The Anti-Defamation League, a US organization that aims to combat antisemitism and support Israel, has published a report alleging that Steam is “rife with extremism and antisemitism,” and accusing Valve of allowing the spread of hateful and extremist material through a “highly permissive approach to content policy.”

The ADL said its report is based on what it described as an “unprecedented, platform-wide” analysis of public data on Steam, including more than 458 million user profiles, 152 million profile and user group avatar images, and 610 million user comments. The ADL’s Center on Extremism found “found millions of examples of extremist and hateful content, including explicit hate symbols like sonnenrads and ‘happy merchants,’ as well as copypastas (blocks of text that are copied and pasted to form images or long-form writing) shaped into swastikas” being shared on the platform.

“The clear gaps in Steam’s moderation of this content inflict harm by exposing untold users to hate and harassment, enabling potential radicalization and normalizing hate and extremism in the gaming community,” the ADL wrote. “Understanding the extent of extremist and hateful content on the platform is key to fighting the proliferation of hate online.”

Pepe the Frog and swastikas are the most common extremist symbols found on Steam, according to the report, respectively representing 54.6% and 9.1% of detected symbols. The ADL also found “tens of thousands of pieces of terrorism-related content on Steam Community,” including more than 15,000 public accounts with profile pictures featuring the flags or logos of ISIS, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others. Hundreds of accounts were found using photos of white supremacist mass murderers Brenton Tarrant and Anders Breivik as their avatar images.

Game mods are also touched on in the report, which claims to have found hundreds of mods for games, most notably Garry’s Mod, “that specifically reference mass shootings.”

The report says Steam appears to be “technically capable” of moderating content, and has done so “selectively” in the past in response to external pressure: One example of that would be the removal of Pepe the Frog emoticons from the Steam Marketplace following a DMCA takedown noticed filed by Pepe creator Matt Furie. But its overall approach has been “largely ad hoc, with Valve failing to systematically address the issue of extremism and hate on the platform.”

Matt Furie was working with the ADL to shut down Pepe the Frog based on copyright claims. He never cared about copyright before and thought it was funny, then the ADL came to him and offered to get him a lot of money. They may have also threatened or blackmailed him somehow, that’s not clear. It was a whole saga.

But comparing DMCA to freedom of speech is deranged. This is like when they say “hate speech and child pornography,” as if the two are the same thing.

“Valve needs to make significant changes to their approach to platform governance both in terms of policy and practice to address the ways in which hate and extremism have proliferated on the Steam platform,” the report states.

“As ADL has stated previously, policymakers must demonstrate their commitment to disrupting hate and harassment in online multiplayer games. While government is necessarily focused on the dangers posed by social media and AI, policymakers must also pay attention to the immediate threats pervasive in online gaming environments.”

Misguided TikTokers are using AI to translate Adolf Hitler’s speeches into English – and racking up millions of clicks on the under-fire platform, according to a watchdog media report.

Users have pushed and even celebrated the Nazi leader’s remarks in what is an apparent violation of TikTok’s guidelines that ban “promoting (including any praise, celebration, or sharing of manifesto) or providing material support to … individuals who cause serial or mass violence, or promote hateful ideologies.”

One disturbing clip garnered more than 1 million views before it was squashed, Media Matters reported last week.

The video is of Hitler giving a speech with a slow instrumental beat that suggests the ruthless killer didn’t want to spark a conflict during World War II, that he tried to save the lives of women and children and waited to attack until he had no choice, according to the watchdog report.

No historians argue that Hitler purposefully started World War II. That is a cartoon narrative, which doesn’t even make sense.

Why would you go to war with “the world”?

The caption attached to the clip states, “Just listen.”

Media Matters detailed other instances where Nazi-themed videos proliferated throughout the social media app.

Another video — that was also eventually pulled — showed cliffs by the water as another translated speech was played.

It reportedly racked up 270,000 views and another 22,700 likes with some comments including “AH was a good and kind man” and “this changed my views on him.”

An account with more than 20,000 followers and nearly 4 million views of 12 videos with Hitler speeches, an outline of Hitler and text that states, “Growing up is realizing Who the villain Really was.”

A TikTok spokesperson said in a statement to The Post late Tuesday that the social media app already “removed almost all of the videos identified in the Media Matters report for violating our community guidelines.”

Hitler was an incel art student with an emo haircut who became a leader because he felt he had no other choice. He’s a very relatable figure. And there’s a reason why none of the clips of him on the History Channel ever have subtitles: because if you listen to what he’s saying, you can’t possibly believe he was an unreasonable man.

I have always maintained that Hitler must be rehabilitated in order for any real change to happen in society. I understand that this is difficult. But no one ever said life would be easy.

