The woman suing Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News for defamation in the wake of the $787m settlement with the voting machine company Dominion has accused the media giant of waging a campaign of “vitriolic lies” against her that amounts to a threat to democracy.

Nina Jankowicz sued Fox News and its parent company Fox Corporation for allegedly damaging her reputation as a specialist in conspiracy theories and disinformation campaigns. The lawsuit was lodged in a Delaware state court exactly a year after she resigned as executive director of a new Department of Homeland Security unit combatting online disinformation.

The Disinformation Governance Board was abruptly shut down in the wake of a storm of virulent rightwing criticism, allegedly fueled by Fox News. Jankowicz and the new DHS division she led were attacked as being part of a conspiracy to censor rightwing comment spearheaded by Joe Biden.

Jankowicz resigned from the federal post on 18 May 2022, barely three weeks into the job.

In an interview with the Guardian, she said her motive in suing Fox was to ensure accountability for what she alleged was a campaign of lies against her that undermined American democracy. “There needs to be consequences,” she said.

There must be consequences for the media undermining our society.

So true.

And I say that as someone who loves Jews AND Israel.

“It was lies, very personal and very vitriolic lies. And I don’t think that is democratic.”

She added that what she claimed was Fox’s reckless disregard for the truth had implications for the future of the country. “If we can’t agree on statements of fact, how can you live in a democracy?”

Jankowicz faces a daunting mountain to climb in taking on the Murdoch empire. As a public figure holding an important federal role at the time of the alleged defamation, she must clear a very high legal standard.

She must show that the broadcaster acted with “actual malice” in disseminating false statements about her that it knew were untrue, or that it showed “reckless disregard” in airing those statements without checking their veracity.

The complaint claims that the channel mentioned more than 150 times that Jankowicz intended to monitor and censor free speech. In fact, the disinformation board had no powers to censor or surveil anyone, it was merely designed to co-ordinate the efforts of other government entities.

“They depicted me as a fascist who didn’t stand up for free speech, when precisely standing up for free speech had been the purpose of my entire career,” she said.

Jankowicz is bringing the action with the help of a gofundme page which has so far raised almost $60,000 towards her legal fees. She said she was heartened by that support, but stressed that money was not her motive.

Well, $60,000 isn’t Danial Penny numbers.

I don’t think anyone believed that the “Disinformation Governance Board” was going to be about “combatting Russia.”

It seems that they dissolved it because they knew the details of it were going to get leaked too early. Obviously, people were eventually going to figure it out, but they wanted it to be entrenched before anyone figured it out (like NSA bulk data collection).

The US government planned to use its now-shelved Disinformation Governance Board (DGB) to make social media platforms remove posts the government deemed false, according to leaked documents obtained by opposition lawmakers.

Republican Senators Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and Josh Hawley (Missouri) cited the whistleblower files in an open letter to Department of Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas published on Wednesday, in which they pressed for more details on the controversial DGB.

The department “planned to coordinate efforts to leverage ties with social media platforms to enable the removal of user content,” the senators said in a press release, adding that it sought to use Big Tech sites to “enforce its agenda.”

First floated in April, the board was quickly paused after a strong public backlash in which critics likened it to a state-run ‘Ministry of Truth’. The lawmakers said the leaked documents raised “serious concerns” about the initiative.

“The DGB was established to serve as much more than a simple ‘working group’ to ‘develop guidelines, standards, [and] guardrails’ for protecting civil rights and civil liberties,” they wrote. “In fact, DHS documents show that the DGB was designed to be the Department’s central hub, clearinghouse and gatekeeper for Administration policy and response to whatever it happened to decide was ‘disinformation.’”

It’s a tired boomer line at this point, but it’s still true: disinformation is whatever they disagree with.

These people were talking about setting up a secret network to censor everything from vaccination views to opinions on just exactly how hard the Ukraine is winning the war against Russia.

