The NASA guy, Steve Stich, still hopes Boeing can get those astronauts back. But “We don’t have a major announcement today relative to a return date,” said Steve Stich, the program manager for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. (They’ve been up 50 days on an 8-day mission.) pic.twitter.com/zvTZXc8a2f

It’s strange that “trapped astronauts” is not a bigger story, no?

I guess they’re fine. But they will not be fine indefinitely.

The Guardian:

Two Nasa astronauts on Boeing’s Starliner capsule will remain at the International Space Station with no official return date yet, Nasa and Boeing officials said on Thursday morning, as engineers continue to examine the technical problems with the spacecraft.

Test pilots Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams first departed for the station roughly seven weeks ago, in early June, on a test mission that was meant to last about a week. But the capsule’s undocking was delayed because of faulty thrusters and small helium leaks that raised safety concerns.

…

On Thursday, Nasa and Boeing officials said they were not ready to announce a return date, and that the pilots would remain at the space station until the engineers finish working on and examining the issues with the capsule.

“We’ll come home when we’re ready,” Steve Stich, Nasa’s commercial crew program manager said in the press conference, according to the Associated Press. He also acknowledged that backup options are under review, including using other capsules to get the astronauts home safely, which he said was a top priority.

So is part of the situation here that they don’t want to ask Russia to help?

Russia would help.

That would be the worst optics ever, to have the US unable to get their own people back because their technology is so shit that they’re forced to ask the Russians for help.

The optics are already terrible, however, and just ending the problem might be better than whatever is happening now.

What exactly is happening now?

This was the first use of this Boeing pod, the Starliner, which was announced in 2010 and ended up going $1.5 billion over-budget during delays. Apparently it was just… built badly.

It’s sort of ridiculous that it would not have been tested, unmanned. These are engineering failures. The thing was never going to work. “Faulty thrusters” is not a minor problem. Thrusters are a core component of the machine.

I don’t think anyone cares if that Indian woman dies in space.

Probably, some people are thinking that was the plan – get that bitch off the earth.

The Guardian:

Two Nasa astronauts from Boeing’s troubled Starliner capsule might have to remain in space until the middle of August as engineers continue to work through technical problems that prevented their return in June.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been aboard the international space station (ISS) since 6 June after the first crewed docking of the next-generation spacecraft. The test mission was scheduled to last about a week, but Starliner’s undocking was delayed several times as faulty thrusters and then a series of small helium leaks raised safety concerns.

On Wednesday, Nasa announced that it was still performing tests to ensure the capsule would perform as expected, and although the space agency was confident the craft would be safe for an emergency evacuation, mission managers were not yet ready to schedule its departure.

“Some of the data suggests optimistically, maybe it’s by the end of July, but we’ll just follow the data each step at a time,” Steve Stich, Nasa’s commercial crew program manager, said at a lunchtime press conference.

Mark Nappi, vice-president and program manager of Boeing’s commercial crew program, told reporters that he was confident the Starliner program would emerge stronger because of the issues.

“All this information is going to go in a big bucket, and all the engineers are going to review it and try to see if it doesn’t point to root cause or point to some additional testing that we can do in the future to eliminate this problem once and for all,” he said.

Although Boeing’s space operations are separate from its aviation wing, the ongoing problems with Starliner have added to the company’s recent public relations crisis, sparked by the crash of two 737 Max airliners and a number of other safety related incidents.

Despite being years behind schedule and more than $1.5bn over budget when it launched from Florida on 5 June, Starliner was intended to restore some of the company’s lost luster and offer Nasa a second private commercial crew alternative for the transportation of astronauts in lower earth orbit to SpaceX’s Dragon capsule.

This isn’t that big of a disaster for Boeing.

No one knows about space ships and they don’t care about them.

I can’t think of anything I care about less than spaceships.

Boeing’s big trouble is going to come when one of their commercial jets crashes and hundreds of people die.

They never should have hired all those women and black people.

The Guardian:

Boeing’s public relations crisis is now out of this world: the company’s Starliner spacecraft – with two astronauts onboard – are currently stuck in space.

After what started as an eight-day mission, US astronauts Sunita “Suni” Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore have now spent the better part of a month on their space capsule attached to the International Space Station as engineers work out the problems with Starliner.

The 8 day mission that lasted a month reminds me of Gilligan’s Island.

“A three hour tour…”

It remains unclear when exactly the astronauts will be able to make their return to Earth. A Boeing spokesperson told the Guardian they have “adjusted the return of Starliner Crew Flight Test until after two planned spacewalks on Monday, June 24, and Tuesday, July 2” and that they “currently do not have a date for the return, and will evaluate opportunities after the spacewalks”.

The spokesperson also noted “the crew is not pressed for time to leave the station since there are plenty of supplies in orbit, and the station’s schedule is relatively open through mid-August”.

