The FBI is using cellphone data to track everyone who was at the Capitol on January 6, and is just randomly showing up at their houses to question them.

It’s probably going to take a while for them to get to everyone, and there might be some they can’t figure out, but they are using a system where if your cellphone pinged a tower or wifi near the Capitol on that day, they consider you a suspect in an “insurrection.”

WUSA9:

If you were anywhere near the Capitol on Jan. 6, you may be getting a knock on your door from the FBI.

A D.C. woman said an agent visited her neighbor and called her, telling them investigators were tracking people whose cell phones connected to wi-fi or pinged cell phone towers near the Capitol during the riots.

“They don’t call first, they just come to your house,” Bree Stevens, a legal investigator who lives near Capitol Hill, said.

Stevens said an FBI agent told her they were reaching out to every single person whose cell phone put them near the Capitol during the riots.

She was out for a walk with a friend and his two young daughters on the afternoon of Jan. 6, but they were diverted by bomb scares until they ended up right next to the insurrection. Adults and kids were cordoned off and unable to get back to their apartments for four hours.

“You don’t want to be anywhere where they’re going to go!” she said on a video she shot while police officers in riot gear quick-stepped toward the Capitol.

This is obviously a new, insane sort of police state abuse, but hey – gotta protect those podiums.

It’s just like that old cellphone spy meme.

These cellphones were always obviously a major security risk, but it’s now at the point where it’s just not even viable to own one at all if you don’t want the FBI tracking your every move and using it against you.

They were always tracking your every move, but they weren’t generally able to use it against people on a mass scale like this.

So you should probably consider getting rid of your phone.

This is sort of thing is going to be used to enforce the coronavirus lunacy as well, very soon.

We are living in a pathocracy.

Apple Might Call Its Legacy Model the iPhone 9 https://www.anglinarchive.com/2019/12/08/apple-might-call-its-legacy-model-the-iphone-9/ Sun, 08 Dec 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Andrew Anglin

Calling the iPhone 8s the “iPhone X,” and then deciding that the “X” meant “10” and calling its successor the iPhone 11 was some really tacky crap. The sort of thing that never would have happened under Steve Jobs.

I guess someone told them to fix it?

techradar:

It’s been a long wait for the successor to the iPhone SE, which launched in 2016 and is no longer available directly from Apple – but it now seems very likely that a 2020 follow-up is planned, and perhaps under a new name.

Japanese blog Macotakara, which has had a decent record with Apple predictions in the past, cites an insider source as saying the new budget iPhone will be called the iPhone 9, not the iPhone SE 2.

The iPhone 9 moniker is certainly available – remember in 2017, Apple needed a successor to the iPhone 7 phones, as well as something to mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone, so we got the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

If Macotakara’s source is correct, the iPhone 9 name will be used at last, three years later. It will also better position the phone as the successor to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which are currently the cheapest iPhones Apple sells directly.

This is stupid and weird and I hate Apple now.

Diversity is making everything shitty.

Imagine where Apple would be if they’d decided it was okay to hire the person most qualified for the job – who would have likely been a straight white male – instead of feeling a need to get a diversity hire and putting in the faggot Rim Cook.

Apple Removes Glorious Duterte Video Games from App Store to Protect Feelings of Whining Junkies! https://www.anglinarchive.com/2017/12/01/apple-removes-glorious-duterte-video-games-from-app-store-to-protect-feelings-of-whining-junkies/ Fri, 01 Dec 2017 00:00:00 +0000 Adrian Sol

Wh… what have I been missing out on?

Everyone loves based president Duterte and stands 100% in solidarity with his crusade to purge the Philippines of crime and degeneracy. We all admire his heroic courage and stoic determination. As such, it was only a matter of time before scores of video games featuring the flip strongman started being developed and released, to public acclaim.

But the fun couldn’t last.

Hateful junkies have banded together and lobbied Apple to take these joyful games off of their online store, under the misguided pretense that junkies deserve to live!

Wew.

BBC:

Video games that put the player in the shoes of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte as he kills criminals have been removed from Apple’s app store.

Popular games with titles such as “Duterte knows Kung Fu: Pinoy Crime Fighter” have disappeared from the company’s digital shop.

A drug users’ advocacy group said it had been campaigning for their removal.

Thousands of people have been killed by police during the president’s crackdown on drug-related crime.

Duterte’s glock has infinite bullets, and he’s coming for your police badges. Just like in real life.

The Asian Network of People Who Use Drugs (Anpud) had previously written an open letter to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook to remove the games, which it said were “promoting murder, extrajudicial killings, violence, and the war on drugs in the Philippines”.

