But in the overwhelming majority of cases – maybe almost every case – a person receiving the blood from the blood bank is not conscious. You are trusting the system, every day, that if you get in a car crash or other serious accident, the people who are supposed to help you are going to help you.

The system has decided that the people who are supposed to help you are instead going to inject you with disease-riddled faggot blood.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday loosened restrictions on blood donations by men who have sex with men, a change that could ease blood shortages by allowing more people to donate.

The agency said it will recommend a series of “individual risk-based questions” that will be the same for every donor, regardless of sexual orientation, sex or gender. Gay and bisexual men in monogamous relationships will be allowed to donate blood.

“The implementation of these recommendations will represent a significant milestone for the agency and the LGBTQI+ community,” said Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.

Under current FDA guidelines for donating blood, men who have sex with men are permitted to donate blood after a three-month deferral period in which they abstain from sexual encounters with men. This change was made in 2020, after the previous guidance had mandated a 12-month deferral period.

The new policy eliminates current time-based restrictions in favor of a more inclusive policy the agency said was based on the best scientific evidence, while also maintaining the safety of the blood supply.

All prospective donors who reported having anal sex with a new partner, or more than one partner in the last three months would be deferred for three months to reduce the likelihood of donations by individuals with new or recent HIV infection, FDA said.

A donor who doesn’t report having any new sexual partners but who has had anal sex in the last three months can still be eligible to donate if all other criteria are met.

Sharply rising cases of some sexually transmitted diseases, including a 26% rise in new syphilis infections reported last year, are prompting US health officials to call for new prevention and treatment efforts.

“It is imperative that we … work to rebuild, innovate, and expand (STD) prevention in the US,” said Leandro Mena of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a speech on Monday at a medical conference on sexually transmitted diseases.

Infections rates for some STDs, including gonorrhea and syphilis, have been rising for years. Last year the rate of syphilis cases reached its highest since 1991 and the total number of cases hit its highest since 1948. HIV cases are also on the rise, up 16% last year.

An international outbreak of monkeypox has further highlighted the nation’s worsening problem with diseases spread mostly through sex.

David Harvey, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors, called the situation “out of control”.

Officials are working on new approaches to the problem, such as home-test kits for some STDs that will make it easier for people to learn they are infected and to take steps to prevent spreading it to others, Mena said.

Another expert said a core part of any effort must work to increase the use of condoms.

“It’s pretty simple. More sexually transmitted infections occur when people are having more unprotected sex,” said Mike Saag, an infectious disease expert at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Syphilis is a bacterial disease that surfaces as genital sores but can ultimately lead to severe symptoms and death if left untreated. New syphilis infections plummeted in the US starting in the 1940s when antibiotics became widely available. They fell to their lowest ever by 1998, when fewer than 7,000 new cases were reported nationwide. The CDC was so encouraged by the progress it launched a plan to eliminate syphilis in the US.

But, by 2002, cases began rising again, largely among gay and bisexual men, and they kept going. In late 2013, CDC ended its elimination campaign in the face of limited funding and escalating cases, which that year surpassed 17,000.

By 2020, cases had reached nearly 41,700 and they spiked even further last year, to more than 52,000.

The rate of cases has been rising, too, hitting about 16 per 100,000 people last year. That’s the highest in three decades.

Rates are highest in men who have sex with men, and among Black and Latinos and Native Americans. While the rate for women is lower than it is for men, officials noted that it has been rising more dramatically, up about 50% last year.

But no one’s really sure, and some say testing and vaccines can still stop the outbreak from taking root.

So far, more than 2,800 U.S. cases have been reported as part of an international outbreak that emerged two months ago. About 99% have been men who reported having sex with other men, health officials say.

Health officials are not sure how fast the virus has spread. They have only limited information about people who have been diagnosed, and they don’t know how many infected people might be spreading it unknowingly.

With such huge question marks, predictions about how big the U.S. outbreak will get this summer vary widely, from 13,000 to perhaps more than 10 times that number.

Three Missouri judges have upheld an arbitration ruling ordering GEICO General Insurance Company to shell out a $5.2 million settlement to a woman who alleged she contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD) during car sex, according to a report.

The ruling came down Tuesday from a panel of judges in the Missouri Court of Appeals after the insurance company mounted a legal effort to reverse the arbitration settlement, the Kansas City Star reported.

The bizarre court case saga’s roots extend back to 2017 when a woman, referred to in court documents as M.O., allegedly contracted anogenital Human Papillomavirus  (HPV) from a man identified as M.B. while they engaged in unprotected sex in his Hyundai Genesis, the Insurance Journal previously reported. The claimant alleged that M.B was aware that he had HPV, but he neither took measures to protect her from the disease nor did he disclose the diagnosis.