The Starliner blasted into space on 5 June from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station after two previously unsuccessful launches on 6 May and 1 June respectively.

A year behind schedule and $1.5bn over budget, this particular Nasa-Boeing mission had problems long before its official launch, including issues with reaction control thrusters and helium leaks.

Yeah, again.

These people knew the risks.

The Indian woman probably scewed something up.

Would you take a woman into space with you?

They media is probably going to blame the Russians.

What sort of retard goes into outer space?

Don’t they know there is nothing up there? That’s why they call it “space.” It’s just blank space.

New York Post:

Boeing, we have a problem.

The return trip to Earth for two NASA astronauts who rode to orbit on the trouble-plagued company’s Starliner has been delayed for a third time as of Saturday — with Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams cooling their heels at the International Space Station (ISS) while engineers on the ground race against time to fix numerous issues with the spacecraft.

They have a reported 45-day window to bring them back, according to officials.

The return module of the Starliner spacecraft is docked to the ISS’s Harmony module, but Harmony has limited fuel leaving the window for a safe return flight increasingly narrow, officials said.

But because of problems that include five helium leaks on the Starliner, they’re still up there.

The issues with the Starliner included five thrusters that abruptly stopped working during flight and a series of helium leaks, CNN reported.

Retarded as these retards may be for going on a trip to space – the most boring place – they shouldn’t have to just die up there.

But if they didn’t want to die, I guess they probably should have hired someone other than Boeing to build their space ship.

Boeing is the company you hire when you want to die.

Was it really a drill?

Or is there an alien infestation on the ISS?

Reuters:

NASA accidentally broadcast a simulation of astronauts being treated for decompression sickness on the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday, prompting speculation of an emergency in posts on social media.

About 5:28 p.m. U.S. Central Time (2228 GMT), The National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) live YouTube channel broadcast audio that indicated a crew member was experiencing the effects of decompression sickness (DCS), NASA said on its official ISS X account.

A female voice asks crew members to “get commander back in his suit”, check his pulse and provide him with oxygen, later saying his prognosis was “tenuous”, according to copies of the audio posted on social media. NASA did not verify the recordings or republish the audio.

Several space enthusiasts posted a link to the audio on X with warnings that there was a serious emergency on the ISS.

“This audio was inadvertently misrouted from an ongoing simulation where crew members and ground teams train for various scenarios in space and is not related to a real emergency,” the ISS account post said.

Here are the tapes.

I’ve watched a lot of videos saying the ISS is fake.

I tend to side with the people saying it’s real. Though the people who say it’s fake are pretty awesome dudes.

Asian women are better than Western women by almost any metric you use.

But they’re still just as dumb.

Sora News 24:

International romance scams are a growing problem around the world. This is when a fraudster assumes the identity of an eligible bachelor or bachelorette on social media and prays on people’s sense of loneliness to drain them of money by asking for money for transportation costs to meet, deal with medical emergencies, or any other fantastical reason.

And they don’t get much more fantastical than a case that occurred in Shiga Prefecture earlier this year. According to Shiga Prefectural Police, on 28 June a 65-year-old resident of Higashiomi City met a man on social media who claimed to be a foreign national working on the International Space Station.

The woman then got into deeper communication with the man over the messaging app Line and he began telling her things such as “I want to move to Japan and start a new life,” “Even if I say it 1,000 times it won’t be enough, but I’ll keep saying it: I love you,” and eventually “Will you marry me when I come to Japan?”

Then, sometime around August, the man requested money to return to Earth. According to his story, life on the ISS is a pay-your-own-way deal and he needed to cover the cost of a rocket back and the landing fees.

Complying with his request, the woman made five bank transfers over five days, totaling about 4.4 million yen (US$30,000) to cover her lover’s return flight to Earth. However, when he continued to ask for money, she grew suspicious and eventually filed a police report.

This reminds me of that fat old bitch who thought Vin Diesel was trying to marry her, so she sent him 5000 pounds.

You might thing women’s stupidity is funny – and you’d be right.

But it is also dangerous to have creatures so dumb involved in public society. We have to get them out of the public, and back into the darkness of the kitchen.

At least she can still do this

The ayy lmaos are coming.

Any day now.

Just wait and see.

Daily Star:

A “triangular craft” recorded by the International Space Station live feed “hovering” over Earth has lead viewers to ask if its a US Space Force ship.

The United States Space Force is a proposed space warfare service branch of the US Armed Forces, which is intended to have control over military space operations.

And a newly emerged clip has conspiracists believing the force may have already been implemented.

YouTube conspiracist MrMBB333 uploaded the video over the weekend showing the unidentified craft hovering near to the ISS cameras.

He said after analysing the object and modifying the contrast he was left surprised at his findings.

That’s nothing. My sources have provided actual high-quality pictures of the object, where you can clearly appreciate that this is definitely not related to the United States Space Force.

Check this out:

This is a full-on invasion.

