An official at the 2024 Paris Olympics has had his accreditation revoked for appearing to make a controversial hand gesture during the women’s street skateboarding finals. The male, who was wearing Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) clothing, was seen on video footage twice appearing to make an ‘ok’ hand sign.

He was standing behind a number of athletes and coaches at La Concorde Urban Park on Sunday when he gestured with his finger and thumb.

Traditionally a way of saying OK, the hand signal has become synonymous with far-right groups as a way of embracing white male supremacy.

A spokesperson for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the man was not a member of the official OBS team, despite his clothing. And he confirmed he would not be able to attend any further events at the Games.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has previously described the gesture as a “sincere expression of white supremacy.” They’ve also said it has become a regular signal from “right-leaning individuals, who often post photos to social media of themselves posing while making the gesture.”

The behaviour was reportedly the subject of a complaint from a Brazilian journalist, who passed the information onto organisers. He alleged the male appeared to be watching himself on the big screens before making the gesture.

He first made it when Australian Chloe Covell was in action. Minutes later, he repeated the gesture when he was stationed close to Japanese athlete Liz Akama.

The Olympics are definitely the counter-point to the theory that this “woke” stuff is lightening up.

But I guess the lightening up is happening more in America specifically, and the Olympics are more of a European-Globalist organization.

It is incredible that the establishment will attack people as “conspiracy theorists” for simply asking for data to be collected regarding the potential side-effects of the coronavirus vaccine (data that is collected for every other drug in history), while at the same time the establishment endorses very wild, baseless theories.

Very regularly now, establishment people invent conspiracies. They will also claim that even if the conspiracy doesn’t exist, it should be dealt with as though it is.

Former show contestants are requesting an apology after a “Jeopardy!” winner allegedly flashed a gesture that has become associated with certain hate groups.

A group of former show participants penned an open letter published to Medium on Wednesday condemning incidents on the game show.

“A recent contestant has caused concern among ‘Jeopardy!’ viewers for two separate occurrences, and we as former contestants feel the need to speak out against the messaging that these choices communicated — either intentionally or unintentionally — by the contestant Kelly Donohue and, implicitly by association, the producers of ‘Jeopardy!’” they wrote.

The “more widely felt” of the two missteps occurred on Tuesday when Donohue “held his thumb and forefinger together with his other three fingers extended and palm facing inward, and he tapped his chest.” Donohue has since emphasized that he was merely indicating that he’d won three games, noting that he had gestured with one finger and two fingers to indicate his previous wins.

Letter writers, however, claim that the specific way he chose to indicate the number three was extremely similar to the gesture “coopted by white power groups, alt-right groups, and an anti-government group that calls itself the Three Percenters” and thus should have been censored — and not made it to broadcast.

“A couple of years ago, a contestant unintentionally wagered a monetary amount that used numerical values coopted by white supremacist groups and, since the total didn’t affect the outcome of the game, ‘Jeopardy!’ digitally altered the numbers in the version that aired,” the letter offers of how the gameshow previously handled a somewhat similar situation. “This should have been done in this case. Intentional or not, the burden was on the production team to catch the similarity to a hate symbol and make sure it didn’t end up on air.”

The second and lesser of the missteps the letter details happened on Monday when “Kelly responded to a clue with a term for the Roma that is considered a slur.”

In light of the two missteps, the former contestants are asking for “a statement and a disavowal of both of this week’s events” and to see “Jeopardy!” address Donohue’s behavior.

Imagine saying this: “even if he wasn’t making a secret hand signal, he should be punished as if he was making a secret hand signal.”

Now compare it to: “even if the coronavirus vaccines are 100% safe, data on the side effects should be collected in the same way data is collected for every other drug.”

The first thing is considered totally reasonable. The second thing is considered so outrageous that anyone who says it must be silenced and publicly hate-mobbed as a “conspiracy theorist.”

Just so: the Russia-Trump collusion theory was a more baseless and more outrageous conspiracy theory than anything that has ever been put forward by anyone associated with QAnon.

An aide to Brazil’s far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro has been accused of flashing a white supremacist hand symbol during a legislative hearing—and could face an investigation.

Filipe Martins, President Bolsonaro’s special adviser for international affairs, is accused of making the “OK” hand symbol—which has become associated with far-right and white supremacist groups—during a Senate session on the country’s COVID-19 vaccine purchasing program.

Images and video of Martins making the gesture quickly spread on Brazilian social media. Martins can be seen making the sign and moving his hand up and down his suit lapel for around three seconds.

Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco said he would consider whether to pass the matter to Brazil’s legislative police for an investigation, CNN Brasil reported.

Martins dismissed the concerns on Twitter, describing those who had complained as “clowns” and threatening consequences for anyone accusing him of racism.

“A warning to clowns who wish to support the thesis that I, a Jew, am sympathetic to ‘white supremacism’,” he wrote.

“In their sick minds they saw an authoritarian gesture in an image that shows me adjusting the lapel of my suit: they will be prosecuted and held responsible; one by one.”

But if he’s not a white supremacy Jew, then why did he take a selfie with white supremacy leader and drunken Irish slob Steve Bannon?

Explain that!

Martins also retweeted a post from politician Alexandre Aleluia, who said the reports were evidence of “the moral degradation of our press.” Bolsonaro, his allies and supporters regularly attack journalists and the free press in Brazil, accusing them of spreading “fake news” and leading unfair criticism of Bolsonaro’s populist administration.

Among those concerned by Martins’ gesture was the Holocaust Museum in the Brazilian city of Curitiba. The museum said it was “astonished” by the video and warned that the use of the hand symbol was “very serious.” The museum added that neo-Nazi sentiment and activity was increasing in Brazil.

Why is there a “Holocaust” museum in Brazil?
