Mass looting is taking place in KwaZulu-Natal province, in particular, home of former South African president Jacob Zuma, 79, who is facing corruption charges and has been sent to prison for contempt of court after refusing to attend an inquiry into “state capture” when he held office.

Riots and looting, reportedly initiated by supporters of Zuma, who is appealing his sentence, are particularly pronounced in Durban, Pietermaritzburg, North Coast, South Coast, and Inland areas of KwaZulu-Natal, according to local reports, with the police also requiring military support in Gauteng province.

A prison break was also attempted in KwaZulu-Nata, with fires being lit at the Umzinto Correctional Centre and one inmate reported dead in the resulting fracas:

While a full picture of what is going on in the post-apartheid state is still emerging, the aforementioned prison inmate is not the only reported fatality.

Abdi Ismaeel, a spokesman for the Somali community in Durban, has claimed that at least three Somalis have been killed since Monday.

A mosque has also been set on fire in Mayville Durban.

“They were not fighting, they were running for their lives. They were innocent people. We don’t know how they died,” Ismaeel said, alleging that there are “no police” — and indeed that “Police are themselves are targets. You call police they can’t come.”

Yesterday during the looting, there was a touching scene of a toddler being thrown off a roof into the hands of a crowd. It’s not clear if the toddler had been looted, or if the toddler was taking part in the looting but got tired and needed sleepy time.

However, their president’s resignation has nothing to do with that. He’s resigning because he’s just a typical incompetent black person, who has been driving the country into ruin.

In an address to the nation late on Wednesday evening, President Jacob Zuma announced his resignation.

“I have … come to the decision to resign as the president of the Republic with immediate effect,” he said.

According to the Constitution, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa now acts as president until parliament convenes to elect a new president.

Zuma’s address comes after the the ANC moved to remove him from office by a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday should he did not accede to the party’s edict for him to resign by the end of the day.

Zuma’s resignation marks the end of a tense standoff between him and the party’s newly elected leadership.

As the impasse between Zuma and the party deepened over the last week, some allies of Zuma turned on him, publicly calling on him to step down.

“This decision of President Zuma is consistent with what we said earlier today: that he has never and will never defy his organisation,” said ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte immediately after the announcement.

“While we acknowledge mistakes that may have been committed,” Duarte lauded president Zuma for the many successes of his government.

Among those noted included South Africa’s rollout of antiretrovirals, the rollout of national health insurance and expanded access to basic and higher education.

She called on all ANC MP’s to rally behind the party’s candidate for president, Cyril Ramaphosa, when voting takes place in the national assembly.

“We believe that the president will do what is right and accede to the decision of the NEC,” ANC Youth League leader and staunch Zuma backer Collen Maine told the SABC shortly before the president was to address the nation.

Earlier on Wednesday, Zuma speaking during an interview on SABC, insisted he had done nothing to merit the party’s decision to recall him from office, claiming as well that he was being unfairly targeted.

Here’s a fun factoid: there weren’t any black people living in the area when the colony that became South Africa was established. They all showed up to feed off of white people. Then along came the Jews to tell them that they were being oppressed by the white people that they chased down to feed off of.

That is pretty much the entire story of the interactions between the colored races and whites. Other than African slaves, all of these people came to find us – not the other way around.

All of the Jews, Moslems, Mexicans, etc. in America complaining about “racism” and making all of these demands are people who hunted us down to feed off of our productivity. We allowed them to do it, and now they think we owe them something.

South Africa’s parliament is debating a vote of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma amid growing calls for him to resign.

An anti-corruption probe last week raised allegations of misconduct against Mr Zuma.

But the ruling African National Congress (ANC) has said the motion “has no chance of succeeding”.

This is the third time in less a year the president is facing a no confidence vote.

An investigation by the country’s anti-corruption watchdog said a judicial inquiry should be set up to further investigate allegations of criminal activity in Mr Zuma’s government.

The investigation found evidence that the Guptas, a business family with links to Mr Zuma, may have wielded undue political influence over the appointment of ministers.

Both Mr Zuma and the Guptas have denied any wrongdoing.

There have been a number of recent attempts by opposition parties to have Mr Zuma removed from the highest office – from protests to votes in parliament – but all have failed.

Several ANC stalwarts and members of Mr Zuma’s government have called on him to resign following the release of a report by former public protector Thuli Mandosela into allegations of corrupt relations between his loyalists and the wealthy Gupta family.

But why does he continue to survive? Simply, the people who want him to go do not have the numbers to push him out of parliament.

That translates to “there aren’t enough White people to make this thriving multiracial democracy work.”

The African National Congress (ANC) president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, faces a “hate speech” criminal prosecution for his speech to his party’s congress last month in which he accused white people of being thieves.

