Chairman Gabor Vona gives his speech after the elections at the Budapest Congress Centre.

A historical milestone has been reached by Jobbik on the European elections held on May 25. The right-radical party got the second place by gaining 14,8 percent of the votes and can send three members to the European Parliament.

“I have an important announcement to make. As of today the second strongest party of Hungary is called Jobbik” the president of the party, Gabor Vona told at the election’s night, gaining huge applause from the public. Vona thanked the activity of the supporters of the party during the campaign, reminding his audience what a shameful attack Jobbik had to face from the side of governing Fidesz. It is known that the governing party even used the state intelligence services for its political purposes in the campaign against Jobbik, when it instigated a smear-campaign against Jobbik MEP Béla Kovács.

Jobbik has made significant and continuous progress at every election so for, yet, the main goal, defeating the Socialist Party (MSZP) and attaining the second position could not be reached. Now it has been achieved, Vona said. The good result has proven as well, that Jobbik cannot be broken, it is a “stable party that is hard as concrete” added the president of the party.  Now, Jobbik is ready to be the challenger of the governing Fidesz on the next elections.

Jobbik’s rise to power, resulting in 3 MEPs.

However, Jobbik still has to work a lot to overtake Fidesz. The governing party, despite the fact that it had lost approximately 1 million voters still gained 51 percent at the EP elections, that were characterized by an extremely low turnout of 27 percent. At the same time, the Socialist Party reached only 10 percent, and after having lost its position as the second party it is now threatened by the secessionist left-wing group of the ex-PM Ferenc Gyurcsany.

The low turnout at the EP election was a clear message from the Hungarian people, showing that they disapprove of the current direction of the European Union, Gabor Vona announced. “We want a Europe but not this kind of union” he stressed. The president of the party told that Jobbik had remained the only force that stood on the side of the Hungarian people.

In his speech Gabor Vona congratulated the three newly elected MEPs of Jobbik, Krisztina Morvai, Zoltan Balczo and Bela Kovacs and reminded his audience that the winners of the future are usually the second-placed of the past. In the spirit of this he insisted on working hard to reach electoral victory in 2018.

Well done Jobbik.

‘We’re Coming for YOU Red Ed’: Farage Boasts of No Limit to UKIP’s Ambitions https://www.anglinarchive.com/2014/05/27/were-coming-for-you-red-ed-farage-boasts-of-no-limit-to-ukips-ambitions/ Tue, 27 May 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Daily Mail

Soon after announcing there is no limit to his political ambitions, Mr Farage was back in a pub with a pint of beer in his hand.

Nigel Farage today announced UKIP would go after Ed Miliband in his Doncaster seat as part of a campaign to win a ‘good number’ of MPs in 2015.

The UKIP leader told critics who think his party has peaked with last night’s victory in the European elections ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet’, as he announced plans to launch new party policy in the Labour leader’s backyard.

With 11 regions declared, UKIP has won more than 27 per cent of the vote, electing 24 MEPs, leaving Labour and the Tories to battle it out for second for the first time in 100 years.

In a speech to a victory rally in central London, Mr Farage said the party would now focus on trying to win next week’s Newark by-election before attempting to secure enough MPs in Westminster to hold the balance of power in a hung parliament.

With only Northern Ireland left to declare, UKIP has 24 MEPs, up 11 since 2009, including its first MEP in Scotland.

The Liberal Democrats were utterly destroyed in the elections, barely being able to hang onto just one seat.

Labour has 20 seats  and the Tories 19 seats in Brussels, with Labour narrowly ahead on vote share – 25.4 per cent to 23.93 per cent.

Support for Ukip has surged by more than 12 per cent, outstripping a more modest boost in votes for Labour, while the Lib Dems faced near-wipeout, slipping into fifth place behind the Greens.

Mr Farage said he was ‘proud’ of the campaign which has seen him humiliate the Westminster parties, pushing Labour and the Tories into second and third.

Speaking at an event in London today, he said: ‘If you think you’ve seen the high watermark of Ukip, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Our small party isn’t so small anymore.’

He announced that he would launch the new UKIP manifesto in Doncaster, where Mr Miliband is a local MP, in a direct challenge to Labour’s cost of living campaign.

UKIP took over 25% of the vote.

In his speech, Mr Farage said: ‘We have got to get policy right… I do feel that the manifesto as it was in 2010, 486 pages of it, was perhaps not the right way to approach politics.

‘We have already been doing substantial work on the NHS, on defence, on education, on public spending and other areas, and we will unveil our outline manifesto for the next general election, and we will do it in a town called Doncaster.

