The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office announced that they now have Joseph Villarreal in custody in connection to the murder of Nicholas D. Winter, 37, who was fatally shot Thursday night.

According to police, the shooting happened around 10 p.m. on the 2300 block of 145th Street in Little Rock.

Police say Winter died at the scene of the shooting.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office had previously stated Villarreal was wanted for the murder and was considered armed and dangerous.

According to NLRPD, on Wednesday, Feb. 26 officers responded to Edgewood Cemetery at 2:25 p.m. and found one victim, later identified as 33-year-old Kristopher Dacus, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say that the suspect, 15-year-old Kelton McIntire, and three other unnamed individuals were walking through the cemetery. Dacus was an employee of Edgewood Cemetery and reportedly told the juveniles they couldn’t walk through the grounds.

The three individuals began to run to an exit while McIntire reportedly walked slowly across the cemetery, ignoring Dacus’s instructions to leave. When Dacus approached McIntire, a struggle ensued.

North Little Rock police say that McIntire then shot Dacus multiple times with a handgun and fled the scene.

The 15-year-old was then apprehended at an apartment on Parkway.

McIntire is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder. He is set to appear in court Thursday morning around 9 a.m.

During his court appearance on Thursday, Feb. 27, McIntire pleaded not guilty on the first degree murder charge.

North Little Rock police have located a woman on Sunday who was abducted from at the Keller Mobile Home Park on Washington Street Saturday.

Susan Lee Smith, who was abducted during a home invasion, was found safe on Sunday said the news release.

According to the release, during the home invasion, a male victim was shot and later died at an area hospital.

Police identify the male victim as 54-year-old James Harold Griffin of North Little Rock.

Detectives with the North Little Rock Police Department believe that this is an isolated incident and that there is no active threat to the community at this time.

Police are searching for two black male suspects.

Authorities said the incident is an on-going investigation and that more information will be released as it becomes available.

Police arrested a Little Rock man who allegedly bit and struck woman after she caught him digging through her trunk outside of the city’s zoo, according to court records.

Authorities said 53-year-old Curtis Coleman attacked a 32-year-old woman after she returned to her car Friday morning while visiting the Little Rock Zoo.

The woman told officers when she confronted Coleman, he “bit her right hand” and began “hitting her in the face, causing injury,” according to the police report. The report said she later went to the hospital for her injuries.

Police said Coleman ran off toward War Memorial Stadium after the alleged attack. Officers chased him and arrested him, the report said.

Coleman was charged Monday with felony robbery, as well as a lesser fleeing from police and battery infraction.

Two teens arrested in the killing of a U.S. airman during a gas station robbery in North Little Rock will be held without bond, a North Little Rock judge ordered Tuesday.

Drequan Lamont Robinson and Keith Harris Jr., both 18 years old, face charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery. They appeared in North Little Rock District Court before substitute Judge Jim Hamilton via video from the Pulaski County jail.

Police said the two were involved in an armed holdup at a Valero gas station at 601 W. Broadway St. on Friday. Shawn Mckeough Jr., a 23-year-old U.S. Air Force specialist from Maine, tried to stop the holdup. One of the robbers fatally shot Mckeough.

Police said Robinson was arrested at a motel Monday night. Harris was arrested Tuesday morning.

According to police, Harris told investigators he was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the robbery. Harris reportedly said he knew the robbery was going to happen.

One of two suspects charged in the 2016 murder of Todd Sieber in a Little Rock auto detail shop was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Feb. 12.

“She said ‘I’m sorry’ and so far she’s the only one who’s had any remorse at all,” Sieber said before entering the Pulaski County courtroom herself, flanked by family and friends.

Sieber, who was 47 at the time, was at Hines Auto Detail on Capitol Avenue when witnesses said Hampton entered the shop asking to use the restroom. The suspect then pulled out a gun and pointed it at a customer.

Sieber drew a gun and was shot in the stomach. He died from the injury at UAMS.

The final defendant linked with the 2016 murder of Todd Sieber in Little Rock plead out in exchange for a conviction of second-degree murder and 50 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Taelon Johnson, 23, handed the gun to Alundra Hampton, who then shot and killed Todd Sieber outside Hines Auto Detail after a failed robbery on Nov. 15, 2016.

According to officials, Corey Williams served as an accomplice by driving the getaway car.

Williams negotiated a deal to lessen his capital murder charge to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 55 years in prison.

Cynthia Sieber, the widow of Todd Sieber, believes justice has been served but the emotional wounds remain.

“We have a pretty big family and my daughter is really struggling right now so I just ask for continued prayers,” Sieber said. “Now we have to live our new normal life without him.”

A man is behind bars after a shooting outside the La Michoacana ice cream shop that left one dead and three more injured, including the suspect.

Authorities say Ahmad Salaam, 39, was taken into custody Thursday after being released from the hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound.

When police initially arrived at the ice cream shop, Salaam was performing CPR on an unresponsive victim<, identified as Justin Foster, 31, and told officers he had been acting in self defense.

Foster was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Officers on the scene also located two additional gunshot victims, identified as 59-year-old Maria Briceno-Gonzalez and 27-year-old Juan-Carlos Jiminez, who they said were innocent bystanders.

Salaam was served with a warrant for second-degree murder and is being held in the Pulaski County Regional jail.

Police have arrested a second suspect in the killing of a bank security guard inside his home earlier this month.

The Little Rock Police Department says Malcolm Jamel Cooksey, 24, faces charges in the beating death of Fred Pohnka, 68.

A second suspect has been identified by police in the July 8 killing of a bank security guard inside his home.

Malcolm Jamel Cooksey (see attached photo), 24, is described as 6’2″ tall and 165 pounds.

He’s wanted for the murder of Fred Pohnka, 68, who police say co-workers found him beaten to death inside his South Jackson Street home when he did not show up for work.

(11:00 a.m.): A young woman has died after a hit and run on the city’s southwest side.

It happened Wednesday night just after 6 on the parking lot of a store near the intersection of S. University Ave. and Colonel Glenn Road.

The victim is identified as Heather Cater, 22, of Traskwood (Saline County).

Police say Cater had just gotten off work from Rock City Smiles, a dental clinic, and was in the parking lot with co-workers when a driver in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe flew through the parking lot while trying to get away from plainclothes deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. There’s no word yet on why they were chasing the unidentified driver, who had at least one passenger in the vehicle with him.

Cater died after being taken to St. Vincent, according to police.

The Little Rock Police Department says it learned the SUV involved in the chase was reported stolen right about the time the hit and run happened. The owner who had called police told them her nephew had been driving the vehicle when it was taken.

Police say the driver kept going after hitting the woman. The SUV then hit two parked cars before the driver jumped out and ran away from the scene.

(Update: 8:00 p.m.): The suspect involved in Wednesday’s night hit-and-run that killed Heather Cater was a suspect in a drug transaction.

The incident report states that Pulaski County Sheriff’s Narcotics investigators observed the transaction at Walgreens on S. University. Investigators seized one of the suspects who had 19.5 grams of marijuana.

Investigators attempted to obtain the other suspect, Denonte Jones, 18, who was driving a black SUV.  Jones backed up the vehicle and left the area.

Investigators saw the black Tahoe hit Cater.

Jones was arrested Thursday and faces 4 felony charges: Capitol Murder, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death, Delivery of a Controlled Substance and fleeing.

His court date was scheduled for Oct. 21.
