Another big failure from another Apple product.

Everyone is shocked that this company can’t do anything but exploit a phone monopoly and use it to price-gouge people.

I don’t know why they’re shocked or why they would have though the faggot Rim Cook would be able to innovate anything.

Seriously though, at this point in the game, the fact that these people can’t get an AI news summarizer to work is actually incredible.

The Guardian:

Apple is suspending an artificial intelligence feature that made inaccurate summaries of news headlines.

The tech company received a complaint from the BBC after the AI-generated service issued a news alert branded with the corporation’s logo falsely telling some iPhone users that Luigi Mangione, who is accused of killing the UnitedHealthcare chief executive, Brian Thompson, had shot himself.

Other false notices that carried the BBC logo included one claiming Luke Littler had won the PDC World Darts final before playing in it and another that the tennis player Rafael Nadal had “come out” as gay.

Apple said in a statement that the feature would be suspended as part of its next software update, due imminently. Other news organisations were affected by the errors, with a summary of New York Times alerts wrongly claiming that Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had been arrested.

How do you say Luigi shot himself in prison? Like, if it had picked up someone else killing himself in prison and gotten confused, you could at least understand it, but no one can shoot himself in prison because you are not allowed to have guns in prison.

All the AI has to do is summarize headlines. It shouldn’t ever get confused and mix things together.

If they had just installed vanilla Llama, it would have done much better than this. Basically, any AI can do this job. I think even Grok could manage.

Pathetic.

Apple is eventually going to collapse.

Anyone who has used the latest generation of Xiaomi’s flagship is aware that the only thing keeping Apple in the game at all at this juncture is the fact that China’s products are tariffed (and basically banned outright). Xiaomi and Huawei are both better than iPhone. They do not feel like Android at all, but instead like iPhones felt several years ago. iPhone now feels like garbage to use. It is not a good experience at all.

Both Apple and Tesla would collapse virtually immediately if the US actually upheld the “rules-based order” values it used to destroy American industry and allowed for the free flow of goods.

I never supported moving all of those jobs to China, which was completely insane. But they did it and gutted the American working class. It’s done. But now they’re going in and saying you can’t have jobs or the benefits of the global free market. You got double screwed.

Everywhere the Chinese are allowed to compete, they destroy the US.

Of the top 5 computer games on the biggest platform right now, two are Chinese, one is Korean, and the other two are American but they’re made by Valve, which is the one tech company that has actually maintained an American ethos.

I talk about this video game issue when talking about China a lot, because it is the only major industry in which they are even allowed to compete with American companies. The Americans block appliance and everything else, because they simply cannot compete.

It really gives the lie to the claim by Elon Musk that we have to import billions of Indians in order to “compete with China,” because we already don’t compete with China. The US has created a kind of iron curtain. They also ban Europe from importing most Chinese products.

It’s not because the American people are not capable, it is because everything is completely corrupt and depraved. Most of these companies are run by bumbling Indian sewer scum, and it’s the law in America that everything has to be gay.

It’s very sad to see Apple, which was once one of the great American companies, because nothing but a big swindle that makes all of its profits by nickel and dimeing people. If they would actually hire Americans, they could be designing great things. But they just want to hire Indians to come up with new ways to rip people off.

iPhone 16 Comes With “Bold New Palette” of Faggotism, Stupid Gimmick “AI” Features https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/09/10/iphone-16-comes-with-bold-new-palette-of-faggotism-stupid-gimmick-ai-features/ Tue, 10 Sep 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Welcome to the new era of iPhone!

Built for Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 16 lineup delivers a powerful, personal, and private experience right at your fingertips. And with the new Camera Control, you’ll never miss a moment. pic.twitter.com/zBsx9xOBl1

— Tim Cook (@tim_cook) September 9, 2024

Apple is a complete disaster. Like Tesla, it is now only operating because of tariffs on China.

No one can use the iPhone 15 and use the flagship of Xiaomi or Huawei and conclude the iPhone is better. It is simply not better. And the Chinese flagships that are the competitors to the iPhone are around half the price of an iPhone.

