Imagine that there are adult human beings living on the planet earth who think the the US Constitution has some bearing on the way the US government is run. Not just people with clinical mental illness, or street junkies, but normal adults with normal jobs who live in normal houses.

The US supreme court has upheld a federal ban preventing anyone placed under a domestic violence restraining order from possessing a gun.

The ruling in US v Rahimi, supported by eight justices to one, with Clarence Thomas dissenting, will leave in place legal protections against a major source of gun violence in America.

My nigga Thomas is the single person on the court who even pretends to care about this country.

Imagine that people tried to tell you “oh well, the really important thing about voting Republican is that they get to make the SCOTUS appointments.”

Writing the opinion, the chief justice, John Roberts, said that individuals can be temporarily disarmed if they pose a “credible threat to the physical safety of another” without violating the second amendment to the constitution that allows the right to bear arms.

“Since the founding, the nation’s firearm laws have included regulations to stop individuals who threaten physical harm to others from misusing firearms,” he wrote.

There actually is an argument that noncitizens don’t have any guaranteed Constitutional rights at all, so I don’t think that counts. This is the same court who extends all of these rights to non-citizens, however, so they can use a ban on non-citizens (blacks, specifically) owning guns to say “this is an example of humans not having a Second Amendment right.”

The judgment will come as a relief to gun control advocates who had feared that the ability to disarm dangerous people might fall prey to the radical interpretation of the second amendment advanced by the court’s conservative supermajority.

Merrick Garland, the US attorney general, welcomed the ruling as confirmation that “commonsense prohibition is entirely consistent” with the second amendment, adding that the justice department would “continue to enforce this important statute”.

The decision from the chief justice comes as a rebuke to the fifth circuit court of appeals which had previously ruled that the ban on gun possession for those under domestic violence restraining orders was unconstitutional.

In his opinion, Roberts framed the decision to continue the ban on gun possession by those under a domestic violence order as “common sense”. He wrote: “When an individual poses a clear threat of physical violence to another, the threatening individual may be disarmed.”

Not that it even matters, but the law doesn’t even say the man has to have serious abused her. All forms of gun control are meant to push towards completely abolishing the right to own guns. The Second Amendment doesn’t exist, but there are still ways you can privately buy and own some types of guns without breaking the law.

Basically, these people want a situation where the only gun you can own in a shotgun or a musket, and even then, not in the city. They also want all guns controlled by some weird biometric shit, where only one person (or a series of people) can use the gun (this is in CyberPunk 2077, for the real niggas who play that game because they fixed it). This would even prevent people from raiding a police department or military depot and getting (usable) guns.

All gun control laws are about taking all guns. Period. From bans on fully-auto, to background checks, to other forms, to restrictions on felons of drug users, it’s a process of adding more and more hurdles and restrictions until they get to the point where there are so many restrictions that no one will even notice if they just say “actually, you can’t own guns anymore at all.”

Even if you believed that there was such a thing as “common sense gun control,” taking guns from a “domestic abuser” (anti-male slur for a man who keeps his woman in line), isn’t “common sense.” If I’m gonna kill my wife, the one thing I am not going to do is shoot her.

I’m gonna:

Hundreds of women staged a sit-in outside Colorado’s capitol on Monday, calling on the state’s Democratic governor to ban all guns, a move his office said “would simply be unconstitutional”.

The gun-ban protest included an estimated 1,000 people by late Monday morning, with some protesters joining from out of state, the Denver Post reported.

The sit-in was organized by two anti-racism activists, Tina Strawn, an author and podcaster, and Saira Rao, who made national headlines as one of the organizers of Race to Dinner, an effort to educate liberal white women about their racism over group dinners.

Race2Dinner is one of the most retarded things that ever happened in the history of current year.

It’s a thing where white women pay several thousand dollars to be told they’re racist during dinner.

On the list of reasons why women shouldn’t be allowed to engage in public life, this is in the top 10.

Here 4 the Kids, the group Strawn and Rao created earlier this year, argues that America’s gun rights culture is rooted in white supremacy and had asked that white women demonstrate in person in Denver, while calling on other supporters to protest remotely.

The demonstration had attracted advance support from Hollywood actors, with Chelsea Handler, Niecy Nash, Amanda Seales, Amy Schumer and others posting about the demonstration on Instagram, highlighting the fact that gun violence has become the leading cause of death for American children, and calling on white women to take immediate action.

But the protest sparked pushback from some longtime gun violence prevention activists in Colorado, who argued that advocacy for the “extreme” policy of banning all guns was counterproductive.

“This misguided approach will do more harm than good and create unrealistic expectations for a public hungry for meaningful reforms,” Rhonda Fields and Tom Sullivan, two Colorado state senators who lost children to gun violence, wrote in an opinion piece in the Denver Post on Monday.

Fields lost her son to gun violence in 2005 when he was killed before he was scheduled to testify in a murder trial. Sullivan’s son was killed in a 2012 mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.

They wrote that Colorado has been making progress with targeted legislation designed to keep guns out of the hands of high-risk people, including a recent law banning gun sales to people under 21. But Fields and Sullivan said they feared that advocacy for more “extreme solutions” could “undermine and demoralize those efforts”.

The office of Jared Polis, the state’s Democratic governor, said in a statement that he supports Americans’ second amendment right to own guns, and pledged he “will not issue an unconstitutional order that will be swiftly struck down in court simply to make a public relations statement”.

The group behind Monday’s demonstration, Here 4 the Kids, launched in early April in the wake of another American school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, amassed more than 60,000 followers on Instagram in less than two months.

While a decision to stop selling assault-style weapons in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting dented its overall sales, Dick’s Sporting Goods says that the dip reflects a broader weakness in the world of firearms

The nation’s largest seller of sporting goods reported that consolidated same-store sales were down 3.9% in the third quarter, due in part to double-digit declines in the areas of electronics and hunting.

The weak numbers come in the wake of the Dick’s decision in February to not only halt assault weapon sales, but to no longer sell guns to people under the age of 21 in response to the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which left 17 dead.

Just stop and think about this in context. Where else have we seen big companies choosing signaling points over profits in the last year?

A man shot by police after stabbing three people in Melbourne’s Bourke Street has died in hospital.

“From what we know of that individual, we are treating this as a terrorism incident.”

He said the attacker, 31, was known to “federal intelligence authorities” as well as to Victoria Police.

“He’s known to police mainly in respect to relatives he has that are certainly persons of interest to us.”

One witness said the driver got out of the car and threw “something like a bomb” inside before it erupted into flames.

An eyewitness said someone walked up to the alleged driver and was stabbed directly in the chest.

Witnesses said the man began randomly stabbing people in the street.

Even after that, the officers didn’t immediately use lethal force and tried to dodge his attacks while trying to use their tasers.

In a display of proper and sensible gun control, Australia is banning a previously approved bolt action rifle because it looks too much like a fully-semi automatic assault weapon.

Australia is the perfect example of what America should do about their guns.
