Malaysia’s government announced Wednesday that it was imposing a ban on all Israeli owned and flagged ships, as well as any vessels headed to Israel, from docking at its ports.

The announcement by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s office said the ban would take place with immediate effect and was in response to Israel’s conduct in its conflict with Hamas.

“This sanction is a response to Israel’s actions that disregard the basic humanitarian principles and violate international law through the ongoing massacre and continuous cruelty against the Palestinian people,” the statement read.

Muslim–majority Malaysia has long championed Palestinian rights and causes. Like nearby Indonesia, Brunei, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Pakistan, it does not recognize Israel.

In a parliamentary speech made in November, Anwar said that the government would maintain ties with Hamas and “would not punish” the group following its October 7 rampage in Israel in which some 1,200 people were killed, mostly civilians, and saw more than 200 hostages taken.

Malaysian passports also bear the inscription: “Valid for all countries except Israel.” Israeli passport holders are forbidden to enter Malaysia without prior permission.

Owners or sellers of rainbow-coloured timepieces made by the Swiss watchmaker Swatch face three years in prison in Malaysia, the interior ministry has said, as the Muslim-majority country rails against LGBTQ+ symbols it says could “harm morals”.

Homosexuality is outlawed in Malaysia and LGBTQ+ people face discrimination.

Malaysia’s law enforcement unit at the interior ministry raided Swatch stores at 11 shopping malls across the country in May, including in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, for timepieces bearing what it called “LGBT elements”.

Anyone who “prints, imports, produces … or has in his possession” such items faces a jail term of up to three years, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday. Any individual wearing or distributing the watches could also be fined 20,000 Malaysian ringgit (£3,425), according to the ban notice.

“The Malaysian government is committed to preventing the spread of elements that are harmful or may be harmful to morals,” the ministry said in a statement.

It said the watches “may harm … the interests of the nation by promoting, supporting and normalising the LGBTQ+ movement that is not accepted by the general public”.

A group of Malaysian musicians and festival vendors are preparing a class action lawsuit against the 1975 after frontman Matty Healy’s onstage criticism of the government’s anti-LGBTQ+ at the Good Vibes festival saw the entire event cancelled.

On Friday, Healy paused the band’s set at the Kuala Lumpur event to admit that he hadn’t looked into the country’s punitive LGBTQ+ laws before agreeing to perform there. “I don’t see the fucking point, right, I do not see the point of inviting the 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with,” he said.

While international artists were paid in full prior to the event, payment terms differ for local artists, a representative for festival promoter Future Sound Asia told NME. “Unfortunately, the unforeseen cancellation of the festival does throw a spanner in the works. It’s a very regrettable situation and we fully acknowledge the impact on our local talent – all of whom have been immensely supportive in these challenging times.”

Twenty eight food vendors were also said to have been affected. Future Sound Asia called the cancellation a “catastrophic financial blow”.

Mathew Thomas Philip of Malaysian law firm Thomas Phillip labelled Healy’s remarks “a deliberate reckless act done knowing well [sic] of the consequences”.

At a town hall meeting attended by musicians, vendors and media in the Hartamas area of Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, Philip said: “My view is that the 1975 must be held responsible and accountable for the losses suffered by the artists and vendors.” Five musicians and vendors are currently participating in the class action, Philip told NME, and seek general damages alongside exemplary and aggravated damages.

A three-day music festival in Malaysia has been cut short after the lead singer of the 1975 criticised the country’s anti-LGBTQ+ laws on stage.

The British band, fronted by Matty Healy, were performing at the Good Vibes festival in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

While on stage, Healy criticised the Malaysian government’s position on LGBTQ+ rights and said the band had made a mistake in deciding to perform in the country.

“I made a mistake. When we were booking shows, I wasn’t looking into it. I don’t see the fucking point, right. I do not see the point of inviting the 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with,” Healy said in a video recorded by a fan in the crowd.

Healy then went on to kiss his bandmate, Ross MacDonald, on stage. The band’s performance came to an end after officials ordered them off stage. As they walked off, Healy said: “All right, we just got banned from Kuala Lumpur, see you later.”

“Healy’s unprofessional behaviour and overt defiance of Malaysian laws and regulations are disturbing.”

A Philippines military plane has crashed in Sulu province. So far, 40 people have been rescued, and 17 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage.

Philippines military chief Cirilito Sobejana confirmed that a C-130 transport plane had crashed in Jolo, the province’s capital. The plane, which was transporting troops at the time of the accident, missed the runway while landing and crashed into a nearby village, Sobejana explained. Reports citing the military said that at least 85 passengers were aboard the aircraft.

At least 40 people have been rescued so far, while the current death toll stands at 17. Military and civilian firefighters are currently working to put out a fire that has reportedly engulfed much of the aircraft.

Twitter took action against a message from the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, on Thursday that declared, “Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.”

The post violated Twitter’s glorification of violence policy, which requires the violator to remove the tweet before they’re able to tweet from the account again.

