Not only do Big Tech companies regulate freedom of speech in America – they attempt to regulate it across the entire planet.

Apple has removed VKontakte, a top Russian social media platform, from its app store, according to the app’s developer.

Apple’s decision also affects other iOS apps produced by VKontakte’s parent, the technology giant VK, according to a blog post Tuesday by the company.

“Now some VK applications are blocked by Apple, so they are not available for download and update in the App Store,” VK wrote in the blog post. Existing installations of those apps should continue to function normally, VK added.

VK apps provide a range of services including email, food delivery and digital payments. It is the fifth-largest website by traffic in Russia, by some estimates. The company’s social network has 97 million monthly users worldwide, while its email service, Mail.ru, has 46 million users within Russia.

Apple confirmed the removals to CNN Business and said the decision aims to comply with newly imposed UK sanctions against Russia. The UK government on Monday had said it was targeting dozens of Russian elites in response to Russia’s “illegal sham referendums in Ukraine” that claimed to show support for Ukraine’s integration with Russia.

This is obviously designed to push Russians off of VK and onto Twitter and Facebook – there is no other reason you would do this. What Twitter and Facebook do is ban anything pro-Russian and promote everything anti-Russian.

It’s counterintuitive, but I’ve said for a long time that countries banning Western social media is an action in support of freedom of speech. What these platforms do is convince everyone to get on them, then start censoring in order to push their agenda. Twitter literally banned the president of Nigeria for talking about a policy they did not like. It’s just lunacy.

Along with banning content they don’t like, they will manipulate politics and society in countries by pushing content they do like. For example, they will promote gay anal sex in Christian and Islamic countries that ban these acts. They will also promote politicians that they want to win – always those backed by George Soros and other Western/Jew forces.

No sovereign nation can remain sovereign while allowing American Big Tech companies to monitor and decide the nature of the public discourse. You would have thought that after the United States used Twitter and such to overthrow all those governments during the “Arab Spring” that every country would start banning these apps. But they did not.

It hurts me to say this, but Russia has been holding back in the fight against Globo-Homo.

All the time, I hear Lavrov or that woman talking about how they still want to work together with their Western “partners” in the official statements coming out of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On the one hand, I understand the strategy of biding one’s time. On the other, it’s clearly way past time to start fighting back.

To be fair, Russia’s been revamping its military and preparing their economy for war pressure. So credit due where credit is due on that front. But they still haven’t gone all out on all fronts.

Russian legislation may be amended to allow harsher sanctions against foreign IT-companies, including blocking Google, that keep violating the country’s laws, Russia’s telecom watchdog Roskomnadzor warned.

“Blocking will become the toughest possible measure,” but it would be justified, considering the content of the banned websites Google allows its users to browse freely, he said. 

Well, the reasoning is… convoluted to say the least. Basically, the Soviet Boomers running Roskomnadzor are saying that Google isn’t blocking bad stuff like porno and gore and Islamic state porno-gore on their search engines.

A new law was introduced in Russia this October that obliges all operators of search engines to exclude terrorist, extremist and other illegal websites from their search results.

However, Google refuses to filter the illegal content, despite Roskomnadzor holding several meetings with the representatives of the US tech giant and explaining the legalities to them.

Google is a very principled company that cares about the sanctity of free speech in Russia lol.

It doesn’t really matter what bad reason they come up with though, what’s important is that they start weaning their citizens off Google and using Yandex, the Russian equivalent, instead.

Because if Google can influence culture, politics and elections in America, you better believe that they can do the same in Russia. The clampdown comes late, but hey, better late than never.

In September, the watchdog also threated to block Facebook in Russia as the company violated the bans on storing of Russian citizens’ personal data on servers located outside the country.

Also, Russia needs to ban Instagram and every single e-thot enabling social media. Create a more controlled domestic e-thot alternative for them. These bitches aren’t going to be able to figure out VPNs. And if they’re going to slut it up, may as well keep it domestic and not let them run loose on international platforms where they’ll be exposed to bad behavior from Western sluts and offers of cash to get shit on by Middle Eastern perverts.

