Six decades after the original Barbie hit shelves, Mattel is launching its first blind Barbie doll in an effort to make its range more inclusive.

The US toymaker said the doll, which is now available online and instore, has been created in a bid to make blind and low-vision children more represented within society.

In a statement, Krista Berger, the senior vice-president of Barbie and the global head of dolls, said: “We recognise that Barbie is much more than just a doll; she represents self-expression and can create a sense of belonging.”

The company has worked with the American Foundation for the Blind to ensure that everything from the doll’s eyes to its clothing accurately depict people with blindness and low vision.

The doll holds a white and red cane with a marshmallow tip while its eye gaze faces slightly up and out to “accurately reflect the sometimes-distinct eye gaze of a blind individual”.

But… the blind child can’t see that?

Are the toys meant for non-blind children? Why would a little girl with sight want a blind doll?

In addition to its first blind Barbie, Mattel has also partnered with the American organisation the National Down Syndrome Society to launch its first black doll with Down’s syndrome.

When true Christians are asked to name one thing that is definitely good for society, they immediately think of disabled and retarded persons.

But it’s not just about physically disabled persons or Down Syndrome Creatures; it’s also about every possible kind of mental retardation.

What’s a better contribution to the common good that deformed lifeforms damned to suffer and to burden everyone around them?

“We are called to recognize in every person with a disability, even with complex and serious disabilities, a unique contribution to the common good,” Pope Francis said Tuesday.

To mark the World Day for Persons with Disabilities, the pope issued a message saying there is no such thing as first- and second-class citizens, since a people’s human dignity does not depend on how healthy or productive they are.

As he has done on other occasions, Francis called for the promotion of the rights of disabled persons as well as for an end to “discrimination” of every sort against them.

The pope has been a vocal opponent of abortion of the disabled, repeatedly denouncing the “eugenic tendency” behind eliminating unborn babies with handicaps, which reveals a “narcissistic and utilitarian vision.”

“Proof of it is the eugenic tendency to suppress the unborn who have some form of imperfection,” he said in an address in 2017.

“I was thinking about the custom of doing away with babies before they’re born, this horrendous crime,” Francis has said. “They do away with them because it’s easier like that, because it’s more comfortable. It’s a great responsibility—a very grave sin.”

“We are called to defend and safeguard human life, especially in the mother’s womb, in infancy, old age and physical or mental disability,” he said.

According to the Pope, it is “a very grave sin” to prevent the suffering of the disabled and of the people around them, because, apparently, True Christians are needlessly masochistic.

“Children are to be received as they come, as God sends them,” he said. “I have heard that it is typical during the first months of pregnancy to do tests on the baby and if the child is not well or has something wrong we do away with it.”

“We do as the Nazis did to safeguard the purity of the race, but we do it with ‘white gloves,’” he said.

That is HERESY.

God didn’t make retards. God created beautiful beings in His image.

We know there are things that affect health and pregnancy and we know that many of those things can be avoided. Saying God is behind everything bad that happens is the exact defeatist attitude that Francis wants people to adopt.

“There is nothing you can do about it, it’s God’s will,” he whispers.

According to him, true Christians don’t complain about what’s being done to them, true Christians don’t defend themselves, and true Christians embrace sorrow, suffering, and the disabled.

Also according to this “Pope,” true Christians sacrifice themselves for the primitive-skinned.

In his message Tuesday, the pope also warned about devaluing the lives of the elderly, making them feel more like a burden than cherished members of society.

“And let’s not forget the many ‘hidden exiles’ that live within our homes, our families, our societies,” Francis said. “I am thinking of people of all ages, especially the elderly, who, also because of their disability, are sometimes felt as a burden, as an ‘awkward presences,’ and risk being discarded.”

“I encourage all those who work with people with disabilities to continue in this important service and commitment, which determines the degree of civilization of a nation,” he said.

In the past, the elderly were valuable because of their wisdom and because of their past contributions to society.

Today we don’t have much of that kind of elderly.

Nowadays we have the boomer kind of elderly that can’t really be considered wise and whose contributions to society amount to stealing its wealth and spending their last days in some beach condo complaining about white people not being more like Mexicans.

Maybe after the last boomer dies, the elderly will go back to being venerable.

A wicked thief stole disability benefit from a wheelchair user after prowling a Birmingham retirement block looking for vulnerable victims.

Waheed Ahmed claimed to be collecting charity cash on a door-knocking tour of Balsall Heath and, having pocketed £200 in loose change, barged his way past the amputee to swipe his fortnightly pay-out from a kitchen table.

The 46-year-old took £480 in notes from the Edward Road address and moments later, as the pensioner was on the phone to police, returned to mop up the remaining pound coins he’d left behind.

