A mother-of-four was handcuffed in front of her children and hauled off to jail after she allowed her 11-year-old son to walk less than a mile into a small town.

Brittany Patterson went to drive her eldest son to a medical appointment on October 30, and her youngest, 11-year-old Soren, was supposed to tag along – but was not around when it was time to leave, Reason Magazine reports.

She had figured he was simply playing in the woods or visiting his grandmother, Patterson told the outlet, noting that her father lives with them and her mother and sisters live just two minutes away.

But it turned out Soren decided to walk to downtown Mineral Bluff, a town of just 370 people that is less than a mile from their home.

Mineral Bluff is 87% white and 0% black, so the odds of anything happening to him were pretty low.

He was spotted alongside the road by a woman who asked if he was OK, and even though he replied that he was, the woman called police, the magazine reports.

A female sheriff’s deputy then picked up the boy, and called Patterson.

‘She asked me if I knew he was downtown and I said, “no,”‘ the mother said.

She said she was upset that Soren had gone into town without letting anyone know, but did not think there was a reason to worry.

The deputy, however, ‘kept mentioning how he could have been run over, or kidnapped or “anything” could have happened,’ Patterson said.

The deputy ultimately drove Soren home and left him with his grandfather.

When Patterson ultimately returned home, she scolded her son for his actions – which she thought was the end of her woes.

But at around 6.30pm that night, the deputy showed up with another officer, handcuffed Patterson and brought her to jail, where she was fingerprinted, had her mugshot taken and was put in prison garb, according to an online fundraiser set up for her legal bills.

She said she did not understand what was happening, as she had grown up in the area with unsupervised time to wander and play, and was raising her children that way as well.

Patterson was ultimately released on a $500 bail – but her troubles did not end there.

The following day, a case manager from the Division of Family and Children’s Services arrived at her house for a home visit and even interviewed Patterson’s oldest son at his school.

The case manager told Patterson everything seemed fine, she told Reason Magazine, but a few days later, the Division of Family and Children’s Services presented her with a ‘safety plan’ for her to sign.

Brittany Patterson can send me on a walk anytime she wants, if you catch my drift. 

It would require her to delegate a ‘safety person’ to be a ‘knowing participant and guardian’ and watch over the children whenever she leaves home.

The plan would also require Patterson to download an app on Soren’s cellphone to monitor his location – something she has refused to do.

She instead reached out to attorney David DeLugas, the head of ParentsUSA – a nonprofit that provides pro bono legal help to parents wrongly arrested and prosecuted for child neglect.

An assistant district attorney has since told DeLugas that if Patterson were to sign the safety plan, the criminal charges against her would be dropped.

But DeLugas responded by saying that if Patterson was being compelled to sign a safety plan just because her son walked somewhere without her knowing his exact location, he would be prevented from visiting friends or having any independence whatsoever.

She now faces a reckless conduct charge, a $1,000 fine and one year in jail.

Last Tuesday the government of Aragon, led by the Socialist Javier Lambán, revealed the Law of Democratic Memory (Ley de Memoria Democrática). It is a legal text that aims to repair and protect the memory of the victims of the Civil War and of Francoism.

The Ley de Memoria Democrática provides sanctions that vary between 200 euros, for minor infractions, up to 150,000 euros for the most serious violations. The introduction of this text punishes expressions that may injure the dignity of the victims of the Franco dictatorship and the Civil War. So, for example, in accordance with the prevailing norms, singing “Cara al sol” [Face to the Sun, Falangist anthem] or performing the fascist salute could result in a fine of up to 150,000 euros.

The text considers all symbols – flags, posters, plaques, crests – that glorify the Francoist period to be contrary to its provisions. It also urges the public administrations of Aragon to adopt the measures required to remove them. Those that do not comply with the provisions of the law will no longer receive subsidies and aid from the government currently led by Lambán.

The BBC has revealed it will use people’s “personal information” to “stop” them being “disruptive” or “offensive” online, as well as threatening to inform users employer if they are perceived to have broken the law.

