The alleged gunman in a deadly shooting has been caught less than 48 hours after the crime as the mayor of Williamsport responds to recent violence in the city.

Williamsport police announced the arrest Tuesday morning at a news conference addressing several recent shootings in the city.

“We are very happy to report that the shooter in that case, the homicide at the Uni-Mart, is in custody,” said Williamsport Police Chief Damon Hagan.

Ikeem Fogan, 21, of Williamsport, was arrested in connection with the shooting at the Uni-Mart on West Fourth Street. Police charged Fogan with robbing the Uni-Mart and killing Rhonda McPeak who was in the store Sunday night just to buy a bag of chips.

It took a jury in Lycoming County part of the day and into the evening Friday to find a man guilty of murder in the first and second degree in a fatal shooting in a Poplar Street residence.

Jordan Adonis Rawls, 27, formerly of the 1000 block of Race Street, was found guilty of shooting Shane Wright, 25, and his mother, Kristine Kibler, 50, on Halloween night 2016.

Jurors returned the verdict of first degree murder, and second degree murder of Wright and Kibler; guilty of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery, and possessing an instrument of crime.

President Judge Nancy L. Butts convicted Rawls of person not to possess or carry a firearm.

The third degree murder charge of Kibler was “not guilty.”

The first degree murder carries a life sentence and the second degree murder brings life without possibility of parole, said First County Assistant District Attorney Martin Wade.

It was a robbery of the half of a double in which Wright operated a marijuana distribution, Wade said in closing remarks.

A woman wanted for a deadly stabbing in Williamsport was brought back to Lycoming County to face charges.

U.S. Marshals arrested Monica Burns, 30, of Williamsport, Wednesday morning in Philadelphia. Authorities issued a warrant for Burns several days ago.

Burns was arraigned at a magistrate’s office in Loyalsock Township Wednesday evening on charges including criminal homicide.

Burns is accused of fatally stabbing Ryan Jones, 28, of Williamsport, earlier this month. Investigators believe Burns stabbed Jones in the chest during a fight at a New Year’s Eve party.

Burns has been charged with homicide, aggravated assault, and possessing an instrument of crime. She’s locked up without bail.
