The Russian military is selecting targets in Ukraine for further possible strikes using the country’s new Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missiles, President Vladimir Putin warned on Thursday.

Potential targets for the missiles could be “decision making centers” in Kiev, the Russian leader warned, during a meeting with Moscow’s key regional allies in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Military facilities could also be targeted, along with defense and industrial enterprises – “especially since the Kiev regime has repeatedly attempted to strike at facilities of national importance in Russia,” Putin explained.

Moscow already has several Oreshnik missiles at its disposal and has begun the large-scale production of the advanced weapon system, he added.

Addressing his counterparts from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Putin reiterated that the first Oreshnik launch last week had been Moscow’s response to Western countries granting permission for Kiev to fire long-range weapons deep inside Russia. This made NATO member states directly involved in the conflict, he added.

The hohols have attacked the Kremlin with drones.

There is no reason not to just blow up every “decision-making center” in Kiev.

They could also easily shut off all of the country’s electricity, and they could bomb the bridges being used to supply the frontlines.

No one who doesn’t want to be annexed by Russia has been annexed by Russia. There have been a sum total of zero (0) partisan attacks by citizens of the former Ukrainian provinces on Russian forces.

Ukrainians are fighting to conquer land occupied by people who do not want to be ruled by them. And some of their politicians have admitted this, saying that if they take the territories back, they will have to force out the Russian-speaking population.

Nothing has been “conquered” by Russia, because no one was forced under the rule of someone they didn’t want to be ruled by. That is what these Jews and their “Ukrainians” are trying to do.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a July 21 interview that President Volodymyr Zelensky will likely need to hold a public referendum before agreeing to any territorial compromises with Russia.

The statement follows a proposal by former U.S. President Donald Trump for a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. As Trump’s victory in the Nov. 5 presidential election becomes more likely, efforts are underway to sway him to Ukraine’s side and ensure that any potential deal is favorable to Kyiv.

Any deal would be favorable.

“The next few months will be very difficult for Volodymyr Zelensky. Should he continue the war with new deaths and destruction, or consider a territorial compromise with Putin?” Klitschko said during an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. “How can we explain to the country that we need to give up pieces of our territory that cost the lives of thousands of our fighting heroes? Whatever move he makes, our president risks political suicide.”

It’s going to be really, really difficult to explain why nearly a million people have died fighting this war only to end up with much less land than they would have had if they would have simply surrendered on day 1.

He said that “Zelensky will probably need to resort to a referendum.”

“I don’t think he can reach such painful and important agreements on his own without popular legitimization,” Klitschko added.

Three-quarters of Ukrainians were opposed to Ukraine making territorial concessions to Russia to reach a peace deal, according to a poll published in December by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, a slight decrease from the 84% who said were opposed in May 2023.

Klitschko and Zelensky have been at odds since the president’s first year in office. The conflict has played out in repeated investigations and attempts to remove the mayor from the Kyiv City State Administration.

Obviously, Zelensky is no longer politically viable.

Klitschko probably isn’t either, but he appears to be knifing Zelensky in the back to try to gain some kind of political advantage in the post-war rump state.

This doesn’t seem to be going very well

People would have liked to have seen Russia take more territory, but Russia is tired of the war, and if Bibi decides Trump needs to end the Ukraine war to focus on the Middle East, he will do that.

Recent statements by Trump imply he’s going to be pretty supportive of the Ukraine.

But if you think about his statement at the RNC that “Putin is trying to conquer all of the Ukraine” (which literally no one believes), that could potentially be seen as a setup for accepting Putin’s deal, which is that Kiev officially surrender only about 20% of the country. He can then say “Putin was gonna take it all, I did Art of the Deal and he only got 20%.” Americans are too fat and stupid to know that this was Putin’s offer.

But I have no predictions on what Trump will do with the Ukraine. He could go either way and it wouldn’t surprise me.

At this point, after all that Zelensky and his people have done, the citizens of Kiev might well welcome the Russians as liberators, just as they did in the East.