‘It is a town in which Ed Miliband is the MP, it’s a town in which yesterday we topped the polls, and we will have an honest conversation with the British public about the cost-of-living crisis and about how we can make life better and more affordable for ordinary families in this country. Policy will happen in Doncaster in September.’

Mr Farage said he was ‘over the moon’ and predicted that Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg could be forced to quit after losing 11 of his 12 MEPs, despite pitching the Lib Dems as a the ‘party of in’.

Unfortunately the BNP lost both their seats and do not even feature as a seperate party on these graphs.

On a dramatic political night:

  • The Lib Dems clung on to just one MEP – in the South East – as it faced wipeout elsewhere
  • Labour only narrowly beat the Tories after failing to make progress in key areas where they must win at the general election
  • The BNP lost its place in Brussels, as leader Nick Griffin conceded defeat
  • David Cameron rejected local electoral deals with Ukip at next year’s general election, as he dismissed Mr Farage’s image as a ‘normal bloke down the pub’
  • Mr Farage hailed the first election triumph for a minor party in more than 100 years
  • Across Europe, far-right and Eurosceptic parties swept to victory in many countries

With all the main parties left reeling about how to tackle the rise of UKIP, Mr Blair said action had to be taken to show how Mr Farage offers no solutions to the problems of modern Britain.

Speaking on Swedish television, Mr Blair said: ‘Of course we should be worried when a party like UKIP comes first in the European election, it would be foolish not to be. But on the other hand we also have to stand for what is correct and right for the future of Britain in the 21st century.

EU’s Own Survey Shows That Most Britons Want Out of the EU https://www.anglinarchive.com/2014/05/16/eus-own-survey-shows-that-most-britons-want-out-of-the-eu/ Fri, 16 May 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Daily Stormer

The ones who wanted to stay in the EU were obviously the non British people polled.

Eurocrats have been caught out lying by omission about the results of a poll which shows that most Britons want to leave the EU. They even had the cheek to call the report ‘Trust And Optimism Are Growing Across The EU.’

I guess they must have thought that since it was their own survey they could just say whatever they liked about the results.

The sooner Britain leaves the EU the better.

Express:

Forty-seven per cent of Britons believe the UK should leave, with 41 per cent disagreeing and 12 per cent recorded as “don’t knows”.

According to the Eurobarometer survey of nearly 28,000 people across Europe only 32 per cent thought their own country “could better face the future outside the EU”.

Fifty-eight per cent disagreed and 10 per cent have no opinion.

The figures are a boost for hopes that the in-out referendum promised by David Cameron before the end of 2017 – after he renegotiates the membership terms – could result in a UK exit.

Anti-Brussels campaigners said it was some of the strongest evidence yet of British voters’ wish to leave the EU.

They chided Eurocrats for failing to mention the UK finding in their press release about the poll.

It was headlined: Eurobarometer Survey: Trust And Optimism Are Growing Across The EU.

Alan Murad, of the Get Britain Out campaign, said: “Not even the EU propaganda machine Eurobarometer, funded by EU taxpayers at a cost of £20million, can cover up the fact that Britain has had enough of the EU.

“These figures highlight the overwhelming support for a British exit from the EU and the UK Government must take action.

“It is imperative the British people are allowed to decide the future of Britain’s relationship with the EU as soon as possible.”

UKIP Membership Almost Doubled in 2013 https://www.anglinarchive.com/2014/01/02/ukip-membership-almost-doubled-in-2013/ Thu, 02 Jan 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Daily Mail

Nigel Farage grins at the news that UKIP’s membership has gone from 19,500 up to 32,500 in the last year.

The UK Independence Party has benefited from a surge in membership in the last 12 months as Conservative  numbers have dipped, it emerged yesterday.

Ukip now has 32,500 members – up from 19,500 last January.

Nigel Farage’s party has been advancing in the polls and has been tipped to beat the Conservatives in the European elections to be held in May.

Conservative constituency membership has almost halved since David Cameron became leader in 2005 – from 253,600 to just 134,000.

Mr Farage said Ukip was re-engaging people who had given up on politics.

He added: ‘Many of our members are those who have never been a member of any political party before, but who see that it is Ukip who is challenging the establishment on issues such as open-door immigration, grammar schools and green taxes.’

If Ukip has a similar surge in membership over the coming  year, it could overtake the Liberal Democrats in its grassroots’ support.

The number of Lib Dems is at 43,000, more than a third lower than the 65,000 it had in 2010.

Support for Labour has also slipped back to 187,537, down from when Ed Miliband became leader in 2010.
