It’s not going to work for a nuclear war.

Not these ones they’re selling.

A deep one works.

But some kind of bunker may help you in the case of some other sort of disaster.

AP:

When Bernard Jones Jr. and his wife, Doris, built their dream home, they didn’t hold back. A grotto swimming pool with a waterfall for hot summer days. A home theater for cozy winter nights. A fruit orchard to harvest in fall. And a vast underground bunker in case disaster strikes.

“The world’s not becoming a safer place,” he said. “We wanted to be prepared.”

Under a nondescript metal hatch near the private basketball court, there’s a hidden staircase that leads down into rooms with beds for about 25 people, bathrooms and two kitchens, all backed by a self-sufficient energy source.

With water, electricity, clean air and food, they felt ready for any disaster, even a nuclear blast, at their bucolic home in California’s Inland Empire.

“If there was a nuclear strike, would you rather go into the living room or go into a bunker? If you had one, you’d go there too,” said Jones, who said he reluctantly sold the home two years ago.

Global security leaders are warning nuclear threats are growing as weapons spending surged to $91.4 billion last year. At the same time, private bunker sales are on the rise globally, from small metal boxes to crawl inside of to extravagant underground mansions.

Critics warn these bunkers create a false perception that a nuclear war is survivable. They argue that people planning to live through an atomic blast aren’t focusing on the real and current dangers posed by nuclear threats, and the critical need to stop the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Meanwhile, government disaster experts say bunkers aren’t necessary. A Federal Emergency Management Agency 100-page guide on responding to a nuclear detonation focuses on having the public get inside and stay inside, ideally in a basement and away from outside walls for at least a day. Those existing spaces can provide protection from radioactive fallout, says FEMA.

But increasingly, buyers say bunkers offer a sense of security. The market for U.S. bomb and fallout shelters is forecast to grow from $137 million last year to $175 million by 2030, according to a market research report from BlueWeave Consulting. The report says major growth factors include “the rising threat of nuclear or terrorist attacks or civil unrest.”

“People are uneasy and they want a safe place to put their family. And they have this attitude that it’s better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it,” said Atlas Survival Shelters CEO Ron Hubbard, amid showers of sparks and the loud buzz of welding at his bunker factory, which he says is the world’s largest, in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Hubbard said COVID lockdowns, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war have driven sales.

On Nov. 21, in the hours after Russia’s first-ever use of an experimental, hypersonic ballistic missile to attack Ukraine, Hubbard said his phone rang nonstop.

Ron Hubbard

Nonproliferation advocates bristle at the bunkers, shelters or any suggestion that a nuclear war is survivable.

“Bunkers are, in fact, not a tool to survive a nuclear war, but a tool to allow a population to psychologically endure the possibility of a nuclear war,” said Alicia Sanders-Zakre at the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons.

Sanders-Zakre called radiation the “uniquely horrific aspect of nuclear weapons,” and noted that even surviving the fallout doesn’t prevent long-lasting, intergenerational health crises. “Ultimately, the only solution to protect populations from nuclear war is to eliminate nuclear weapons.”

Researcher Sam Lair at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies says U.S. leaders stopped talking about bunkers decades ago.

“The political costs incurred by causing people to think about shelters again is not worth it to leaders because it forces people to think about what they would do after nuclear war,” he said. “That’s something that very, very few people want to think about. This makes people feel vulnerable.”

Lair said building bunkers seems futile, even if they work in the short term.

“Even if a nuclear exchange is perhaps more survivable than many people think, I think the aftermath will be uglier than many people think as well,” he said. “The fundamental wrenching that it would do to our way of life would be profound.”

That’s been a serious concern of Massachusetts Congressman James McGovern for almost 50 years.

“If we ever get to a point where there’s all out nuclear war, underground bunkers aren’t going to protect people,” he said. “Instead, we ought to be investing our resources and our energy trying to talk about a nuclear weapons freeze, initially.”

James McGovern

McGovern pushed back against FEMA’s efforts to prepare the public for a nuclear attack by advising people to take shelter.

“What a stupid thing to say that we all just need to know where to hide and where to avoid the most impacts of nuclear radiation. I mean, really, that’s chilling when you hear people try to rationalize nuclear war that way,” he said.

You are going to want to cover the hatch.

That’s important.

You don’t want someone stumbling on your hatch and opening it to get your food.

Ultimately though, once the apocalypse comes, you are going to want to be mobile, at least for the first year while you’re waiting for the blacks to die off.

Let’s see if Trump does something to stop this!

Spoiler: he will not!