If they don’t welcome the Russians, they can of course flee to Lvov.

No new Western military capability would be a game changer for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in Kiev on Monday, as he announced the latest batch of weapons aid from Washington.

The Pentagon chief was asked during a press conference whether F-16 fighter jets, which the Ukrainian government eagerly expects to join its fleet, would significantly affect the conflict. Kiev and some of its supporters have previously talked up supplies of new Western weapons as potentially turning the tide in Ukraine’s favor.

Kiev has been talking about weapons systems “turning the tide” since spring of last year.

They got a whole lot of new weapons systems, and they continued to lose.

“You’ve heard us say a number of times that there is no silver bullet in a conflict like this,” Austin warned. “Whether it’s F-16s, whether it’s HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System), whether it’s something else, it’s the way that you go about utilizing those capabilities and integrating it, synchronizing the capabilities to produce the right effects on the battlefield.”

Austin announced a new package of military assistance worth around $100 million during his visit. It includes one HIMARS system and an unspecified number of additional missiles and artillery shells.

This is a lot less than the $100 billion Biden was trying to secure.

Russia has described Austin’s recent arrival in Kiev as a “mission of moral support.” Anatoly Antonov, Moscow’s ambassador to Washington, said the Pentagon chief’s aid announcement was “nothing more but a sedative pill prepared by overseas ‘benefactors’ for Zelensky.” The envoy further claimed that the Ukrainian government was on the brink of complete collapse.

It certainly looks like the Ukraine government is on the brink of collapse and it’s not just Russians saying that. Westerners are saying that if the US doesn’t force through a big package soon, the Ukraine will collapse.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainians are denouncing the West for calling for peace talks, and are calling for brutal, endless war and death.

Kiev is worried that its Western backers are calling for peace out of an irrational fear of Russia, Aleksey Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said on Monday.

Danilov spoke via video link to the annual conference of the Halifax International Security Forum, a Washington, DC-based pressure group funded in part by the Canadian government.

“Ukraine is concerned by the fact that discussions among certain partners have intensified regarding the need for negotiations, consultations, meetings with the Russians to discuss the issues of the war in Ukraine, a ceasefire, etc.,” Danilov said, according to a transcript posted by his office.

He attributed this to a “rudimentary fear” of Russia and argued that the West should follow Ukraine’s example instead, as Moscow “only understands the language of force.”

According to Danilov, the current conflict is “a struggle between democracy and tyranny,” with the West and Ukraine on one side, and Russia, China, Iran and North Korea on the other. If Russia is not defeated, the world should expect a new “axis of evil” within 15-20 years that would include “some European countries” as well, he insisted. “Ukraine and the Ukrainian people will fight to the end. We are sure of our victory.”

President Vladimir Zelensky’s top security official described Ukraine’s idea of victory as the “controlled decomposition of Russia into several parts” leading not just to “regime change” in Moscow but the “de-sovereignization… denuclearization and demilitarization” of the neighboring country.

Meanwhile, he said, Ukraine needs more Western funding and support to restore its 1991 borders and become an economic powerhouse.

Two Ukrainians have drawn the attention of the Kiev police for marking the nation’s Independence Day by dancing on the graves of dead Ukrainian soldiers.

A video showing two young women dancing right next to a grave was published on social media on Thursday, August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day. A short clip shows at least one woman twerking in front of the camera while still standing near a grave accompanied by a photo of a man in military uniform.

Ukrainian police discovered the clip on Thursday evening. “In less than an hour, law enforcement officers had established [the women’s] whereabouts and brought them to the police department,” a statement by the Kiev police said on Friday, adding that the two sisters “face up to five years behind bars” on charges of “desecration of soldiers’ graves.”

It was later revealed that “two sisters came to the … cemetery and decided to ‘honor’ the memory of the fallen… in such a way,” the police added. The law enforcement service also published photos of the two women, still dressed in the same clothes they were wearing in the video, accompanied by a police officer. Their identities were not revealed.