Exporting the manufacturing of American goods undermined American ingenuity. Henry Ford went out into the factory where his cars were made every day. Innovation is tied to manufacturing, fundamentally. Separating design from manufacturing was stupid and ridiculous.

Furthermore, Apple and Tesla and the rest of the “American” companies are now de facto Indian companies, and Chinese people are simply smarter and more competent than Indians. White people could compete with the Chinese, but there aren’t hardly anymore white people in Silicon Valley. It’s all just Indians.

American tech companies want to save money by hiring Indians, then they lobby the government to block Chinese imports because their Indians can’t compete with the Chinese.

The Chinese Android forks are now just as clean as iOS. Seriously. Get ahold of a Xiaomi or Huawei phone and compare it to the iPhone. The Chinese phones are simply better, just like BYD is better than Tesla and Black Myth: Wukong is better than Star Wars: Outlaws. This is just the reality.

The West has fallen.

Apple is a dying company and all of the tech innovation is now in China.

The whole county has rotted from the inside out.

The Guardian:

Apple sought to pitch the latest generation of iPhones as machines built around artificial intelligence as its biggest product event of the year, as the tech giant seeks a dominant position in the aggressive race around the technology.

The company claimed iPhone 16, the smartphone’s new model, had been designed “from the ground up” for its “Apple Intelligence” range of AI features, which include the ability to generate and edit text to fit certain tones, as well as use the device’s camera to recognize real-world objects.

Who gives a shit? No one asked for dumb gimmicks.

Why didn’t Apple finish their car?

Why is their entire business model now just total gimmick-mongering?

Has the West fallen (it has, yes).

The event – held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California – featured the tagline “It’s glowtime”, with the company’s logo surrounded by a colorful aura. Through a series of high-production videos, the company’s executives advertised a range of new hardware, and tried to highlight the ways Apple was integrating AI into its products.

“We are thrilled to introduce the first iPhones designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence, and its breakthrough capabilities,” Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, said in a prerecorded video during the event.

Shut up, faggot.

No one cares.

We want Chinese phones for half your price.

The company’s “Apple Intelligence” system will allow iPhones to perform a range of tasks that include photo editing, using the camera to identify objects in the real world and generating text. During a segment promoting Apple Intelligence, the company promised an ability to create custom emojis based solely on prompts like “cowboy frog”.

Fuck you.

Seriously, fuck you.

Custom emojis?

Apple’s shares fell slightly, around 1%, following the event.

The new iPhone 16 also promised a “bold new palette” of colors and a more resilient display screen. It introduces an “action button” to the phone that can perform customizable activities, as well as a new A18 chip intended to provide better performance.

We’ve got enough colors, you queer.

China phones have colors.

Give us the China phones. We don’t want this shit.

Huawei Attempting to Fully Break Free of the Google Prison https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/01/27/huawei-attempting-to-fully-break-free-of-the-google-prison/ Sat, 27 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Weening off of the Western software that all computer systems are based on is a big, decades-long project.

However, the fact that there is so much open source software makes it a lot easier.

RT:

Huawei has unveiled its new in-house-developed operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT, which the Chinese tech giant expects to help it break with the Android ecosystem.

The company last week announced plans to roll out a developer version of the platform in the second quarter of the current year followed by the full commercial version in the fourth quarter. The step comes as part of Huawei’s ambitious plan to bolster its own software ecosystem.

The Shenzhen-based corporation first unveiled its proprietary Harmony system back in 2019, and launched it on some smartphones a year later. However, shortly thereafter the US imposed restrictions aimed at cutting the Harmony system’s access to Google’s technical support.

As a result, unlike previous consumer versions of the HarmonyOS, the new version is not compatible with Android. The company has opened its first developer beta test to acquire testers and experience key features.

Last year, Huawei launched its Mate60 series of smartphones that, according to the company, will be powered by a domestically developed chip set. The release represented a remarkable comeback into the high-end smartphone market for Huawei, which has been struggling under US sanctions for years.

