Mexican authorities arrested soldiers who were part of a patrol that opened fire on a pickup truck killing six migrants, federal prosecutors said on Thursday, two days after the incident.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the killings, which happened the day she was inaugurated, and the country’s Catholic bishops sharply criticized the growing power of the military.

Six people died and 10 were injured in southern Chiapas state on Tuesday near the border with Guatemala after soldiers fired on the truck transporting 33 migrants.

“It’s a regrettable event and it must be investigated and punished,” said Sheinbaum during a press conference. “A situation like this cannot be repeated.”

Mexican federal prosecutors have identified three of the victims as Egyptian nationals, while one came from Honduras and another from Peru. Sheinbaum noted that one of the dead migrants was from El Salvador.

The other 27 migrants include citizens of Egypt, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Cuba, according to prosecutors.

In its initial description of the deadly incident, Mexico’s defense ministry explained that soldiers opened fire after the pick-up truck tried to evade a military patrol and that soldiers reported hearing explosions before two officers opened fire.

Thousands of migrants, detained for months in southern Mexico, formed a new caravan in protest on Sunday to head for the capital to speed up their applications for U.S. asylum.

The migrants, mostly Venezuelans, started their march north early in Tapachula, the city bordering Guatemala whose detention centers have been overwhelmed by their vast numbers. Some said they expected to reach Mexico City in about 10 days.

Fleeing violence and poverty in Central America, thousands of migrants walk together for safety to Mexico each year, crossing several states in hopes of finding a legal route into the United States.

The new caravan has about 3,000 migrants, some from China and other Asian countries, Tapachula authorities estimated.

One of the largest migrant caravans of all time is making its way to the U.S.-Mexico border, just as President Biden heads to the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.

The caravan now is 11,000 strong and on Monday departed Tapachula on the Mexico-Guatemala border and the group is expected to swell up to 15,000.

Many of the migrants come from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, three countries whose authoritarian rulers have been left out of this week’s summit.

On Monday Mexican President Manuel Lopez Obrador confirmed that he would not attend the gathering in protest because leaders from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela had not been invited. An administration official cited ‘lack of democratic space’ and human rights situations’ in the trio of nations as reasoning for leaving them out.

Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard will attend the conference in López Obrador’s place.

Other migrants in the caravan hail from Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and even India, Bangladesh and some African countries.

The caravan is making its way northward as the Biden administration is fighting in court to end Title 42, the pandemic-era Centers for Disease Control (CDC) restriction that allows border agents to quickly expel migrants.

Title 42 was supposed to end on May 23 but a federal judge in Louisiana granted an injunction on Friday that prevented the government from ending the policy.

Nearly 2 million migrants have been expelled under the policy since it was first implemented.

The Biden administration has stressed that the CDC has the authority to end Title 42 because it is a public health order, not an immigration order, but both Democrats and Republicans have called on the administration to rethink its ending of the policy.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have said they expect up to 18,000 migrants per day once Title 42 is lifted. Border resources are at capacity when 5,000 migrants attempt to cross per day.

U.S. authorities stopped migrants more than 234,000 times in April, one of the highest marks in decades as the Biden administration prepares to lift pandemic-era restrictions on claiming asylum.

The figure is a 22-year high and surpassed the previous high of Biden’s presidency of 209,906 set in March, and the highest level since March 2000, when it reached 220,063.

As you struggle to get by, the government is continuing to divert resources to these hordes, who they are replacing you with.

U.S. border agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in February, according to two people familiar with preliminary figures, the highest monthly total since a major border surge in mid-2019.

The figures, which have not been previously reported, show the scope of a growing migrant influx at the southwest border as U.S. President Joe Biden, a Democrat, seeks to roll back some of the restrictive policies of former President Donald Trump, a Republican. February was Biden’s first full month in office.

Last month’s total would represent the highest tally for the month of February since 2006. The sources who provided the figures to Reuters spoke on the condition of anonymity.

An increasing number of children arriving at the border without a parent or legal guardian has forced U.S. officials in recent weeks to scramble for housing options and take steps to speed up their release to sponsors in the United States.

The nearly 100,000 migrants detained at the border in February represent an increase over a figure of 78,000 in January. February’s total appears to be the highest monthly number since June 2019 during a large border surge that Trump cited as justification for a broad immigration crackdown.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman said official statistics for last month likely will be released next week.

If they really detained 100,000, then it must have been close 1,000,000 that crossed. Obviously, most of them don’t get caught.

This is now clearly the biggest border crisis in all of history, as these people know that amnesty is coming.

When all is said and done, they’re going to give citizenship to more than 50 million people. Possibly a lot more than that.

They want to make certain that voting our way out of this is impossible.

But as Andrew Anglin said today, the point is not the total numbers. Our goal is to create a consciousness among our own people, and then we can win against whatever the odds happen to be.

I remain eternally pessimistic that any plan to stop migrant caravans by leaning on the Mexican government will succeed. Mexico is run by a hostile Jew/Castizo elite that intentionally floods the United States with human refuse while they themselves make off like bandits. They know that the president’s hands are tied because there is no political will to get serious with Mexico and secure the border. Any promises they make to keep central Americans from rushing us cannot be trusted.