Grassley and Hawley argued that the Biden administration has offered no clear definition of “disinformation,” and that the DHS board had shown serious bias even in its earliest stages, despite assurances it would remain apolitical.

In particular, they pointed to author and ‘Disinformation Fellow’ Nina Jankowicz, chosen to head the DGB, claiming she is “a known trafficker of foreign disinformation and liberal conspiracy theories.”

Jankowicz may have been hired chiefly due to “her relationship with executives at Twitter,” the senators claimed, adding that the leaked documents show the White House planned to “operationalize” connections with social media companies to “implement its public policy goals.”

Draft briefing notes prepared in late April indicate that a senior DHS official, Robert Silvers, planned to meet with Twitter executives to discuss the disinformation board, though it remains unclear whether the scheduled meeting ever took place.

The whole thing seems almost unnecessary, since the social media companies are already staffed by women, Jews and pederasts who already agree with everything the US government says. This is just kind of a final stage to streamline the process.

Remember that when Jen Psaki admitted that the government was working with tech companies to censor people, she said that one thing she wanted to do was make sure that if someone was banned on one platform they were banned on all platforms. The government also has the resources to research the “coded language” that right-wingers have developed to avoid triggering bans. So there would be some benefits to having a government agency that directly manages internet censorship.

People are saying this is illegal, but it actually probably isn’t, according to the precedent that has been established thus far. They are telling us “private companies can censor whoever they want,” so there is no reason “private companies can’t secretly collaborate with the government to censor whoever they want.” If the government was forcing cooperation, that would be illegal, but if the companies were willingly cooperating, I don’t think it would be.

But the whole “law and order” thing is done anyway, so it doesn’t even matter.

This Board isn’t gone. Aside from worries about leaks, I think Nina Jankowicz was a little bit too absurd with the TikTok singing videos and so on. They will just bring this back under a different name while they continue to do the same thing through other means.

Nina Jankowicz was forced to resign as the head of the Ministry of Truth, and now she is running around whining, talking about how she is the real victim.

The cancelation of the Disinformation Governance Board was first reported in The Washington Post by… wait for it… Taylor Lorenz!

It’s sort of funny that this cunt Lorenz, who is a main bitch distributing disinformation against people who disagree with Joe Biden, is now commiserating with a bitch who was hired by Biden to spread disinformation under the guise of fighting disinformation.

It’s like that Spider-Man meme.

That article claims that disinformation caused the disinformation board to have to shut down. It says that Nina was the victim of disinformation, and the disinformation board couldn’t combat it. Which is – I mean – it’s a bit like if the fire station catches on fire and the firemen are all like “what the hell are we supposed to do about this???”

But in actual reality, the board was shut down because everyone was shocked and appalled that such a thing exists. Basically, the right-wing was just like “look at what these people are doing!” And they were like “oh well, we’re not doing what we are doing, actually” and it’s like “then why are you doing it?” and they’re like “well, you see, about that…”

Imagine the Department of Homeland Security claiming to be a victim of the population. It’s beyond the pale, but it’s so goofy you can’t help but just laugh.

The now-former head of the Biden administration’s abortive disinformation board said in an interview Wednesday that she received death threats almost every day during her three weeks on the job.

Nina Jankowicz made the claim to MSNBC “All In” host Chris Hayes hours after she announced her resignation following the Department of Homeland Security’s decision to “pause” the Disinformation Governance Board.

“I have maybe had one or two days I didn’t report a violent threat,” she said. “Something like, ‘We’re coming for you and your family,’ ‘You and your family should be sent to Russia to be killed,’ [they] encouraged me to commit suicide.”

The board was criticized almost from the moment of its creation last month by conservatives, libertarians and even some liberals, who compared it to the Ministry of Truth from George Orwell’s novel “1984.”

After news broke Wednesday that the Disinformation Governance Board had been paused and that Jankowicz had resigned from DHS, the White House sought to distance itself from the mess, with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre telling reporters that “the board has never convened” and insisting that “neither Nina Jankowicz nor the board have anything to do with the censorship or with removing content from anywhere.”

