New research has found for the first time that PFAS “forever chemicals” accumulate in the testes, and the exposure probably affects children’s health.

The toxic chemicals can damage sperm during a sensitive developmental period, potentially leading to liver disease and higher cholesterol, especially in male offspring, the paper, which looked at the chemicals in mice, noted.

The research is part of a growing body of work that highlights how paternal exposure to toxic chemicals “can really impact the health, development and future diseases of the next generation”, said Richard Pilsner, a Wayne State University School of Medicine researcher who co-authored the study.

“We’ve always been concerned with maternal environmental health effects because women gestate the babies … but this research is really saying there is a paternal contribution to offspring health and development,” Pilsner added.

The study looked at relatively low exposure levels compared with previous research. It also included long- and short-chain PFAS, the latter of which industry has claimed are generally safe and do not accumulate in the body. The study is among a growing body of research that shows the “safe” PFAS can also be measured in tissue or blood in mammals.

Obviously, some of these are a lot bigger problems than others.

Don’t melt your water resistant clothing and then inhale the fumes and don’t drink paint. Bad idea. But the fact that this is in all of your food packaging, most of your deodorants and “skin care” products, all women’s cosmetics, all fast food packaging, all of your food (covered in pesticides) and most of your cookware (virtually all of which is “non-stick,” is probably a bigger issue than your raincoat.

More than 55% of sperm samples from a French infertility clinic contained high levels of glyphosate, the world’s most common weedkiller, raising further questions about the chemical’s impact on reproductive health and overall safety, a new study found.

The new research also found evidence of impacts on DNA and a correlation between glyphosate levels and oxidative stress on seminal plasma, suggesting significant impacts on fertility and reproductive health.

“Taken together, our results suggest a negative impact of glyphosate on human reproductive health and possibly on progeny,” the authors wrote.

The paper comes as researchers look for answers to why global fertility rates are dropping, and many suspect exposure to toxic chemicals like glyphosate is a significant driver of the decline.

The levels French researchers found in sperm were four times higher than in the men’s blood, which the authors wrote is the first time the comparison had been made. They called the finding “worrying”, and it suggests the chemical is particularly dangerous for reproductive systems.

It’s interesting that this is finally a thing now – this discussion of all of these chemicals in the environment.

It’s getting nearly as much play in the British media as the global warming hoax.

The New York Times promoted a leftist sex education activist who founded a “beginner’s sex store” and has authored explicit books intended for a child audience.

The Times has promoted Sex is a Funny Word author Corey Silverberg and his work on multiple occasions, most notably in a June 2022 article titled The Books About Sex That Every Family Should Read.

The article, written by literary critic Elaine Blair, first discusses a book titled It’s So Amazing! A Book About Eggs, Sperm, Birth, Babies, and Families, which was not written by Silverberg and was at one time considered “the standard-bearer of liberal sex education for younger school-age children.”

Blair took issue with the book’s focus on heterosexual couples, remarking that, though gay couples were also included, “All the different kinds of couples did fun things together with their clothes on, but only the man and woman in the previous chapter got to take their clothes off.”

The article, which is part a review of Sex is a Funny Word and part a biography of Silverberg, explains that the author started working at a sex shop at age 17. “Silverberg’s father was a sex therapist, and the job he found for his kid was working as a clerk at Lovecraft, the first sex-toy store in North America owned by women,” the article explains.

“Silverberg is perfectly happy to be going against the liberal pedagogical tendency toward showing kids more,” the article claims. But the book, which is intended for young children, does include mature content, including an illustration accompanying a section called “Touching Yourself.”

In fact, the article omits a number of pertinent facts about both the author and his work, all of which contradict the presentation of Silverberg’s books as innocent and age-appropriate, if unique, material.

The book features a number of other troubling scenes, such as children peeking over a fence into a nudist colony. There are also graphic depictions of genitalia.