I’m hopeful about China’s plan to create an entire new computer ecosystem. If anyone has the resources to do it, it’s the Chinese.

But it’s very sad that we’re all locked in this Jewish techno prison in the first place.

Closed source software was always a prison.

No one should have agreed to this.

At the beginning of the computer age, we should have listened to the very smart people claiming that closed software was a prison being built around us.

He tried to warn us.

Apple is in dire straits.

There are 1.5 billion people in China. China is a very rich country, where, unlike in the United States or Europe, everyone can afford a new iPhone every year or two.

They used to buy them, but they don’t anymore, because the US is a hostile country and using an iPhone is increasingly being viewed as very unpatriotic.

Reuters:

Apple is offering rare discounts on its iPhones in China, cutting retail prices by as much as 500 yuan ($70) amid growing competitive pressure in the world’s biggest smartphone market.

The U.S. tech giant cut prices of some iPhones by 5%, its Chinese website showed on Monday. The time-limited promotion, branded as a Lunar New Year event, will last from Jan. 18 through Jan. 21 in a lead-up to the holiday in mid-February.

Sales of Apple’s latest iPhone 15 series of handsets have been far worse than previous models in China.

Home-grown rivals such as Huawei Technologies and Xiaomi offer competitive models, while sources have said some companies and government departments have been limiting staffers’ use of Apple devices – mirroring U.S. government restrictions of Chinese apps on security grounds.

Chinese iPhone sales dropped 30% in the first week of 2024 versus the same period a year earlier, Jefferies analysts said in a client note, having fallen 3% for all of 2023. Analysts expect the competitive landscape to get tougher this year.

Apple has not cut prices for its latest iPhones in years. The cuts come after it surprised the market by not raising prices for the iPhone 15 series at its September launch.

Along with increasing problems selling their overpriced phones, Apple has totally failed to innovate during the 15 years since the death of Steve Jobs.

I don’t think very many people are going to buy their $3,500 VR headset. Frankly, I don’t even believe it is going to work very well. I haven’t seen any reason to believe that it doesn’t cause the same problems with nausea as every other VR headset.

A botched launch of the headset could signal a downward spiral for one of the last great American companies.

Frankly, I am a bit excited to try it. They are doing free trials in Apple stores starting February 2.

But even if it does work, Huawei will just introduce a better version of it at a third of the price in a year from now.

There are some questions about Apple’s ability to make good products.

However, I’ve heard good things about the iPhone 15.

If it gets so hot you can’t hold it, you’re probably using it too much.

It also points to the fact that these machines are creating a massive amount of radiation, and you really shouldn’t be carrying them around in your pocket unless the power is off.

The Guardian:

Apple is facing complaints from users about overheating in relation to its new iPhone 15 models, with some customers claiming the titanium frame becomes too hot to hold.

The iPhone maker’s community forum is carrying customer feedback about the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, claiming that the handsets are overheating.

“I’ve had the new iPhone 15 Pro and it’s so hot, it’s too hot to hold,” wrote one user. Another wrote: “My skin hurts!!! What is going on with iPhone 15 Pro Max??”

There are multiple posts on the Apple forum referring to overheating of the iPhone 15 Pro series, with one user posting a photo of their iPhone 15 next to a thermometer recording a temperature of 111F (44C). There are also posts on X and Reddit.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst at TF International Securities, said any overheating issue was probably due to “compromises” in the phone’s design as the company attempted to reduce the product’s weight.

The iPhone Pro model has a frame made from titanium, a poor conductor of heat, which could hamper the handset’s ability to disperse heat. Previously, Apple has used stainless steel for its high-end phones.

Kuo wrote: “The primary cause is more likely the compromises made in the thermal system design to achieve a lighter weight, such as the reduced heat dissipation area and the use of a titanium frame, which negatively impacts thermal efficiency.”

Well, a lot of people are not complaining about this. So either some of them are borked, or some people are using the phone for long hours on end.

