A lot of people whined at the time, and shockingly the whining actually worked for once

If the dumbass liked his job so much, he should’ve just put on a wig and said he’s a woman, and that would’ve solved everything.

Alternately, if it actually didn’t solve everything, he could’ve been suing them now for more money.

LBC:

Jason Grant, a former tobacco salesman turned personal trainer, is taking legal action against four public bodies in Scotland after claiming he was unlawfully fired from his role as “period tsar” because of his sex.

Mr Grant was hired as Scotland’s first “period dignity officer” in August 2022 but soon after he and the group that hired him faced serious backlash from women who felt appointing a man to such a role was “ridiculous”.

Councils in the Tay region were quickly accused of “institutionalised mansplaining” for appointing Mr Grant to the £36,000 a year role.

As “period dignity officer” Mr Grant would have had to explain sanitary products and periods to teenage girls, as well as promote access to free period products.

“… and then straight into your cunt.”

But after being abruptly fired from the position, Mr Grant has now successfully argued he should be able to take legal action against Dundee & Angus College, Perth College, Angus Council, and Dundee City Council, all of which were part of the body that hired him.

Dundee & Angus College tried to argue that it held sole responsibility but that has been rejected by an employment tribunal.

Ryan Russell of MML Law, the firm which represents Mr Grant, said: “They granted our amendment which now puts all of them in the frame.

“We are now pursuing all four of them plus the partnership.”

The role itself was scrapped by the Tayside Period Dignity Working Group which originally claimed Mr Grant was the “strongest candidate” for the position.

But the group said they faced “threats and abuse” as a result of the appointment.

A lengthy hearing is set to determine whether his dismissal was a breach of the Equality Act, which is expected to include evidence which suggests Mr Grant was excluded from meetings before his role was scrapped.

Martina Navratilova, the former tennis star, was among those to speak out against his appointment to the role, as she labelled it “f*****g ridiculous”.

She also said: “Have we ever tried to explain to men how to shave or how to take care of their prostate or whatever? This is absurd.”

Author Susan Dalgety also hit out at the decision, as she said: “Wonder if he’s ever experienced the horror of a blood stained dress in public, or the gut-wrenching fear of a missed period? No, didn’t think so.

“It’s about making ‘anyone of any gender’ aware of period products, he says. Jason, I have news for you, only females menstruate. Any more questions? PMS? Endometriosis?

“I don’t disagree that boys should be taught more about menstruation, but appointing a bloke as the first period dignity officer is institutionalised mansplaining.”

Why exactly should boys be taught about menstruation?

What benefit would anyone get from that?

How about making people less poor?

Scotland: Government Appoints Man as Country’s First “Period Dignity Officer” https://www.anglinarchive.com/2022/08/20/scotland-government-appoints-man-as-countrys-first-period-dignity-officer/ Sat, 20 Aug 2022 00:00:00 +0000

I’ve been a long time supporter of period dignity, and tried to become the top Period Dignity Officer in my local Period Dignity Working Group. I was rejected for having a penis. People come up to me every day and say “I would vote for you as the top Period Dignity Officer if you didn’t have a penis.

It’s not right and it’s not fair and I’m glad that men are finally getting positions in the Period Dignity Industry.

Euronews:

The appointment of a man as Scotland’s first “period dignity officer” has sparked outrage, with critics calling the news “absurd”.

Jason Grant was announced as the period dignity officer for the Tay region in a role believed to be the first of its kind, after Scotland became the first country in the world to protect the right to free period products in law.

But his appointment has sparked a backlash, with critics saying the job should have gone to a woman instead.

Tennis star Martina Navratilova called the news “ridiculous,” writing in a tweet: “Have we ever tried to explain to men how to shave or how to take care of their prostate or whatever?!? This is absurd”.

Susan Dalgety, a columnist for The Scotsman newspaper, told Sky News the appointment “takes mansplaining to a new level”.

“Jason has said being a man will help him reduce stigma and that it is time to normalise topics like menstruation and menopause,” she told the broadcaster.

“Periods are normal life for women, we don’t need some bloke in a blood red polo-shirt raising our awareness”.

…

The Period Dignity Working group, which has representatives of Dundee and Angus College, Angus Council, Dundee City Council, and Perth College, said Grant was the strongest candidate for the job.

“The role builds on some fantastic work which has been gathering speed across the Tay region for several years, led by a passionate group of people of all genders, ages and backgrounds,” a spokesperson said.

“With all partners in the working group Equal Opportunities Employers, Jason was the strongest candidate”.

“By changing the culture, encouraging debate and removing the stigma around periods, we look forward to supporting the delivery of this important work across the region,” the spokesperson added.

At the time of his appointment, Grant said that he wanted to prove that period dignity and related issues were not just a “female topic”.

“I think being a man will help me to break down barriers, reduce stigma and encourage more open discussions,” he said in a statement announcing his appointment. “Although affecting women directly, periods are an issue for everyone”.

“We’ll also raise awareness of the menopause, which, although a natural process for women, has wider repercussions in the world of work and family,” he added.

“It’s time to normalise these topics and get real around the subject. I believe I can make progress by proving this isn’t just a female topic, encouraging conversations across all genders and educating and engaging new audiences”.

Frankly, men know a lot more about dignity than women, and I’m sure there is a lot that men are able to offer in the realm of period dignity.