The article also does not discuss, for example, the author’s role in founding what was referred to as a “beginner’s sex store.” The store not only sells Silverberg’s books, it also has a concerning history.

The Toronto Star noted that the store had intended to “hold an off-site sex-education workshop for parents of children aged 7 to 12, one that will focus on more than reproduction.” It also quoted Silverberg as saying, “Our overall focus is pleasure-based rather than fear-based.” The store hosted several workshops, including those that featured naked adults performing sex acts on each other.

The author is also directly involved in an organization called Ante Up that seeks to implement leftist curriculum in American schools so that teachers can unlearn “the white supremacist abelist heteropatriarchial ways of writing and educating others.”

The radicalism of the organization is unmistakable. One team member seeks to “utilize multi-disciplinary approaches to discussing Pleasure Activism as a tool for Black Sexual Liberation. Her goal is to infiltrate multi-oppressive systems to secure safe spaces for Black women to unpack intergenerational trauma,” according to her biography on the site.

A different New York Times article from May also highlighted the author’s book You Know, Sex. The review, titled Two Graphic-Style Guidebooks to Calm Kids’ Social Butterflies, written by Rachel Brian, calls the book’s characters “relatable and beautiful while openly challenging social constructs about conventional beauty.”

Brian also notes that the illustrator takes on “our culture of racism, colorism, ableism, body shaming and more, with empowering results.”

She even praises the book, saying “here is a kids’ book that discusses things like nonbinary and trans identities, variously shaped clitorises and penises, H.I.V. stigma, sexual pleasure, miscarriage, asexual feelings and abortion”

Silverberg also joined NPR for an interview to discuss his work and his view for sex education where the author claimed, “Humans have come up with this idea of male and female as categories. And we just say very quickly, there’s more than those two categories.”

Study Finds:

Feeling anxious or afraid for long stretches as a result of major stressors, such as the coronavirus pandemic, may seriously impact a man’s sperm composition, affecting his future offspring. Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine say a recent study shows a biological mechanism resulting from stress can alter sperm and impact the brain development of a child while still in the womb.

The researchers found that the effects of paternal stress could be transferred to offspring via changes in the extracellular vesicles that interact with maturing sperm. Extracellular vesicles are tiny particles that transport proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids between cells in the sperms’ membranes.

“There are so many reasons that reducing stress is beneficial especially now when our stress levels are chronically elevated and will remain so for the next few months,” explains study author Dr. Tracy Bale, a professor of pharmacology and director of the Center for Epigenetic Research in Child Health & Brain Development at the medical school, in a media release. “Properly managing stress can not only improve mental health and other stress-related ailments, but it can also help reduce the potential lasting impact on the reproductive system that could impact future generations.”

Dr. Bale’s team studied vesicles of mice after treatment with the human stress hormone corticosterone. The rodents’ extracellular vesicles showed dramatic changes in their size, as well as protein and small RNA content.

They found that when sperm incubate with previously stressed extracellular vesicles before fertilizing an egg, the mouse pups showed changes in patterns of early brain development, leading to widely different responses to stress when they reach maturity.

The researchers then recruited students from the University of Pennsylvania to donate sperm each month for six months. The students also completed questionnaires about their stress levels in the preceding month. Researchers found that students who had elevated stress levels in months prior had significant changes in the small RNA content of their sperm. Those who had no changes in stress levels saw little or no change.

“Our study shows that the baby’s brain develops differently if the father experienced a chronic period of stress before conception, but we still do not know the implications of these differences,” said Dr. Bale. “Could this prolonged higher level of stress raise the risk for mental health issues in future offspring, or could experiencing stress and managing it well help to promote stress resilience? We don’t really know at this point, but our data highlight why further studies are necessary.”

There’s been news and updates about the murder of a six-year-old girl from the United Kingdom coming in, and the case appears to have been now closed with the conviction of a 16-year-old boy found guilty of raping and murdering her.

