A woman has been arrested after the emergence of a social media video apparently showing a prison officer having sex with an inmate in a cell.

The Metropolitan police said it began investigating on Friday after being made “aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth”, adding that a woman had been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office the same day and remained in custody.

It is not known when the footage, which showed an officer initially in full uniform, was filmed.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “A police investigation was launched on 28 June after officers were made aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth.

“A woman was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on 28 June. She has been taken into police custody.

“Inquiries continue. We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice.”

At least 30 Kentucky prison guards had inappropriate relations with inmates in just 16 months — with one female staffer becoming pregnant by a prisoner — while another 14 smuggled in drugs, according to a report.

After a protracted battle with state officials over records access, The Herald-Leader newspaper obtained a trove of internal reports that offered a rare glimpse into official misconduct behind prison walls.

The documents pertained to cases that arose over 16 months, ending in November 2023.

In one incident, Trista Fox, 39, was charged with third-degree rape in December 2022 after fellow guards walked in on her having sex with a Kentucky State Penitentiary inmate in Lyon County.

Anders Behring Breivik, the far-right fanatic who killed 77 people in a bombing and shooting rampage in Norway in 2011, will testify in court on Tuesday as he presses on with a lawsuit to end his years of isolation in prison.

The 44-year-old, who emailed out copies of a manifesto before his attacks setting out his theories, is also suing the state in a bid to lift restrictions on his correspondence with the outside world.

Breivik killed eight people with a car bomb in Oslo and gunned down 69 others, most of them teenagers, on Utoeya island. He has been held in isolation ever since.

He is scheduled to start testifying at 2 p.m. local time(1300 GMT).

“I want to hear him directly, not via the media,” said Freddy Lie, the father of two daughters who were at Utoeya in 2011 – one was shot dead, the other was wounded but survived.

Lie was present at the first day of the legal proceedings on Monday and told Reuters he was planning to attend on Tuesday.

Some journalists had asked Judge Birgitte Kolrud to let them broadcast Breivik’s testimony. But she ruled against that last week saying there was a risk his statement could become a platform for his views rather than testimony about his jail conditions.

Breivik’s lawyers argue Norway is breaching the European Convention on Human Rights, including sections saying no one should be subject to “torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”.

Lawyers for the Justice Ministry say the curbs are necessary as Breivik remains a threat and could inspire others to commit violence.

He was only jailed foe 21 years. They denied him parole, but they can’t keep him past 2032, which is apparently not very far away.

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of George Floyd’s murder, was seriously injured in a prison stabbing Friday, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the incident said.

Chauvin was being held at the medium-security Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, when the incident took place, the source said.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons would not confirm the victim of an attack at that facility on Friday is Derek Chauvin, but it offered other details in a statement, including that the victim was hospitalized.

The assault took place about 12:30 p.m., the bureau of prisons said, and “responding employees initiated life-saving measures for one incarcerated individual.”

The patient’s condition was not immediately available.

Garcia, 55, has pleaded not guilty and this week became the first to go to trial before a judge at Oakland’s federal courthouse.

His attorney, James Reilly, maintains that a lack of video depicting any of Garcia’s purported abuses means he cannot be convicted. Three others have pleaded guilty, and another is scheduled to be tried next year.

The case against the retired warden stands out because he was the highest-ranking federal prison official arrested in more than 10 years, charged with abusing at least three women under his purview between December 2019 and July 2021.

It has also drawn attention because the prison he once ran briefly housed actors Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman over their roles in the 2019 national college admissions scandal. There is no indication that either celebrity met Garcia while they served their relatively short sentences.

The woman ultimately realized that Garcia was carrying on similarly with other women at the prison before reporting him to the FBI and getting transferred to another facility, where she described being scorned as a “snitch” for speaking up.

Another woman testified on Wednesday that Garcia showed her two cellphone photos of his genitals and kissed her. Then, when she was later living at a halfway house, he took nude photos of her during video calls – something to which she didn’t consent and initially didn’t know about, she testified.

The woman said she learned of the photos Garcia had furtively snapped after federal authorities subpoenaed her to testify against him.

Media have not published the women’s identities, citing a policy against naming victims of sexual violence.

A trans prisoner has been moved to a different prison after getting two fellow inmates pregnant.

Demi Minor, who was jailed for 30 years for stabbing her former foster father to death is now being held on a vulnerable unit at a men’s prison in New Jersey.

She was moved from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility last month.

In a post on her Justice 4 Demi blog, Minor claimed that she was mocked and strip searched by officers.

She also wrote she had been spat at by fellow inmates as part of ‘psychological damage’ experienced.

In a different post, she claimed she was beaten during the transfer and said she was misgendered multiple times.

Minor’s case hit the headlines earlier this year when it was revealed she had impregnated two other inmates at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility.

In each incident, the women had engaged in ‘consensual sexual relationships with another incarcerated person’, NJ.com was told.

The Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, which can house up to 800 inmates, welcomed transgender women last year.

As a result of the earlier pregnancies, the New Jersey Corrections Department said it was reviewing its policy with ‘implementing minor modifications.’

There are currently 27 trans inmates at the site.

Minor, who has advocated for prisoners’ rights and various committees during her jailtime, has been detailing her experience in her online blog.

The 27-year-old was placed on suicide watch by prison staff after she tried to hang herself on the van journey to the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, she added.

An Italian prisoner has shot at fellow inmates through the bars of their cell with a weapon believed to have been smuggled in by drone.

The 28-year-old man, who has links to the Neapolitan mafia, fired three shots on Sunday at prisoners he had argued with, but without injuring them, said Donato Capece, the head of the Sappe prison union.

The man had got permission to leave his cell to have a shower, and once the door was open he pulled out the gun and pointed it at a guard, forcing him to hand over his keys to the other cells, Capece said.

Unable to open the cells of his enemies, the inmate shot through the bars instead.

The man then used an illegal mobile phone to call his lawyer, who advised him to turn his weapon over to the authorities in the high-security prison, about 60 miles (100km) south-east of the capital, Rome.

“We assume that the weapon arrived by drone,” Capece said.

This retard just added some extra years to his sentence, presumably a lot of them, for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

If he had killed or hurt whoever it was he wanted to shoot, he could’ve at least made a name for himself.
