A Nebraska substitute teacher was caught naked in a car with a teen student — who tried to flee but crashed and ran from the scene in his underwear, cops said.

Erin Ward, 45, was scooped up Saturday night after she was found in the buff with a 17-year-old male student from the Omaha high school where she taught, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s department.

Police caught up with the married sub after receiving a call about a suspicious car parked down a dead end around at about 3 a.m. that night.

Deputies found two people in the backseat, WOWT reported, before the panicked teen scrambled to the front seat and took off driving.

About two blocks later he wrecked the car before running into the night.

An alleged drunk driver unwittingly handed himself over to Nebraska police when he reported someone else traveling in the wrong direction.

As it turns out, he was the culprit.

Hilarious video shared by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Thursday captured the bizarre incident that unfolded in March.

The man told dispatchers that someone driving a truck “on the wrong side of” Highway 77 in Lancaster County nearly “ran him off the road.”

Though rattled by the close call, the drunk driver gave officers clear coordinates of where the collision nearly happened — and the perfect opportunity to hunt him down.

When a deputy pulled the man over just moments later, the driver immediately realized what he had done.

The driver was caught with a blood alcohol content over twice the legal limit, prompting police to arrest him and put him in the back of the patrol car.

My entire personal belief system is summed up in this single act of defiance.

I have no respect for society, at all.

A North Platte television news director was fired by her station for helping collect signatures for a ballot initiative to ban abortions in the neighboring town of Curtis.

A television news director from western Nebraska will clean out her desk Monday night after the station fired her over the weekend for helping collect signatures for a ballot initiative to ban abortions in the neighboring town of Curtis.

The vice president and general manager of KNOP, a NBC affiliate, in North Platte confirmed Melanie Standiford was fired for violating company policies on Friday – the same day the Flatwater Free Press quoted Standiford about a petition drive in Curtis.

Standiford, 50, and a mother of nine, said she didn’t report on the specific ballot initiative. However, a review of KNOP’s website shows Standiford reported on the issue multiple times.

“The lady that does the anti-abortion prayer chain in North Platte, Nebraska, said to me: ‘I thought you were pro-choice,’” Standiford said. “Everybody in North Platte thought I was pro-choice because I was so balanced and so careful to make sure that I never showed anything but that. I was very fair.”

Curtis, a town of around 800 people in Southwest Nebraska’s Frontier County, will vote to ban abortion this November. Standiford collected signatures for the ballot initiative at her church.

She told the Flatwater Free Press that everyone in Curtis knew Standiford was a Christian and anti-abortion. In her mind, the Curtis ordinance would be so widely supported that it wouldn’t be controversial.

The Flatwater Free Press also asked Standiford about her involvement with the petition and how that impacts her coverage as a news director.

“You’re probably right, I probably, maybe shouldn’t have even done that,” she said. “But who knew it would be an issue?”

Curtis, also home to the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, is one of six towns where voters will determine the fates of local abortion bans, although some legal experts question the effort’s impact on abortion access.

The North Platte Bulletin reported and social media posts indicate there were some North Platte-area residents who objected to Standiford’s firing and gathered outside the station’s building on Monday.

Shannon Booth, the KNOP vice president and general manager, said in a statement that Standiford has been fired and she wishes the best for her.

“KNOP can confirm that our long-standing company policy encourages civic involvement among our employees, so long as such activities do not give the appearance of interfering with journalistic impartiality,” Booth said in a statement. “In furtherance of that qualification, KNOP’s news personnel are not permitted, at any time and regardless of beliefs, to actively engage in any political activity for any candidate, party, or ballot initiative.”

“I planned on anchoring the news and producing the news on Saturday and Sunday because I let one of my employees have the weekend off,” she said.

In her eyes, she was able to separate her personal beliefs and professional life. She also said she didn’t force anyone else to sign the petition – she just merely presented the option.