But is it actually solved?

The boy’s defense was particularly interesting. He claimed that he had sex with the girlfriend of the father of the murdered girl, and that she took the condom he used, murdered the girl, and put his semen in the girl’s vagina to incriminate him. All of that because she was jealous of the father’s relationship with the girl.

Needless to say, the defense argument was called “preposterous.”

But could it be true?

Six-year-old Alesha’s body was found with 117 injuries in woods on the Isle of Bute last July, just hours after she was reported missing from the house her father shared with his parents on the island. 

She had been staying there for part of the school holidays.

The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, had denied rape, murder and abduction at Glasgow High Court. He blamed the horrific crime on Toni McLachlan, 18, the girlfriend of Alesha’s father Robert MacPhail, 26.

But the jury took just three hours to find the teenager unanimously guilty today. The court will tomorrow discuss whether to lift the boy’s anonymity.

Judge Lord Matthews told the boy he had committed some of the ‘wickedest, most evil crimes this court has ever heard’, as he deferred sentence for the ‘barbaric’ rape and murder until March 21.

The boy faces a sentence of unlimited detention. As he was led downstairs, one man in the public gallery shouted ‘evil’ and Mr MacPhail said ‘f***ing scumbag’.

Following the verdicts, Police Scotland described it as a ‘barbaric murder’, while Alesha’s mother Georgina Lochrane, 24, said she will forever miss her ‘wee pal’.

Lord Matthews told the teenager: ‘I have no idea what made you do this but I do know that the evidence you did it was overwhelming.’

Pathologist John Williams told the court Alesha had 117 separate injuries, and a post-mortem examination he conducted indicated she had died from ‘significant and forceful pressure to her neck and face’.

He agreed the injuries to her private parts were ‘catastrophic’ – more severe than any he had ever seen before – and were at least partially inflicted while she was still alive.

Giving evidence, the accused said he had ‘never met Alesha MacPhail in person’ and denied abducting, raping and murdering her.

A forensic scientist told the court DNA matching the accused was found on Alesha’s body and clothes, with some samples at odds of a billion to one of being his.

The teenager had lodged a special defence of incrimination, blaming Toni McLachlan, the partner of Alesha’s father Robert, or Rab, MacPhail for Alesha’s death.

The court heard the couple used to sell cannabis to the accused.

Giving evidence earlier, Ms McLachlan denied being responsible for the schoolgirl’s death, saying she ‘loved’ her.

Directing the jury earlier today, judge Lord Matthews said that the burden of proof rests with the Crown.

Mr McSporran said yesterday that the accused was telling ‘a pack of lies then [to the police] and a pack of lies in the witness box yesterday’.

He put it to the jury that they had heard no evidence implicating Ms McLachlan in the crime but a ‘mountain of evidence’ linking the accused to it.

He also highlighted the accused telling the court Ms McLachlan could have been ‘fantasising about killing Alesha for months’.

Mr McSporran said: ‘Where did that come from? Who’s been fantasising?’

He said the accused’s claim that Ms McLachlan took the condom the two allegedly used on July 2, went back to the house where she had been staying with her partner, Alesha and the girl’s grandparents, abducted the schoolgirl, carried her to the woods, smothered her to death and then planted the accused’s semen inside her was a ‘preposterous story’.

Mr McSporran added that DNA matching the accused was ‘pretty well all over’ Alesha’s body and clothes and said the Crown’s case is his semen was found inside the six-year-old as he had raped her.

Mr McConnachie told the jury in his closing speech that Ms McLachlan’s friend agreed in her evidence earlier yesterday that the 18-year-old was ‘jealous’ of Alesha and felt ‘threatened’ by the time and attention Mr MacPhail paid his daughter.

Addressing jurors, the lawyer said: ‘You might think that there is a solid basis on the evidence that Toni McLachlan might wish harm on Alesha MacPhail.’

