First-time candidate Indira Sheumaker defeated incumbent Bill Gray in the Des Moines City Council’s Ward 1 race. Gray was first elected in 2014.

Sheumaker received 46.36% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Polk County Auditor’s Office. Gray tallied 36.32% and challenger Marcus Coenen finished with 16.82%.

“I had a lot of faith in my campaign. I had a lot of faith on my team who worked so hard. I had a lot of faith in my vision,” Sheumaker said. “But really my faith was cemented by the that we did what we set out to do … reaching out to people who hadn’t been reached out to, who hadn’t been represented.”

Sheumaker, who ran on a platform of defunding the police, is the first Black woman on the council in decades. The late Willie Glanton became the first Black Des Moines City Council member in 1985.

Sheumaker said she would not have run for office if it weren’t for her involvement in last year’s protests with the Black Liberation Movement.

“I got involved protesting, showing up to the (Iowa) Capitol, got tear-gassed … and then a lot of members from organizations and older members of the community were encouraging us to go to City Council meetings,” Sheumaker previously told the Des Moines Register.

For the record, there is no record that she’s Jewish. I have a policy of not just accusing people of being Jewish, so I will say: she has a very Jew-gro face and an often Jewish last name (in America, Germans!).

They’re not going to stop this agenda. We had the largest increase in violent crime in history after the attacks on the police by the blacks, but that literally means nothing to anyone with the power to change it.

Des Moines is a city of just over 200,000 people. It was 76% white in the 2000 census, and 64% white in the 2010 census. Presumably, at this point, it is only 54% white, which is still above average for a city in this cesspit of a hellhole.

A Des Moines man was found guilty Tuesday in connection with a 2015 murder.

Court documents show a Polk County jury found 64-year-old Alf Freddie Clark Sr. guilty of first-degree murder in Tacono Conner’s death. He was also found guilty of attempted murder for the shooting of Amy Stolki and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Prosecutors say Clark shot Conner and Stolki in the hallway outside of Conner’s apartment at 5201 South Union on December 27th, 2015.

Clark disappeared just a few hours after the shooting and he wasn’t taken into custody until June of 2018, when a Federal Fugitive Task Force arrested him on a material witness warrant in Tucson, Arizona.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 12th. The mandatory sentence for first-degree murder in Iowa is life in prison.

Des Moines Police are investigating after a crowd of roughly 20 juveniles allegedly attacked a couple after they left a hockey game Saturday night.

The victims, a Des Moines man and his girlfriend, told police they were walking home through the skywalk – an elevated passageway connecting buildings downtown – following an Iowa Wild game at Wells Fargo Arena when they came upon a large group of juveniles near the downtown YMCA.

“They saw a bunch of juveniles gathered in a location and something about what they were doing didn’t seem right and she simply asked them ‘hey, are you guys OK,’ and for whatever reason that aggravated the group and they ultimately started to attack those two,” Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said.

According to a police report, a witness said there was a group of about 20 juveniles that brutally attacked the man, repeatedly kicking and punching him. The woman also had minor injuries.

The investigation into the assault is still ongoing.

The jury in Oleaf Teoh’s trial found her guilty of four of the five counts she was charged with.

“We the jury find Oleaf Teoh guilty of vehicular homicide by OWI, guilty of vehicular homicide by reckless driving, guilty of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, guilty of malicious prosecution and not guilty of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.”

Teoh hit 33-year-old Matthew Otto with her uncle’s SUV in February of 2018.

Matthew Otto’s wife, Amber Otto, said she and other family members have been waiting to hear this verdict for over a year.

During the trial, prosecutors showed the jury the details of Matthew’s death.

He was hit by Teoh, who was driving 62 mph down Urbandale Avenue, where the posted speed limit is 30 mph.

The jury also found out through police testimony, Teoh was intoxicated at the time of the crash with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit.

Investigators showed their body camera and interview footage from that night, displaying all of the lies she told them, including lying about her name, birth date, where the accident happened and who was in the car at the time.

Des Moines Police have made an arrest in connection with the hit-and-run of a Des Moines pedestrian found dead Thursday in a homeless camp.

Donterius Jamar Bomar, 21, of Des Moines, has been charged with attempted murder — a class B felony — in the death of 69-year-old Charles Michael Childs.

Detectives are awaiting additional forensic examination results, and those could result in the charge being upgraded to murder, Des Moines Police said in a news release sent Friday afternoon.

