I’m still not sure what Salvini is on trial for in the first place.

All he was doing was enforcing the laws of the country he was a minister of.

A leaked chat between Italian magistrates revealed that while they admitted thinking in private that former interior minister Matteo Salvini’s migrant policies were correct and legal, they chose to attack him publicly anyway.

The leaked messages were made on WhatsApp in 2018 while Salvini served as interior minister. During that time, judges were continually attacking the League leader for his policy that closed Italy’s ports to migrant transport NGO vessels operating in the Mediterranean.

Paolo Auriemma, chief prosecutor of the city of Viterbo, stated in one message revealed by newspaper La Verità: “I’m sorry to say that I don’t really see where Salvini is wrong. Illegitimate attempts are made to enter Italy, and the Minister of the Interior intervenes to prevent this from happening. And I don’t understand what the Agrigento Prosecutor has to do with it.”

According to an Il Giornale report on Thursday, the message was met with a response from magistrate Luca Palamara, who said: “You are right. But now we must attack.”

I haven’t read a word about this in any publication even close to the mainstream today, and I’ve gone through quite a few of those.

None of the people who screech about “authoritarianism” and “rule of law” seem to be concerned with these scum prosecuting someone they don’t think broke any laws.

Last year, Palamara was investigated on corruption charges after allegedly taking €40,000 (£36,000/$44,000) from lawyers who were at the centre of another corruption investigation.

During the WhatsApp chat, Auriemma went on to question attacking Salvini’s migrant policies, saying that “everyone thinks like him” and that his move to stop mass migration was popular with the general public.

The chats are just a small sample of the leaked files, according to the newspaper, which added that the content of the messages left members of Salvini’s League speechless.

A group of League MPs petitioned President Sergio Mattarella to investigate the matter, saying: “What was reported by the newspaper is very serious and intolerable: the independence of politics with respect to the judiciary must be preserved.”

Why did it leave them speechless?

How stupid can they be to not realize by now that they’re being targeted?

Salvini sent a letter to the Italian president on Thursday and published its contents on his Facebook page. He stated that he was concerned about judicial impartiality given he faces a potential trial over allegations of kidnapping migrants during his term as interior minister. The hearing is set for October.

“This affects the principle of separation of powers and gives me real concern about the lack of unbiased judgement that affects the outcome of the procedure against me,” he said.

Well, the good news is he wasn’t really going to jail anyway, and the idiots actually gave his poll numbers a boost, so him and his buddies will probably get a comfortable majority in the next parliament.

Let’s hope they actually do something about all these vermin in the justice system when that happens.

Three teenagers were killed and three others were injured after a driver intentionally used his vehicle to ram their car, sending it into a tree off a Southern California road, authorities said Monday.

The man, Anurag Chandra, 42, faces multiple counts of murder and assault with a deadly weapon, Riverside County jail records show. He is being held without bail.

The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Temescal Valley, southeast of Los Angeles, state and local fire agencies said in a statement.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said. The others were taken to a hospital, where two died later.

“The investigation has now changed from a hit-run collision to homicide,” California Highway Patrol Lt. David Yokley said.

Yokley said Monday that investigators believe Chandra intentionally struck the teens’ Toyota Prius with his car, which caused the driver to lose control and strike a tree. Chandra then fled, he said.

Yokley did not disclose a motive.

His motive was probably that he was such a genius he had a John Nash style breakdown and thought they were working for the CIA in a conspiracy against him.

The suspect accused of stabbing a police officer before crashing a speeding U-Haul van into a crowd of people in Edmonton, Canada, had come to the country from Somalia trying to claim refugee status, police revealed.

Officers took the 30-year-old suspect into custody and he apparently acted alone, Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said. Officers said pending charges included terrorism and five counts of attempted murder, but they did not reveal his name.

An Islamic State flag was found in the car that hit the officer, according to Knecht.