Apple Shares Collapsing After China Ban https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/09/08/apple-shares-collapsing-after-china-ban/ Fri, 08 Sep 2023 00:00:00 +0000

China hasn’t actually totally banned the iPhone – they’ve simply banned it among government employees because it is a security risk.

Apple used to take security very seriously, and they simply don’t anymore. People with iPhones are effectively using US government spying devices to do Chinese government work.

Maybe the US government can’t see everything on an iPhone. No one really knows. The long-time argument against backdoors on the iPhone is that everyone in the US government uses one, and if there was a backdoor, America’s enemies would eventually gain access to it.

We’ve seen this in various CIA leaks – that using the act of using their spying software exposes it on the open internet and then other actors can grab it and use it.

The fact that the US, in theory, can’t hack your phone without getting their phones hacked sort of undermines the theory that “the government sees everything you do no matter what.” I’ve pointed this out often.

But it simply does not make sense to use it when you don’t have any faith in it, and China is producing phones they do have faith in.

What’s more: the fact that China is doing this might mean that they’ve discovered a flaw in the iPhone.

Or, it could simply mean that they want to promote their own phones and hurt American businesses.

It was really ridiculous to declare an economic war against China. I can tell you that. They’ve got a whole lot of leverage.

RT:

Apple’s market value has fallen by nearly $200 billion after reports that China has banned government workers from using iPhones or any other foreign devices for work purposes, or bringing them into the office.

Shares in Apple fell almost 3% on Thursday and are down 6.4% over the last two days. Several major suppliers of the US tech giant have also seen their stocks plummet. Taiwan’s TSMC, the world’s biggest contract chipmaker and a major Apple supplier, has lost over 2%, while shares in ASE Technology Holding, one of the world’s largest semiconductor testing and packaging companies, slid 2%, and camera lens-maker Largan Precision saw a decline of more than 3%.

China, the largest foreign market for Apple products, could further expand its curbs on officials’ use of iPhones, according to Allen Huang, executive director of Mega International Investment Services Corp in Taipei, as cited by Reuters.

China has a lot of government employees. But this isn’t really the issue at hand here.

The issue is that China is about to begin a campaign against Apple among the population. China has more respect for personal freedoms than the US, so they wouldn’t outright ban apple products in the way that the US has banned Chinese products. But if the Chinese government launches a big campaign against the use of Apple products, 85% of the population will go along with it.

Even while there has been a negative attitude towards the US since Biden took over and started threatening a war, Apple maintained its China market well in 2022.

That’s very much unlikely to last, with China announcing they are not secure. The brand is what is powerful – it’s one of these brands that in China is associated with “good face.” I’m not going into a whole Sino-sociology lesson right now, but basically, certain brands are an important part of the Chinese status economy. Up until recently, these were all Western (or Taiwanese) brands, but increasingly, “good face” has become associated with consumer patriotism.

There is a story in Islam about how when Muhammed announced that it was haram to drink alcohol, people who were in the midst of drinking alcohol started gagging themselves to vomit it up. You could be looking at something similar to that with the iPhone in China. If the state announces it is unpatriotic to use iPhones, most people are going to go along with it, because China is a high-trust and patriotic country.

This has already been slowly happening, as Huawei’s phones have gotten better. In 2015, nearly a third of Apple’s sales were in China, and now it down to a quarter.

I wrote earlier week that Huawei making these super-phones is going to take a big chunk out of Apple’s market share.

See: China Launching $40 Billion State Fund for Local Chip Industry as Huawei Releases Groundbreaking Smartphone

The Chinese are the people with money, who also view phones as fun status symbols and will buy $1500 new phones when they already have a serviceable phone. Apple is really dependent on this.

It’s amazing that Apple hasn’t done anything to branch out into other tech. It’s really shocking that they have all this money, due to their inflated stock price, and aren’t going into AI in any significant way. They aren’t doing anything. Remember when they were talking about a car? And a line of luxury smart TVs?

Instead, they’ve decided “we will just sell infinity cellphones.”

Rim Cook is probably the worst Fortune 100 CEO in history. It’s amazing, the way this company has just been pissed away.