Two PCSOs from Balsall Heath police station quickly stopped a man in the street suspected of accompanying Ahmed on the bogus collections, whilst house-to-house enquiries identified a man named “Saleem” as being responsible.

Local officers linked the name to Ahmed , from Wilton Road in Sparkhill, whilst descriptions of the attacker given by residents also pointed to him being the prime suspect.

He was arrested from his home address the morning after the June 14 theft last year and, having initially denied being involved, later admitted burglary after being picked out during ID procedures and being shown CCTV of him near the scene.

And at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday (Jan 27) he was jailed for five years.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Alan Nevin from West Midlands Police Force CID, said: “Ahmed’s actions were shameful: he conned many residents out of money claiming he was collecting for charity then attacked an amputee pensioner for disability allowance he needed to pay bills.

“He spotted the money on a table, asked to use a toilet in order to gain access to the house but when refused entry shoved the victim back into his wheelchair and scooped up the money. Incredibly, he returned shortly after to collect around £20 in pound coins whilst the man was dialling 999.

“This wasn’t an opportunist crime: Ahmed was scoping out residents in an area populated by largely retired people in the hope of finding easy targets.

“The disabled man wasn’t injured but Ahmed has rightly been handed a lengthy jail term for what was a despicable offence.”

A CCTV trawl carried out by detectives showed Ahmed asking diners for money at a local café minutes before knocking the 64-year-old man’s door at 9pm.

And a neighbour told officers how Ahmed jammed his foot against her front door, stopping her closing it, and appeared to be peering around her living room when he appeared at her door asking for mosque donations.

DC Nevin, added: “When arrested Ahmed claimed not to have been in the area on the night but was forced to alter his account when shown CCTV footage of him in the street seemingly mulling over which houses to approach

A British woman with the mental age of a child was forced to marry a Pakistani immigrant and have his baby so that he could gain the right to live in Britain.

A secret court heard that the 37-year-old, who has a reading age of seven, was slapped around the face by her mother to make her smile for her wedding photograph.

The judge’s ruling, seen by The Mail on Sunday, reveals that fears were raised she was being ‘manipulated’ and her parents were being paid £20,000 to marry off their daughter to the Muslim student, who was facing deportation.

But despite concerns, registrars allowed the ceremony to go ahead and the woman’s husband, 33, is now using his human right to a family life as a reason to remain in the UK, despite the ‘grossly cruel’ ploy.

The case came to light in the Court of Protection – which has the power to make life-or-death decisions on behalf of people deemed to lack mental capacity – and can be revealed today after an anonymised judgment was published.

The judge in the case, Mrs Justice Parker, said: ‘I think there is a very significant possibility that this marriage was entered into, and indeed this child created, for reasons solely to do with immigration status.’

She added: ‘To put an incapacitated person in a position whereby she bears a child which she cannot look after is grossly cruel.’

The case has lifted the lid on the grim exploitation of people with severe mental health problems who are being ‘groomed’ and then forced into marriage for passports, money or free care.

Crime Prevention Minister Norman Baker told The Mail on Sunday last night: ‘To force anyone into  marriage without their consent or the capacity to consent is wrong and is a serious abuse of human rights.’

The court was told that the British woman, who had been a Sikh but later converted to Islam, had been married and divorced twice before.

In 2011, she entered into a Muslim marriage with the man from Lahore, who was facing deportation after his student visa ran out and an appeal was rejected.

She became pregnant ‘almost immediately’ and the following year they were about to have a civil wedding in a register office when social services tried to stop the ceremony.

The UK Border Agency was also informed by registrars of suspicions that there was ‘money changing hands’ and the husband’s immigration status was the reason for the wedding. Registrars also said the woman was ‘confused about her husband’s name’ and spoke in a  ‘simplistic way’.

Authorities have filed charges against two suspects accused of kidnapping a man with cancer from his hotel room in Bridgeton.

Marcus Pratt-Pegues, 24, and Eunique Cooper, 21, were each charged Thursday with kidnapping and first-degree burglary.

According to authorities, the suspects kidnapped Thomas M. Nedich, 63, from his room at America’s Best Value Inn at 3655 Pennridge Dr. around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say Pratt-Pegues threw a chair through the window and demanded money from Nedich, who suffers from brain cancer and cannot walk.

Nedich refused and the suspects took him from the room, according to court documents. The suspects kept him overnight and took him to the bank the next day.

Details as to what happened next have not been released. It was not known if Nedich ever gave them money.

Nedich was found safe Wednesday morning, though police haven’t said where he was located. It was not known if there was a relationship between Nedich and the alleged kidnappers.

Pratt-Pegues and Cooper are in the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $200,000 bond.