You need to understand: the US government does force businesses to have very specific hiring practices. We do not have any free association. If you run a business, you are forced to hire black people, colored folks, BIPOCs, and even straight-up coons. They force you to hire women and faggots. Now they are forcing you to hire trannies. The government will sue you for not hiring the people they tell you to hire, and then it’s really impossible to fire them.

We do not live in a libertarian society, at all. The government is deeply involved in the employment practices of businesses. And yet, the government refuses to protect people from getting fired for their political views.

Meanwhile, you have all of these very powerful Jewish organizations, from the ADL and SPLC to the Human Rights Project and The Center for Reproductive Rights, which lobby businesses to fire people who say the wrong thing in their private lives, while always threatening that their co-ethnics in the Jew media will wage a defamation campaign against any business that refuses to fire the people they tell them to fire.

There is zero benefit to a business in refusing to fire people. When it comes to publicly traded companies, it’s more or less illegal to refuse to fire someone that the pressure groups demand you fire, as you are violating a fiduciary duty by bringing down the media smear machine onto the company. For a small business, you’re just committing suicide.

Given all of these very clear and specific factors involved, one can only conclude that the government is involved in a conspiracy to destroy the livelihoods of anyone who disagrees with the Democrat Party.

The Council Bluffs Police Department has released more information on an officer-involved shooting that occurred May 2nd at a convenience store at 3434 Nebraska Avenue.

Jimmy Carr, 34, of Omaha, Nebraska, was booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail this morning. He had been at the Douglas County Jail in Omaha since May 4th after being discharged from the Nebraska Medical Center. Carr is being charged with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Robbery 1st Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Carr is accused of firing a handgun at Council Bluffs Police Officer Michael Roberts, who approached him as he was attempting to commit a theft from the convenience store. Roberts, who was not injured during the incident, returned fire, hitting Carr. Roberts is a 22-year veteran with the Council Bluffs Police Department; he has been on administrative leave since the incident.

I’m sure this pure-hearted shield maiden had a perfectly good reason to help a racial alien murder one of her own men.

Lincoln Police have made two arrests in connection to a homicide that occurred early March 8 at an apartment in the 2000 block of Orchard Street.

Krysean Reynolds, 19, and Makayla Fell, 20, were arrested and jailed on suspicion of aiding and abetting first degree murder.

Capt. Todd Kocian said more information would be available Monday.

Police arrived at the apartment at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday to find a friend performing CPR on Edward Varejcka. Officers took over until rescue workers arrived, but were unable to save Varejcka, who was pronounced dead at 4:09 a.m.

Investigators spent much of Sunday processing the crime scene and talking with witnesses. They also recovered a knife in the apartment.

The family of a man who was murdered 19 years ago is now getting justice.

Metro Area Fugitive Task Force arrested 51-year-old Christopher Martin Tuesday for first-degree murder.

On December 5, 2000, Omaha Police responded to 2907 Q Street after receiving a call of a person found lying on the ground in south Omaha.

When they arrived officers found 35-year-old Todd Schumacher with multiple gunshot wounds. Schumacher was pronounced dead at the scene.

Not able to make an arrest at the time, officers from the Omaha Police Homicide Unit said they classified the murder as a cold case.

Fast-forward to 2019, the victim’s daughter Alyssa Schumacher, reached out to the Cold Case Squad and the case was reopened by Detective Dave Schneider.

“After all these years, my dad will finally be able to rest in peace and our family will be able to rest a little better at night knowing that the person who did this is finally getting what he deserves,” Schumacher said.

According to the police, the Homicide Unit had enough evidence from investigating to get a felony arrest warrant for Martin.

Omaha Police say they have arrested three men in connection with a homicide.

On Monday, police found the body of 21-year-old Dustin Moheng in the yard of a Millard neighborhood.

The body was found in the area of Ash and Weir Streets.

Police say that Caleb Lott, 18; Daniel Camerlinck, 19; and Davion Wallace, 19 were arrested in connection with this homicide.

