More than 900 Native American children died in federally-operated boarding schools over a period of nearly a century, the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs said in a report issued Tuesday.

The report is the culmination of an investigation ordered in 2021 by Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the first Native American to hold that role in government.

After conducting years of interviews with survivors and their families and examining the records of more than 400 schools, the department concluded that at least 973 children died attending the schools. The report cautions this should not be taken as a definitive count, as there are likely other deaths that were not accounted for.

Interior staff also identified 74 marked and unmarked grave sites across 65 schools.

Between 1871 and 1969, the federal government appropriated the equivalent of $23.3 billion for the boarding school programs. Students at the schools were forced to cut their hair and punished for speaking tribal languages, part of a broader effort by the government to forcibly assimilate them.

Lieut. Richard Henry Pratt, founder of the Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Carlisle, Pa., coined the m­­otto “kill the Indian, save the man” to summarize the schools’ mission.

“The federal government – facilitated by the Department I lead – took deliberate and strategic actions through federal Indian boarding school policies to isolate children from their families, deny them their identities, and steal from them the languages, cultures and connections that are foundational to Native people. These policies caused enduring trauma for Indigenous communities that the Biden-Harris administration is working tirelessly to repair,” Haaland said in a statement.

No one even cares about the Indians. We solved this problem years ago. We gave them land and we give them free firewater and let them run casinos and sell discount cigarettes and there isn’t even a problem here.

This is literally creating a problem out of thin air, because the Indians themselves are not complaining. Obviously they can find one or two they can pay to complain.

The American Museum of Natural History in New York City will close two of its exhibition halls that showcase “severely outdated” representations of Native Americans, the museum’s president, Sean Decatur, wrote today in an internal email to staff.

The announcement of the exhibit closures on Saturday, Jan. 27 was in direct response to updates in a federal repatriation law that became effective earlier this month. The law, the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), now requires museums and institutions holding Native American human remains and sacred objects to consult with— and receive consent from— affected tribal nations, in order to exhibit their artifacts.

After the new NAGPRA updates went live last week, museums and institutions across the country scrambled to understand and implement new changes. Chicago’s Field Museum covered several display cases containing Native cultural items. The Cleveland Museum of Art installed opaque covers on three display cases containing Native American artifacts.

At the American Museum of Natural History, the new law impacts two halls: the Eastern Woodland and Great Plains halls. Each displays artifacts that now require tribal consent for the museum exhibit. One immediate effect of the hall closures will be the suspension of school field trips.

“The number of cultural objects on display in these Halls is significant, and because these exhibits are also severely outdated, we have decided that rather than just covering or removing specific items, we will close the Halls,” Decatur wrote in the Jan. 26 memo to museum staff. He added that cases throughout the museum displaying Native Hawaiian items will also be covered while the museum initiates consultation.

The announcement comes just after an October 2023 change by the American Museum of Natural History, that updated policies for removing human remains from display cases prioritized repatriation efforts for the remains of more than 12,000 individuals AMNH holds in its facility. Of those, 2,200 are Native American, and thus fall under NAGPRA requirements.

“Cultural objects” are not the same thing as “human remains.”

Frankly, I’ve always found it concerning that people could dig up corpses and display them. I think what they do with the Egyptian mummies, for example, is obviously wrong. But banning museums from owning “cultural artifacts” is ludicrous.

Does this mean that no one is allowed to own anything that was previously owned by an Indian?

You know, they said the term “Indian giver” was racist. It means someone gives you something and then says they want it back. However, that term is apparently referencing a totally real thing. Indians will give you their artifacts to display at your museum, then demand you give them back, and create laws to force you.

This is Joe Biden’s doing, of course. I suspect the Indians are planning to attach hoaky “cultural museums” onto their casinos. They don’t have any more of these “cultural artifacts” because as much as they whine about how sacred their stupid culture is, they all just live in trailers and drink cheap liquor. They’re not out there in the shadow of the casino doing ancient shamanic rituals, as they would apparently have you believe.

Indians do not care about museums or their heritage or anything else. The only thing Indians care about is alcohol, and getting free money from the local reservation casino to buy more alcohol.

A California professor who claimed she was Native American for her entire life has revealed she is white, apologizing for breaking the trust of the Native communities she lived alongside.

