Polar bears in Canada’s Western Hudson Bay — on the southern edge of the Arctic — are continuing to die in high numbers, a new government survey of the land carnivore has found. Females and bear cubs are having an especially hard time.

Researchers surveyed Western Hudson Bay — home to Churchill, the town called ‘the Polar Bear Capital of the World,’ — by air in 2021 and estimated there were 618 bears, compared to the 842 in 2016, when they were last surveyed.

“The actual decline is a lot larger than I would have expected,” said Andrew Derocher, a biology professor at the University of Alberta who has studied Hudson Bay polar bears for nearly four decades. Derocher was not involved in the study.

Since the 1980s, the number of bears in the region has fallen by nearly 50%, the authors found. The ice essential to their survival is disappearing.

Polar bears rely on arctic sea ice — frozen ocean water — that shrinks in the summer with warmer temperatures and forms again in the long winter. They use it to hunt, perching near holes in the thick ice to spot seals, their favorite food, coming up for air. But as the Arctic has warmed twice as fast as the rest of the world because of climate change, sea ice is cracking earlier in the year and taking longer to freeze in the fall.

That has left many polar bears that live across the Arctic with less ice on which to live, hunt and reproduce.

Thankfully, this isn’t even real.

Women are used to wasting the time of men without suffering any kind of consequence.

But this time, there were consequences.

A mating date for two polar bears went badly wrong at a Russian zoo when the male suddenly killed the female as she rejected him as they were poised to copulate.

Aurora had been moved 1,900 miles from Krasnoyarsk in Siberia to Izhevsk in the Urals to be introduced to giant male Baloo.

Perhaps there was a clue of trouble ahead in their first meeting when a video shows how she inspected the male, before turning and walking in the opposite direction.

Yet during a two-week ‘courtship’ they played, basked in the sun, and swam together, and it appeared Aurora was ‘receptive’.

Keepers watched and waited for the key moment – but it ended in tragedy.

Head of Royev Ruchey zoo in Krasnoyarsk, Andrey Gorban, said: ‘At the very moment he mounted her, something went wrong.

‘Aurora showed her character, and Baloo was furious.’

The aggressive attack is believed to be the first of its kind in captivity.

Zoo staff threw water and shot a sedative at Baloo but it was too late.

In seconds he had savaged and killed the smaller female.

When you’re sexually interested in a woman, you have to get the sex before you give up your time and attention.

Baloo, in a display of good will, gave her his time and attention before he obtained sex, and the traitorous slut, having achieved everything she wanted, decided that she didn’t need to give anything in return, and she got what she deserved.

Similar scenarios play out all of the time in the human world, where thirsty males shower women with attention without ever getting any kind of physical contact in return, with the exception that human males tend to double down on their time investment when the female rejects them instead of pulling a Baloo.

That’s not how modern heterosexual relationships work.

From the moment you meet her and in every interaction, you have to figure out a way to initiate any kind of physical contact with her, and once you do that, you have to continue pushing the threshold until you get what you want.

You can’t just try to mount her after two weeks of playing friendship and expect her to be receptive.

By making your intentions clear, you are forcing her to decide whether she wants to engage you on that level. She knows your intentions either way. She knows she’s got nothing going for her other than a moist hole between her legs which a man can in theory put a penis into and pull a baby out of. If you pretend like something else is going on, something different than seeking access to this gooey hole, she interprets that as weakness and views you as someone she can exploit for emotional and physical resources.

Sadly, that’s what most men do these days.

This is a funny story.

But it actually happens regularly, and has happened as long as the village has been there, and it has nothing to do with global warming.

The village is literally inside of the natural habitat of the bears.

More than 50 polar bears have descended on a village in Russia’s far north.

All public activities in Ryrkaypiy, in Chukotka region, have been cancelled, and schools are being guarded to protect residents from the bears.

Conservationists say climate change could be to blame, with weak coastal ice forcing the bears to search for food in the village rather than at sea.

Other experts have said polar bear visits are now so frequent, Ryrkaypiy should be permanently evacuated.

Tatyana Minenko, head of Ryrkaypiy’s bear patrol programme, told Ria Novosti that they had counted 56 polar bears in the village.

The animals were “both adult and young… there were females with cubs of different ages”, she said – adding that almost all of them appeared to be thin.

While the odd bear has always wandered in, 200 of them came down in 2017. Instead of blaming it on the global warming hoax, at that time they stated the fact it was because of a herd of walruses moving south.

Around 20 beasts have surrounded  Ryrkaypiy, with one bear cub trying to get into a house through the window.

The polar bears were attracted by 5,000 walruses that appeared this year at a special protection zone in Chukotka.

Many of the frightened flippered marine mammals fell off cliffs at Kozhevnikova Cape as they sought to flee the invaders.

Several hundred fell to their deaths, and the polar bears then ate the carcasses.

Head of WWF project Polar Bear Patrol, Viktor Nikiforov, said: ‘This autumn the situation is alarming.