In fact, I’d ban most social media outright, but these whores would start rioting in the streets if we did smdh.

All this is to say that Russia needs economic, financial, technological and cultural autarky going forward.

They’re big enough to pull it off. And neighboring countries will be eventually pulled into their orbit because of the alternative that Russia can offer. This has to happen.

Because a globalized world means no alternatives. 

But a multipolar world gives us a fighting chance. For one, countries will no longer be able to go crazy and fuck with their citizens to the extent that they do now. Because their citizens will be able to look over at other countries doing things differently and start asking why they can’t do things like that other bloc does things.

Furthermore, since all of us reading The Stormer now are basically going to end up as persecuted cyber-criminals on the run like characters from a William Gibson novel… it will help us immensely if the long cyber-arm of the CIA and the JIDF couldn’t reach us literally everywhere like they can now.

Russia going full autarky and paving a path for other blocs to go their own way gives people like us opportunities that we just don’t have right now.

As an example, just think what we could do with a payment processor that doesn’t boot us off immediately. For that, you need an independent bank and a foreign alternative to Patreon and Pay Pal that just doesn’t give a fuck about your fight with Silicon Valley in California.

More and more countries are definitely going to be going their own way in the years to come. Despite all the talk of Russia being a “police state,” they actually have a lot more freedom than we do.

The deputy head of the presidential administration, Vyacheslav Volodin, has said that Russia has more internet freedom than the United States, where people receive prison sentences for online comments about President Barack Obama.

Volodin was giving a press conference in the central Russian city of Tambov, where a local reporter asked him to comment on the possibility of introducing a rule that would require social networks to obtain ID from their users “so that people could know who is on the other side of the internet.” The official replied that unlike many countries, Russia has chosen self-regulation on the internet and he saw no need to change this.

“Now we are capable of solving various issues through self-regulation and a ban on distribution of information about illegal drugs, suicide and extremism. Society has a need for this.”

He also noted that Russia had more internet freedom than other nations, in particular the United States.

“Take a look at the legal practice. Have you ever heard about court processes initiated by [Russian] civil servants and senior officials against ordinary internet users over even the most harsh statements made on the internet?” Volodin asked journalists.

A woman in the audience answered that a man had once attempted to sue her for dissemination of discrediting materials about him on the internet, but failed as police and prosecutors refused to recognize her material as unlawful. “You can see that prosecutors protect you. And if you take a look at the US statistics, even over the past six months, you will see that several people there received prison sentences between 12 and 18 months for their posts about President Obama,” Volodin told journalists.

“Ask yourselves – who has more democracy – us or them?” he concluded.

The official did not specify which legal cases he was talking about, but this could be the arrest of John Martin Roos – a 61-year-old Wisconsin man who was detained in April this year for threatening the US president on social media. Police also found weapons and several pipe bombs as they searched Roos’ home. He has not yet been sentenced. In 2013, Donte Jamar Sims from Florida was sentenced to six months in prison plus one year of supervised release for making threats to President Obama over Twitter.

Yeah, well, maybe those two guys did deserve it lol.

But the fact remains: you don’t have the kind of bizarre nanny-like intrusions into people’s personal lives in Russia that you have in the West.

This is why many people are switching from Facebook to VK. They don’t constantly censor you.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Miss Hitler pageant on Russia’s popular social media site VKontakte featuring hot Russian chicks has been shut down.  It is being said that the pageant violated the site’s terms of service.

Even though we don’t know who specifically lobbied to have this innovative and popular pageant shut down, the below picture might give us a bit of a clue.

Just two days after Vocativ posted a story on a pro-Nazi VKontakte group’s Miss Hitler pageant, the page hosting the competition has been taken down because of its “calls for violent actions,” according to the Russian social media site. VKontakte’s head of public relations, George Lobushkin, backed up this claim in an email to Vocativ Monday.

Lobushkin said VKontakte’s Terms of Service (link in Russian) prohibit site users from “loading, storing, publishing, disseminating, making available or otherwise using any information which: propagandizes and/or contributes to racial, religious, ethnic hatred or hostility, propagandizes fascism or racial superiority.”