I’ve been saying it for years: it’s not something you want to hold a lot of long-term. The only real question is when to short it, because at some point, there is going to be a massive slide – bigger than 6%.

Although, quite frankly, that could be happening now. This might just be the beginning. If China does start pushing the population to stop using the phones, the current valuation of the company will be even more ridiculous than it already is, and you will start to see people panic.

Logically, that would be good for other tech stocks and for crypto. But this stuff is not always logical. It could also just cause the entire tech market to drop.

France Wants to Sue Apple for Planned Obsolescence https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/05/16/france-wants-to-sue-apple-for-planned-obsolescence/ Tue, 16 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000

If France has laws against planned obsolescence, they should just ban all consumer electronics and go back to the 1980s.

Apple is possibly the worst offender, but every company is doing this. There is no real reason an iPhone from 2015 shouldn’t be fine today, and yet no one, not even the most thrifty, are walking around with 2015 iPhones.

RT:

The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into Apple’s alleged efforts to render its own devices obsolete in order to force users to upgrade. The complaint follows successful judgments against the California tech giant in France and Italy.

“Following a complaint, an investigation was opened in December 2022 into deceptive marketing practices and programmed obsolescence,” the office said in a statement on Monday, adding that the complaint was filed by an activist group called ‘Halte a L’Obsolescence Programmee’ (HOP).

The group’s complaint centers around the practice of ‘serialization’, whereby spare parts like microchips or speakers are matched with serial numbers to a specific generation of iPhone. This prevents third-party repairers from using generic parts, and as models are phased out by Apple, so too are the associated spares, forcing customers to shell out for a newer model.

Apple, HOP claims, can detect when a phone has been repaired with unauthorized parts and can remotely “degrade” its performance.

Apple could have been the single best American company.

Steve Jobs was hardcore. He’s demonized now, like, “he was evil for having a strong work ethic and expecting his extraordinarily well-paid employees to perform well.”

The reality is, he was a lot more of a serious person than any of these other assholes in Silicon Valley.

He did some things people might consider shady, with tricks to get people into the Apple “ecosystem.” But he wouldn’t have run these stupid scams that Rim Cook is running. He would have actually innovated, and expanded the company, rather than leaving it as a cellphone company that maybe also sells a couple of laptops.

Rim Cock designs these phones to break when they drop, then refuses to allow you to repair them. It’s a criminal conspiracy. There is no reason you would design a phone to break easily, and there is no reason you would refuse to allow it to be repaired – unless you were a homosexual criminal.

Apple is not even doing AI. Siri is still at the level she was at in 2016. The bitch is always confused. ChatGPT isn’t confused, is he?

It’s absurd.

The French are a group of people who would probably prefer to go back to the 1980s. If their government was even remotely serious, they would just ban all consumer electronics.

Russian Spy Chief Confirms He Believes Truss’ “It’s Done” Text was About Bombing the Nord Stream https://www.anglinarchive.com/2022/11/06/russian-spy-chief-confirms-he-believes-truss-its-done-text-was-about-bombing-the-nord-stream/ Sun, 06 Nov 2022 00:00:00 +0000
Every time I see a picture of Liz Truss, DMX starts playing in my head.

It’s sort of weird that Antony Blinken would tell Liz Truss of all people to oversee the bombing of the Nord Stream – and then not even tell her to not talk about it on unprotected channels.

But that’s apparently what happened.

RT:

The head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin says he has “indirect confirmation” that the message reading “It’s done” that then-UK PM Liz Truss allegedly sent to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was about the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

During his brief interview with Rossiya 1 channel on Sunday, Naryshkin was asked whether Russian intelligence believed there were “ample grounds” to link Truss’ text message to the explosions at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in late September, in which three out of four lines of the Nord Stream were damaged.

“I only have indirect confirmation that all this has grounds under it,” the spy chief responded.

In late October, Russia’s defense ministry openly blamed the UK for being involved in the sabotage of the pipelines, which carried Russian gas to Europe through Germany. According to the ministry, “British specialists” from the Royal Navy, based in the Ukrainian city of Ochakov, “took part in planning, supporting and executing” the attack on the pipelines.