The national broadcaster revealed the threat in a new 28-page ‘Privacy and Cookies Policy’ document, which contained a section on “offensive or inappropriate content”.

“If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on or to BBC websites or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on any BBC service, the BBC may use your personal information to stop such behaviour”, the section claimed.

In Britain the speech laws are so demented that you don’t even have to be “racist” or “sexist” or whatever to be arrested, just being mean is enough to have police knocking at your door at four in the morning.

This is what we call the “nanny state” AKA the “Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone! State.”

Britain doesn’t have any serious crimes going on, so it’s good for the cops to stretch out their legs from time to time.

It is unclear how the BBC would deploy user’s personal information to alter their behaviour online, and there are not detail given as to what actions they would include within the broad and subjective bracket of “offensive, inappropriate or objectionable”.

The threat to contract third parties such as “your employer, school email/internet provider or law enforcement agencies” about “content and your behaviour” is limited to “where the BBC reasonably believes that you are or may be in breach of any applicable laws”.

However, why the BBC might want to peruse people via their job or education – rather than allowing the criminal justice system to run its course – is also unclear.

It’s only unclear if you have the White Privilege to not see clearly how your hatred genocides people of color, minorities, women, human rights and the environment.

Cops have arrested a man after a series of “appallingly racist” fake Pokémon stickers appeared at London Tube stations and bus stops.

The stickers, created under the name “Pakémon”, copy the popular game which sees kids swap and collect different creatures for points.

Far from the innocent game we’ve come to know and love, the Pakémon stickers depict a number of high profile Muslims, including the Mayor of London, who is described as “the most dangerous Pakémon”.

The stickers are even branded with a version of the infamous Pokémon slogan, “gotta catch ’em all”, but it doesn’t end there.

Altering the tagline, the maker also threatens to “deport them all”.

The 46-year-old, from Sutton, south London, was taken into custody on Thursday on suspicion of inciting racial hatred

One version of the sticker with an image of Sadiq Khan emblazoned on it, reads: “He believes that Londoners should learn to accept Islamic terrorism while he is mayor.”

The maker offers collectors “200 Terror Points” for the sticker of Khan, who is dubbed “Hamaskhan”.

A 29-year-old unnamed man was first to share an image of two of the “appallingly racist” stickers he found at Borough Tube station to his social media account.

He told the Evening Standard: “I felt disgusted and very disappointed that we now live in a Britain where some people feel empowered or protected to do this.

“They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it.”

Police are investigating comments made by Tyson Fury in which he appeared to link homosexuals to paedophiles.

The world heavyweight boxing champion linked abortion and homosexuality with paedophilia, in an interview with the Mail on Sunday’s Chief Sports Writer Oliver Holt.

The interview took place before his big fight with Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf, Germany, last week.

The self-proclaimed Gypsy King said: ‘There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home.

‘One of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other is paedophilia. Who would have thought in the 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalised?

‘When I say paedophiles could be made legal, it sounds crazy. But if I had said to you about the first two being made legal in the 50s, I would have been looked upon as a crazy man.

‘If I would have told you 120 years ago that a 1,000-ton aeroplane is going to fly through the sky, a piece of steel, that would have been considered ludicrous.

‘People can say, ‘You are against abortions, you are against paedophilia, you are against homosexuality’, but my faith and my culture is based on the Bible.’

His comments sparked outrage and Greater Manchester Police has today confirmed they are investigating his comments after receiving a complaint, accusing Fury of a hate crime.

Officers will speak to Fury and take a statement from the boxing star as part of their inquiries.

Fury has also been accused of sexism, by saying fellow BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee Jessica Ennis-Hill ‘looked good in a dress’ and for expressing a number of controversial views on women in sport.

However, police are only investigating his comments regarding homosexuality. And Fury has since defended his comments.

The devout Roman Catholic said: ‘Men don’t look good in dresses. Women do. And what? Why is that bad?