Elizabeth Hoover, an associate professor in the Environmental Science and Policy Management department at UC Berkeley, said she “incorrectly identified” herself based on “incomplete information, according to a statement posted to her personal website on Monday.

“In uncritically living an identity based on family stories without seeking out a documented connection to these communities, I caused harm,” Hoover said.

“Growing up I did not question who I was told I was, or how I identified,” Hoover said. “But as an adult, as an academic, I should have done my due diligence to confirm that my ancestors were who I was told they were.”

Hoover’s Twitter account, which hasn’t been tweeted from since 2020, features multiple Native American protests the professor was a part of and the many food summits she attended.

Identifying as Native American, she revealed she had access to resources she wouldn’t have if she only identified as a white person.

For the second time in under two months, a statue dedicated to former President Abraham Lincoln statue was defaced in Chicago.

On Thanksgiving, a statue of a young Abraham Lincoln in Senn Park in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood was found covered in splotches of red paint along with the words “COLONIZER” and “LAND BACK,” the Chicago Tribune reported.

According to the outlet, the statue also had “Dakota 38” written on it, in reference to the Dakota Sioux members who Lincoln ordered to be executed following the Dakota War of 1862.

Lincoln commuted the sentences of 264 Dakota fighters but sentenced 38 to be hung in Minnesota, which became the largest mass execution in US history.

A similar message was written across another statue of the 16th president in Lincoln Park, roughly six miles away from Senn Park, on Oct. 11.

The vandals, who remain unidentified, allegedly wrote, “Dethrone the colonizers,” “Land back!” and “Avenge the Dakota 38.”

The Indians were completely savage, and the only reason we had to take their land is that they simply would not chill. We tried to make treaties with them and so on, but they couldn’t understand the concept or they just didn’t care.

The idea that history is stagnant and you have a permanent claim to any land that your ancestors lived on however many hundreds or thousands of years ago doesn’t make any sense at all. Before any of that could happen, however, senior program manager Allison Weins had a ritual to perform.

Digital entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan shared a clip of their opening remarks on Thursday, describing it as “woke capital incarnate.” He followed it with another short video, featuring two more Microsoft employees – Natalia Godyla and Nic Fillingham – introducing themselves in a similar fashion.

“I’m a Caucasian man with glasses and a beard. I go by he/him and I’m a security evangelist,” Fillingham said.

I’ve never even seen this before today. Did I miss something? When did the issue of clothes and hair styles enter into this?

“Perhaps one of the reasons why so many in our society are saying, ‘Well, I can be spiritual, but I don’t have to belong to any religious organization,’ is because religious faith communities have failed to live up to their scriptures and to our words,” Sutton said. “We need to put our money where our mouth is. And reparations is one way to do that.”

Supporting black reparations will make FEWER people abandon the church like it’s a sinking ship!

Panelists were asked what they tell those who oppose reparations on the grounds that they’re not guilty of slaveholding or racism and shouldn’t be asked to pay for those crimes. Sutton said it’s not about guilt but a responsibility to repair the damage caused.

“Reparations is not a transfer of money from white people to Black people,” Sutton said. “It’s rather what this generation will do to correct the wrongs that previous generations have started.”

Clearly, there is no way to transfer responsibility without transferring guilt. In the context of a crime, guilt and responsibility are the the same thing. It’s just a word game to say “it’s not about guilt but responsibility.”

According to this report, virtually every church in America is doing this.

In Minnesota, the Swedes are even talking about the Indians!

They want a truth and reconciliation commission for things that happened hundreds of years ago!

The Minnesota Council of Churches has cited a host of injustices — from mid-19th century atrocities against Native Americans to police killings of Black people — in launching a first-of-its kind “truth and reparations” initiative.

The initiative engages a diverse collection of 25 Christian member denominations, including some that are predominantly Black, and will model some of its efforts on South Africa’s post-apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It is based in Minneapolis, where the police killing of George Floyd last May sparked global protests over racial injustice.

“When I was growing up, white supremacy was a problem of the South. … Within the last five years, just here in Minneapolis, we’ve had the killing of Jamar Clark, Philando Castile, George Floyd, Daunte Wright,” said the Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs, the council’s director of racial justice. “All of this within 7 miles of each other, each one of those young men all at the hands of police, all unwarranted killings.”