As long as Hitler remains this boogieman, the ultimate symbol of evil, nothing is ever going to mean anything. It has to be known and understood: Hitler did nothing wrong. He may have made mistakes, he was a mere mortal, but his invasion of Poland was justified, and he conducted his war a lot more ethically than the so-called “allies.” He did not gas anyone in a fake shower room. He did not turn anyone into furniture or cleaning products. He tried to do his best to take care of his people. I’m sure bad things happened, or whatever, but… probably not that many bad things. These sorts of statements simply being in the public is a step forward.

The more people hear this stuff, and the more it goes undenounced by leftists, the closer it gets to being a valid political position to hold.

If you’re under 40, you’re going to live to see Holocaust memorials torn down statues of Hitler built in their place.

Reasonable colored gentleman will be resented for their leading role in that transformation, but it is a transformation that must take place.

The fierce clashes over recent days have trapped thousands of sick, wounded and displaced people in al-Shifa with no electricity and dwindling supplies.

Medics and aid workers have warned patients will die unless there is a pause in the battle. Thousands more are trapped in other health facilities in the north of Gaza, as Israel’s campaign to “crush” Hamas moves towards its sixth week.

Despite growing pressure from even staunch allies, Netanyahu has so far rejected international calls for a ceasefire. “The war against [Hamas] is advancing with full force, and it has one goal: to win. There is no alternative to victory,” he said late on Saturday in televised comments.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin may start World War III without more US assistance — bluntly comparing his adversary to “a second Hitler.”

Zelensky gave the ominous warning in an interview with “60 Minutes” in which he said that his nation was “fighting for real with a nuclear state that threatens to destroy the world.”

If that’s what’s at stake, then maybe just give them the Donbass? I mean – right?

“The whole world has to decide whether we want to stop Putin, or whether we want to start the beginning of a world war,” Zelensky told CBS News’ anchor Scott Pelley.

“We can’t change Putin. Russian society has lost the respect of the world. They elected him and re-elected him — and raised a second Hitler,” Zelensky said, directly comparing Putin to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“We cannot go back in time. But we can stop it here.”

He claimed that if Putin is successful in his invasion of Ukraine, the Russian president will invade other countries as well in order to expand his empire — much like Hitler did in the years leading up to World War II.

Oh come on.

These people just say things that are retarded. These are things that no serious person believes are true. But we live in a democracy, so they can just pander to morons.

Zelensky described Putin as a “person who has made his way with such bloody actions, with everything he has said cannot be trusted.

“There is no trust in such a person because he has not been a human being for a long time.”

Speaking of the need for more aid, the Ukrainian president said: “We’re defending the values of the whole world. And these are Ukrainian people who are paying the highest price.

“We are truly fighting for our freedom, we are dying,” he continued. “We are not fiction, we are not a book. We are fighting with a nuclear state that threatens to destroy the world.

“If Ukraine falls, what will happen in 10 years? Just think about it. If [the Russians] reach Poland, what’s next? A Third World War?”

Somehow, this is getting more cartoonish still.

You know that the US-backed Russian opposition party – run by Alexi Navalny, that fraudster neo-Nazi democracy activist who poisoned himself or whatever – had to denounce the Ukraine because they are advocating for killing all Russians. It’s hilarious, because the Navalny people supported the Ukraine, and in theory, are the only people through which the Ukraine could “win the war.”

To clarify that point: the only path to a “victory” is a collapse of the Putin government, and the the Navalny people are the only way that could work. If the Putin government were to collapse now, you’d have a bunch of lunatics seize power who would declare total war and send tens of millions of men marching into Europe, presumably also nuke major capitals.

That’s the craziest thing about this whole situation: Putin is the moderate Russian.

The redesign of the house where Adolf Hitler was born will go ahead as planned, Austria’s interior ministry has said, after a documentary aired new claims about the late Nazi dictator’s wishes for it.

After years of legal wrangling, the government decided to turn the house in the northern town of Braunau, where Hitler was born in 1889, into a police station with a human rights training centre. Work will begin on 2 October.

Oh, so basically they’re going to include a synagogue.

In an attempt to prevent the building on the border with Germany becoming a neo-Nazi shrine, the government took control of the dilapidated building in 2016. The expropriation ended a bitter saga between the state and the former owner.

“Everything will go ahead as planned,” an interior ministry spokesperson said.

The Austrian director Günter Schwaiger, however, said the ministry’s plans for the house will “always be suspected” of being “in line with the dictator’s wishes”. He is expected to release a documentary about the building later this month.

As evidence Schwaiger cited the discovery of a local newspaper article from 10 May 1939, which states that it was Hitler’s wish to have his birth house converted into offices for the district authorities.

Well, the reason Hitler would have wanted that is because Hitler was, at the time, the most famous person on earth, and it didn’t make sense for a house he was associated with to be a private home. Plus I think he might have owned it at the time and was donating it, or knew the current owner, or something.

Obviously, the Jews want the house torn down and replaced with some kind of disgusting Holocaust monument. A statue of a pile of shoes or whatever.