Hundreds of Central American migrants crossed the river into Mexico from Guatemala Thursday after a days long standoff with security forces.

Carrying U.S. and Honduran flags at the head of the procession, they walked along a highway toward a waiting contingent of dozens of national guardsmen with riot shields and body armor and vans from the National Immigration Institute.

Jose Luis Morales, a Salvadoran leader of the caravan, said the migrants want to negotiate to be allowed to pass peacefully.

But Mexico has cracked down on the large caravans seen previously following intense pressure from Washington last year.

Thursday’s movement was a resurgence of a migrant caravan that had been diminishing since its last concerted attempt to cross the border Monday was turned back by Mexican National Guardsmen posted along Suchiate river, which forms the border here. 

There is a debate here whether Mexico will allow the migrant caravan to pass through and continue north to the wallless United States border. Mexico has been paid off by Trump’s people to not allow anymore migrant caravans, but the Mexican government has every incentive in the world to just break their agreement because Trump can only offer carrots, not sticks when he’s making deals with them.

And it’s not like it’s even Trump doing the dealin’. Last I checked, Jewish saboteur Jared Kushner was in charge of the border now.

Nearly one thousand people gathered in the Honduran town of San Pedro Sula on Tuesday evening to form a new caravan bound for the US border.

The hopeful migrants first mobilized on social media, their number taking authorities by surprise as previous online appeals have failed to garner a significant response.

‘There are more than 800, almost a thousand,’ a police official told AFP.

Among the bustling crowd were a number of families with young children seeking to escape the rising violent crime and unemployment levels currently blighting the Central American country.

Many of the migrants set-off on their 1,600 mile journey to the border on Tuesday evening in a swell of overcrowded minibuses. Others huddled together and slept in the streets as they awaited more shuttles.

‘We are done with this government, there is no work,’ said 27-year-old Alexis Perez ahead of the voyage.

More of the congregation left on Wednesday morning and were pictured walking on foot and cramming into the back of pick-up trucks as they departed from the Metropolitan Center towards the Guatemalan border.

Government officials, aid workers and activists in Central America are mystified by U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to cut off nearly $500 million in aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador in response to what he calls an immigration crisis. Over time, they say, it will only worsen the problem.

At risk of falling on the chopping block are development programs that work to tackle the root causes driving migration: poverty, inequality, violence and corruption. These include outreach to at-risk youth to combat forced gang recruitment as well as programs to address gender-based violence and support education, workforce development and the uphill fight to root out endemic graft.

“It’s illogical and it’s irresponsible. … You’re talking about long-term challenges that are going to require long-term, sustainable solutions,” said Adriana Beltrán, a Central America specialist at the Washington Office on Latin America. “So rather than helping to stabilize the situation and try to address these long-term challenges, the cut in assistance will only make the situation worse.”

“Gutting important programs,” she added, “will eventually lead to more migration, more insecurity, more corruption, more impunity in these countries.”

Not sending browns your money is “illogical and irresponsible.”

Keep in mind these are “experts.”

Rick Jones, who works in El Salvador as the youth and migration policy adviser for Catholic Relief Services, counsels young people to keep them out of gangs and help them get jobs. He also runs behavioral therapy for inmates to deter them from returning to crime — all things that have “a positive impact to help guys think about and change their behavior,” he said.

It’s seen as unglamorous but badly needed work, especially in a place like El Salvador, which has a homicide rate that is among the world’s highest at more than 50 per 100,000 people last year.

But all $38 million that Catholic Relief Services gets from U.S. government agencies to run programs in the three countries — including ones on education and jobs — could disappear if the cutoff goes through.

If that happens, “it will be sending the message, ‘Help is not on the way … and you’re going to be left on your own,'” Jones said. “And basically people left on their own are going to be more desperate and more people are going to leave.”

Likewise, Vicki Gass, Oxfam America senior policy adviser for Central America and Mexico, said that axing funding for programs that have been running for years, would, in many cases, “waste U.S. taxpayer dollars that have already been invested” and “foster the same instability that is making people flee in the first place.”

Some government programs aimed at persuading Central Americans not to emigrate have been put in place, in part in response to Trump’s earlier criticism about the migrant caravans that brought thousands trekking toward the U.S. border, and the threatened aid cutoff does not take that into account, officials say.

“This goes against what we have seen in reports that show there have really been some decreases in migration, and that they are the result of the efforts being made on this issue,” said lawmaker Yanci Urbina of the left-leaning FMLN party in El Salvador, the least populated of the three countries and a distant third in terms of how many migrants are heading for the U.S.

Salvadoran Treasury Minister Nelson Fuentes said U.S. aid in his country includes $20 million in technical and fiscal funding over five years, and the government has not gotten word of any cuts. Another $200 million to spur growth and employment is managed in tandem with the World Bank, and it remains to be seen whether this will be reduced. Finally there are direct donations from Washington to the Salvadoran government and private organizations.

Fuentes said aid for security and migration could be affected, but that actively funded contracts should not be.

