As much as I love the actor Brendan Fraser, I think his black equivalent here would have made a much better lead in George of the Jungle.

Life without parole and an additional 10 to 21 years in prison: that was the sentence handed down Monday morning in the case of a man convicted of beating a 73-year-old in McKees Rocks to death in June 2016.

Branden Frazier, who was 25 at the time of his arrest, was convicted in the killing of Benito Nicoletti.

Police said Nicoletti’s body was found after his family asked officers to check on him. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

During Frazier’s trial, jurors were shown pictures of the victim’s wallet, key fob and credit cards found in an alleyway in Stowe Township. Jurors were also shown clothes worn by Frazier that were covered in blood.

A father and his 14-year-old son are recovering after they were allegedly attacked the day after Christmas.

Glenn and Justin Woods alleged they were beaten under the McKees Rocks Bridge and had their car stolen on Dec. 26, 2019.

Glenn Woods apparently spotted a table that appeared up for grabs along Munson Avenue and picked up his son from their nearby home to help him put the table in the car.

Justin Woods says as they were carrying the table to the vehicle, three males approached them and began making conversation before they unexpectedly attacked Glenn Woods.

The 14-year-old tried to help his father.

“They picked me up and threw me on the floor and punched my jaw two times,” Justin Woods said.

He has bruises on his face and staples in the back of his head.

Glenn Woods spent over four days in the hospital with severe injuries.

“His entire face is basically broken,” said Glenn Woods’ daughter Jodie Woods. “Broken nose, broken cheekbones, bruising all over his face. He’s home now and suffering from severe headaches.”

After the attack, the three suspects allegedly drove away in the family’s car.

McKees Rocks Police say they still have not been able to locate the car and the suspects were three black males wearing all black.

Justin Woods says all of the suspects appeared to be between the ages of 15 and 18.

Allegheny County Police are calling the death of a McKees Rocks man a homicide.

Back on May 26, 44-year-old David Poole was walking home with a friend near the West Park neighborhood in the Stowe Township/McKees Rocks area.

Poole and his friend were attacked by three men and robbed of $60 in cash. Poole was struck on the head with an object during the robbery.

He passed away Saturday morning at a local hospital from his injuries. County police have ruled the death a homicide.

The thieves also stole Poole’s friend’s purse and his cell phone.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

A woman arrested in connection with the robbery of an elderly woman in Bellevue is accused of a similar crime in Ross Township.

Crystal Rudolph, 48, of McKees Rocks, was arrested Tuesday after she was seen on surveillance video stealing an envelope from a 71-year-old woman’s purse at a Dollar General, police said.

Paul Murphy, 55, was also arrested for his alleged involvement in the robbery.

“They told me she was actually in my purse three times, and I didn’t even feel that,” said Helen, the 71-year-old woman Rudolph is accused of robbing. “The first thing that came out of my mouth was, ‘Why me?’ I mean there were people there, and (the police) said, ‘Ma’am, not to hurt your feelings, but you’re older, you’re dressed nice.’”

Rudolph was later released from police custody. However, Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski learned Friday that she is suspected in a purse snatching in Ross Township.

Kaminski reported that police are calling Rudolph a “serial criminal” who steals from the elderly.”It’s likely that she’s targeting these individuals possibly before they come into the store,” said Ross Township Sgt. Benjamin Dripps.