RT:

The US is stepping up efforts to increase deployment of intermediate and short-range missiles, including stationing hypersonic weapons in Europe and Asia, according to information obtained by RT. Production and deployment of such systems in the US has reportedly been picking up pace in recent years.

Among the major weapons being developed is the multiple-launch rocket system Dark Typhon, which will be capable of firing Standard-6 missiles with a 500-km range and Tomahawk cruise missiles (2,400-km), as well as a hypersonic missile that is also still being developed. The system is expected to become operational by 2025.

During the NATO summit this past July, Washington and Berlin announced that Dark Typhoon would be stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany starting in 2026, a prospect that Russia slammed as an “escalatory action” given that it would place the missiles within range of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other major Russian cities.

…

According to the information obtained by RT, the US plans to start deploying the missiles in Japan by October 2025, which would put then within 8-10 minutes’ flight time from Vladivostok. By 2026, one rocket launcher equipped with 16 missiles is expected to be stationed in Wiesbaden, with a flight time to central Russia also estimated at 8-10 minutes.

The US probably doesn’t care must about Vladivostok, given that they have all of these missiles pointed at Moscow and Saint Petersburg. I think the missiles in Japan are for threatening China, primarily.

But of course, the US threatens the entire world, so I guess they want to threaten Siberia as well.

America is like an evil wizard with a vendetta against all human life.

Vladivostok is a very nice and friendly city.

Sad the US wants to threaten it with hypersonic missiles.

If I was going to threaten Vladivostok with something sonic, I would threaten to send Sonic the Hedgehog to hang out with them and have a fun adventure together.

This is the only rational thing for Russia to do at this point: transfer their entire economy into a war economy.

They have no way of knowing what the US is going to do next, and the only thing they can do is prepare for the worst, while also sending a signal that they are ready for a major conflict if the Americans push for it.

Reuters:

President Vladimir Putin on Monday ordered the regular size of the Russian army to be increased by 180,000 troops to 1.5 million active servicemen in a move that would make it the second largest in the world after China’s.

In a decree published on the Kremlin’s website, Putin ordered the overall size of the armed forces to be increased to 2.38 million people, of which he said 1.5 million should be active servicemen.

According to data from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), a leading military think tank, such an increase would see Russia leapfrog the United States and India in terms of the number of active combat soldiers it has at its disposal and be second only to China in size. The IISS said Beijing has just over 2 million active duty service personnel.

The move, the third time Putin has expanded the army’s ranks since sending his military into Ukraine in February 2022, comes as Russian forces push forward in eastern Ukraine on parts of a vast 1,000 km (627-mile) frontline and try to eject Ukrainian forces from Russia’s Kursk region.

Personally, I thought the Americans were going to back down a long time ago, and they didn’t, so who even knows.

They will eventually have to make a decision when they run out of Ukrainians, but they now seem to be moving to push for the deportation of men who fled to Poland and Western Europe to force them into the military, so that will give them yet another wave of warm bodies to throw into the meat-grinder.

It could take another 18 months for those people to get ground up, and then at that point, the US would have to decide if it wants to throw Poland at Russia, and really escalate things into a real WWIII.

Again, Russia has no way of knowing what they’re going to do, and I don’t even think the people in Washington themselves know what they’re going to do, so the only possible logical thing for Russia to do is expand their military and prepare for this war to get much larger.

Previously: Biden Says Putin Won’t Retaliate If Washington Lets the Ukraine Use Long-Range Missiles to Strike Russia

The Ukraine would not even use this to attack military targets. They would just try to kill random people in Moscow. That’s all they ever do. They’re very bad at attacking military targets, and don’t seem to care about doing that.

Reuters:

The outgoing head of NATO Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday he welcomed talks on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles to strike inside Russian territory, but any decision on the issue would have to be made by individual allies.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been pleading with allies for months to let Ukraine fire Western missiles including long-range U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadows deep into Russia to limit Moscow’s ability to launch attacks.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and U.S. President Joe Biden held talks in Washington on Friday on whether to allow Kyiv to use the long-range missiles against targets in Russia. No decision was announced.

“I welcome these developments and these decisions but its for individual allies to make the final decisions,” Stoltenberg told LBC radio. “Allies have different policies on this.”

They will do this.

They’ve done everything else they said they would never do. It’s a process. They say “we would never do that,” then “well, we might do that,” then “we should do that,” then “okay, we’re doing that.” They’ve done this like 35 times now. None of the Wunderwaffen have actually done anything. The Ukraine just keeps on losing.

Is this a threat?

