We all know that you can’t spell “rape” without “ape.”

With a name like “Israel Olabode,” though, this man is clearly a black Israelite – and that means he should be holding himself to a higher standard than the common jiggaboo.

What would Moses, Abraham and all his other black-skinned ancestors think of this brutal and shocking crime?

Portsmouth:

A man who stormed into a woman’s flat and raped her has today been found guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Israel Olabode, 25, of St John’s Mews, Victoria Grove, Southsea, barged into the victim’s flat on October 5 last year after she had previously rejected his advances.

Armed with a kitchen knife he attacked and raped her. He then left the flat, leaving the victim with substantial injuries to her hand and cuts and bruises to her face.

A jury found him guilty of two counts of rape, unlawful wounding, assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Olabode will be sentenced on Friday, April 26.

Following the court hearing DI Johnstone said: ‘This was a particularly violent and disturbing rape.

‘Understandably this was a very traumatic ordeal for the victim; I would like to commend her on her bravery and courage, which has helped secure today’s guilty verdict. I hope this will help her to start to move forward with her life.’

And, of course, the chase was triggered by a “domestic assault.”

Portsmouth police have filed charges in connection to a deadly weekend crash that stemmed from a police chase.

Officers responded to a call about a domestic assault happening inside of a car on Princeton Place on Dec. 8. A car being driven by 40-year-old Tony Bennett took off when officers arrived on scene, according to police.

Police said the chase ended when Bennett crashed on Rodman and Kingman avenues.

A passenger in the car, 35-year-old Jeanne Chop, died at the hospital. Bennett was hospitalized with serious injuries following the crash.

Police said in a news release Bennett faces several charges in connection to the incident: Felony homicide, aggravated manslaughter, DUI, felony eluding, driving while revoked — 3rd or subsequent offense, no insurance, vehicle not registered and no seatbelt.

Police said Bennett had been previously wanted for assault on a law enforcement officer.

Court records show Bennett was previously charged in October after officers allegedly found him asleep at the wheel on Deep Creek Boulevard.

Officers used a taser on Bennett, who took off running before before he tripped and was taken into custody. Documents show officers found marijuana and crack cocaine in Bennett’s vehicle during that incident.

The brother of a Muslim fanatic who died in Syria after bragging about his ‘5-star jihad’ has been charged with preparing to carry out terrorist acts.

Mustakim Jaman, 23, was arrested, along with his parents after police raided their Portsmouth home last week.

His brother, Ifthekar Jaman, 23, died last year in a battlefield clash 2,000 miles from his Hampshire home last December after declaring he was ready to die a martyr.

He became one of the most infamous British extremists when he boasted on BBC Newsnight that the ‘holy war’ in Syria was like ‘5-star jihad’ because of its ‘relaxing’ nature.

Mustakim Jaman went on Newsnight to defend his brother, saying he died ‘doing a good deed’ and was always trying to be the ‘best Muslim’ he could.

He was arrested by the south-east counter-terrorism unit on 14 October on suspicion of being involved in a Syria-related terrorism plot.

The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster magistrates court in London tomorrow.

Jaman was arrested alongside his brother, Tuhim, 26, and his parents, Enu Miah, 57, and mother, Hena Choudhury.

His parents were released on bail on 15 October.

Jaman’s 29-year-old sister Tamannah Shaharin, was also arrested in Greenwich, south east London.

FORMER city social worker Mudassar Khan has been struck off after he was convicted of distributing and possessing indecent photographs of children.

Khan, 26, is understood to have worked at Portsmouth City Council for 11 months in 2011.

Last December he was jailed for two years at Winchester Crown Court after he was convicted of 16 counts of distributing indecent photographs of children and possession of indecent photographs of children.

The charges related to thousands of images.

A conduct and competence committee at the Health and Care Professions Council met and decided he should be struck off the register.

Panel chair Christine Mills said: ‘While the registrant is not at liberty to further remedy his behaviour the matters involved are so serious that they are arguably beyond repair and will have had lasting damage on his reputation and his profession.

‘The nature, gravity and number of images involved, the fact that they had been distributed, and the age of those involved were such that the panel came to the decision that the only proportionate and appropriate measure in this instance is to remove the registrant from the register.’

The panel said Khan worked at both Portsmouth and Southampton social services, between 2009 and 2011, including for children’s services and in the children in need section. He was not present or represented at the meeting.

A man was arrested Tuesday, April 29, in a cold case going back three years.

Donald Richardson Jr., 52, of Portsmouth, Ohio was arrested in connection with the murder of Donald Kidd of Ashland, Kentucky. Richardson Jr. is charged with six felonies including murder, felonious assault, arson, abuse of a corpse, and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Kidd’s body was found inside his car after it was set on fire on the 1000 block of 15th Street. An autopsy revealed Kidd died from a gunshot wound, not due to a fire.

Richardson is being held at the Scioto County Jail.

Kidd was a former car salesman at Superior Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Ashland. One of his former co-workers David Blatt was really happy to finally have a break in the case.  “We really loved Don and enjoyed working with him. The day he didn’t show up for it was very depressing for all of us, so this is an exciting time to hear good things for us and his family to maybe get some closure to what was going on.”
