America has the most lax environmental laws in the world, when it comes to toxic chemicals used by big corporations on food.

I don’t appreciate the government poisoning everyone like this.

Public health groups are suing the US Environmental Protection Agency over the reapproval of two toxic herbicides made with an active ingredient in Agent Orange, a chemical weapon deployed by the US to destroy vegetation in the Vietnam war, and which caused huge health problems among soldiers and Vietnamese residents.

The federal suit alleges the EPA’s science shows the human health risks and harm to endangered species associated with widely spreading the chemical on US cropland, but the agency failed to properly calculate those risks during the reapproval process. The herbicide is also prone to damaging non-GMO crops or vegetation on neighboring fields.

The suit asks a federal judge to order the agency to rescind its approval and recalculate the environmental and health risks using proper methodology.

“[The herbicides] are highly toxic and have devastating impacts on wildlife and rural communities that live near sprayed fields,” said Kristina Sinclair, an attorney with the Center for Food Safety. The non-profit brought the suit with Pesticide Action Network North America, and Alianza Nacional de Campesinas.

It comes after a federal court invalidated the herbicides’ previous approval in late 2020, but the EPA still “rushed” to reapprove the herbicides, the complaint alleges.

The chemical 2,4-D, is used in Enlist One and Enlist Duo, which are applied to fields with corn, soybeans and cotton genetically engineered to resist the herbicides. It is considered a likely carcinogen by the World Health Organization, and, among other human health effects, is linked to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, birth defects and respiratory problems.

The chemical is also thought to harm hundreds of endangered species including butterflies, birds, fish, deer, panthers and bats. It works by attacking the roots and leaves of weeds and causing them to produce unwanted cells, not unlike inducing cancer to kill or hobble it.

The suit also alleges the products’ approval threatens to increase the spread of new herbicide-resistant weeds because the EPA failed to properly mitigate risks, which will make it harder for farmers to manage troublesome weeds.

One of the Enlist products also uses glyphosate, a controversial and highly toxic ingredient linked to cancer and subject to another lawsuit over EPA approval.

Don’t people look at this sort of story and think “wow, our government is beyond saving”?

Why would they be passing laws making it legal to poison the population?

I often hear it said that a population can withstand a certain amount of race-mixing and that it is not really a problem, as those affected can gradually have the adulteration bred out of them. However nothing could be further from the truth. It is impossible to breed that contamination out, all that can happen is that it can be diluted, by polluting other bloodlines with it, causing all those other bloodlines to become impure too.

Take a hypothetical example of a secluded population of 500 White people. One of them develops a fondness for his Black slave, who is the exception to the rule and shows intelligence and is attractive. The couple have children, who show little of the Negro’s features and more of the White man’s. A decision is made within the community to breed out the Negro blood through successive generations. Come back to that community in a thousand years time and there will not be one White man left. With just one family of mongrels it could take a thousand years for their blood to contaminate everyone in their community, but if there were more than one family, then the process would happen much quicker and be far more wide-spread. It has happened in just a few hundred years to most of the population of South America and we can see that this is what happened to the inhabitants of Arabia.

Another problem with the ‘breeding the Black blood out’ theory is that after successive couplings only with White people, the Black features become less and less until it can become very hard for most people to actually identify the person as a hybrid. Some people may think this is a good thing – the person now looks ‘White,’ so surely there should be no problem breeding with them? This is actually the worst that can possibly happen, as those people in the community who knew of old that they should not race-mix, can now easily be deceived into doing so, thinking that they are breeding with someone White when really they are just polluting their posterity’s blood forever more.

It is not possible to allow individuals to race-mix without putting all future generations of pure-blooded White men in that community at risk. It means depriving future generations of the ability to preserve their heritage, even when they actively try to. It means denying people the right to not contaminate their bloodline.

There is no crime so severe as miscegenation. It introduces a corruption into nature that can never be undone. This is why it was always seen as forbidden – not because of some petty dislike of another person’s skin colour.