According to Gladkov, four people were injured in the city of Belgorod. “I spoke to two of them at the scene. A man was wounded in the back, while a woman was wounded to the face. The two children were miraculously unharmed,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel. He added that 14 houses and nine cars were damaged.

Gladkov also said one person was killed on the outskirts of the regional capital, and another one was wounded. “A poultry farm was damaged,” he added.

Kiev’s forces did attempt to kill Russia’s Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov during a visit he made to the frontlines in Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, a senior aide to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has admitted.

Arestovich was commenting on a report by the New York Times on Saturday that claimed Washington, which backs Ukraine in the conflict with Russia, sought to talk Kiev out of targeting the Russian top Russian commander back in April.

That is clearly just more CIA disinfo from the NYT.

Kiev is not doing anything at all without Washington’s permission.

This story was planted to make it look like Kiev is bucking the State Department so that Washington can distance itself from any atrocity Kiev gets caught doing in the future.

The paper’s sources claimed that the US had concealed the information about Gerasimov’s possible planned visit to the frontlines from Zelensky’s government, over concerns that an attack on a valuable Russian asset could provoke a direct military confrontation between Russian and American forces.

The Ukrainians learned, however, about the commander’s trip through their own channels. “We told them not to do it. We were like, ‘Hey, that’s too much,’” a senior American official told the NYT. Kiev still shelled the positions where Gerasimov was thought to have been, but the general was unaffected by the strike, according to the outlet.

The paper claimed the US had learned of possible plans for Gerasimov to visit the frontlines and decided to withhold the information from Ukraine, out of fear that Kiev might try to kill the general, potentially sparking a conflict between the US and Russia, the NYT explained. The Ukrainian military had reportedly obtained the information about Gerasimov’s plans anyway.

“Let’s uncover a terrible mystery. Gerasimov was in Izium and we fired at Gerasimov. It happened,” Zelensky’s aide said, in a YouTube interview with Russian activist Mark Feygin on Sunday.

Kiev hit the Russian battle headquarters visited by the Chief of General Staff, but Gerasimov had already left when the shelling took place, Arestovich claimed.

Arestovich is not even Jewish, actually. He is one of a very small number of non-Jews in the Ukraine government.

People are acting outraged about monasteries being raided, but the fact is, it’s actually not unlikely that there is Russian activity at the monastery, and enemy activity anywhere – including in religious institutions – makes it a valid target of the security services. Ukraine’s SBU security service and police have raided a 1,000-year-old Orthodox Christian monastery in Kyiv as part of operations to counter suspected “subversive activities by Russian special services”.

The sprawling Kyiv Pechersk Lavra complex – or Kyiv Monastery of the Caves – is a Ukrainian cultural treasure and the headquarters of the Russian-backed wing of the Ukrainian Orthodox church that falls under the Moscow patriarchate.

The Russian Orthodox church, whose head, Patriarch Kirill, has strongly supported Moscow’s military actions in Ukraine, condemned Tuesday’s raid as an “act of intimidation”.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said in a statement: “These measures are being taken … as part of the systemic work of the SBU to counter the destructive activities of Russian special services in Ukraine.”

It said the search was aimed at preventing the use of the cave monastery as “the centre of the Russian world” and carried out to look into suspicions “about the use of the premises … for sheltering sabotage and reconnaissance groups, foreign citizens, weapons storage”.

The “Russian world” concept is at the centre of Vladimir Putin’s new foreign policy doctrine that aims to protect Russia’s language, culture and religion. It has been used by conservative ideologues to justify intervention abroad.

The SBU did not give details about the outcome of Tuesday’s raid.

On Tuesday, the SBU, police and National Guard also searched two other monasteries and the headquarters of the Moscow patriarchate’s diocese in western Ukraine, the SBU’s branch in the Rivne region said in a statement posted on Facebook.

When the power is out, as it so often is, the high-rise apartment overlooking Ukraine’s war-torn capital feels like a deathtrap. No lights, no water, no way to cook food. And the risk of not being able to escape from the 21st floor in time should a Russian missile strike. Even when electricity comes back, it’s never on for long.

