A fan who racially abused Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr and Villarreal player Samuel Chukwueze in two games at Mallorca last year has been found guilty and handed a suspended prison sentence, Real Madrid said on Thursday.

The aggressor, who was not named in the La Liga club’s statement, had his 12-month sentence suspended after apologising in a letter to Vinicius and doing anti-discrimination training.

He was also banned from stadiums for three years.

“This is the third criminal conviction handed down in recent months for racist insults received by Real Madrid players,” Real the team said. “Real Madrid … will keep working to protect the club’s values and erradicate any racist behaviour in the world of football and sport.”

Someone has to protect the feelings of the blacks.

They sure as hell can’t do it themselves.

Real Madrid said Wednesday that a Spanish court has given a suspended eight-month prison sentence to a person who racially insulted soccer stars Vinícius Júnior and Antonio Rudiger in the comments section of a popular Spanish sports news website.

Why did the soccer club announce the court ruling?

Is that strange at all?

The club said that the offender, whose name was not given, was found guilty of harming the moral integrity of the players, both of whom are Black. The person also reportedly used hateful language to denigrate Rudiger’s Islamic faith.

The offender avoided prison after agreeing to participate in an anti-discrimination awareness program, the club said. Madrid said the comments appeared on the Marca website.

In June, three Valencia fans were handed eight-month prison sentences after pleading guilty to racially insulting Vinícius during a Spanish league game in May 2023. That was the first conviction for racism-related cases in professional soccer in Spain.

A court in the Spanish city of Valencia has sentenced three football fans to eight months in prison for racially abusing Real Madrid and Brazil star striker Vinicius Junior.

The trio, whose names have not been made public, were found guilty of a crime against moral integrity with the aggravating circumstance of discrimination based on racist motives.

“This first criminal conviction in Spanish history is not for me. It’s for all Black people,” Junior wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“But, as I’ve always said, I’m not a victim of racism. I’m a destroyer of racists. Let the other racists be afraid, ashamed and hide in the shadows. Otherwise, I’ll be here to collect the debt,” he wrote in Portuguese.

As is common with jail sentences under two years in Spain, the sentences are suspended. The three men have also been banned from Spanish football stadiums for two years and were ordered to pay all legal costs.

The sentence marks the first ever racism-related conviction in professional football in Spain after several similar cases had been shelved in the past.

During a Spanish league game between Valencia and Real Madrid at Valencia’s Mestalla Stadium on May 21, 2023, the three men were found to have shouted racist insults at Vinicius and made racist “monkey” gestures in the direction of the 23-year-old.

OMG his poor feelings.

The men were detained , but the incident caused the match to be briefly halted and later caused uproar in Spain and an outpouring of sympathy for Vinicius.

Many saw it as a turning point in the fight against racism in Spanish football, although Vinicius continued to be subjected to racist abuse several months afterwards, with some commentators and pundits even suggesting that Vinicius’ own behavior on the pitch was to blame.

In handing down the sentence, the court said that the men’s shouts and gestures had caused Vinicius to suffer “feelings of frustration, shame and humiliation which undermined his dignity.”

The defendants all pleaded guilty, demonstrated regret and accepted their legal culpability.

Why are they so sensitive?

Spanish police have arrested three unnamed Real Madrid reserve players for allegedly distributing a sexual video featuring a minor, with the arrests heightening the furore about sexism and male behaviour in Spanish football.

The players, who are not minors, were released following a court decision and after the data on their mobile phones was seized, police said in a statement on Thursday.

The case stems from a complaint filed by the mother of a 16-year-old girl in the Canary Islands regarding an alleged recording of sexual relations, police said. They added that while the girl maintained the relations were consensual, the recording took place in June without her consent and that she had recently become aware of it.

According to El Confidencial newspaper, the main subject of the probe is a player in the third team, who allegedly recorded his sexual relationship with the 16-year-old.

All three are suspected of committing a felony known in Spanish criminal law as “revealing secrets of a sexual nature”, a police spokesperson said.

The Spanish are saying that there are as many as 20 players involved with distributing the video. It’s not clear if she had sex with all 20, but knowing what I know about women, I would assume that she probably did.

Just as women are obsessed with having sex with serial killers and spree-shooters, they are obsessed with trying to have sex with entire sports teams. There is a word for women who want to have sex with men who may kill them – “autassassinophilia.” There should be a word for women who want to have sex with entire sports teams – “multiathletaeophilia.”

In terms of the whole “revenge porn” (or “exposing sexual secrets”) thing… if you’re going to give women the full and total benefit of the doubt on this, then it has to only be valid when the video is secretly recorded. At least that makes some kind of sense. But if during sex, you’re holding the phone and she sees the phone and doesn’t tell you to put it away, I just can’t possibly comprehend how it can be a crime to share the video.

Why does she think you’re recording it, if not to share?

So many of these laws come down to “women are retarded, and it’s illegal to not treat them like retards who don’t know anything at all.” I’m actually okay with that being the basis of the legal system, but if this is the core assumption, then women should not have rights at all. Either they’re empowered and the same as men and deserve all the same rights as men, in which case they have to be held responsible for their actions, or they are retards incapable of any form of personal responsibility, in which case they can’t have all these same rights as men.

Based on the current situation, where women are advertised as being just as capable and intelligent as men, it is only logical that a woman is capable of assuming that if you are recording her during sex, at some point, people are going to see that video. Obviously, no man would allow a sex act to be recorded unless he was comfortable with the world seeing it.