According to police, Lott was booked for Accessory to a Felony. Wallace and Camerlinck were booked for criminal homicide.

Two people were arrested in Fort Collins on Saturday on suspicion of kidnapping one woman and kidnapping and killing another in southwest Nebraska.

Kevin German, 24, and Keonna Carter, 22, were arrested in Fort Collins in connection with their alleged role in the disappearance of a 20-year-old woman and the death of a 22-year-old woman, both in Chase County, Nebraska, according to a Chase County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The remains of the missing 22-year-old woman were found Sunday. She has been identified as Annika Swanson of Imperial, Nebraska, according to the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office. Her manner and cause of death have not been released.

The 20-year-old woman was found safe, according to a report by the Associated Press. It’s unclear when she was found, and the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday afternoon.

Swanson was reported missing Thursday, about a week after her father said he last saw her, according to a Chase County news release. After speaking with several people Thursday, investigators also determined a 20-year-old woman had been assaulted and kidnapped.

Officials began searching for Swanson the evening of Nov. 21, and conducted a more organized search with search warrants, a cadaver dog and tracking dog Nov. 22 in a rural part of the county south of Imperial. The search was unsuccessful.

Investigators identified two suspects and discovered they were likely in Fort Collins. With help from Fort Collins Police Services, German and Carter were both arrested in Fort Collins on Saturday.

No doubt the other woman kidnapped was white too.

Douglas County prosecutors allege the 17-year-old accused of murdering an Omaha tobacco store clerk also took part in a shooting two hours later that seriously injured a man in Northwest Omaha.

“It’s all about the guns,” Brenda Beadle, Chief Deputy County Attorney said.

Jacobi Terry, 17, was arrested and charged with first degree murder Tuesday for the October 2nd shooting death of Bahy Altairi, 21, who worked at his family’s tobacco and vape store near 32nd and “L” Streets.

On Friday, prosecutors charged Terry with assault in the first degree for the second shooting of Jared Sedlacek, criminal conspiracy and use of a deadly weapon.

The shooting at 32nd & “L” took place around 7:22 p.m Oct. 2nd. At 9:32 p.m., police were called to another shooting near 75th & Hartman Avenue. In both cases, the shooter used a rifle.

Investigators believe it was Terry who fired three shots with the same weapon that killed Altairi into a home, striking Sedlacek, 27 who was inside. Sedlacek suffered serious injuries, leaving him severely injured with some paralysis.

“He was inside the house and had nothing to do with these individuals and he wasn’t the intended target. He got shot through the house,” Beadle said.

A pregnant 20-year-old woman allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old boy more than 100 times.

Brittany Stricker, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault of a minor, reported the Lincoln Journal Star.

In interviews with police, she admitted to having sex with the boy despite knowing his age and said they were intoxicated several times.

If convicted, Stricker could be facing up to 50 years in prison.

Yeah, one of the downsides of going undercover is having to blend in with the criminals, which sometimes means doing drugs.

According to a probable cause affidavit, shared by The Smoking Gun, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services received two reports in March about a sexual relationship between Stricker and the boy.

When the pair were questioned by officers from the Lincoln Police Department, both denied it.

Authorities say the boy then contacted them directly on July 14 and admitted to having sex with Stricker more than 100 times between January 1 and June 20, reported the Journal Star.

He reported that they had sex in Stricker’s home in Lincoln and three other homes in the city.

The teen, now 15, said that she knew how old he was. The age of consent in Nebraska is 16.

The boy said that friends of his witnessed the pair engaging in sexual intercourse.

A 17-year-old witness told police they saw Striker and the teen ‘engaged in sexual intercourse’ in the basement of a home, the affidavit states, according to The Smoking Gun.

In a phone call recorded by police, the victim contacted Stricker on July 22 where they discussed the sexual nature of their relationship.

The Smoking Gun reported that, in the affidavit, Stricker said she knew the boy’s age but that ‘at times the victim acted older than 14… which helped her justify her actions to herself.’