China, like any civilized country, refuses to feed poison American GMO foods to it’s people, and has thus cut imports significantly.

China’s rejection of shipments of US corn containing traces of unapproved genetically modified maize has caused a significant drop in exports. According to a new report, US traders have lost $427 million in sales.

Overall, China has barred nearly 1.45 million tons of corn shipments since last year, the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA), an American industry association, said Friday.

The tally is based on data from export companies and is significantly higher than the previous numbers reported by the media, which said roughly 900,000 tons were affected. US corn exports to China since January are down 85 percent from the same period last year, the report says.

China has been blocking shipments of American corn from its market since November. This was caused by the presence of the MIR162 genetically modified corn strain in the shipments. It was developed by the company Syngenta and has not been approved by the Chinese government since an application was submitted in March 2010.

China has sharply increased corn imports since the late 2000s, with purchases increasing from 47,000 tons in 2008 to an estimated 5 million tons last year. It was the third-largest importer of American corn before the imports of Syngenta’s GMO strain were blocked.

US traders want seed companies to shoulder some of the losses. They also say seed companies should not introduce new varieties of seeds to farmers until they are approved by major markets, including China.

Part of the ire is also falling on the Chinese government, which, traders say, maintains an opaque process of approving and rejecting GMO strains, an accusation that Beijing rejects. China has so far approved 15 genetically modified corn strains for import.

Last week, China warned America to start minding its own business.

On Tuesday, Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan warned the United States to “keep (Japan) within bounds and not to be permissive and supportive.”

“It is Japan who is being provocative against China,” Chang told a news conference after talks with US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel in Beijing, adding, “If you come to the conclusion that China is going to resort to force against Japan that is wrong … we will not take the initiative to stir up troubles,” Chang added.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hong Lei had recently said Washington needed to be more responsible and stop spreading rumors put about by “right-wing Japanese forces.”

This comes as Beijing has long been engaged in a dispute with Tokyo over the sovereignty of the group of the uninhabited islands in the East China Sea, which are known as Diaoyu in China and Senkaku in Japan.

Senior Chinese officials have repeatedly called on Washington not to take sides over the issue.

The developments come as Washington and Beijing have locked horns over a range of issues.

On Sunday, China warned the US not to interfere in Hong Kong’s affairs, following a meeting between US Vice President Joe Biden and anti-Beijing activists.

The European Commission is set to authorize the growing of genetically modified maize on European soil, despite 19 member states voting against the move, highlighting the “absurd” rules of weighted votes in the EU.

In a debate on Tuesday, 19 EU member states indicated that they would vote against the authorization of genetically modified maize because of health and environmental concerns and opposition in the European Parliament.

But because of the so-called comitology rules of the EU, their votes will be insufficient to overturn the decision of bigger member states that support the introduction of insect resistant Pioneer 1507.

The UK and Spain are both in favor of GM crops, while Germany abstained and France is staunchly against their introduction.

European health Commissioner Tonio Borg said on Tuesday that the commission is now legally bound to approve the crop. Borg insisted that extensive research since 2001 had shown the crop was safe.

Britain has argued that without GM crops, Europe risks becoming “the museum of world farming,” and that there is a clear scientific case for GM, while Spain has said that its farmers need to be able to compete with non-EU nations that can grow GM produce.

DuPont, which jointly developed Pioneer 1507 with Dow Chemical, said in statement that the EU has a“legal obligation to itself, to its farmers and scientists and to its trade partners” to support the approval of new agricultural advances.

France however warned that if the European Commission goes ahead with the introduction of GM maize, then it risks fuelling further euroscepticism by granting approval in the face of fierce opposition.

“We have a majority against it, so I don’t understand how we can approve this. Even more so ahead of EU elections. This is dangerous to the image of the EU institutions, it will fuel the idea that Europe doesn’t work or works badly,” said Thierry Repentin, the French EU affairs minister.

