Previously:

How is the mainstream saying that weight loss drugs have health benefits, and also saying “healthy at any size” (i.e., being fat is healthy)?

Can both these things be true?

Obviously not.

Can you think of other examples where the Jewish establishment promotes narratives that are the opposite of each other, and insists that both are absolute fact???

Reuters:

Novo Nordisk said on Tuesday a large late-stage study showed its obesity drug Wegovy had a clear medical benefit, in addition to weight loss, boosting the Danish drugmaker’s hopes of moving beyond Wegovy’s image as a lifestyle drug.

In a statement, the Danish drugmaker said the weekly injection reduced the risk of a major cardiovascular event like a stroke by 20% in overweight or obese people with a history of heart disease, exceeding expectations from a key late-stage trial.

That’s significantly better than the 15-17% expected by investors and analysts ahead of the eagerly-awaited data.

The study called SELECT involved 17,500 patients aged 45 years or older with no prior history of diabetes and started almost five years ago testing if the weekly injection has medical benefits.

The news sent shares in Europe’s second-most valuable listed company after LVMH up more than 13% to record highs. The shares have surged almost 150% over the past two years.

The results may help persuade insurers in the United States and cost-conscious health authorities in Europe to cover the cost of Wegovy for a broader segment of patients.

The U.S. Medicare health plan for older Americans, for example, classifies weight-loss treatments as lifestyle drugs.

Experts say the new data could lead the U.S., where Wegovy costs $1,300 a month, to reassess that.

The landmark trial data shows Wegovy has “the potential to change how obesity is regarded and treated,” said Martin Holst Lange, executive vice president for development at Novo Nordisk, in a statement.

Novo Nordisk said it expects to file for regulatory approvals of a label indication expansion for the weekly injection in the United States and European Union this year.

The detailed results from the trial will be presented at a scientific conference later in 2023.

I don’t think these drugs are healthy. (I also think that if anyone can’t control what they shove in their mouth, they are so weak we should let them die.)

That said, even with all of the strange side effects of these drugs, probably, simply losing the weight is going to, on balance, increase their general level of health, because being fat is just so, so, so very bad for you.

Obesity is associated with every single negative health outcome. All of them.

But, also, you know…

NEW GOOD SOLUTION: Weight-Loss Drug to Counter Drug-Induced Weight Gain https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/08/03/new-good-solution-weight-loss-drug-to-counter-drug-induced-weight-gain/ Thu, 03 Aug 2023 00:00:00 +0000

See: “Weight Loss Drug” Causing Stomach Paralysis (Drugs to Change Behavior are an Insane Concept)

If the drugs you’re taking are making you fat – don’t worry.

We have drugs for that.

Reuters:

U.S. psychiatrists are increasingly prescribing the popular weight-loss drug Wegovy to patients who gain weight from medicines used to treat mental disorders, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, according to Reuters interviews with ten prescribers across the country.

Many antipsychotic drugs and mood stabilizers can cause patients to gain significant weight and contribute to diabetes and heart disease, the leading cause of death among adults with schizophrenia.

Complicated by other factors such as inadequate access to healthy food and lower physical activity, over half of patients with bipolar depression and schizophrenia are overweight or obese.

Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy is self-injected once a week and has been shown to help patients lose around 15% of their body weight, making it the most effective treatment available.

“It’s been a real welcome addition …. for people who truly have endured significant weight gain because of atypical antipsychotics and have doggedly tried their best to overcome that,” said Dr. Joseph Goldberg, a professor of psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.

Wegovy received U.S. approval as an obesity treatment in June 2021, while Mounjaro, a similar drug from Eli Lilly, is expected to be authorized this year. New rivals are also in development.

The global market for weight-loss drugs is forecast to reach as much as $100 billion within the decade.

Yet the best use of such drugs among patients with psychiatric diagnoses is just beginning to be understood.

Beyond severe mental health disorders, other patients struggling with obesity tend to suffer from mental health issues like depression and anxiety at higher levels than the general population, studies show.

