Man, Japan needs some real problems.

Maybe they should go get into it in the Middle East? You know, it doesn’t really matter which side. Just go over there and join the fight. They could even send people to both sides. Just to get something going on their TV.

People need something intense going on. Everyone in the world wants something intense. If you’re not in some kind of war in the Middle East, then you start shutting down airports over scissors.

Traffic at one of Japan’s busiest airports was halted recently when a pair of scissors went missing.

Concern about the scissors – which had been used at a store in the departure waiting area of a domestic flight – resulted in an hours-long security search of New Chitose Airport (CTS), which serves the Sapporo area on the northern island of Hokkaido.

According to the airport, 36 flights were canceled on August 17 and another 201 were delayed amid the search.

There were concerns that a potential terrorist could have taken the scissors and used them as a weapon on board a flight. Eventually, the airport said, the tools were located and flights were able to resume.

“We are aware that the incident occurred due to the lack of proper usage, storage and management systems by the store users,” New Chitose Airport’s operators said in a statement.

“We will investigate this incident, determine its cause, and prevent its recurrence. We will also reaffirm that this incident could relate to hijacking and terrorist attack, and we will ensure that all airport personnel are fully aware of the importance of management.”

Among those affected by the security issues was Japanese rock band 9mm Parabellum Bullet, which missed its performance at the annual Rising Sun music festival in Hokkaido due to a flight cancellation.

“We will definitely get our revenge!!” the band said in a statement posted on the event’s website, while the festival itself announced it would not be offering ticket refunds.

Norwegian government officials have warned residents to steer clear of a friendly beluga whale that experts say may be a Russian “spy” swimming along the country’s coastline.

The adorable sea creature, nicknamed Hvaldimir, was first spotted in 2019 wearing a harness branded “St. Petersburg” with mounts for an underwater camera — leading experts to believe he was trained by the Russian Navy.

I did not know you could train a beluga whale and then release it into the wild as a spy.

You learn something new everyday, I guess.

The suspected slippery secret agent popped up again recently in the densely populated area of Inner Oslofjord, where he has been following boats and making a splash with folks on board, the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries warned Wednesday.

Frank Bakke-Jensen, director of the agency, urged residents  to “avoid contact” with Hvaldimir for the safety of the animal, even though he’s “tame and used to being around people.”

“We especially encourage people in boats to keep a good distance to avoid the whale being injured or, in the worst case, killed by boat traffic,” said Bakke-Jensen.

In recent weeks, the white whale has been foraging for food at farms, “where it has been able to catch fish grazing on surplus feed,” it added.

Hvaldimir — whose cheeky nickname is combo of the Norwegian word for whale and Russian president Vladimir Putin — won’t be captured by officials despite his possible ties to the country.

“We have always communicated that the whale in question is a free-living animal and we see no reason to capture it and put it behind barriers,” Bakke-Jensen said.

His movements will, however, be monitored by marine officials.

Well, that’s more respect that humans are shown in a democracy, if found to be supportive of Russians.

I would have always thought I am a free-living animal, but you learn as an adult that in a democracy, the government owns you, they can do whatever they want to you.

I would advise Hvaldimir to stay off of social media, and let his position on the Russians and their Special Operation in the Ukraine remain ambiguous if he wants to remain free.

A debate has emerged in Britain over the term ‘globalist’, with elements of the legacy media and social media arguing that using the word to describe the political ideology of preferring super state over state is actually a racist term against Jewish people.

Following what many, such as Brexit leader Nigel Fage, have described as a “globalist coup” to install former Goldman Sachs banker and World Economic Forum (WEF) acolyte Rishi Sunak as prime minister, left-wing figures have attempted to make the very term “globalist” an off-limits slur, claiming that it is antisemitic.

Last week, Nigel Farage tweeted: “Jeremy Hunt is now running the country. This is a globalist coup.” Mr Farage went on to make similar comments following the installation of Grant Shapps as Home Secretary.

The statements were condemned by Jewish groups, despite the fact that Mr Hunt is not Jewish but rather a member of the Church of England. Mr Shapps comes from a Jewish family.

Criticising the use of the term, Marie van der Zyl, the president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said: “Antisemitism experts such as the Anti Defamation League identify ‘globalist’ as a common antisemitic trope based on conspiracy theories about international Jewish power. Politicians should avoid using the term, particularly when referring specifically to Jewish individuals.”

The linguistic dispute came to a head on Sunday, when a caller to the LBC radio station echoed Mr Farage’s sentiments in describing Sunak as a “globalist” who “doesn’t seem to love England”.

For this remark, LBC host Sangita Myska, formerly of the BBC, chastised the caller, saying: “As we continue this conversation, please don’t use the phrase globalist again because many of my Jewish listeners will find that incredibly offensive because it has also been used, at times, as a racist put down to the Jewish community.”

Commenting on the exchange, Mr Farage, who was previously a host for LBC, lamented: “Words being banned by mainstream media, this is not good”.

Mr Farage also shared the Oxford English Dictionary’s definition of globalism, which states: “The belief that events in one country affect those in all other countries, and that economic and foreign policy should benefit the world as a whole instead of individual countries.”

Anglican deacon and GB News host Calvin Robinson also took aim at language policing from the media, writing on social media: “Be wary of anyone who hears ‘globalist’ and thinks ‘THE JEWS!’

“As ever, they are the very thing they accuse us of. A globalist is a politician who operates on an international perspective, rather than a local/national perspective. It’s only a slur in the mind of antisemitics.”

This is obviously bullshit.

The anti-globalisation movement and protests of the 1990s were categorically green and anti-capitalist.

Political commentator and Spiked! columnist, Ben Pile noted that the origins of the anti-globalist movement were left-wing in nature, highlighting the protests against the World Trade Organization (WTO) such as the anti-capitalist ‘Battle of Seattle’ in 1999 in which black bloc anarchists rampaged through the American city, smashing businesses along their way. It has been estimated that Seattle businesses lost some $20 million in lost sales and property damage during the protests.

Thomas Wilson III was convinced someone was breaking into his condominium and hiding recording devices in the walls.

He ripped up the carpet in his northwest Dallas home and tore out the floorboards and door frames. He stockpiled weapons and once fired a gun in his own condo, believing a person hid inside.

Wilson’s delusions worsened — sometimes fueled by methamphetamine use — until midmorning July 15, 2015, when he shot his neighbor, Nathan Tonolini, 11 times.

For two years, the Tonolini family wondered why Wilson shot his neighbor. There were no problems between the men, and neighbors described Wilson as friendly.

They learned Friday about the delusions, the conspiracy theory books Wilson read and the stockpile of firearms, spears and tomahawks in the man’s home.

I assume by ‘Conspiracy Theory Books” they mean newspapers and websites talking about Russians.

Tonolini worked nights and was coming home from work when Wilson opened fire.

Wilson knew that killing Tonolini was wrong, Andrade said. He called his mother afterward and told her what he had done. He asked a neighbor to watch his dog, Gizmo.

He was “more concerned for his dog than for the person he just shot 11 times,” Andrade said during closing arguments.

But defense attorneys Sherrod Edwards and Audrey Garnett said Wilson needs mental health treatment to stop the delusions, which continued after Wilson was jailed and no longer using drugs. They asked for a shorter punishment.