Mr McConnachie said the question the jury needs to address is whether they are satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the accused ‘abducted, raped and murdered a six-year-old girl he had never met before in his life’ before ‘calmly’ walking back home and ‘wandering around his garden like he didn’t have a care in the world’ – as the lawyer said was shown on CCTV – before going to bed.

He highlighted that no DNA from the accused was found in the house where Alesha had been staying and none of the schoolgirl’s DNA or blood was found in the teenager’s home.

No-one heard a thing later as Alesha’s bedroom door was opened and the child was snatched and taken down the stairs.

It makes sense to think that someone close to Alesha would be able to wake her up in the middle of the night and take her somewhere without encountering resistance. An unknown boy, on the other hand…

The house was full of people, yet somehow this boy allegedly knew where Alesha’s bedroom was. It doesn’t really make much sense.

Now, we do know the boy was out the night of Alesha’s murder because of the CCTV footage, but the boy says he was out because he had sex with that Toni slut, and that she took the condom he used.

Are women taking the condoms men use and doing evil stuff with them rare occurrences?

Witness Lynsey Calderwood, 20, told the court she was good friends with Miss McLachlan when Alesha went missing.

A statement she gave to police on July 5 said: ‘I always felt Toni was jealous and she felt threatened of the time and attention Rab (Robert MacPhail) gave to Alesha.’

The witness told the court Ms McLachlan was a ‘wee bit jealous’ but not ‘really jealous’ of Alesha.

She also said that the day after Alesha went missing Toni said something to her along the lines of ‘she’s in a better place’, which she thought was odd.

Her police statement had Ms McLachlan saying ‘something like ‘It’s for the best”. Ms Calderwood said her friend had definitely said ‘she’s in a better place’.

Look. Whether the boy killed her or that Toni goblin did, it’s irrelevant to the fact that you should never ever leave used condoms near women. Don’t give them access to your semen.

If the boy from this story is telling the truth, he could have avoided all of that by not letting a whore take his used condom.

Chemicals, diet, stress, and lifestyle choices have caused the sperm levels of Western men to plummet to less than 50 percent of what they were four decades ago, a new study has found.

The research found that sperm in the ejaculate of men from Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand fell by 1.4 percent every year between 1973 2011, leading to an overall drop of just over 52 percent.

“The results are quite shocking,” said study co-author Hagai Levine, an epidemiologist from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, according to Reuters. He called the results an “urgent wake-up call.”

Levine added that while fertility treatments such as IVF can sometimes offer solutions to the procreating problem, little is being done to address the root of the issue – an overall general decline in men’s health.

Poor sperm counts have also been associated with testicular cancer, increased male mortality rates, children born with one or both testicles missing, and the onset of male puberty, according to the researchers.

“Eventually we may have a problem, and with reproduction in general, and it may be the extinction of the human species,” Levine told the BBC.

Environmental influences, heat, lifestyle factors, diet, stress, smoking, and obesity – both prenatally and in adult life – have all been “plausibly associated” with the decline, according to the study.

In particular, the paper notes, chemical exposures or maternal smoking “during critical windows of male reproductive development may play a role in prenatal life, while lifestyle changes and exposure to pesticides may play a role in adult life.”

Published in the medical journal Human Reproduction Update, the “rigorous and comprehensive” research analyzed data from 185 studies. Researchers from Israel, Denmark, the US, Brazil, and Spain took part in the study.

The trend has not been recorded among men in Africa, Asia, or South America, though the authors concede that fewer studies have been carried out in those regions.

Sperm has been created in a laboratory for the first time, French researchers have claimed, raising hopes of treatment for infertile men.

A company based in in Lyon said they had created human sperm in vitro, a feat which would be a world first.

Isabelle Cuoc, the CEO of the Kallistem laboratory, said: “Kallistem is addressing a major issue whose impacts are felt worldwide: the treatment of male infertility.