While Thierry’s Italian colleague called the outcome “indigestible” and his Hungarian counterpart a showcase of the “European absurd”.

The Green group in the European Parliament has said there is now no democratic mandate for giving the green light to GM maize.

China has approved its first shipment of genetically modified Argentine corn, Buenos Aires said on Tuesday, signaling that the Asian country may eventually import GMO crops from other producers like the United States.

Argentine Agriculture Minister Norberto Yauhar said Chinese health authorities cleared 60,000-tonnes of genetically modified (GMO) Argentine corn. The cargo was already headed inland to be used as hog and chicken feed.

Benchmark Chicago corn futures fell briefly after Reuters reported on the shipment. Argentina competes for market share with the United States, the No. 1 world corn exporter. But CBOT corn futures, which were already depressed due to good U.S. crop weather, ended the session mixed.

U.S. farmers could eventually benefit from China finally opening the door to GMO corn imports.

“For many years we have worked to gain access to the Chinese market. Today we did it with a cargo of very high quality corn,” Yauhar said in a statement that named trading company Bunge as the exporter of the cargo.

“The authorities in China have finally let us in, opening a potentially enormous market for our corn,” the minister added.

Argentina is the world’s No. 3 corn and soybean exporter, as well as its top supplier of byproducts such as soyoil and soymeal. China is already a major buyer of Argentine soy.

Monsanto will no longer be pursuing approval for the cultivation of new biotech crops in Europe but will instead focus on the import of existing crops. The easing of pressure is tactical, political analyst and author William Engdahl told RT.

The world’s largest seed company has been on a losing streak, especially in India and the Philippines. At the end of last week, Monsanto said that it was due to widespread opposition that it dropped its bid to get more genetically modified crops onto the European market – despite using tricks attempting to secure necessary political backing for their success.

RT:  Does the decision mean a victory for the anti-GMO movement in Europe?

WE: In a word, no. If you look at the fine print of the interview that the European managing director (MD) for Monsanto, Jose Manuel Madero, gave to Reuters, what he said is that they’re withdrawing a request for new approvals in the EU Commission here in Europe, but at the same time they’re going to increase their pressure to import GMO products from the US and other countries into Europe. So this is a tactical move – it’s not a strategic defeat or rollback by Monsanto in any way shape or…beans.

RT: What are the human and environmental risks?

WE: Well, the Mon810 is primarily being planted in Spain right now and the agri-multinationals have dominated the agriculture in Spain for the last 25 years, so they’ve managed to get a foothold in that country. In most other countries there’s a broad-based grassroots opposition to any and every sort of GMO crop – so they just haven’t been able to do it. In France, you have independent scientists in the universities who have come out with studies of Mon810, showing the indications of severe side effects that weren’t reported by Monsanto. So the popular outcry against that in France, Germany, and other countries is such that Monsanto’s unable to get it pushed through. So what they’re doing is resorting to a back doorway of proliferating their GMO in Europe by increasing the emphasis on imports of GMOs – because there they have a loophole in the European laws of labeling. The power feed – the animal feed that’s GMO corn and soy from Monsanto and other companies – is not required to be labeled as containing GMO.

RT:  Monsanto though stressed that this does not mean the firm’s withdrawing its application to renew the approval for its GM corn MON810. What does that tell us about the company’s real intentions?

WE: Well, it’s a pragmatic and tactical move by Monsanto. After Monsanto had a closed-door meeting with the president of the Rockefeller Foundation in 1999, it announced that it was not going to commercialize terminator technology that would have seeds that commit suicide after one harvest, to make sure that farmers would have to come back to Monsanto every year. Seven years later, they acquired the company that had the patent – together with the US government – on terminator or GROTS technology. But by then, the opposition had been disarmed. They thought they’d won a victory. All the anti-GMO NGOs were either sleeping at the switch or looking elsewhere, and there wasn’t a peep of protest. So I suspect they’re trying to do something similar here.
