Toyota is back on top.

The Japanese company has reclaimed its place as the world’s best-selling automaker, with its latest results showing an edge over Volkswagen Group (VLKAF).

Toyota (TM) sold 9.5 million vehicles around the world in 2020, according to figures released on Thursday that include its Daihatsu and Hino lineups. That’s compared with the 9.3 million units delivered last year by Volkswagen, which owns brands including Audi, Skoda and Porsche.

Big carmakers have tussled over the global crown for years. In 2013, Toyota became top dog as it overtook General Motors (GM) in sales. Two years later, Volkswagen gained on the Japanese company, though the top of the rankings remained unchanged.

In 2017, the German firm officially unseated Toyota.

I actually had no idea VW was ever number one. I would have just assumed that because of the size of the Asian market, Toyota was number one. VW is weird midrange car, where it’s like, either spend less and get the Toyota/Honda, or spend more and get the Mercedes/BMW.

What’s sad is that American cars are out of the running and now globally known as the lowest quality vehicles. That’s embarrassing.

Under Rim Cook’s leadership, Apple is going to hell, to the point where there isn’t going to be any single American company that produces anything that is considered high-quality.

I’m kinda disappointed it doesn’t come with robotic arms for sandwich-making (the other thing women are good for), but those are probably gonna happen soon enough.

But it’s also announced on Twitter that it will be taking orders in its physical stores. Given the limited quantities that are sure to be available, however, you still may not have any luck that way. Several stores we checked with were unsure of how many units they would receive and, as a result, said they were not yet taking pre-orders.

Who even needs these stupid things? I was playing emulated SNES games on my PC like, 20 years ago (only with cartridges that I owned, of course…).

These days, you can play SNES games on your phone, tablet, Android TV, laptop, Wii, Raspberry Pi, and probably a million other platforms.

They even sell usb SNES controllers you can plug into… everything.

By the way, many of those reading are probably too young to have played SNES games, so I should mention that you definitely should.

Some of those games were freaking amazing. And the graphics have aged much better than the early 3D games, which look like crap today.

But to think these Japs are conspiring to try and make you wait in line for days in order to get one of these rare SNES minis, smdh.

“#DontNormalizeHate,” a nearly three-minute public service announcement produced by singer Katy Perry, draws parallels between the incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans during World War II and the anti-Muslim rhetoric of not only President-elect Donald Trump, but also of his advisers and picks for Cabinet members.

Are we supposed to feel guilty, here?

I’d like these people to try and explain why it was wrong to put Japs in camps during World War 2.

I mean, doesn’t it makes basic common sense to contain all the potentially subversive or rebellious people in your population when you’re in a war?

And aren’t people who ethnically belong to the enemy nation potentially rebellious and subversive? German-american activist organizations were also shut down during the war, after all.

The PSA’s directors, Los Angeles-based filmmakers Aya Tanimura and Tim Nackashi, said they wanted to show what they believe are eerie similarities between Japanese internment camps and anti-Muslim statements that Trump has made.

Trump had proposed a “total and complete shutdown” of Muslims entering the United States. After that plan was criticized by Republicans and Democrats, Trump’s campaign amended it, saying immigration should be suspended from countries “compromised by terrorism.”

He knows what’s up.

Trump has made only vague statements to the media about the possibility of creating a database of Muslims in the United States. Those statements also don’t draw a distinction between a database of all Muslims in the country and one tabulating only Muslim immigrants.

Honestly, I think it’s pretty likely this database already exists unofficially. It would be hard to imagine that no intelligence service has compiled this list already from existing government data and basic social media analysis.

Making the list official, though, would be huge, from a political standpoint.

Coming soon to an America near you.

It would isolate the Moslems from the rest of the population, and basically designate them as an “official” enemy group, or at least “suspect minority.” It would create a huge amount of psychological pressure on these people, and be very freeing for White Americans.

After all, if one non-White group is officially “suspect,” why not others?

The fact that these liberals and Jews are flipping out about this seemingly minor bureaucratic tool means they understand, instinctively, that it would be a major blow against their agenda.

A woman who has downplayed Japan’s wartime actions and is known to have far-right views was named defense minister in a Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, a move that could unsettle relations with Asian neighbors with bitter memories of World War II-era atrocities.

Tomomi Inada, a former reform minister who most recently held one of the top posts in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, replaced Gen Nakatani as defense minister. She’s the second female to fill the post.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe changed more than half of the 19-member Cabinet in a bid to support his economic and security policies, as well as his push for a revision of Japan’s postwar constitution.

A lawyer-turned-lawmaker, Inada is one of Abe’s favorites. She is a regular at Tokyo’s Yasukuni Shrine, which honors war dead including convicted war criminals, a gesture seen by neighbors as an endorsement of Japan’s militaristic past.

She also has made remarks defending Japan’s wartime atrocities, including forcing many Asian women into sexual servitude in military-run brothels, and has led a party committee to re-evaluate the judgment of war tribunal by the Allies.

Her link to a notorious anti-Korea group was acknowledged by a court this year in a defamation case she lost. Inada also was seen posing with the leader of a neo-Nazi group in a 2011 photo that surfaced in the media in 2014.

Inada, 57, is a supporter of Abe’s long-cherished hope to revise Japan’s postwar constitution. She has said parts of the war-renouncing Article 9 should be scrapped, arguing that they could be interpreted as banning the Self-Defense Forces.