“How did we, as a city of Minneapolis, how did we get to this point? And the only answer one can arrive at is white supremacy.”

Why don’t they arrive at a definition of what “white supremacy” is?

It is just standard protocol whenever you’re talking about anything to draw up definitions. But we’re now being told that “white supremacy” is both the core problem and the defining order of the entirety of Western society – and yet none of the people saying this feel the need to define it.

Andrew Anglin, editor of Tranny Watch, has joked about being a “white supremacist.” This website was labeled a “white supremacist” website. But even back then, before the whole society went nuts, this term was never defined.

If this is a real thing, why can’t there be a definition?

No one should be able to keep talking about this unless they agree to provide a working definition of the term.

Remember: even the Jews were forced to provide a working definition of anti-Semitism! The Jews! They forced them to provide a definition!

As the U.S. faces a reckoning over its history of racism, some Native American tribal nations that once owned slaves also are grappling with their own mistreatment of Black people.

When Native American tribes were forced from their ancestral homelands in the southeastern United States to what is now Oklahoma in the 1800s — known as the Trail of Tears — thousands of Black slaves owned by tribal members also were removed and forced to provide manual labor along the way. Once in Oklahoma, slaves often toiled on plantation-style farms or were servants in tribal members’ homes.

Nearly 200 years later, many of the thousands of descendants of those Black slaves, known as Freedmen, are still fighting to be recognized by the tribes that once owned their ancestors. The fight has continued since the killing of George Floyd last year by a Minneapolis police officer spurred a reexamination of the vestiges of slavery in the U.S.

The Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole nations were referred to historically as the Five Civilized Tribes, or Five Tribes, by European settlers because they often assimilated into the settlers’ culture, adopting their style of dress and religion, and even owning slaves. Each tribe also has a unique history with Freedmen, whose rights were ultimately spelled out in separate treaties with the U.S.

Today, the Cherokee Nation is the only tribe that fully recognizes the Freedmen as full citizens, a decision that came in 2017 following years of legal wrangling.

When the federal government sought to break up tribal reservations into individual allotments after the Civil War, they created two separate tribal rolls — one for members with American Indian blood and one for Freedmen. In many cases, tribal citizens who appeared Black were placed on the Freedmen rolls, even if they had blood ties to the tribe.

Of the Five Tribes, only the Chickasaw Nation never agreed to adopt the Freedmen as citizens, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society.

The Muscogee (Creek) and Choctaw nations have cited tribal sovereignty as reasons for their opposition to citizenship for Freedmen. When Democratic U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters of California last year attempted to force the tribes to reconcile the Freedmen issue by inserting language into a housing bill, Choctaw Nation Chief Gary Batton said the U.S. government is responsible for the Freedmen’s plight, not the Choctaw Nation.

“There is no more fundamental element of tribal self-governance than the authority of a Tribe like the Choctaw Nation to determine our own citizenship,” Batton wrote in a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Ultimately, it might be a decision for the federal courts to make. Osborne-Sampson said she and other Freedmen are consulting with an attorney on how to proceed.

These Native Americans owned slaves, and to this day don’t view the descendants of those slaves as citizens of their tribe.

The US airports security agency has apologised to a Native American activist after an inspector pulled her hair and said “giddy-up”.

Tara Houska was travelling through the Minneapolis, Minnesota, airport when the incident took place during a security screening.

“My hair is part of my spirit. I am a Native woman,” she wrote on Twitter, adding that she was “humiliated”.

“My braids are not reins,” she tweeted to her more than 30,000 followers.

Ms Houska, a prominent activist and lawyer, was returning from a climate march in Washington DC, where she protested alongside celebrities Jane Fonda and Joaquin Phoenix.

In recent decades various groups across North America have appealed to the team to renounce the logo, to no avail. But over the past year the commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred, has pressured Paul Dolan, Cleveland’s chairman and chief executive, to make a change.

Citing a goal of diversity and inclusion, Manfred said in a statement provided to The New York Times that the Indians organization “ultimately agreed with my position that the logo is no longer appropriate for on-field use in Major League Baseball, and I appreciate Mr. Dolan’s acknowledgment that removing it from the on-field uniform by the start of the 2019 season is the right course.”

All professional sports seem to be spiraling into a SJW-induced suicide, alienating their core audience with no regards for their bottom line.