Once again: more death threats where no one is arrested.

Frankly, if you make a death threat against any leftist, the FBI will subpoena your IP address from Twitter/Google/whoever and prosecute you for it. If you threaten to kill a DHS official, it becomes about a million times more serious.

But no one ever gets arrested for these death threats, because they’re not real.

Do you think the FBI wouldn’t love to drag in some MAGA boomer who sent Nina a death threat, if such a person existed?

But hey – this is kind of a big deal.

It’s a symbolic victory, but it really is a victory.

These people had to back down from something, which thus far I don’t think they’ve done since The Biden Entity assumed control. They sort of backed down on the border, when Mayorkas had to go out there and tell people to stop coming, but that wasn’t really in response to the right but in response to an unmitigated disaster they’d created for themselves by hiring people like Nina Jankowicz to run immigration policy.

It’s something worth celebrating.

As far as the “death threats” – women believe people calling them names and making fun of their appearance are “death threats,” just like Jews believe that being forced to work is a “genocide.”

Jeff Bezos is calling on Comrade Nina to investigate Joe Biden

Jeff Bezos is apparently getting more directly involved in politics. Bezos is the owner of the extremist political group “The Washington Post,” so he’s definitely not outside of politics, he has just previously rarely made his own comments from his personal Twitter account. I was shocked when he came out and accused Elon Musk of being a communist Chinese agent in a tweet. But apparently this is something he’s doing now.

He has come out and mocked Joe Biden’s Disinformation Board, claiming that it should investigate Biden’s nonsensical claims about inflation.

Bezos is correct that corporate taxation is in no way related to inflation. They are two separate issues completely, the only connection being “economy stuff.”

If we were to try to seriously analyze this Joe Biden statement, the basic claim is apparently that if corporations paid more taxes, the government would not have to print so much money. This is just so dumb that it’s difficult to even process.

The first obvious moronism is just the differential in the numbers here. Amazon as the example is among the biggest companies in the world, and in 2021 it had a net gross of $33 billion, up from $21 billion in 2020. So if you put a 100% tax on Amazon’s income and bankrupt the company, you would barely be able to cover a month of the war on Russia. Further, “fighting the coronavirus pandemic” cost 5 trillion dollars – that is, 5000 billion dollars. You don’t really need a calculator here to see that raising the corporate tax rate from 21% to 40% (or whatever number they want, some of them say 70%) would not make any impact on the government’s spending ledger.

Secondly, these public multinational corporations have become the backbone of the economy and putting a crippling tax burden on them would smother the economy. Amazon’s actual value is in its stock price. The company has a market cap of over a trillion dollars, and high stock prices combat inflation. Amazon having that kind of stock price also allows the company to engage in market activity that grows the GDP.

I am against the entire structure of the economy, and the way it is built around these mega-corporations. I think the economy should be built around the middle class. But that isn’t the situation we are in, and you’re not going to change this situation without first bolstering the middle class. Regardless of any of this, there just isn’t any relationship between corporate taxation and inflation. This is just simply a made up thing – it is literal disinformation fed to stupid people who don’t know anything about anything and just believe whatever the government tells them.

We have decades of policy designed to loot the middle class and bolster multinational corporations. The government has actively sought to destroy both small businesses and the wages of workers. The Democrats were as heavily involved in this looting as the Republicans. Remember that both George HW Bush and Bill Clinton agreed on NAFTA, and it was only Ross Perot talking about a “giant sucking sound.”

Trade is one issue, corporate tax v. small business tax is another issue, the monetization of the stock market is another issue, government export of debt and low interest rates bolstered by QE is yet another issue. Obviously, all these issues are linked in that they are “the economy,” but the government has universally made the worst and most destructive decisions on every single issue you can list, while Americans have paid no attention because they didn’t understand any of it, they were busy with their divorces and entertainment media, and the fallout from these government acts has a decades-long lag.

