As the media continues to screech about Ahmaud Arbery, it’s important to remember that blacks have been targeting white joggers for decades.

And these attacks actually are unprovoked.

Police have launched an appeal for information after a jogger was sexually assaulted in Nottingham.

The attack happened at around 8am on Thursday, May 7, when the woman was jogging along the pavement on Robin Hood Chase in St Ann’s, near to Westville Gardens and Lavender Walk.

It was reported she was approached from behind by a man and sexually assaulted.

Police Constable Sean Parker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We know that incidents of this nature will be a cause of real concern for many people living nearby.

“This was an unprovoked attack on somebody going about their daily routine.

“We are taking this report very seriously. The incident left the woman shocked and distressed and we are doing all we can to try and find the offender.

“We would like to offer the public and residents reassurance following the incident that we are doing everything we can to try and catch the offender and encourage anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information to speak to the police or call 101 as soon as possible.”

The force has released a description of a man they want to speak to.

The man has been described as “black, around 5’9 tall and believed to be in his late 30s to early 40s, with short dark afro hair thinning on top and a dark wispy beard which was patchy in places.

Five men have appeared in court to face 36 charges of child grooming.

Hamza Shazad, 25, Ansar Ahmed, 29, Mohammed Saeed Ahmed, 20, Waqar Akhtar, 26 and Waqas Akhtar, 24, were granted conditional bail at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard the charges related to three girls, two aged under 16 and one aged under 18.

The men were told the next hearing will take place at Nottingham Crown Court on 5 December.

Mr Shazad, of Ewart Road, Forest Fields, Nottingham, faces 11 charges, including two counts of inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying a sex act with an animal

Ansar Ahmed, of Radford Road, Nottingham, faces six charges including one count of meeting a girl under 16 following grooming and causing a girl to engage in sexual activity

Mohammed Saeed Ahmed, of Vale Crescent South, Nottingham, faces 11 charges including one count of raping a girl

Waqar Akhtar, of Glentworth Road, Nottingham, faces two charges: one of taking away a child in care and one of removing a child under 16 from a person who had lawful responsibility for them

Waqas Akhtar, of no fixed abode, faces six charges including two of engaging in sexual activity with a girl

Muslim restaurant owners are facing criminal charges after a high number of people became violently ill after consuming food that was prepared at their restaurant. Mohammad Abdul Basit and Amjab Bhatti have pleaded guilty to breaching food safety regulations at the The Khyber Pass kebab shop in Nottingham. Over 140 people were infected with a rare strain of E. coli, including a child who nearly died in a hospital.

Nottingham City Council discovered that the customers had contracted this sometimes deadly strain of E. coli after inspecting the restaurant and finding inadequate hand washing facilities, and poor personal hygiene of food workers. Since this strain of the virus is only found in the human digestive tract, the inspectors concluded that the customers must have contracted the virus through fecal matter being transferred from unwashed hands onto the food they were consuming.

“You realise the way it was transmitted was by use of incorrect hand washing after using the lavatory to defecate,” said prosecutor Bernard Thorogood. “A cough can’t do it, a handshake could if it’s an infected hand which means it was not washed after using the lavatory.”

Two kebab shop owners who infected nearly 150 customers after their meals were contaminated with human faeces have now been ordered to pay out over £28,000 in compensation.

Mohammad Abdul Basit and Amjad Bhatti, of the Khyber Pass takeaway in Nottingham, were responsible for an outbreak of E.coli that saw 142 customers fall seriously ill.

One 13-year-old girl nearly died when she was left in intensive care while others were left bedridden for days.

The outbreak was caused by the victims eating food contaminated with human faeces, food hygiene inspectors have said.

They were handed four-month jail sentences, suspended for 12 months, and were ordered to pay costs of £25,000 at Nottingham Crown Court. Each victim will also receive £200 compensation.

A young mother has told how she feared for her life during a brutal attack by her ex boyfriend in which he gouged her eyes, repeatedly punched her in the face and almost bit her ear off.

Emma Hunt, 22, had just dropped her three-year-old daughter off at a nursery in Nottingham when Martell Campbell, 24, launched a savage on her in front of horrified parents and children.

The 24-year-old leapt out of bushes and grabbed Miss Hunt in a bear hug in the middle of the road.

He then punched her repeatedly in the face and dragged her on all fours before throwing her down between two parked cars.

He then gouged at her eyes and strangled her before trying to bite through her ear.

Nottingham Crown Court sentenced Campbell to six and a half years in jail for the November 6 assault, after he admitted wounding.

Ms Hunt, who was treated at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, said: ‘My ear was hanging off, I had a broken nose, my knees were grazed and my face was bruised.

‘I was in hospital all day and they had to sew the top part of my ear back on.

‘I’m glad he’s locked up and can leave me alone. I think he should have been jailed for longer though but didn’t expect he would be.

‘I was worried I was going to die, I can’t really remember much of the attack but my only thoughts were that I wasn’t going to see my daughter again.’

Ms Hunt revealed that Campbell had threatened to kill her the night before, but thought he was merely letting off steam.

She said: ‘He said he was going to come to the school and kill me. I was really shaken up but I didn’t actually think he would attack me. I thought he was sounding off.

‘I was walking back from the school and someone said to me that a big black guy was hiding in the bushes.

‘Then I saw him and that is when he pounced on me. He’s a lot bigger and stronger than me, I was just trying to defend myself.’

She first started dating Campbell six years ago but said he started getting ‘weird’ after the pair had a daughter together.

They broke up after four years but Miss Hunt allowed Campbell to continue seeing his child who is now three years old.

But she said Campbell suddenly changed in July last year and started stalking her and rummaging through her bins.

She got a non-molestation order against him in October after Campbell hurled a brick through her window.

The full-time mother said: ‘It was okay at first when we broke up two years ago, he still had our daughter at weekends.

A detective sergeant raped a mother in her own home after forcing her front door open when she turned him down following a date, a court heard today.

Trevor Gray, 49, is accused of breaking the security chain before attacking the 43-year-old woman in her bed while her children slept in a nearby room.

A court heard the pair had been out for drinks in Nottingham city centre on a Saturday night in July, 2011 before going back to her house in a taxi in the early hours of the next day.

Gray, who was an off-duty officer with Nottinghamshire Police at the time, left the home when the woman asked him to go and said he was going to try and get a taxi up the road.

The court heard that Gray returned to the house when he couldn’t hail a taxi and forced his way in because he was worried something had happened to her as she wasn’t answering his calls.

But Birmingham Crown Court also heard he sent her a text message saying ‘you are harsh’ before forcing his way back in just minutes later.

A jury of nine men and three women were told the next memory the victim has was of Gray, who was off duty at the time, being naked on top of her in her bed raping her.

The woman told officers she remembered waking up the next day and challenging Gray about the broken door chain and how he had got into her house.

Gray left after the woman called him a taxi and the next day she spoke to her friend, who was also a serving police officer, who reported the matter to her superiors.

When the father-of-two was arrested he admitted he had sex with the victim but claimed he did it after she asked him to, the court heard.

Giving evidence today, Detective Sergeant Justine Wilson told the court that the woman told her she believed Gray had raped her.

She said: ‘They had arranged to go out on Saturday July 23. They met in Nottingham city centre and had gone to several bars together.