It sure sounds like a threat.

New York Post:

War or another global pandemic, Microsoft CEO Bill Gates is cautioning that, if the world manages to avoid the former, the latter is a very real possibility within the next 25 years.

“A lot of unrest” in today’s age could spark a major war, he told CNBC’s “Make It.”

“If we avoid a big war … then, yes, there will be another pandemic, most likely in the next 25 years,” he continued.

After seeing the ill-preparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic, Gates joined the league of scientific minds who fear how the world might fare if another global health emergency were to sweep through the population.

Why would a war prevent a pandemic?

What does that even mean?

It’s going to be a super war.

Totally global.

Reuters:

Russia said the West was playing with fire by considering allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with Western missiles and cautioned the United States on Tuesday that World War Three would not be confined to Europe.

Ukraine attacked Russia’s western Kursk region on Aug. 6 and has carved out a slice of territory in the biggest foreign attack on Russia since World War Two. President Vladimir Putin said there would be a worthy response from Russia to the attack.

Sergei Lavrov, who has served as Putin’s foreign minister for more than 20 years, said that the West was seeking to escalate the Ukraine war and was “asking for trouble” by considering Ukrainian requests to loosen curbs on using foreign-supplied weapons.

“We are now confirming once again that playing with fire – and they are like small children playing with matches – is a very dangerous thing for grown-up uncles and aunts who are entrusted with nuclear weapons in one or another Western country,” Lavrov told reporters in Moscow.

“Americans unequivocally associate conversations about Third World War as something that, God forbid, if it happens, will affect Europe exclusively,” Lavrov said.

Well. That has been the thinking of America for a long time: that it is untouchable.

That theory will eventually be tested.

This is like in rap songs where they say “yo mama’s house ain’t hard to find, dawg.”

Reuters:

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West on Tuesday that NATO members in Europe were playing with fire by proposing to let Ukraine use Western weapons to strike deep inside Russia, which he said could trigger a global conflict.

More than two years into the deadliest land war in Europe since World War Two, Putin has increasingly spoken of the risk of a much broader global conflict as the West grapples with what to do about the advance of Russian troops in Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told The Economist that alliance members should let Ukraine strike deep into Russia with Western weapons, a view supported by some NATO members but not by the United States.

“Constant escalation can lead to serious consequences,” Putin told reporters in Tashkent. “If these serious consequences occur in Europe, how will the United States behave, bearing in mind our parity in the field of strategic weapons?”

“It’s hard to say – do they want a global conflict?”

Well.

It would be a lot easier to say if you would hire me as an adviser, My Liege.

Putin said Ukrainian strikes on Russia with long-range weapons would need Western satellite, intelligence and military help – so the West would be directly involved. He said sending French troops to Ukraine would be a step towards a global conflict.

Speaking of NATO members in Europe, Putin said that small countries there “should be aware of what they are playing with”, as they had small land areas and very dense populations.

“This is a factor that they should keep in mind before talking about striking deep into Russian territory,” Putin said.

You would really think that people would be more worried about being nuked. Especially when you look at all those movies from the Cold War. This was like, a big deal. It was bigger than global warming is now. People were constantly thinking about the threat of a global nuclear war.

Now, no one even cares about it at all, despite the fact that we are about 100x closer to this happening than we were at any point during the Cold War.

Like, Putin is saying, in no uncertain terms, that if he starts losing in the Ukraine, he is going to start shooting off nukes. Presumably, that isn’t actually a problem, because he’s not going to lose in the Ukraine.

But knowing that, why would Americans even want to win in the Ukraine?

They’ll say “it doesn’t matter – we just have to do the right thing for democracy!”

Is this some kind of moral system from the MCU films?

But it’s like, actually, it does matter if European and American cities get blown off the map. Actually, that matters a lot more than gay pride parades in the Donbass.

I think most people would say “I would be willing to sacrifice gay pride parades in the Donbass in order for major European and American cities to not get nuked.”

But that is not the advertised moral system, and the Western media simply refuses to explain what is actually going on.

American Military Getting Ready for a Chinese “Invasion” of Taiwan https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/02/01/american-military-getting-ready-for-a-chinese-invasion-of-taiwan/ Thu, 01 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Xi’s position was that the reunification with Taiwan should be peaceful, and should happen maybe sometime in the 2040s.

Because the US wanted to start problems with China, they started claiming without evidence that China was planning an imminent invasion of Taiwan, and then started making threats of war. Joe Biden came out and said that Taiwan is now an independent country.