You thought Jews were bad? Try resisting an orbital bombardment from these ships.

It’s time to Leave Our Differences Behind and Embrace Diversity, join forces and fight against the planetary threat of Climate Change Imperial Star Destroyer UFOs.

We have to do this for the Greater Good.

Queen Greta Thunberg, Protector of the Weather, and her council of Wise Jews will lead us to victory.

The bizarre object was spotted by keen watcher Scott M last week who said he had never seen anything like it before, despite regularly tuning in to the feed.

In the clip, the conspiracist said: “This is not a reflection, in fact, this object over here as you’ll see reflects light itself.

“It seems to be some sort of large triangular craft.”

The man claimed the object sped up before “disappearing” in the live feed.

“You’ll see when I zoom in and put it in slow motion, you’re going to see light reflecting off it and it glistens,” he added.

Not only does the “object” reflect light itself, it will soon start shooting light itself unless all of us adopt a vegan diet and buy a Tesla.

We’re not ready to handle that level of pew-pew-pewing, but we’re ready to rally behind the banners of Greta the Great.

She’ll know what to do. Kids always do.

India Just Shat Up Earth’s Orbit With Satellite Debris https://www.anglinarchive.com/2019/04/03/india-just-shat-up-earths-orbit-with-satellite-debris/ Wed, 03 Apr 2019 00:00:00 +0000 Roy Batty

The superpooperpower recently fired a rocket into space and knocked down a satellite.

This resulted in lots of orbital debris.

The Guardian:

India’s destruction of one of its satellites has been labelled a “terrible thing” by the head of Nasa, who said the missile test created 400 pieces of orbital debris and posed a threat to astronauts onboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Jim Bridenstine was addressing employees five days after India shot down a low-orbiting satellite in a missile launch that it says elevated the country to the elite tier of space powers.

The satellite shattered into pieces, many of which are dangerously large but too small to track, Bridenstine said. “What we are tracking right now, objects big enough to track – we’re talking about 10cm (six inches) or bigger – about 60 pieces have been tracked.”

This is what happens when you give lesser people access to White people tech.

They completely shit it up and ruin things for everyone.

The Indian satellite was destroyed at a relatively low altitude of 180 miles (300km), well below the ISS and most satellites in orbit.

But 24 of the pieces were going above the ISS, said Bridenstine. “That is a terrible, terrible thing to create an event that sends debris at an apogee that goes above the International Space Station,” he said, adding: “That kind of activity is not compatible with the future of human spaceflight.”

“It’s unacceptable and Nasa needs to be very clear about what its impact to us is.”

Debris is no joke.

You could end up with something like that scene in Gravity.

All of that space junk is going to have to be cleaned up eventually.

So I hope the world has learned its lesson: brown people should not be allowed to have modern technology.

Satellites? They blow them up in space.

Smartphones? They use them to procure bobs and vagene.

They can’t even operate vehicles responsibly. They’re terrible drivers and they’re constantly crashing all over the place.

And don’t even get me started on the street shitting.

I don’t think that it’s worth even pointing out anymore. You don’t have to go to India to know this. They’ve started shitting up North America as well.

It was only a matter of time before they reached space and shat it up as well.

I told you people: it’s all happening.

Now we’ve got solar flares.

RT:

The International Space Station (ISS) crew had to hide in a special shelter during a massive solar flare, a nuclear scientist said. The sun produced several huge solar flares last week, one of which was the strongest observed in a decade.

“Yesterday [on Sunday], the cosmonauts on the ISS received an ‘alert’ signal, and they had to seek a temporary shelter at the station,” Mikhail Panasyuk, the head of Skobeltsyn Institute Of Nuclear Physics in Moscow, said at a press conference.

On Sunday, a solar flare was reported by scientists across the globe. Called X8.2, it “produced a rapid increase in relativistic proton levels,”  according to NASA.

The increase in proton activity coincided with a time at which the ISS was nearer the sun, according to Panasyuk. The proton stream was higher than that of the powerful solar flare that took place on September 7, he said.

“A powerful proton stream can break through ISS shell,” he added.

Solar flares are huge bursts of radiation released by the sun. The Earth’s atmosphere protects us from the worst effects of the resulting radiation storms, but if the flare is big enough, it can disrupt GPS satellites, certain radio frequencies and other global communications temporarily.

Earlier in September, the sun shot out at least six solar flares, according to NASA data. Global communications and some GPS systems were temporarily affected on the side of the Earth facing the sun at that time.

One of the flares was an X9.3, over four times as powerful as the first and largest solar flare in the current 11-year solar cycle that began in December 2008, according to NASA.

X-class solar flares are the largest explosions that take place within our solar system, shooting out jets of plasma that can reach up to 10 times the size of the Earth in length.

But these gigantic solar flares allegedly have nothing to do with the weather on earth.

Somehow, they have no relationship.

No no.

The weather on earth is because we didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton.