‘Why should it be for a sportswoman not to look nice in dresses? Are they not allowed to do that? Do they have to be treated like men all the time?’

‘I’m a little bit backward I didn’t really go to school so which part of ‘a woman looks good in a dress is sexist’? I stand up for my beliefs.

‘My wife’s job is cooking and cleaning and looking after these kids, that’s it. She does get to make some decisions – what she’s gonna cook me for tea when I get home.’

The problem here is that any masculine male is going to have these views, as such beliefs are determined by the same chemicals in your brain which determine aggression and physical strength.

As such, what they are actually saying when they say “you can’t hate faggots and think women should be cooking and having babies” is “you are not allowed to possess a masculine male identity.” This is part of the Jew-feminist war on men.

Correction: the Jew-feminist war on White men.

Note that no one goes around harassing Moslems about their views on women, which are much more aggressive than Fury’s views on women. Moslems actually make their women wear bags.

Of course, the line of reasoning is “these women like wearing bags.” And I don’t know, of course, but I would assume this is true. On the face of it, it appears to be true.

A: Starting with the nineteenth century the welfare state has been progressively put in place in order to compensate for the disappearance of organic and community solidarities which, with the rise of individualist ideology, have become dissolved.  Today the welfare state it is morphing into a sort of “therapeutic state”— if we were to borrow an expression by Christopher Lasch. This therapeutic state can be defined as an unholy alliance of the medication process and the state, setting up all sorts of unjustified obstructions to our freedom. The authority is becoming more and more maternal, albeit maternal in a way of a possessive mother eager to maintain its subjects in total dependency. The unilateral relationship with the state replaces the ancient social bonds. This hygienic control augurs social control. Medicine itself, when taking part in the control of populations, becomes totalitarian.

The dominant human type of today is the immature narcissist, ignoring all realties other than his own, and who, above all, wishes to satisfy all his cravings. This infantile type of a human being, predictably of liberal-libertarian orientation, is perfectly in line with a system which, as Marx wrote, drowns everything “in the icy waters of egoistic calculation.” What follows is a therapeutic civilization centered on the “Me” only. Pierre Manent  rightly stresses that liberalism means primarily renouncing to apprehend human life in terms of its own good and its own finality. In a society ruled by the entertainment industry in which nobody asks himself about the meaning and significance of his presence in the world, body-care of the Self becomes the alpha and omega of human life.  Not only does it signify being of good health, but also “feeling good about oneself,” and thus forgetting one’s own finitude. While expecting immortality in this world, the dream of eternal youth grips all those who have never become adults, and who conceive now of their life as a maternal fusion defying any symbolic order, while thriving  in a culture of the present tense that has expelled any meaning of historical continuity. Henceforth society functions according to the principles of mimetic rivalry, as a form of “ego rivalry” (in Freudian terms), i.e., with  the Self  being stripped off of its “id” and its  “superego,”  convinced now it is the center of the universe. This only facilitates the war of all against all.

Q. What does that mean anyway?

A: The trend is growing toward the “psychologization” of all political and social problems. The rising tide of insecurity becomes now a “social problem,” unemployment becomes “individual misfortune,” mass immigration becomes “human drama” (in which only “living together” can bring about remedy). Thus one ignores the highly political nature of the problems and the responsibilities that come along with them. There are no more exploited people, but only the “unhappy,” the “victims,” the “less well off,” etc., who can only express their “complaints against the unknown.”

Instead of highlighting the modalities of alienation inherent in the dominant System, one resorts instead to “psychological support units” aimed at remedying the “feelings of unease.” The rise of the emotional, side by side with the ideology of compassion, goes hand in hand with liberal glorification of the private realm. However, the dissemination of therapeutic ways of thinking is bound to marginalize the family and school, while leaving intact the process of domination. The propaganda of the commodities, while emancipating from the old forms of authority, only enslaves better by means of conditioning through advertising. The societal replaces the social, with cultural liberalism covering up the damages caused by market-driven economic liberalism.