It’s a very strange strategy, which is only possible because Americans are so fat and stupid that they are incapable of simply looking things up: you lie about the intent of a foreign country to escalate, then you use that lie about an intent to escalate as an excuse to escalate.

Reuters:

When U.S. and Australian troops practiced amphibious landings, ground combat and air operations last summer, they drew headlines about the allies deepening defense cooperation to counter China’s growing military ambitions.

China doesn’t have any military ambitions.

You can go read their materials. They say that the only reason they even bother having a substantial military is to defend against US aggression.

But for U.S. war planners preparing for a potential conflict over Taiwan, the high-profile Talisman Sabre exercises had a far more discreet value: They helped create new stockpiles of military equipment that were left behind in Australia after the drills ended in August, U.S. officials told Reuters.

The United States and its allies are increasingly worried that in the coming years Chinese President Xi Jinping could order his military to seize Taiwan, the democratically-governed island China considers its own territory. So, the U.S. military is taking a hard look at its own military readiness and trying to play catch-up in a critical area: its logistics network.

Can you imagine?

The US has effectively lost a war with Russia, they are funding a war against Palestine, they just started a war with Yemen, they are currently threatening to start a war with Iran, and in the middle of this, they come out and say “actually, we’re planning a war against the Chinese also.”

Note: it wasn’t too long ago they were also trying to start a war in West Africa.

You can go through and explain why none of these wars is justified, but you don’t really need to when you just take a step back and look at all of these wars the US is involved in and planning to start. No reasonable country goes around starting wars all over the world like this.

The US is a mad dog.

The equipment from Talisman Sabre included roughly 330 vehicles and trailers and 130 containers in warehouses in Bandiana, in southeastern Australia, the Army says.

The amount of equipment, which has not been previously reported, is enough to supply about three logistics companies, with as many as 500 or more soldiers, focused on ensuring supplies reach warfighters.

It’s the kind of materiel that’s needed for a future drill, a natural disaster, or in a war.

“We’re looking to do this more and more,” Army General Charles Flynn, the top Army commander in the Pacific, told Reuters in an interview.

“There’s a number of other countries in the region where we already have agreements to do that,” he added, without naming specific countries.

Reuters interviews with more than two dozen current and former U.S. officials found that American military logistics in the Pacific is one of the greatest U.S. vulnerabilities in any potential conflict over Taiwan.

U.S. war games have concluded that China would likely try to bomb jet fuel supplies or refueling ships, crippling U.S. air and sea power without having to battle heavily armed fighter jets or sink America’s fleet of surface warships, according to current and former officials and experts.

In response, the United States is trying to spread its military logistics hubs across the region – including warehouses in Australia, officials told Reuters.

Asked about Reuters’ conclusions, the Pentagon said that the Department of Defense is working with allies to make U.S. forces more mobile and distributed.

But critics say Washington’s network is still too concentrated and that the government hasn’t put enough money or urgency toward the effort.

“When you really dig down a couple of layers, the intel community is blinking red as far as for the next five years. And yet some of these timelines (to address the risks) are 10, 15, 20 years long,” said Congressman Mike Waltz, a Republican who leads the House subcommittee overseeing military logistics and readiness.

“There’s a mismatch there.”

The U.S. military’s logistics arm, U.S. Transportation Command (TransCom), has had a major success: funneling more than 660 million pounds of equipment and over 2 million rounds of artillery to the Ukrainian military in its war with Russia.

Supporting Taiwan, roughly 100 miles from the coast of China, would be orders of magnitude harder, U.S. officials and experts acknowledge.

There is no possible way that the US could prevent China from blockading Taiwan.

One reason China doesn’t want to do it, even in the face of these lunatic threats from America, is that it would create massive economic disruptions.

China is hoping that America is simply going to fizzle out with its various other wars before it gets around to starting an Asian war. It’s probably a pretty good bet.

Well, now we have dead Americans.

I suspect there were others. There have been so many of these attacks. The US was likely covering up deaths. But now there are dead Americans in the news.

Iran clearly wants the war a lot more than the US.

New York Post:

Three US service members were killed and 34 others wounded by Iran-backed militants in a drone attack Saturday night in Jordan — prompting President Biden to vow to respond to what were the first deaths of American troops by enemy fire in the Gaza war.

Saturday’s air assault was carried out against a small American outpost in Jordan near the Syrian border and marked the worst attack in the region since four US soldiers were killed by an ISIS bomb in 2019.

Biden on Sunday blasted the attack as “despicable and wholly unjust” — and warned, “We shall respond.”

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin echoed the president’s warning.

