The term ‘fireman’ has been branded an exclusionary and sexist term that should be “erased from our vocabulary”, according to Greater Manchester’s chief fire officer.

Chief fire officer Dave Russel has said both ‘fireman’ and ‘firemen’ will no longer be tolerated as they represent a damaging “form of micro-aggression”.

Mr Russel said the term ‘firefighter’ should be used instead so that language is more gender-neutral.

In an email sent by Mr Russel, the fire chief said the term “regularly slips into every day vocabulary”, according to The Telegraph, and said use of the term goes “unnoticed and unchallenged”.

“Its connotation is sexist, exclusionary, and represents a form of micro-aggression that is damaging to our culture,” Mr Russel said.

“This needs to stop and the term permanently erased from our vocabulary. We employ firefighters, not ‘firemen’, and haven’t for decades, so why use the term?

“I am clear today that the use of this term will not be tolerated in GMFRS.”

He then told The Telegraph: “There is no reason for us to use language that minimises or overlooks the vital role anyone plays within our service.

“The importance of achieving the right culture and behaviour cannot be overstated.”

Other fire services across the country have taken similar the same stance in the past, including the London Fire Brigade, after former chief Dany Cotton slammed the term ‘fireman’.

Women are just as good as men, the only real difference is that they’re better at everything.

It’s really shocking that men are even allowed to have jobs anymore, given the competence level of women in all fields.

London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton has demanded people stop using the word ‘fireman’, claiming that the term is putting women off choosing firefighting as a career.

London Fire Brigade’s first female commissioner, Cotton urged people show support for the service’s campaign, which seeks to encourage more women to take up the job, by using the hashtag #FirefightingSexism on social media and pledging to banish ‘fireman’ from their vocabularies.

General Secretary of the Fire Brigades Union Matt Wrack said: “The FBU has been using the term ‘firefighter’ and not ‘fireman’ for decades and has consistently complained to print and broadcast media and programme-makers for using this archaic term that no longer represents our modern fire and rescue service.”

“We wholeheartedly welcome more women into the fire and rescue service because we believe that a diverse service should reflect the communities that firefighters serve,” he stated, adding that the FBU is “proud and pleased” to be a part of the programme.

 Last Monday, 41-year-old Robert Pattison went to introduce himself to his fellow firefighters at Engine 55 at Joy and Southfield in Detroit.

Second Battallion Chief Shawn McCarty calls it a tradition for firefighters.

“It’s not mandatory, it’s voluntary,” he said. “You come in bearing gifts. The usual gift is doughnuts but you are allowed to bring whatever you want to bring in.”

And Pattison, a probationary firefighter, decided to bring a watermelon wrapped in a pink ribbon.

FOX 2 spoke to Pattison by phone who claims it was not a joke – and he did not mean to offend his fellow firefighters. But he clearly did.

Fire Commissioner Eric Jones says the Fenton native was officially discharged.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Engine 55, a trial firefighter (probationary employee) engaged in unsatisfactory work behavior which was deemed offensive and racially insensitive to members of the Detroit Fire Department.

“After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the best course of action was to terminate the employment of this probationary employee.”

What happens every night in Sweden – kikes used fat women and subhumans to destroy civilization

Firefighters in the southern Swedish city of Malmö were forced to let a building burn to the ground after they were violently attacked by locals who threw glass bottles at them.

The fire, which occurred in the city’s suburb of Kroksback, initially started after two cars in a car park were set on fire Thursday at around 9 pm. Police and fire crews were called and arrived on the scene shortly after, whilst another fire started at a nearby building on Sörbäcksgatan street, police said in a press release.

As the firemen tried to put out the second blaze, glass bottles were thrown at them and at their vehicles. The attack forced the firemen to abandon the blaze which engulfed the building and burned it to the ground.

Police who arrived on the scene were also attacked with glass bottles though the police report does not specify what damage was done to their vehicles or any injuries sustained by the emergency personnel.

Authorities also added that they do not know if there is any connection between the two fires, though both are suspected to be arson.

Attacks on emergency services personnel in Sweden are far from rare in certain areas that have become known globally as “no-go zones”. In some of the more notorious heavily migrant-populated suburbs like Husby, Tensta, and Rinkeby in Stockholm, police, firemen and ambulance workers have been attacked on multiple occasions.

The situation has become so bad in some areas that ambulance unions have asked for bullet proof vests to be given to paramedics working in problem areas.

Some of the violence against emergency workers has even been caught on camera. Dramatic footage originally broadcast in 2015 showed police being attacked in several no-go areas and being told by locals, “you are not in charge here”.