Mohamad, who has over 1.3 million followers, sent the hateful message as part of a lengthy thread that detailed his thoughts on a recent murder. He began the series of tweets by writing “RESPECT OTHERS” in all capital letters before explaining that “a teacher in France had his throat slit by an 18-year-old Chechen boy. The killer was angered by the teacher showing a caricature of Prophet Muhammad. The teacher intended to demonstrate freedom of expression.”

Mohamad said, “killing is not an act that as a Muslim I would approve,” but he doesn’t think insulting other people should be included in freedom of expression. 

“You cannot go up to a man and curse him simply because you believe in freedom of speech,” he wrote.

“But irrespective of the religion professed, angry people kill. The French in the course of their history has [sic] killed millions of people. Many were Muslims,” Mohamad wrote before he posted the tweet. 

“Since you have blamed all Muslims and the Muslims’ religion for what was done by one angry person, the Muslims have a right to punish the French. The boycott cannot compensate the wrongs committed by the French all these years,” he added following the claim that “Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.”

Meanwhile, Twitter will hide the tweets that violate its policy until the person decides to remove the message. 

Frankly, this is just another place where it is none of Twitter’s business what this guy says.

Clearly, it is a negative opinion that Moslems should kill the French. However, how is Twitter capable of making that judgement? Who gave them the right to make these kinds of decisions?

By the way: what is going on with the French? What is the purpose of pushing this issue with the cartoons? France doesn’t have freedom of speech – you can and will get locked up in France for questioning the Holocaust, even though the Holocaust is obviously a hoax.

It would be more meaningful to burn a Koran, as that demonstrates a total hatred and condemnation of the entire religion and the racial groups associated with it. Muhammed cartoons are esoteric, in that you have to have researched the religion to even know why these people are getting so mad over it. I just want to make my position explicit: Twitter has no place interfering with anyone’s right to say anything, and if he’s calling for killing, then that needs to be weighed against the laws of the United States, where Twitter is headquartered. Even totally isolated, the statement doesn’t break the law.

With regards to violent speech, Brandenburg v. Ohio is the standard in these United States, and that tweet is very far from breaking that law.

I’m not going to defend the Moslem. It’s really gay to defend Moslems. I have reflexively started to do that with Iran before, and I felt really gay afterward, so I’m conscious to not do it. But what the State Department is doing in Africa forcing them to have gay sex is not any different. It is a serious problem, but what the West has done to Africa is trick them into structuring their economies around foreign aid. The era of the IMF “economic hitman” is over, and the West now gives the money as foreign aid and takes resources in exchange for the aid. So, cutting aid is a form of sanctions, because the West set up these economies to be built around the aid. What they are doing is threatening countries that they will cut the foreign aid if they don’t start having anal sex with men.

So far, the one country that has stood up against that is Zambia. Their president, Edgar Lungu, is a Christian – following the rules that white colonists first brought to his country – and he will not yield to gay anal.

He sent out the US Ambassador last year because he was promoting man-on-man anal sex, and said that he will not take the aid money if it is attached to gay sex.

It’s impossible not to respect that in a world where we’ve come to believe that everything has a price.

The former editor of Charlie Hebdo, Philippe Val, has written a “manifesto” about how Islam needs to be reformed to protect Jews. I don’t know if he himself is Jewish, but he wrote that. So, that’s what these cartoons are about: weakening the will of Moslems so that they are no longer a threat to Jews. France is being used to push that agenda.

Moslems first invaded France in the 8th century. The French never drew these cartoons in 1200 years. Drawing these cartoons is nasty and weird and it doesn’t have anything to do with anything. But as with Laura Loomer’s sign about Twitter being anti-Semitic, the masses of conservative people will see that the Muhammed cartoons are upsetting Moslems, who they dislike, and assume that the Muhammed cartoons must be good. They don’t reason things through further than that.

Moslems have invaded us, they’ve stolen our women, they’ve looted our treasuries, with the Jews at their back, pushing them onward.

We should be having a Crusade against Islam. Not drawing rude cartoons against them and giggling.

“Do not nag your husband” is timely advice for the coronavirus lockdown.

It’s actually pretty good advice in general, but these days people tend to be more stressed than usual due to the virus hysteria and social isolation, and nagging stressed people can be a formula for disaster.

Malaysia has the largest number of COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia with more than 2,900 and counting. This week, Malaysia’s government also had a serious public relations issue after an ill-conceived plan went online.

Malaysia’s Ministry for Women, Family and Community Development issued a series of online posters on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #WomenPreventCOVID19. It advised the nation’s women to help with the country’s partial lockdown by not nagging their husbands.

The ministry also advised women to refrain from being “sarcastic” if they asked for help with household chores. And it urged women working from home to dress up and wear makeup.

“(It) is extremely condescending both to women and men,” Nisha Sabanayagam, a manager at the advocacy group All Women’s Action Society, told Reuters. “These posters promote the concept of gender inequality and perpetuate the concept of patriarchy.”

The posters drew swift ridicule online.

“How did we go from preventing baby dumping, fighting domestic violence to some variant of the Obedient Wives Club?” wrote @yinshaoloong.

“Avoid wearing home clothes. Dress up as usual, put on make-up and dress neatly. OMG! This is what Rina, our Minister of Women, Family & Community Development thinks is important during the #COVID19 lockdown?” tweeted @honeyean.