“The President and I will not tolerate attacks on American forces, and we will take all necessary actions to defend the United States, our troops and our interests,” he said in a statement.

Biden said in an earlier release from the White House, “While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iran.

“The three American service members we lost were patriots in the highest sense,” he said. “ We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism. And have no doubt — we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner [of] our choosing.”

The president later reiterated his vow to retaliate against the terrorists, telling supporters at a campaign rally at a church in South Carolina, “We had a tough day in the Middle East.

“We lost three brave souls,” Biden said.

“We shall respond.”

Shut up, gay.

What are you going to do?

Start a war with Iran?

Yeah, I guess that’s what they’ll probably do.

At least the Ukraine war is over though.

Probably.

It doesn’t really even matter.

You will witness the last gasps of a dying empire.

Then things will get better.

The rush to get white males (as well as anyone else they can find) into the military as quickly as possible has led many to suggest we are headed for some kind of major and serious war.

However, while that may indeed be the case, people need to step back and consider the actual numbers.

I wish I had the time to look up some serious data about what kind of numbers the US’ own think tanks have estimated they would need for a global confrontation with “anti-democracy countries” – that is, the three-front war that they are agitating with against Russia, Iran, and China. But it’s Sunday. I don’t have time for that shit.

The bottom line is, they would need a draft. And it would be a much more serious draft than Vietnam. It would be a World War II style draft.

And that doesn’t begin to touch on the “readiness,” which relates to both training, strategic and tactical preparation, and not only restocking all of the stocks that have gone unattended over the last 30-40 years, but developing all kinds of new technologies to deal with the current reality of modern warfare.

No one can yet say “drones have made the aircraft carrier, and thus the entire American military platform, obsolete.” But the game is sure as hell a lot different than it was in 2003, and the US military has not developed at all since that point.

Anyway, it is Sunday and I’ve written about this a lot before. But I do not believe there is really any possibility that the US military is ever going to be capable of fighting this war that, by all appearances, it is planning to fight.

Mark Milley dipped out specifically because he said this was all ridiculous and delusional. He basically said that the US should surrender in the Ukraine, because they lack the ability to even escalate that one war, and now we’re talking about a war against all Moslems, which would be backed by Russia and China.

I don’t think you really have to worry much about this actually happening. If it did happen, the US would lose really quickly.

New York Post:

The US Navy is starting to enlist individuals who didn’t graduate from high school or get a GED, marking the second time in about a year that the service has opened the door to lower-performing recruits as it struggles to meet enlistment goals.

The decision follows a move in December 2022 to bring in a larger number of recruits who score very low on the Armed Services Qualification Test.

Both are fairly rare steps that the other military services largely avoid or limit, even though they are all finding it increasingly difficult to attract the dwindling number of young people who can meet the military’s physical, mental and moral standards.

Under the new plan, Navy recruits without an education credential will be able to join as long as they score 50 or above on the qualification test, which is out of 99.

The last time the service took individuals without education credentials was in 2000.

“We get thousands of people into our recruiting stations every year that want to join the Navy but do not have an education credential. And we just turn them away,” said Vice Adm. Rick Cheeseman, the Navy’s chief of personnel, in an interview Friday with The Associated Press.

He said that of the more than 2,400 who were turned away last year, as many as 500 of them could score high enough to get in.

He said he has already sent an order to his recruiters to start the new expanded effort, adding, “I’m hoping all my recruiters have called all 2,442 of them in the last 72 hours, and we’ll see how it goes … We’ll try to get some test takers this weekend.”

Most likely, the US economy will collapse internally due to external pressure within the next 15 years or so, which will cause the dollar to lose around 75% of its value, which will make funding the foreign war machine impossible.

It will also make funding the current war against the domestic population impossible, and will presumably result in revolutionary changes within the domestic landscape.

Overall, while many are preaching total doom on the horizon, the actual outlook in the long-term and even in the medium term is very good. I know I’m pretty dismissive of the whole Trump 2024 plan, but if we zoom out just a little bit, I’m incredibly optimistic about the future of America.

From all of the data I can see, the empire is exhausting itself. It will inevitably fall, and then a new world order will rise, where China is the undisputed world power, and that will then lead to a total transformation of the national identity of Americans. Most of the immigrants will leave voluntarily. States will reassume their states’ rights when the feds no longer have the ability to control them by subsidizing them. There might be some kind of confederacy.

Meanwhile, feminism will die when there is no big government to support it, and men will be reinvigorated when they once again have access to women. We will have new leaders, a new identity, a new era of hope, light, and prosperity.