Clinical trials for Wegovy, which belongs to a class of drugs known as GLP-1 agonists that began as diabetes medicines, excluded psychiatric patients, a common practice in drug development.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cautioned doctors to monitor patients taking the drug for development of depression or suicidal thoughts. Regulators in Europe are now investigating several reports of patients who experienced suicidal thoughts after starting Wegovy.

It is like a science fiction novel.

And if you were an amateur, you’d reference Huxley.

I wouldn’t blame you.

If you were more of a pro, however, you’d probably reference Burgess.

We really need to bring back Burgess.

His criticism is worth more than… well, it’s worth more than anything Julian ever wrote.

I’m not going to insult Aldous.

Julian, however, was much more political, and much more… crappy.

For people trying to learn to read novels, maybe try “The Wanting Seed.”

It made a big impression on me.

I think it’s probably better than…

Well, it’s better than the Clockwork Orange.

I’m not ready to say it is better than A Brave New World.

I would have to really go back, as a man pushing 40-years-old, and re-examine these novels on a serious level.

Turns out that Big Pharma’s weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy can have significant downsides, like stomach paralysis.

Who knew? Bet that didn’t come up in clinical trials.

Taking a drug for weight loss is like taking a drug for driving too fast.

Like, imagine taking a drug to change a behavior.

Of course it’s going to be unsafe.

New York Post:

A drug designed to treat diabetes has become one of the hottest and most controversial weight loss crazes to date.

Now, people are saying they wished they “never touched it.”

Ozempic is a medication designed for people with Type 2 diabetes that has become widely used as a weight loss drug.

Ozempic and Wegovy are semaglutides, which help the pancreas release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high.

The Eli Lilly counterpart, Mounjaro, is a tirzepatide that has been shown to help control blood sugar as well.

The drugs work by mimicking a natural hormone, GLP-1, which slows down the passage of food through the stomach, making people feel full for longer.

However, issues start to arise if the drugs slow down the stomach too much.

CNN spoke to several dieters who have been diagnosed with severe gastroparesis, or stomach paralysis, likely as a result of taking Ozempic, their doctors believe.

Gastroparesis is a condition that slows or stops the movement of food from the stomach to the small intestine, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Women are at a higher risk of the condition, and doctors are unable to track down a cause in more than half of cases.

“I wish I never touched it. I wish I’d never heard of it in my life,” Joanie Knight, from Angie, Louisiana, told CNN. “This medicine made my life hell. So much hell. It has cost me money. It cost me a lot of stress; it cost me days and nights and trips with my family. It’s cost me a lot, and it’s not worth it. The price is too high.”

Long after she stopped taking the drug, Knight needed stomach bypass surgery, which has since allowed her to eat some of her favorite foods again without throwing them up.

Patients like Knight experienced inexplicable symptoms, such as burps that smelled like sulfur, and sudden bouts of vomiting so severe it landed them in the hospital — including some who had already been off the drug for months before illness arose.

Endoscopies would show their stomachs full of days-old food, which is unusual since typically less than 10% of food consumed is left in the stomach four hours after a meal.

Doctors have said they’re seeing a lot of cases similar to Knight’s and others who spoke to CNN, as well as a spike in ER admissions, all involving GLP-1 class drugs.

The Food and Drug Administration also confirmed such reports, though they are unable to officially determine whether these cases of gastroparesis were caused by the weight-loss drugs or by another condition.

“The FDA has received reports of gastroparesis with semaglutide and liraglutide, some of which documented the adverse event as not recovered after discontinuation of the respective product at the time of the report,” the agency said in a statement to CNN.

Obesity is not a disease.

It’s a behavior.

These drugs are going to end up being like those drugs that caused people to be born without limbs.

Like, this was totally insane to put these on the market.

America is both communist and libertarian.

Imagine it.

Super high taxes – crippling taxes – and no regulation on corporations.

It’s like wow.

Pick one, huh?

Shocker: Fat Women Stop Taking Weight-Loss Drugs Like Wegovy Within a Year https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/07/12/shocker-fat-women-stop-taking-weight-loss-drugs-like-wegovy-within-a-year/ Wed, 12 Jul 2023 00:00:00 +0000

You can’t fix personal problems with drugs. This is something that is widely accepted when it comes to fentanyl or whatever other extreme narcotic, but with other personal problems, we have decided drugs may well be the solution.