Blaming Amazon for the current situation is just unhinged. Amazon has not done anything other than take advantage of the climate the government has created.

The pivot from “Russia destroyed the economy” to “actually, it’s greedy corporations” is almost funnier than the pivot from “there is no inflation” to “inflation is good” to “this is an unmitigated disaster and it’s not our fault.”

As far as Bezos – it’s interesting to imagine that he could actually pivot from support of the Democrat Party to support of the burgeoning Silicon Valley revolt. Bezos is clearly just a totally scummy person, but I mean – he’s not Jewish. That means that he’s only committed to doing what is in his own financial interests. He’s not committed to any ideology, other than presumably transhumanism (which Musk is ostensibly also offering a clear path towards, while the Democrats seem to have lost the plot).

Who knows? No one knows. But Bezos lashing out against Biden is kind of a big deal.

In a recent livestream, the new Disinformation Board head Nina Jankowicz put forward the idea that blue checks on Twitter like her should be given the ability to edit other people’s tweets to fight disinformation.

This woman is declaring outright that she is effectively God, and the only person capable of determining the ultimate nature of truth itself.

How are we here – at the point where this group of annoying and stupid women have seized control of reality, declaring their ability to serve as arbiters of reality?

Who looks at these people and says “I think they should be able to dictate reality itself to the global population”?

The censorious lo Latine lo Cubane DHS chief Alexander Mayorkas was questioned at a Senate hearing on Wednesday by Republican Senator John Kennedy as to whether he was aware of the TikTok videos posted by the new “Disinformation Governance Board” chief Nina Jankowicz.

Kennedy described the videos as “really quite precocious,” a deadpan reference to the Mary Poppins parody song Jankowicz uploaded herself singing.

I have no idea how many people would have gotten that joke – probably not very many. I have a newfound respect for Kennedy. Not that I was necessarily totally against him before (at least in comparison to the rest of these rats).

Lo Latine lo Cubane Mayorkas responded that he was not aware of these TikTok videos. That may or may not be true of him personally, but his organization must have known about them. Virtually all businesses do social media background checks now, and the feds do an FBI background check that includes a massive cache of public and private personal information.

But even if Mayorkas was not aware of these videos, if he was aware of Jankowicz at all, he would definitely be aware that her entire career has been devoted to pushing censorship, both via private companies and via government thought controls. The TikTok videos are the worst example of this heinous agenda, making the whole thing appear to be a parody of itself.

But she has written an entire book claiming that the internet is a “toxic environment for women” and demanding the whole thing be censored in order to protect the feelings of women. She says that “women” – whatever the hell that is, amirite? – can’t simply ignore mean things that people say to them because women are emotionally unstable, and therefore they need censors to protect them from people saying mean things.

Moreover, she’s gone far beyond “protection from mean things” – the whole “safety from harassment” thing – and gone into saying that people who use coded language to bypass censors must be hunted down and prevented from making jokes about protected groups in code between themselves. She calls this “malign creativity.”

Using coded language so you can talk with a private group of the initiated without being censored is literally the diametric opposite of harassment, and proves that she is not simply concerned about “online safety” for the feelings of emotionally unstable people, but with silencing the ability of anyone who disagrees with the government to be able to communicate at all.

What is the Point of This?

No one is explaining what the point of this “board” is. That is the real question here. What the hell are we even talking about?

The DHS already had the ability to spy on people and investigate them based on the theory they could be plotting violence. Every law enforcement agency has that ability. So what is this new group to fight “disinformation” if not a censorship organization?

No matter how many times lo Latine lo Cubane Mayorkas says it isn’t about government censorship, he will not explain what it is about. He is just lying to prevent this from being shut down.

Of course, no one is going to shut it down anyway. Kennedy and others will complain about it for public points, but they won’t shut it down. The right never shuts anything down.