According to an October 2021 GEICO court filing, M.B had a pair of insurance policies with the company, including “a Kansas Family Automobile Insurance Policy that listed M.B.’s Hyundai Genesis and an umbrella policy.”

“Such a situation can fuel the emergence of resistance in gonorrhea including gonorrhea superbug (super gonorrhea) or gonorrhea with high-level resistance to current antibiotics recommended to treat it,” a WHO spokesperson told British media outlet The Sun.

Kevin Cox, executive chairman of the Britain-based startup Biotaspheric Limited stated new treatments are urgently needed for gonorrhea as people who are infected “will infect others and accelerate microbial resistance.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said cases of gonorrhea, which is caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae, have increased 63 per cent since 2014. The US agency has also warned that this could “facilitate transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).” Not only this, it can also cause eye infections.

People with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are using Reddit to try and get diagnosed without having to see a doctor, scientists have warned.

A study found thousands of posts have been submitted to the social media site by people worried about their sexual health.

Many include graphic close-up photos of their genitals, while others give detailed accounts of their sexual history.

The forum studied in the research – r/STD – has more than 10,000 regular visitors and even has ‘trusted contributors’ who can comment on people’s posts without showing any clear medical credentials.

Experts warn these forums may distract people from going to see a real doctor or lead to wrong or delayed diagnoses, putting their future partners at risk.

A team of researchers led by the University of California, San Diego, analysed a total of 16,979 posts on the STD forum between 2010 and February 2019.

It has become substantially more popular over the past eight years, with the number of monthly posts rising from fewer than a dozen to up to 500.

The scientists found 58 per cent of all the posts were from people asking for a ‘crowd-diagnosis’.

And almost a third (31 per cent) contained a photograph of the reported symptoms. Some 79 per cent of posts received a reply within a day of of being submitted.

Among post titles at the top of the page today were ‘What is wrong with my penis?’; ‘Is the dermatologist wrong?’ and ‘Is this herpes?’.

Many are accompanied by photographs claiming to be of the posters’ genitals, with some showing obvious signs of sexually transmitted skin infections.

Writing in their paper the researchers, led by Dr John Ayers, said: ‘Although crowd-diagnoses have the benefits of relative anonymity, rapid response, and multiple opinions, the underlying accuracy of crowd-diagnoses is unknown…

‘Responders may be operating with limited information about the patient, and responders may lack medical training.

‘Misdiagnosis could allow ongoing disease transmission, and others viewing a post may wrongly self-diagnose their own conditions.’

Experts at British sexual health charity the Terrence Higgins Trust said online advice was useful but not a substitute for real medical help.

And people should not choose to go online out of embarrassment, they added.

Clinical director at the charity, Liz Porter, told MailOnline: ‘The staff [at sexual health services] are all trained professionals who provide a non-judgmental service.

‘I’ve worked in sexual health for years and I can assure you we’ve seen it all before.

US infections from three sexually transmitted diseases have risen for the fifth consecutive year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Tuesday.

More than 1.7 million cases of chlamydia were reported last year. The infection rate rose three percent from 2017.

It’s the most ever reported in a year, though the trend is mainly attributed to increased testing.

About 580,000 gonorrhea and 35,000 cases of syphilis were reported last year, rivaling records set in 1991.

And, noted the CDC, they are seeing an alarming rise in newborn deaths from congenital syphilis, with nearly 100 infants dying of the disease in 2018.

Rates of gonorrhea reached their the highest number since 1991, increasing five percent between 2017 and 2018.

In 2018, there were an astounding 35,000 confirmed cases of the disease.

And the syphilis rate rose 15 percent with about 35,000 cases of the most contagious forms of the disease were reported – also the most since 1991.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the numbers Tuesday.

The increases coincided with public health funding cuts and clinic closures.

Meanwhile a startling new trend in congenital syphilis has emerged.

Between 2017 and 2018, the number of newborn babies that died of syphilis increased by 22 percent.

Pregnant women with syphilis can pass the infection to the fetus they’re carrying.

A potentially life-threatening sexually transmitted disease has been identified as a deadly weapon in an indictment issued in connection with the rape of an autistic man.

According to a police affidavit, Sterling Jordan, 39, of Manchester was the live-in caregiver of a 26-year-old man, who called his mother right after being attacked. She notified police and said her son has the mental capacity of a 15-year-old.

Jordan, of 39 Mead St., has been charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, a Class B felony. He also faces felony rape charges.

“Certainly it’s serious. Any aggravated felonious sexual assault is serious. Its seriousness, obviously, is reflected in the potential punishment,” said Hillsborough County Attorney Dennis Hogan, whose office is prosecuting the case.

According to a financial affidavit filed by Jordan, he worked for Community Integrated Services, a Manchester-based company that offers day programs, residential services and community support for people with developmental and other disabilities. Their website says they provide staff to care for people with disabilities in their homes.