According to a press release issued by the TAU-SA, one of South Africa’s largest commercial farming unions (and formerly called the Transvaal Agricultural Union), Zuma has been issued a formal lawyer’s letter pointing out that his speech breached section 10(1) of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act, Nr 4 of 2000.

That section makes it a criminal offence to “publish, propagate, advocate or communicate words based on one or more of the prohibited grounds, against any person, that could reasonably be construed to demonstrate a clear intention to-(a) be hurtful; (b) be harmful or to incite harm; (c) promote or propagate hatred.”

The TAU-SA alleges that Zuma has deliberately incited hatred against whites with his comment during his speech, quoted as “Comrades‚ the challenges of poverty‚ inequality and unemployment have their roots in the vast tracks of land that was stolen from the indigenous people of South Africa.”

The TAU-SA’s legal complaint says that this is obviously directed against white people, and is not only factually incorrect, but also deliberately aimed at stirring up hatred against whites.

The full letter reads as follows:

DEAR SIR,

RE: TAU-SA / YOURSELF & THE ANC

1 We act on behalf of the TAU-SA representing the interests of farmers.

2 We refer to your speech delivered at the National Executive Committee on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the African National Congress on 8 January 2016.

3 Notwithstanding the written prepared speech, you deviated therefrom and made the following statement which is of grave concern to our client: ‘Comrades, the challenges of poverty, inequality and the unemployment have their roots in the vast tracks of land that was stolen from the indigenous people of South Africa.’

4 Allegations about land that had been stolen in South Africa, together with other allegations which you have made referring to Jan van Riebeeck, and similar statements, have led our client to believe that yourself and the ANC are intent upon discriminating against whites, and in particular white land owners.

5 This also appears from a further statement you had made namely: ‘South Africa’s history of apartheid and colonialism characterised by racial hierarchy and systematic institutionalised conquest and dispossession of the indigenous people of this country, is directly related to our current challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality.’

6 We do not deny the effect that colonialism and apartheid has had on South African society. However, our client has a serious problem with the allegation that vast tracks of land in South Africa were stolen from the indigenous people of South Africa.

7 That is factually and historically simply incorrect. Firstly, all the current land owners of land in South Africa have not stolen such land, but have lawfully purchased the land that they own. That has been the case in respect of most of the land in South Africa for at least a century.

8 The allegations that were made by you and the ANC are made with the intent and innuendo to convey that:

8.1 white people who own land are thieves;

8.2 the whites who came to South Africa were thieves, criminals and robbers;

8.3 whites in South Africa stole land without remuneration or agreement;

8.4 all black tribes were indigenous to South Africa when whites arrived in 1652.

9 We have instructions to request from yourself and the ANC an unconditional apology to all land owners in South Africa, and to white land owners in general, for the hurtful, harmful and hatred infused statement you have made.

10 We advised our client that the statement was made with a clear intention to be hurtful, to be harmful, to incite harm and to promote or propagate hatred against white land owners.

11 This constitutes hate speech in terms of section 10(1) of the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act, Nr 4 of 2000.

12 Should yourself and the ANC not be prepared to furnish an apology, our client will have no alternative but to take the matter to the Equality Court for the necessary relief.

Over the summer conflict in Gaza, a spike in anti-Semitism alarmed the leader of South Africa and the SAJBD, and President Zuma became committed to combatting the racism that was occurring throughout South Africa.

“In the course of the meeting, President Zuma rejected unequivocally all forms of anti-Semitism and intolerance, and stressed that his government remained committed to combating such prejudice,” the board said.

Zev Krengel, president of the SAJBD, said, “It showed a real commitment to the South African Jewish community, and we were impressed by his commitment in not only engaging in South Africa but also his engagement on Israel.”

South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Emily Nkoana-Mashabane, and the Minister in the Presidency, Jeffrey Radebe, accompanied President Zuma at the meeting. Krengel along with the National Chairman of the SAJBD Mary Kluk represented the SAJBD side. The meeting included the South African Zionist Federation with representatives Jonathan Silke and Ben Swartz.

Speaking in his native Zulu language at a pre-election rally in the country’s rural north, he told a crowd of his voodoo past.

‘I used to practise witchcraft around here, bewitching the Boers during apartheid’, Zuma reportedly said.

President Zuma spoke in the village of KaNyamazane, in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province on Wednesday.

He promised the crowd that if his African National Congress (ANC) party was re-elected into power with over 90 per cent of the popular vote, he would come back to the village to slaughter cows in celebration.

‘When the elections are over, I’m coming again. If you give us 90 per cent upwards during the elections, we are coming here to slaughter cows. Less than 90 per cent, I don’t come.’

Zuma also told the crowd that the ANC would continue to run South Africa ‘for ever’.

‘We will continue to run this government forever and ever. Whether they (detractors) like it or not!’ Zuma said.