‘Many crashed, falling from a height.

‘Their rookery had attracted polar bears.

‘The walruses were obviously frightened by the predators, panicked and fell from the top to their deaths.’

‘Up to 5,000 walruses were on the rookery, but there were a lot of dead animals – several hundred…

Now the walruses have migrated away but the village remains surrounded.

‘Now the walruses are gone, but about 20 polar bears remain practically next to the village,’ he said.

‘There is enough food for them (from the many fallen walruses), but several young bears approach to the houses out of curiosity.

‘Three days ago, a bear squeezed in a window and tried to get inside.

‘It’s clear that people are frightened.’

Polar bears do not actually live on the North Pole. They just live in the far north.

The bears are not moving outside of their normal habitat, it is simply that people have moved into theirs.

The village was set up by native Eskimo-type Russians to hunt walruses, which the polar bears also hunt.

Then during the Soviet era, it was collectivized as a reindeer farm, where they would raise herds of reindeer.

I can’t find anything about it in English, but I would assume that the expansion of the village made it a target for polar bears, who, like all other bears, will eat trash, as well as probably small reindeer.

Whatever the case, it’s definitely a problem these people have been dealing with since long before anyone ever heard of global warming, or climate change.

And it’s certainly gotten worse since there was a global ban on hunting these bears, which caused a massive expansion of their population, which is leading to their overhunting in regions further north.

Blaming things that were already happening on global warming is just par for the course these days, but it is amazing to watch.

There is nothing at all unique about the Polar race. They are just bears.

A new trend is developing in Canada: male Grizzly Bears are migrating to breed with female Polar Bears.

It has long been known to all scientists that Polar Bears don’t exist and that Polarness is a social construct. So, you would think that scientists would be happy that brown-furred Grizzly Bear males are traveling to impregnate white-furred Polar Bear females, and spreading the genetic diversity.

Shamefully however, in 2016 there are still White Bear Supremacists in the scientific community, who wish to preserve the White Bear “master bear race,” and are arguing that this vibrant multicultural mingling could lead to an end to the “Polar race.”

And the worst part: it isn’t difficult to see how the ideology of Polar Supremacy could be applied directly to human White Supremacy.

The more scientists analyze species’ genomes, the more they realize that animals we label as “pure breeds” actually share DNA — and that includes us.Many humans carry traces of DNA from Neanderthals, which means we’re all hybrids. It also means there’s no such thing as genetic purity. The concept is a romantic construct, an anthropomorphized take on nature.

Good on the WaPo for giving us a bit of background on the nature of racial-mixing before giving these Polar Supremacists a platform.

Because the last thing we want is for some White Supremacist Neo-Nazi to come across this and make a comparison between male Grizzly Bears traveling to impregnate female Polar Bears and male Arabs traveling to impregnate female Europeans.

And what may be most surprising about this, researchers say, is the role interbreeding plays in the futures of endangered species — or, as the case may be with polar bears, accelerating their end.

Amstrup has studied bears in the Arctic since the 1970s and was instrumental in helping list the polar bear as a threatened species in 2008. He, like other experts, characterizes this “new” bear relationship as more beneficial to grizzlies than polar bears. That’s because there are more grizzlies than polar bears and because grizzly territory is expanding while polar bear territory is contracting. What that adds up to is a good chance grizzlies could essentially dilute the polar bear population until it doesn’t exist at all, they say.

Just imagine if some White supremacist found this news article.

Polar bears are getting the short end of the stick in this relationship, not “gaining any genetic diversity,” said Geoff York, who led research on polar bears at the World Wildlife Fund for almost a decade before joining Amstrup at PBI.

Andrew Derocher, a professor of biological studies at the University of Alberta, has spent three decades studying bears throughout the Arctic. He, too, has a sobering view about where the hybridization is heading.

“I hate to say it, but from a genetic perspective, it’s quite likely grizzly bears will eat polar bears up, genetically,” he told me. And he says the changes are already at play.

All hybrids that have been analyzed had grizzly fathers, because grizzly males roam to establish territory and come in contact with receptive female polar bears. Female grizzlies tend not to stray far from their home ranges, and male polar bears don’t usually creep into grizzly habitats.

Polar bears need the ice — that’s where the seals and walruses they eat live. They don’t hibernate, and they don’t travel south of the tundra. Grizzlies, historically, rarely ventured north of the treeline. Permafrost is too cold for their liking, and they sink into the snow easily. (Polar bears have padded paws that act as snowshoes). Hunting is more challenging in the north, where prey is scarce. They’re not really swimmers.

Derocher said it will not be long before we start seeing female grizzlies bump into male polar bears, further straining the polar bear’s genetic variation. “I suspect at the same time that that’s occurring, we’ll start to see polar bears on their way out.”

We need to begin to extend hate crimes laws to bear scientists, before this whole thing gets completely out of hand.
