NEW: Today, I’m releasing a Surgeon General’s Advisory on the causal link between alcohol consumption and increased cancer risk. Alcohol is the 3rd leading preventable cause of cancer in the U.S., contributing to about 100,000 cancer cases and 20,000 cancer deaths each year. pic.twitter.com/sKTlPAZlFw

Is there anyone American in the US government?

What the hell is going on?

How are these people just all of the sudden all Indian?

CNN:

Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a new advisory Friday warning Americans that alcohol consumption can increase their cancer risk, and called for an updated health warning label on alcoholic beverages.

“Alcohol is a well-established, preventable cause of cancer responsible for about 100,000 cases of cancer and 20,000 cancer deaths annually in the United States – greater than the 13,500 alcohol-associated traffic crash fatalities per year in the US – yet the majority of Americans are unaware of this risk,” Murthy said in a statement.

Alcohol is the third-leading preventable cause of cancer in the US, the Surgeon General’s office said, after tobacco and obesity. It noted the link between alcohol consumption and cancer risk is well-established for at least seven types of cancer: breast, colorectum, esophagus, liver, mouth, throat and voice box. And the risk remains regardless of what type of alcohol is consumed, and increases with greater consumption.

Increasingly, evidence has mounted against alcohol consumption because of its health risks, negating a decades-long perception that some alcohol – especially red wine – could benefit health.

Still, nuances persist: A report in December from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine concluded that moderate drinking – two drinks a day or fewer for men and one for women – may be associated with lower risks of cardiovascular disease. It also found moderate drinking was associated with a higher risk of certain types of cancer.

This is ridiculous.

More superior Indian culture, I guess.

If I didn’t know better, I’d wonder if this Indian replacement isn’t attempting to make our culture even more inferior than it already is.

Surgeon General Calls for Big Tech to Censor People, Says Misinformation Costs Lives https://www.anglinarchive.com/2021/07/19/surgeon-general-calls-for-big-tech-to-censor-people-says-misinformation-costs-lives/ Mon, 19 Jul 2021 00:00:00 +0000

“My worry is that all this misinformation that’s floating around is having a real cost that can be measured in lives lost and that is just tragic,” says US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy on the spread of vaccine disinformation on social media and by conservative media. #CNNSOTU pic.twitter.com/hBTk3NDs9s

Vivek Murthy represents our values.

So if he says “more censorship,” that means our values are “more censorship.”

New York Post:

Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy acknowledged that Big Tech has taken some “positive steps” to combat misinformation about coronavirus vaccines but “not enough” – amid President Biden’s accusation that Facebook is “killing people” by failing to rid its platform of inaccurate information.

Murthy was asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” about Facebook’s statement in response, saying the White House is looking for a scapegoat to blame for the lag in vaccinations and claiming that administration officials have praised the work of the social media giant.

“I’ve been very consistent in what I’ve said to the technology companies, and I’ve spoken with a number of them over the last many months, and my team has as well. And what we have effectively said is when we see steps that are good, that are being taken, we should acknowledge those. And there have been some positive steps taken by these technology companies,” he told host Dana Bash, noting that some promoted material from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“But what I’ve also said to them, publicly and privately, is that it’s not enough. That we’re still seeing a proliferation of misinformation online, and we know that health misinformation harms people’s health. It costs them their lives,” Murthy said.

He said the misinformation being dispersed online confuses people trying to find accurate medical and health information – which can have deadly consequences.

“I’ve seen that as a doctor over the years as patients have struggled with health misinformation. And here’s the key thing to remember: health misinformation takes away our freedom and our power to make decisions for us and for our families,” he said.

“And that’s a problem, and these platforms have to recognize they played a major role in the increase in speed and scale with which misinformation is spreading,” Murthy said.

A few days ago, he was also out there saying that misinformation kills people.

They’re a few steps away from labeling skeptics and anyone who disagrees with the official narrative as terrorists or mass murderers.

It’s a very big shift from the government’s previous stance of “we want freedom of speech but we cannot control private companies.” The mask is off and the government is just openly calling for censorship.

We knew the government already supported the censorship, because they refused to do anything to stop it. But to have them out in the open calling for it – it’s a horse of a different color.

This is probably going to spiral pretty rapidly, as they start to put the hard word on anyone allowing any kind of free speech.

It will first be to “stop covid disinformation” just like the original censorship of the Daily Stormer was to “stop people making jokes about Heather Heyer.” As we know, that quickly became “stop people from supporting Donald Trump.”

Just so, “stop covid disinformation” will become “stop any criticism of any government policy.”

Obviously, all internet infrastructure is owned by “private companies,” so if the government is forcing private companies to censor, there will be no more free internet.

Sure, sites that have their infrastructure in Russia or China might be able to stay online, but the Biden people will just start telling Comcast and other internet providers that they have to block websites to prevent people from finding information that could hurt them.