The suspect was known to both Edmonton police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Marlin Degrand, assistant commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, said the man was flagged in 2015 for extremist ideologies and police interviewed him at the time, but he said charges were not warranted after an “exhaustive investigation.” It was not clear when he first traveled to Canada.

The chaos began outside Commonwealth Stadium, where a Canadian Football League game was being played.

In video released by police, a white Chevrolet Malibu slammed into a police officer in front of his cruiser. The officer was sent flying after the Malibu struck the police car. The driver then got out and appeared to stab the officer.

The officer was stabbed multiple times before the suspect ran off, the Edmonton Journal reported.

The officer was not critically wounded, the Globe and Mail reported.

A few hours later, the U-Haul van was stopped at an impaired driving checkpoint. Knecht said the driver’s name was similar to the name of the registered owner of the car that hit the officer. He said the van then sped off toward downtown with police in pursuit.

Police say the U-Haul hit and injured four pedestrians before it rolled and the suspect was arrested.

“There were people flying and everything,” witness Kim Anderson told the Edmonton Journal. “I’m shocked — I just see people flying.”

An 18-year-old neighbor charged in the slaying of an 11-year-old New Jersey girl who had been reported missing has made his first court appearance.

Andreas Erazo is charged with murder and two weapons offenses.

Abbiegail Smith was found Thursday morning near the apartment building where she lived in Keansburg.

The Monmouth County prosecutor’s office says Erazo lived in an upstairs apartment.

The girl was last seen in her apartment Wednesday night and was reported missing by her mother about an hour later.

Yes, the girl was black.

A Mexican man living in the U.S. illegally had been stopped by Ohio authorities and released weeks before a crime spree in which he’s suspected that left one woman dead, officials said.

Juan Emmanuel Razo-Ramirez, 35, is accused of attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl, shooting a woman in the arm, killing another woman in her home, then getting in a shootout with police in Lake County, Ohio, on Monday.

Razo-Ramirez, who has no criminal record, had been stopped on July 7 by Lake County sheriff’s officials. They released him after speaking with federal immigration officials.

“As far as I can tell, and from what I heard him admit, he says he’s undocumented — he’s not legally in the United States,” Lake County Prosecuting Atty. Charles Coulson said in an interview Wednesday.

Painesville Municipal Judge Mike Cicconetti appeared furious at Tuesday’s arraignment. “He’s here illegally? And they didn’t take him? … I can’t set a bond high enough.” He set bond at $10 million.

Razo-Ramirez pleaded not guilty to attempted murder. More charges are expected to be filed.

Good on that Prosecutor for calling him “undocumented.”

Razo-Ramirez had no apparent criminal record and the deputies could find no evidence he had committed a crime, Dunlap said, so they let him go instead of trying to hold him until immigration agents could interview him in person.

He should have been deported. However, a British appeals court said it would violate his human rights to send him back to the Congo.

Eight months after being granted the right to stay in Britain, he attacked an 86 year old woman.

A violent criminal with a string of convictions fractured an 86-year-old’s pelvis eight months after he won a human rights battle to stay in Britain.

A judge said Herve Mika, 24, should have been deported to his native Congo in central Africa, five years before he attacked a vulnerable pensioner in Ipswich, Suffolk, a court has heard.

Mika was convicted of racially or religiously aggravated assault and affray at Coventry Crown Court in 2008, and the judge recommended he serve his sentence before being thrown out of Britain.

However, he successfully appealed against his deportation in July last year, arguing he would not get the medication he needed for his mental illness in the Congo.

In March this year Mika, 24, committed grievous bodily harm on a frail 86-year-old at a Sainsbury’s.

The attack has turned his devastated victim’s life upside down, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Mika was trying to flee from staff who suspected him of shoplifting when he pushed the woman to the ground.

Ipswich Crown Court heard yesterday there had been doubts over his mental fitness to enter a plea to GBH after the incident in the town.

But Mika admitted the charge after being ruled fit to do so.