“Russian strikes are plunging Ukraine into the Stone Age,” says Anastasia Pyrozhenko. In a recent 24-hour spell, her 26-story high-rise only had power for half an hour. She says the “military living conditions” have driven her and her husband from their apartment.

“Our building is the highest in the area and is a great target for Russian missiles, so we left our apartment for our parents’ place and are preparing for the worst winter of our lives,” said the 25-year-old.

The situation in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and other major cities has deteriorated drastically following the largest missile attack on the country’s power grid on Tuesday. Ukrainian state-owned grid operator Ukrenergo reported that 40% of Ukrainians were experiencing difficulties, due to damage to at least 15 major energy hubs across the country.

Warning that electricity outages could last anywhere from several hours to several days, the network said that “resilience and courage are what we need this winter.”

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, too, stressed the need to be ready and resilient in the face of a potential blackout: “Worst case scenario. Actually, I don’t like to talk about that, but I have to be prepared if we (do not) have electricity, blackout, no water, no heating, no services and no communication,” Klitschko told the AP on Friday.

Ukrenergo said in a statement that “thousands of kilometers of key high-voltage lines are not working,” affecting the entire country.

A sharp cold snap and the first snow have significantly complicated the situation in Kyiv, where temperatures are often below freezing in winter months. The cold forces people to turn on their heaters, which drastically increases the load on the grid and makes power outages longer. In light of the dropping temperatures, the Kyiv authorities announced they were setting up communal heating points.

In the city of 3 million people, 528 emergency points have been identified. Here, residents will be able to keep warm, drink tea, recharge their phones and get any necessary help. The heating points will be equipped with autonomous power sources, as well as special boiler rooms.

Mayor Klitschko, too, spoke of measures taken to prepare for energy outages with the onset of colder temperatures: “We prepared and we (asked for) electric generators (from) our partners, which they send to us. For this case, we have a reserve of diesel, (of) oil. We have a lot of warm stuff. We have medication.”

Many residents in Kyiv have begun to leave boxes of food, flashlights and power banks in elevators, in case anyone gets stuck in one for a long time. I’m of a strong opinion that Russia should just kill all the men in the Ukraine and rape all the women. Women like being raped, so they will raise their children as respectful normal Russians instead of “Ukraine people,” which is a totally fake concept.

However, I would at this point settle for just totally destroying the infrastructure of the Ukraine, and freezing out the weak.

Officials in Ukraine reported Russian attacks on critical infrastructure on Monday, with one claiming that some 40 missiles had been detected in the air.

All Ukrainian regions sounded the alarm in the morning, with the media reporting explosions in several parts of the country, including the capital Kiev. Anton Gerashchenko, an aide to the interior minister, urged people to take cover in shelters, claiming on social media that “at the moment, there are already 40 [Russian] missiles” incoming at targets in the country.

Some hits have been confirmed by regional officials. Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko reported that strikes on the capital had caused a partial blackout and disrupted the water supply. He said that due to damage to energy infrastructure, some 350,000 apartments were without power, while around 80% of consumers didn’t have water.

Kharkov Mayor Igor Terekhov, said there were two airstrikes, which targeted a “critical infrastructure site.” The city’s metro system also suspended work.

Igor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy regional administration, reported an attack on critical infrastructure too, adding that it had caused a partial blackout. His counterpart in Vinnitsa Region, Sergey Bozov, claimed that one missile was intercepted and “fell on civilian sites.”

A report on social media, claimed a transformer station serving the Dnieper hydropower plant in the city of Zaporozhye had been hit. Footage purportedly shot near the station’s dam showed black smoke billowing into the sky.

These so-called “Ukrainites” do not deserve anyone’s sympathy anymore. They are impudent. They are fighting for the right to slaughter people in the Donbass and to put NATO nukes on Russia’s border. There is no honor or dignity in either of those things. They deserve whatever they get.