In Guatemala, the most significant aid comes in security assistance to fight drug trafficking — and that has already come under scrutiny recently over questionable use of armored vehicles donated by Washington. Other funds through USAID go to help programs on things like agriculture and education in poor rural communities, plus training for prosecutors, who have waged a high-profile fight against corruption in recent years, or for judges.

Honduran political analyst Omar García called U.S. aid to his country “vital” and said the threatened cuts show that Washington is “an unreliable ally for Honduras.”

See? You didn’t take into account that the money you were giving them was used in anti-migration programs, so now they’ll be coming in even higher numbers to your country.

Chiapas is the historic entry point for Central Americans arriving in Mexico from the neighboring country.

A man among a group of migrants detained in a desolate part of New Mexico near the border with Mexico has been diagnosed as infected with flesh-eating bacteria, the U.S. Border Patrol said Friday.

What’s worse? The flesh eating bacteria being imported into America or Border Patrol providing care and “diagnosing” the invader?

The man was taken to a hospital in recent days after telling a federal agent that he had a growing rash on his leg, U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Carlos Antunez said.

Flesh-eating bacteria are a rare condition called necrotizing fasciitis that spreads quickly and can be fatal. The bacteria usually gets into the body through a minor cut or scrape and can cause a serious infection that can destroy muscle, skin and other tissue.

A statement from border patrol officials said the unidentified migrant will require extensive medical treatment. Antunez said he could not provide more details or the man’s condition.

Another 300 migrants, mostly Central Americans, were detained Thursday south of Lordsburg near an official U.S.-Mexico border crossing, Antunez said. Some had illnesses and injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Nearly 10,000 migrants have been detained at New Mexico’s three Border Patrol stations since Oct. 1, officials said.

There were 12,800 detentions at the three stations from October 2017 through September 2018.

You can thank the caravans for that insane increase.

Remember that they want to be detained because more often than not that means that at least they’ll be in America.

Eusebio Gomez thought his arduous journey to the U.S. and monthslong wait in the border town of Tijuana, Mexico, would end when he made it to American soil. But a shift in the Trump administration’s immigration policy could mean more waiting.

The Mexican government said Friday that the United States plans to return 20 migrants per day at the San Ysidro border crossing as they await an answer to their asylum requests. The practice could be one of the more significant changes to the immigration system in years.

Gomez, who was one of 25 names called for processing Friday at San Ysidro, said he would feel far less safe waiting in Tijuana, with its sky-high homicide rate. The 18-year-old Honduran said he wanted to come to the U.S. to escape violence.

Juan Portillo, 38, who arrived in Tijuana two months ago from Venezuela with his wife and 7-year-old daughter, said he was fleeing political oppression after protesting President Nicolas Maduro’s government.

“We do not feel safe” in Tijuana, Portillo said, shortly before Mexican authorities whisked him, his family and seven others away in a van to be turned over to U.S. authorities.

But what about the people of Tijuana, huh? Shouldn’t we let all of them in first since they’ve been in Tijuana for far longer and therefore experienced the fear of being in Tijuana forr far longer?

Advocacy groups condemned the idea. The Southern Poverty Law Center warned it would create more chaos at the border. Astrid Dominguez, director of the ACLU’s Border Rights Center, said in a statement that it endangers lives. A legal challenge is expected.

“Being in Mexico endangers lives.” Okay then, what do we do with such a cursed patch of land? Do we nuke it? We could just let every Mexican into America before nuking it, because Mexicans are definitely not what makes Mexico unsafe and nightmarish. No, that’s just something the land does.

The whole country is like that cemetery in “Pet Sematary.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California and Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York, both Democrats, released a statement warning that the changes would harm asylum seekers.

“Asylum seekers are easy prey for criminals and gangs in Mexico, but the Trump plan forces people to remain in harm’s way, even if there is a significant possibility they will be persecuted or tortured in Mexico,” they said in a statement.

“Being anywhere outside the United States puts people in harm’s way.”

Akbar Heybari of Iran, who has been paying for a Tijuana hotel with his wife and children, ages 15 and 12, said he would much prefer to stay with a niece who is studying medicine at the University of California, Irvine.

“It’s good (in Tijuana), but we don’t want to stay here more,” said Heybari, a grape farmer who plans to seek asylum on grounds of government persecution for his political activities.

See, that’s what we have this “asylum” thing for, to absorb highly valuable grape farmers from Iran and their entire families. Also for Venezuelans that escape Venezuela after causing Venezuela to be Venezuela. Oh, and for 18-year-old Hondurans that are definitely needed in America because they’re young and hearty and we don’t have any young and hearty people.

These are the creatures that feel entitled to our stuff.

There’s never talk about how we benefit from this “asylum” circus because there’s literally no benefit for us. It’s such a giant problem for us that attempting to spin something as a benefit would make it even more obvious that this is just a terrible, horrible deal for us. That’s why there’s never ever even a hint of a mention of how we could benefit from all of this. Ignoring the subject proved to be more effective than making stuff up about how letting endangered dangerous shit-hole-producing apes is a good thing for us.