Any material or emotional desire is immediately transformed into a “right.” In the capitalist System, the will to over-accumulate only feeds on this limitless desire. The extension of the logic of the commodity implies thereafter the destruction of everything that can slow down the desire of having more and that may encourage disinterestedness. As Jean Vioulac writes: “The advent of  the consumer society imposes the dissolution of everything that may slow down the purchase of goods, and therefore halt the abolition of all moral regulations against immediate self-gratification. Liberalism, by virtue of its deregulation and de-institutionalization of all human activities is a political project aiming at the complete dismantling of the order of law, and as such it is one of the most powerful motors of nihilism.”

Q. Over the years, there was a trend to scare us to death with the Bolshevik peril, then with the Le Pen menace, then with the threat of the Islamist tidal wave, and now, with terrorism and global warming. And yourself, Alain de Benoist, what are you afraid of?

A.: You may certainly recall Beaumarchais who wrote in his Barber of Seville : “once you give way to the fear of evil, you already experience the evil of fear.” Given that fear is a bad advisor, I think it is especially important to be afraid of the fears of others.  As far as I am concerned I have always had hard time facing the silliness of the right and the sectarianism of the left.  On different days one or the other worries me most. But neither do I like the petty “bullies” that George Bernanos writes about — i.e., those who beat their chest about never dispensing anything to beggars and who indulge in hate-prone politics.  A genuine sensibility is contrary to the hardness of heart and to fake sentimentality.

Police are investigating a hate crime in a Derbyshire town after a swastika was drawn in snow.

Overnight between December 26 and 27 a racially offensive word and a swastika were drawn in the snow on the bonnet of a car parked on Church Street, in New Mills.

Someone living on the street was extremely upset by what was written and police are appealing for witnesses or information.

Up to a quarter of schools are taking pupils’ fingerprints – in many cases without telling parents, civil liberties campaigners claimed last night.

More than a million children have had them taken at schools where fingerprint-reading equipment is used in canteens and at registration to save time for staff.

The technology allows teachers – and some parents with online access – to monitor whether a child has turned up at school, what classes they have attended, the food they have eaten and the library books they borrow.

Around two fifths of secondary school pupils had given the so-called biometric information by the start of the 2012 academic year.

But many were not told they could refuse, according to the campaign group Big Brother Watch.

The figure is likely to be much higher because schools began gathering prints more quickly before a change in the law in September forced them to  get written permission from parents.

Big Brother Watch, which used Freedom of Information requests to uncover the scale of the practice, fears the information will be kept on school databases or by third-party organisations such as the IT firms that supply and maintain the systems. In fact, it should be deleted when a child leaves secondary education.

Director Nick Pickles urged parents to ask headteachers whether their children’s details had been recorded secretly.

He also warned that pupils were being conditioned to take the loss of their privacy for granted.

He said: ‘Our major concern is that if you introduce children to providing a thumb print and being tracked across different services, they will be conditioned to think that is normal.

‘That should ring alarm bells for parents and anybody who wants a civil society with proper boundaries for privacy.

‘Parents will be rightly concerned to hear so many schools did not seek their permission to fingerprint children, while pupils may not be aware they have a right to use a system that doesn’t require a fingerprint.’

Revenue inspectors are using Google maps to spy on homes and trap suspected tax dodgers.

Images from Google Earth, which allows users to zoom in on satellite views of properties, give the taxman clues about lifestyles and wealth, such as cars and home improvements.

Officials at HM Revenue & Customs will feed the data into a supercomputer to try to decide whether to investigate homeowners already believed to be paying too little tax.

Google Earth is the latest weapon in HMRC’s battle to close a £35billion gap between what it believes individuals and companies owe and the tax that is actually collected.

It says tax evasion and the hidden economy – customers not paying VAT on home repairs, for example – cost the UK taxpayer £9billion a year. HMRC has spent nearly £1billion over the past three years trying to enforce the rules.