A fat person is not going to stop being fat because you put them on drugs. If they take the drugs and stop being fat, it is incidental.

Most of them remain fat. We have this data now.

Reuters:

Only about one-third of patients prescribed a popular weight-loss drug like Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy were still taking it a year later, while total healthcare costs for the group rose sharply, according to an analysis of U.S. pharmacy claims shared with Reuters.

The annual cost of overall care for patients prior to taking Wegovy or a similar drug was $12,371, on average, according to the analysis. The full-year cost after starting the medication jumped by 59% to $19,657, on average.

The costs for a similar control group of patients not taking the drugs decreased by 4% over the same period. The mean age of patients included in the analysis was 47 and 81% were female.

Medicines such as Wegovy can cost more than $1,000 per month, and any improvement in health and subsequent reduction in medical costs is not likely to occur quickly.

“This analysis points to the fact that there can be a lot of spending on people that are not likely to reap any long-term health benefits,” said Khrysta Baig, a health policy researcher at Vanderbilt University who reviewed the findings for Reuters.

…

Overall, 32% of the patients were still taking the medicine for weight loss a year after their initial prescription. All the patients had insurance coverage for GLP-1 drugs, and the results did not differ materially based which of the drugs was prescribed, Prime said.

Patrick Gleason, Prime’s assistant vice president for health outcomes and a co-author of the analysis, said this real-world data suggests a substantial drop in adherence compared to what was reported in clinical trials. In trials with adults, Novo found that 6.8% of patients taking Wegovy discontinued treatment due to gastrointestinal problems and other adverse events.

“The majority of patients aren’t getting the value of the product and there’s waste, especially with an expensive therapy,” Gleason said. “I was a little bit surprised by the persistency rate.”

The government is paying for these drugs.

How does that even make any sense?

The government should put them in fat camps.

Of worse, quite frankly.

France: “Weight Loss Pill” Found to Have Killed at Least a Few Hundred People; Producer Gets Small Fine, No One Goes to Jail https://www.anglinarchive.com/2021/03/29/france-weight-loss-pill-found-to-have-killed-at-least-a-few-hundred-people-producer-gets-small-fine-no-one-goes-to-jail/ Mon, 29 Mar 2021 17:54:32 +0000

The first rule of democracy is: no one is ever held responsible for anything.

The second rule of democracy is: no one is ever held responsible for anything.

The third rule of democracy is: take drugs and die.

BBC:

A French drug maker has been found guilty of aggravated deceit and involuntary manslaughter over a weight loss pill at the centre of a major health scandal.

The drug Mediator was developed for use in overweight diabetics and was on the market for 33 years.

It was eventually withdrawn in 2009 over concerns it could cause serious heart problems.

Hundreds of people are believed to have died as a result of the drug.

Around five million people were prescribed the medicine over the course of three decades, despite various warnings over its side effects.

Thousands of plaintiffs were involved in the trial, which began in 2019.

Drug maker Servier had denied any knowledge of Mediator’s side effects but a court on Monday issued it with a fine of €2.7m (£2.3m, $3.2m).

“Although they knew about the risks for many years… they never took the necessary measures,” judge Sylvie Daunis said.

The company’s former deputy chairman, Jean-Philippe Seta, was also given a four-year suspended prison sentence.

This company had a revenue of over 4 billion Euros in 2018, and presumably made even more last year because of the flu that’s killed all of us multiple times so far.

This was not just a couple of deaths.

One study concluded that 500 deaths could be linked to Mediator between 1976 and 2009. A second one put the figure at 2,000.

The company basically murdered those people, and no one goes to jail.

Sending rich and powerful people to jail is not a value of democracy. Because democracy is about freedom. So no one goes to jail except people who do a Holocaust of Jews.

Or people who ask questions about a Holocaust of Jews.

But other than that, as long as you wear your mask and don’t commit hugging offenses, you can’t go to jail.