In the pre-feminist era, there would maybe be an argument here, which would be “you should have known that women are retarded.” But everything in society, all the time, is telling us that women are definitely not retarded, and their legal rights are shaped around the assumption that women are not retarded.

There’s no internal consistency with any of this feminist stuff. It goes both ways – women have more power than they used to and they have less responsibility than they used to. It would not work to only go one way or the other, so feminism has to do both at once.

Spanish prosecutors have opened an investigation over racist chants hurled at Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior during a weekend match, as the head of Spain’s football federation admitted the country had a “problem” with racism.

The prosecutor’s office in the eastern city of Valencia, where the game took place, was investigating the incident as a possible “hate crime”, judicial sources said, after Luis Rubiales of the Royal Spanish Football Federation called for zero tolerance.

Officials, players and former players in Brazil and Spain showed solidarity with 22-year-old Vinícius, who on Sunday considered leaving the field after facing racist taunts from fans during Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss at Valencia in the Spanish league.

“We have a problem of behaviour, of education, of racism,” Rubiales said. “And as long as there is one fan or one group of fans making insults based on someone’s sexual orientation or skin colour or belief, then we have a serious problem.”

Valencia said it had banned one of its fans for life and was looking to identify others. “The club has analysed all the available footage, working alongside the authorities as rapidly as possible to clarify what happened,” it said in a statement.

Real Madrid said it strongly condemned the incident, which it believed to be a hate crime. “These events represent a direct attack on the social and democratic model of coexistence of our state based on the rule of law,” the club said.

Speaking after Sunday’s game, Real Madrid’s Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti, said the racist abuse – in which Vinícius was repeatedly called a “monkey” – highlighted how “something bad is happening in this league”.

The Spanish league has made nine similar formal complaints for racist abuse against Vinícius over the past two seasons, most of which have been shelved. Fans have been fined and banned from stadiums, but so far only a Mallorca supporter may end up going on trial for allegedly racially insulting the Brazilian during a game.

Brazil has one of the highest murder rates on earth, mostly blacks killing each other. Why doesn’t Lula do something about that if he cares about blacks so much?

The first ever trial of a fan accused of racial abuse in Spanish professional football is expected to happen at some point this year in a case involving the Athletic Bilbao forward Iñaki Williams, who was insulted by an Espanyol supporter during a match in 2020.

“Nothing will happen, because this has already taken place several times in other stadiums and nothing has been done,” Ancelotti said on Monday. “Nothing. We have to evaluate this situation, because it is very serious.”

Vinícius himself claimed Spain was now known “as a country of racists” in Brazil. “Racism is normal in La Liga,” he wrote on Twitter. “This championship which was once that of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi now is that of racists.”

Brazil’s president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, called on Fifa and La Liga to take “serious measures” after Sunday’s scenes at Valencia’s Mestalla stadium. “We cannot allow fascism and racism to seize control of football stadiums,” Lula said.

“It’s unjust that a poor kid who’s done so well in life, who may be on his way to becoming the best in the world – he’s certainly the best at Real Madrid – gets insulted at every stadium where he plays,” the Brazilian president said in Japan.

Cabinet members, including the justice minister, Flávio Dino, also demanded action from Spanish authorities. “This is deplorable, unacceptable and there must be consequences,” Dino tweeted.

This is goofy as heck, but whatever.

Spanish football giants Real Madrid are dropping the traditional Christian cross from their crest on sportswear sold in the Middle East to avoid offending Muslim fans.

The move comes as part of a deal with UAE retail group Marka which has won exclusive rights to “manufacture, distribute and sell Real Madrid products” in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.

The original club crest features a Christian cross at the top of a crown but Marka vice vhairman Khaled al-Mheiri said a redesigned version without the cross would be used in the region due to cultural sensitivities.

Mr al-Mheiri, who also owns a Real Madrid-themed cafe in Dubai, said: “We have to be sensitive towards other parts of the Gulf that are quite sensitive to products that hold the cross.”

The six Gulf Arab countries where Marka will sell and distribute Real Madrid products are all Muslim-majority.

The agreement allows Marka to sell clothing such as t-shirts, polo shirts and swim wear featuring the Real Madrid name and crest.

The deal does not cover replica jerseys which are sold in Dubai featuring the cross.

This is not the first time the symbol has been altered.

In 2014, Real Madrid removed the Christian cross from its crest when used by its sponsor the National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

If spreading religious intolerance is the goal, a Middle Eastern bank has scored by prompting Real Madrid to alter its world-famous logo so that a small cross does not appear on an officially-licensed credit card.

The Spanish soccer giant unveiled the adjusted logo that will adorn a new credit card issued by the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, reported The Algemeiner. The new logo looks exactly like the club’s 83-year-old trademark, except for the absence of a tiny Christian cross that normally sits at the top.

The logo change was agreed to by the world’s wealthiest sports team, valued at nearly $3.5 billion, in order to avoid offending Muslim sensibilities as the team and the bank enter a three-year “strategic alliance,” according to Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez.

“I know that the local people experience every match in a special way and that our links with the UAE are constantly growing stronger,” Perez said recently. “This agreement will help the club to keep conquering the hearts of followers in the United Arab Emirates.”

Noted Spanish soccer website Marca: “from the looks of things, the club is willing to compromise on aspects of its identity in pursuit of these new fans.”