After this torrent of abuse, the ministry abruptly relented late Tuesday and abandoned its campaign. It said its suggestions were simply aimed at “maintaining positive relationships among family members during the period they are working from home.”

The ministry acknowledged that the advice could have offended some people and promised to “remain cautious in the future.”

Women’s groups around the world have warned that the lockdowns could result in a rise in domestic violence, and some governments are reaching out to women in need. The latest World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap index puts Malaysia at 104 out of 153 countries when it comes to women’s political empowerment and economic participation.

Too bad that the ministry abandoned the campaign, because the advice was sound: don’t nag your husband, don’t be sarcastic, and dress nicely.

It’s just common sense stuff and basic cohabitation etiquette.

Husbands suffering from nagging wives should also be considered victims of domestic violence and abuse, especially now that due to the lockdown, there’s nowhere for them to run.

While in the US every single heterosexual man in the country has been declared a de facto rapist by the court system, Malaysia is holding it down and showing no sympathy for these hoes.

A flight attendant who was sacked for being about 700g heavier than the airline’s maximum weight allowance has lost her unfair dismissal case in court.

Malaysia Airlines flight supervisor Ina Meliesa Hassim had been with the airline for about 25 years when she lost her job in 2017.

Under company policy, flight attendants had to ensure their body mass index (BMI) was in the “healthy” range, Malaysian news outlet The Edge Markets reported. For 160cm-tall Ms Hassim, that meant her weight could be no greater than 61kg.

Her contract was terminated when an official weigh-in found she weighed 61.7kg.

Ms Hassim filed a complaint against the company for unfair dismissal.

But a Malaysian industrial court ruled in favour of Malaysia Airlines at a hearing on February 14.

Did the judge also slap her fat ass as she exited the courtroom?

This is great and it is inspirational.

Remember: there is no actual legitimate reason why technological advancement leads to the institutionalization of anti-social behavior.

Because that is what they’re saying when they talk about “progress.” The only objective progress we’ve experienced is in the field of technological innovation, and then they claim that this means you have to have all of these new bizarre social norms.

Yes, technological advancement did mean that it was going to be more likely for women to work, but it did not mean that they had to take over.

It’s always fascinating to see what the Jewish media does and does not report about Asia.

When the Burmese kick Bangladeshi Moslems back to Bangdalesh, or Panda Emperor Xi Jinping teaches Turkish Moslems how to not be terrorists, the moral outrage and Holocaust condemnation is endless.

However, when tens of thousands of Malaysian Moslems show up to protest a UN convention against racial discrimination, the WSJ puts an article behind a paywall and the public consumption media remains silent.

They want to portray racial policies as the exclusive domain of megalomaniacal dictators, and not as something strongly supported by the people themselves. They absolutely do not want you to notice that every single people on earth, with the sole exception of Westerners since the 1960s, have recognized their own racial interests and tried to promote them.

Tens of thousands of Malaysian Muslims have rallied in Kuala Lumpur against any attempt to strip the ethnic Malay majority of its privileges.

The rally on Saturday is the first massive street gathering since Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad’s alliance won a historic vote in May.

The rally, backed by the country’s two largest opposition Malay parties, was initially aimed at protesting a government plan to ratify a UN treaty against racial discrimination.

Critics say that ratifying the treaty would end Malay privileges under a decades-old affirmative action policy. The plan to ratify was eventually abandoned, but organisers decided to proceed with what they called a “thanksgiving” rally.

Racial clashes have been rare in multi-racial Malaysia since deadly riots in 1969.

A year later, Malaysia instituted a preferential program that gives Malays privileges in jobs, education, contracts and housing to help narrow a wealth gap with the minority Chinese. Ethnic Malays account for nearly two-thirds of the country’s 32 million people, with large Chinese and Indian minorities.

Police said there were at least 55,000 people on the streets. Many wore white T-shirts and headbands with the words “Reject ICERD”, referring to the UN treaty – the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

Obviously, you don’t care much about what happens in Asia. I’m telling you this story because it illustrates our own situation.

Malaysian Chinese make up about 23% of the total population of the country, and they own a lot more than 23% of the wealth. The Chinese have never met a country that they didn’t want to buy, but so far the Malay people benefit from their industry because they are willing to riot if they do not get a slice of the pie, like they did in 1969.

This is not unlike the arrangement our ancestors had with the Jews during Monarchy, under which the Jews got to deal with money-lending, which was correctly seen as a dirty business, as long as our folk had the courts, the armies, the Church and the peasant mobs with which to curtail the influence of their money.

In retrospect, this was obviously a bad idea, since that situation lead to the situation we are in presently, in which we have also lost the courts and the Church to the Jews. Still, Charlemagne never let Jewish money-lenders teach little girls to be gross whores in the style of Hannah Montana.

Unlike Jews, the Chinese are not parasites by nature and actually produce things, so it is good for the Malays to keep them around. However, as they just demonstrated – and as the French are now demonstrating – if a foreign ethnicity has disproportionate control of your economy, the people must pressure the government until it uses the force of law to make the foreigners pay dividends back to the people in exchange for being allowed to operate on their land.