Over the past 18 months, it has set up dozens of taskforces to probe the tax receipts and business practices of industries as diverse as restaurants, private cab firms, hairdressers, outdoor markets, car dealerships and even Avon Ladies.

It has also spent £50million on the supercomputer, which is called Connect.

Created by defence giant BAE Systems three years ago, it now holds more than a billion pieces of information about any taxpayers it suspects of not declaring everything that they owe.

It includes tax payment records, interest on bank accounts, details of any properties owned, loans, job history and electoral records. Paul Aplin, tax partner at accountants AC Mole, said: ‘The Revenue can use Google Earth to look for clues. This could include for your lifestyle, such as cars outside your home, or to look at the state of renovations or repairs to check they’re as described on tax forms.

Four children, ages 7 to 14, have been forcibly taken from their Darmstadt, Germany, home by police armed with a battering ram, and their parents have been told they won’t see them again soon, all over the issue of homeschooling, according to a stunning new report from the Home School Legal Defense Association.

HSLDA, the world’s premiere advocate for homeschoolers, said the family of Dirk and Petra Wunderlich has battled for several years Germany’s World War II-era requirement that all children submit to the indoctrination programs in the nation’s public schools.

The shocking raid was made solely because the parents were providing their children’s education, HSLDA said. The organization noted the paperwork that authorized police officers and social workers to use force on the children contained no claims of mistreatment.

“The children were taken to unknown locations,” HSLDA said. “Officials ominously promised the parents that they would not be seeing their children anytime soon.”

The raid, which took place Thursday at 8 a.m. as the children were beginning their day’s classes, has been described by observers as “brutal and vicious.”

A team of 20 social workers, police and special agents stormed the family’s home. HSLDA reported a Judge Koenig, who is assigned to the Darmstadt family court, signed an order authorizing the immediate seizure of the children by force.

“Citing the parents’ failure to cooperate ‘with the authorities to send the children to school,’ the judge also authorized the use of force ‘against the children’ … reasoning that such force might be required because the children had ‘adopted the parents’ opinions’ regarding homeschooling and that ‘no cooperation could be expected’ from either the parents or the children,” HSLDA said.

Dirk Wunderlich told the homeschool group: “I looked through a side window and saw many people, police and special agents, all armed. They told me they wanted to come in to speak with me. I tried to ask questions, but within seconds, three police officers brought a battering ram and were about to break the door in, so I opened it.”

His narration continued: “The police shoved me into a chair and wouldn’t let me even make a phone call at first. It was chaotic as they told me they had an order to take the children. At my slightest movement the agents would grab me, as if I were a terrorist. You would never expect anything like this to happen in our calm, peaceful village. It was like a scene out of a science fiction movie. Our neighbors and children have been traumatized by this invasion.”

Human rights violations

Michael Farris, HSLDA founder, said in a report the actions violated a number of established European precedents, including provisions of the European Convention of Human Rights.

“The right to homeschool is a human right,” he said, “and so is the right to freely move and to leave a country. Germany has grossly violated these rights of this family.

“This latest act of seizing these four beautiful innocent children is an outrageous act of a rogue nation.”

Farris said the U.S. Constitution is “not alone in upholding the right of parents to decide how to educate their children.”

“Germany is a party to numerous human rights treaties that recognize the right of parents to provide an education distinct from the public schools so that children can be educated according to the parents’ religious convictions,” he said.

“Germany has simply not met its obligations under these treaties or as a liberal democracy. HSLDA and I will do whatever we can to help this family regain custody of their children and ensure that they are safe from this persecution. This case demonstrates conclusively why the Romeike asylum case is so important. Families in Germany need a safe place where they can educate their children in peace.”

As WND reported, the Romeike case has been submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. In 2010, an immigration judge granted asylum in the U.S. to the family, which fled Germany because their children were forced to go to public schools.

The Obama administration, unhappy with the outcome, appealed and obtained an order from a higher court that the family must return to Germany. The Obama administration has argued in court parents essentially have no right to determine how and what their children are taught, leaving the authority with the government.