I’ve got just one question.

How stupid do you have to be to be taking advice from people who admit to being high on drugs? I for one wouldn’t change the way I run my multi-billion-dollar business based on the ideas of heroin junkies. But then again, I’m not a faggot like Tim Cook, so maybe there’s something I’m missing there.

“We did not receive a direct response from Mr Cook or Apple,” the group said in a statement. “However, most of the apps no longer appear”.

The games that Anpud said had now disappeared include:

  • Duterte knows Kung Fu: Pinoy Crime Fighter
  • Duterte Running Man Challenge Game
  • Fighting Crime 2
  • Tsip Bato: Ang Bumangga Giba!

All those games featured either President Duterte, or Philippines police chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa shooting down criminals, it said.

Some similar games are still available on the rival Google Play store, which provides apps for users of the Android mobile operating system. A few claim to feature shooting zombies rather than humans.

So many games… So little time… I’ll have to make playing Duterte games my full time job from now on.

Will Google cuck as well? I sure hope not. Without Duterte games, what the hell am I supposed to with my spare time?

Innovative New Dildo Spies on Users https://www.anglinarchive.com/2017/11/12/innovative-new-dildo-spies-on-users/ Sun, 12 Nov 2017 00:00:00 +0000 Adrian Sol

Bring your degeneracy to the whole world!

The number one problem stopping innovation in the realm of dildotech has been that the dildos didn’t spy on their users.

Now that barrier has been overcome.

Can you imagine the brave new world of possibilities opening up in front of us? Is there any doubt now that humanity has infinite potential to rise above the limits imposed by nature?

Some credible experts believe that aliens form a blockade around the earth, preventing contact with the broader galactic community, until we’ve reached a sufficiently high level of technological and social advancement. I think we’ve just crossed that frontier.

We can expect aliens to come down and make contact, now. Or purge the earth with orbital strikes. Either way, neat!

The Verge:

I have some news: the Internet of Things is a mess. A hacked refrigerator sounds slightly scary, but a vibrator-controlling app that records all your sex sounds and stores them on your phone without your knowledge? That’s way worse.

Today, a Reddit user pointed out that Hong Kong-based sex toy company Lovense’s remote control vibrator app (Lovense Remote) recorded a use session without their knowledge. An audio file lasting six minutes was stored in the app’s local folder. The users says he or she gave the app access to the mic and camera but only to use with the in-app chat function and to send voice clips on command — not constant recording when in use. Other users confirmed this app behavior, too.

A user claiming to represent Lovense responded and called this recording a “minor bug” that only affects Android users.Lovense also says no information or data was sent to the company’s servers, and that this audio file exists only temporarily. An update issued today should fix the bug. We’ve reached out to Lovense to verify this comment and will update when we hear back.

Yeah, I’m sure the chinks totally aren’t thinking of building up databanks of blackmail information on upper class members of their competitor nations (who are the main target demographic for this kind of stupid gadget).

Just what the devious Chinese would think up.

This isn’t Lovense’s first security flub. Earlier this year, a butt plug made by the company — the Hush — was also found to be hackable. In the butt plug’s case, the vulnerability had to do with Bluetooth, as opposed to the company spying on users. In a separate case unrelated to the Lovense, a company called We-Vibe was sued after after its Bluetooth-enabled vibrators allegedly collected and recorded users’ personal information. The company ended up settling the class-action suit for $3.75 million.

Can you imagine having your butt plug hacked? I can’t, personally. I don’t even understand what that would entail. But if they paid millions in reparation, it must have been bad.

What a future we have in front of us. Chink pirates everywhere, trying to hack into people’s buttholes. Somehow, I can believe it.

Forget about galactic empires – this is it.

New Android App Allows Everyone to See Who Is a Gun Owner in their Neighborhood https://www.anglinarchive.com/2013/08/12/new-android-app-allows-everyone-to-see-who-is-a-gun-owner-in-their-neighborhood/ Mon, 12 Aug 2013 00:00:00 +0000 Matt Liponoga

geolocate

There’s a new application in the Android Marketplace, and it may be exposing the fact that you’re a gun owner to the entire world.

University of California San Diego lecturer Brett Stalbaum has released an app to the Android Marketplace which encourages users to mark, on a map, the location of “irresponsible gun owners.”

The applications’s entire purpose is to document and map the personal addresses of people who own guns. The “irresponsible” part of that is completely at the discretion of the person making the posting.

According to the “marking guidelines” for the app:

…unlocked, loaded or carelessly stored weapons should generally be treated with concern by friends, neighbors and visitors. The locations of such careless owners should probably be marked so that others can make an informed decision.