“Our team is the first in the world to have developed the technology required to obtain fully formed spermatozoa [sperm] in vitro with sufficient yield for IVF.”

Kallistem said it has taken male fertility tissue, known as spermatogonia, and turned it into mature sperm in test tubes. This complex process usually takes 72 days.

This would benefit tens of thousands of infertile men who cannot develop their own sperm.

But until the publication of a patent on 23 June for the process, called Artisem, the company is refusing to disseminate their results.

The lack of scientific findings published in a peer-reviewed journal has led to experts from around the world calling for caution to be exercised while further work is conducted.

I’m guessing if they actually use these fake sperms, they will lead to all types of genetic problems in the children born from them.

A private Dutch sperm clinic impregnated up to 500 women with the sperm of a mentally handicapped Surinamese man by accident, it has been revealed.

The clinic was also caught falsifying records and storing semen in leaking tanks.

Dutch woman Sonja Noordhoek went to the Humo Medical Center in Bijborp and had two children – a son and a daughter – with the help of the sperm bank. The donor sheet claimed that the sperm came from a Dutch man with two children and a university degree who grew up in South Limburg.

“But while the children were growing up, they were getting darker,” says Sonja. The biological father was then discovered to be an autistic Surinamese man. Sonja said that her daughter did not inherit the mental disability, but her son has some degree of retardation. “I came into contact twelve half brothers and sisters, and ten of them have problems,” Sonja said.

It turns out that the Surinamese man had donated more than was legally allowed, and that this seed was spread throughout the Netherlands and even exported to Austria. It is estimated that between 400 and 500 women have become pregnant with his rotten and corrupted seed.

Jan Karbaat, the doctor who ran the clinic, is under criminal investigation.

Are today’s young men less fertile than their fathers were? It’s a controversy in the fertility field, with some experts raising the alarm over what some are calling a “sperm crisis” because they believe men’s sperm counts have been decreasing for a decade or more.

Experts here for the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology annual conference last week debated the issue for an entire day.

One recent analysis found that in France, the sperm concentration of men decreased by nearly one-third between 1989 and 2005. Most but not all studies from several European nations with large databases and the ability to track health records have found that over the past 15 years or so, the counts of healthy men ages 18 to 25 have significantly decreased. In the U.S., some historical data suggest a decrease in sperm count among American men, but no published recent data exist.

Understanding if men are producing less sperm has implications beyond male fertility and couples who want children. The same environmental factors that might harm reproduction may also impact other parts of the body. Sperm count has even been linked with life expectancy, independent of cause of death.

“It’s a public health indicator,” says Joëlle Le Moal, an epidemiologist at the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance near Paris.

Proponents say that exposure to pesticides, endocrine-disrupting chemicals like Bisphenol A and lifestyle habits like sitting for too long contribute to the proposed sperm crisis. And there is increasing evidence that sperm count, like other health conditions, may be influenced by what happens to people early in life, even in the womb.

“If our gametes, male or female, are not produced in the right manner, it could impact the next generation’s health,” says Dr. Le Moal.

In general, men produce upward of 60 million sperm per milliliter of semen. As long as the count is roughly greater than 40 million per ml, men are considered fertile and have the same chance of getting their partners pregnant as someone who produces a higher count.

But below that threshold and particularly under about 20 million per ml, their ability to help conceive drops. It may take a couple longer than a year to conceive—a problem known as subfertility—or they may not succeed at all.

Not everyone in the field agrees a sperm crisis exists. Critics say that sperm concentration in a population is incredibly difficult to measure for a number of reasons, including the primary one of how to find men representative of the population. Tracking men who show up at a fertility clinic, for instance, would skew the results one way. Neither do sperm donors accurately stand for all the men in a region. Some recent studies have examined young men applying for military service, though the participation rate in the research tends to be low.

In addition, there could be errors in measurement because of any number of immediate environmental factors, including the length of abstinence, scrotal temperature and time of year.
