An Israeli scientist has invented a mask that “seals” the face and, according to testing, blocks 99.25% of coronavirus-sized particles, he said.

Noam Gavriely helped the Israel Defense Forces develop gas masks during the Iraq War, and admits that his new product, ViriMASK, resembles some wartime protection devices and doesn’t look attractive. But he said that in terms of protection, it offers a significant improvement over the N95 masks, which are meant to filter at least 95% of airborne particles, and are widely seen as the best currently available option.

Gavriely, ViriMASK CEO, told The Times of Israel: “Unlike other products, this is sealed all around the face, like gas masks and diving masks. And the filter is much more dense than the N95 mask and surgical masks, meaning that fewer particles penetrate.”

He said this can give peace of mind to hospital workers and other medical professionals, including dentists, and others who are at a higher risk of being exposed to the coronavirus.

The mask straps around the head and covers the eyes, nose and mouth, meaning that all points currently believed to be channels for coronavirus infection are protected.

“In this sense, you’re covering yourself completely and also protecting the environment around you from any infection you may have,” said Gavriely, who was a professor of physiology at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology until his early retirement in 2005.

“Originally, we designed it to give protection for medical staff, but others have started buying it online and we’re finding that almost everyone can use it,” he said. “People buy it to go to visit grandparents, to go on flights and wear for hospital check-ups.”

Look: goggles regulations are coming. You’re going to be forced to cover your eyes just as you’re currently forced to cover your mouth. You might as well look like a BOSS while doing it.

Local governments are going to start issuing decrees demanding goggles at any minute, now that the High Priest of Public Health Anthony Fauci has said it.

So get in early: get this Jewish mask, so you don’t look like an asshole walking around in ski goggles.

Don’t follow the stupid advice of Madam Birx and try to decorate the goggles yourself. You will look like a complete asshole if you do that. You’ll look like the dork in high school whose poor single mother bought his clothes for him at K-Mart.

We know that the coronavirus can enter the body through the nose and mouth — hence the constant recommendations from doctors to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

But what about the eyes? Should we all be wearing goggles or face shields as well?

It’s certainly possible that a person could get Covid-19 through the eyes, said Dr. Thomas Steinemann, a clinical spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

There is “emerging evidence” that people are catching the virus from droplets floating in the air, the World Health Organization confirmed earlier this month. One of the ways those droplets can enter your body is through the eyes. It’s also possible to get infected by touching a contaminated surface and then touching the eye, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Yes, it’s in the air,” Steinemann told CNN. “Can it land on the eye? Of course.”

Contracting the virus through your eyes is probably less likely, however, than getting it through your nose or mouth or from inhaling it, Steinemann said.

Steinemann said that if a significant number of people were getting infected through their eyes, doctors would probably see more Covid-19 patients with conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye (though having pink eye doesn’t necessarily mean you have the virus).

Also consider the path the virus would have to take to infect you. It would have to infect the surface of your eye and be carried to your nose through your tears, he said. From the nose, it would travel to the mouth or throat, and from there to the airways and into the lungs.

“That’s a rather circuitous route,” Steinemann said. “But I want to emphasize that it’s certainly plausible.”
So do you need to wear goggles?

So do you need to add goggles or face shields to your coronavirus wardrobe?

There’s been heightened interest around that question since Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, was asked about it in a recent interview with ABC News.

Here’s what Fauci said: “If you really want perfect protection of your mucosal surfaces … you have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have you mucosa in the eye. Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it. It’s not universally recommended. But if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it, if you can.”

Some people took that to mean that Fauci was urging everyone to wear eye coverings. Others complained that perhaps hazmat suits would be next.

But at a CNN coronavirus town hall on Thursday, Fauci suggested that his comments on eye coverings were overblown.

“I was talking to a group of teachers in a fireside chat and one of the teachers asked, ‘Can the virus enter through the eye?'” Fauci said. “Because some of the teachers were seeing people on television and wanted to wear eye shields.”

He continued, “And my response was, ‘Well certainly, if you have an eye shield and you’d like to wear it, it could help because the virus could enter through the eye.’ That’s not a recommendation that everybody should be wearing an eye shield.”

Steinemann said that eye coverings were a wise move for people who can’t reliably practice social distancing or those who have to be in areas where the air may be contaminated, perhaps because they’re a health care worker or a home caregiver for an infected patient.

But for the average person who is working from home or not coming into close contact with others outside the home, wearing a face mask and keeping a safe distance from others is probably enough.

If you replaced “goggles” with “masks,” this would be the same article that the media repeatedly published in March.

Seriously – you people remember this, no? They said, “oh yes, maybe a mask would help, but maybe it wouldn’t, it’s not really necessary, oh, it’s more of a thing for medical professionals and so on, you know – don’t worry, we’re not going to force you to wear masks.”

Until it was the law and anyone who didn’t wear one at all times was basically a murderer.

The same process is going to happen with the goggles.

These people are going to make you walk around in goggles. 

Maybe you should say “no”? 

If you were sitting around thinking, “well, at least I know this coronavirus gibberish can’t get any dumber and weirder,” then I feel bad for you.

Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested Wednesday that Americans should consider wearing goggles or a face shield in order to prevent spreading or catching COVID-19.

“If you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” the nation’s top infectious disease expert told ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton during an Instagram Live conversation on ABC News.

When asked if we’re going to get to a point where eye protection is recommended, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases responded, “It might, if you really want perfect protection of the mucosal surfaces.”

“You have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have mucosa in the eye,” he continued. “Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield you should use it.”

He noted that goggles and eye or face shields are “not universally recommended” at this time, “but if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.”

Of course, they will be recommended. They’re going to have everyone in the country walking around in goggles, attacking anyone who isn’t wearing goggles, telling them they’re trying to get their eye juices on others.

Jair Bolsonaro will be accused of trying to commit a genocide using eye juices.

Basically, they are just openly mocking you at this point. They want you to look and feel ridiculous. They want you as alienated as possible from your old existence, from other human beings, and from yourself.

As more and more people become aware that coronavirus is literally just the flu, and that all of this was a massive waste and a hoax, the establishment is going to keep upping the ante and bringing out more and more lunatic methods of managing the fake crisis.

This time next month, you will be wearing goggles if you want to buy food.