London responded to the accusations with a tweet, claiming that Moscow was “peddling false claims of an epic scale.”

Last week,  Finnish-German tech businessman and social media personality Kim Dotcom claimed on Twitter that Truss messaged “It’s done” to Blinken “a minute after the pipeline blew up and before anybody else knew.”

The entrepreneur didn’t provide any proof to his claims, but suggested that Moscow based its accusations against London and Washington of Nord Stream sabotage based on the data it obtained from hacking the UK PM’s phone.

The story about the purported breach was reported by the British media, with anonymous sources telling journalists that the hackers – presumably working for Russia – were able to obtain a year’s worth of Truss’ highly sensitive communications with British and foreign officials.

What even is this?

Everyone knows these phones can be hacked. At the very least, couldn’t they turn off the iCloud function on their phones?

How irresponsible are these people?

But hey – I guess they just don’t care about getting caught. They can just say “Russia is lying tho” and the whole media will repeat their claims.

Apple to Move iPhone 14 Manufacturing from China to India https://www.anglinarchive.com/2022/09/26/apple-to-move-iphone-14-manufacturing-from-china-to-india/ Mon, 26 Sep 2022 00:00:00 +0000

This is such a goofy jerk-off. These factories “outside of China” in Southeast Asia are not only run by the Chinese, the Chinese actually move all of the factory’s employees to the place where the factory is. They’ve been doing this ever since Trump started with the sanctions.

Reuters:

Apple Inc said on Monday it will manufacture its latest iPhone 14 in India, as the tech giant moves some of its production away from China.

The company launched the flagship iPhone 14 at an event earlier this month, where it focused on safety upgrades rather than flashy new technical specifications, with the exception of a new adventure-focused watch.

“The new iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. We’re excited to be manufacturing iPhone 14 in India,” Apple said in a statement.

Analysts at J.P.Morgan expect Apple to move about 5% of iPhone 14 production from late 2022 to India, which is the world’s second-biggest smartphone market after China.

Apple could make one out of four iPhones in India by 2025, JPM analysts said in a note last week.

In this case, I don’t even know what “manufacture” means. Typically, when talking about a finished consumer electronic, that word means “assemble” – from parts made in China.

They’re not making the battery, the process, the camera, or the screen in India, I can tell you that.

It’s possible they would make the plastic in India, but I don’t know why. It makes more sense to just ship all the parts from Shenzhen to a Chinese factory in India to bypass the sanctions with as little energy as possible.

Reuters Says White House Considering Banning iPhone in Russia https://www.anglinarchive.com/2021/12/23/reuters-says-white-house-considering-banning-iphone-in-russia/ Thu, 23 Dec 2021 00:00:00 +0000

Yeah, do this.

iPhones are garbage now and no one should be socially pressured into using them.

RT:

The US is considering the possibility of banning exports of consumer and industrial technologies to Russia, such as components for smartphones and planes, if Moscow launches an invasion of Ukraine, news agency Reuters has claimed.

Citing an unnamed source in the White House, the agency reported that a handful of American industries could be banned from conducting business in the Russian market.

According to Reuters, restricting Russia’s ability to import smartphones, as well as critical aircraft and automobile components, would seriously affect consumers, industrial operations, and employment there. This measure, which would be part of a larger economic sanctions package, is due to be discussed at a meeting of senior officials at the White House.

Earlier this month, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland threatened that Washington would impose unprecedented sanctions if Russia stages a military incursion into Ukraine. Tensions on the border are currently very high, with multiple Western media outlets suggesting a conflict is imminent.

If implemented, the sanctions would use tools created by US President Joe Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump, who banned the supply of advanced semiconductor technology to China’s Huawei earlier this year.

Huawei is officially a much better company than Apple.

People should use Huawei products.

People should use superior Chinese products, as a rule.

China is the best country, with the best products.

Still… I doubt Apple will let Brandon ban sales to Russia.