Police said evidence shows Bomar was operating the vehicle that allegedly struck Childs as he walked in the 1500 block of East Madison on Tuesday, the release states. Childs’ body was found nearly two days later in a tent at a homeless camp.

Bomar had been released earlier Tuesday from Polk County Jail, where he had been held for a month on charges related to a Dec. 8 incident at the Bethel Mission, a men’s emergency homeless shelter at 1310 6th Ave., in Des Moines. Bomar allegedly attempted to enter the shelter, but he was refused service and asked to leave the property or be arrested. He was charged with trespassing and interference with official acts at the shelter.

Robert Howe’s great-granddaughter still has nightmares about the day he was stabbed.

The girl, then 8, remembers walking downstairs to find what soon became a crime scene in her elder’s Urbandale home — a place she loved and considered safe. She could hardly breathe, crying nonstop with her 5-year-old sister.

“There was blood everywhere,” Kadyn, wearing a pink bow, said softly in a Polk County courtroom. “I don’t know why the bad guy had to ruin our lives.”

The child took the stand in front of Magai Anai Kur, 20, before he was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He was convicted of murder, robbery and burglary earlier this year in the stabbing of the girl’s 77-year-old great-grandfather, who died months after the September 2017 home invasion.

Judge Robert Hanson set the Des Moines man’s sentences to run consecutively, sending him to life in prison with 25 years each for the robbery and burglary convictions. Asked if he wanted speak, Anai Kur slightly shook his head and said “no.”

Assistant Polk County Attorney Olu Salami called the stabbing heinous and senseless. Instead of leaving the home when he realized people were inside, Anai Kur attacked the innocent elderly man while he was asleep, he said.

Most White business owners in the United States understand that there are serious consequences to racial discrimination.

You could lose the business, for one, since local journalists – who all have miniature Jews inside their brains pressing the buttons – love to “expose” establishments that have a less than worshipful attitude toward coloreds.

At the same time, many of these business owners understand that non-Whites are bad for business, especially the ones that look like apes, smell like apes and – more often than not – act like apes.

One way to get around this issue is to enforce rules and codes that subtly discourage certain races from entering your establishment in the first place.

Unfortunately, as a tavern in Des Moines recently discovered, this option is not always enough to keep the large, hooked nose of political correctness from detecting racism.

A new tavern in Des Moines, Iowa is being accused of racism after complaints emerged over the bar’s enforcement of a strict dress code.

Tipsy Crow Tavern said it would refuse service to patrons who were seen wearing clothing such as baggy jeans, plain T-shirts, and construction boots, according to The Des Moines Register on Thursday.

Other restriction include no do-rags (a scarf or cloth worn on the head and tied in the back), sideways caps and jeans hanging below the waist.

Management later removed a sign stating the dress code after a fierce backlash erupted on social media.

It remains unclear, however, if the policy has been abandoned.

The issue has raised a debate in town on whether dress codes at local bars are instituted for safety purposes or a thinly veiled scheme designed to discriminate against minorities.

Translation: “NO NIGGERS.”

It’s obvious that this dress code targeted Blacks.

Only Africans in America dress like that in bars, and since Des Moines is 10 percent Black, there’s certainly enough of them to cause problems.

In fact, a local moon cricket admits as such:

Detractors claim that the clothing ban is aimed at young African-American males who are most likely to wear the apparel.

‘Not just downtown bars, but all bars want it both ways,’ 28-year-old Arnold Woods told the Register.

Woods, who is black and a graduate of Iowa State University, added that ‘they don’t want minorities there because if too many black men are in a bar it brings trouble.’

It’s funny that Woods disapproves of the dress code despite recognizing that it’s good for the business. Ah well, that’s a room temperature IQ for you.

The establishment owner himself responded in a cuckier manner:

In response, Steven McFadden, owner of the Tipsy Crow, said that discrimination was not a factor in enforcing the dress code guidelines.

He noted that nearby establishments had encountered problems with rowdy customers, including a recent shooting in 2015 that left one man dead.

‘We all, of course, want those good customers, but some of the disruptive clientele are now being dispersed to other nearby establishments, and many of the nearby establishments have adopted similar dress codes,’ he wrote in an email to the publication.

Look, I get it. Whites don’t want to lose their business and become social pariahs.

But, at some point, someone needs to stand up to this nonsense.

Aside from being objectively insane from a business perspective, forcing White establishments to open their doors to the descendants of African cannibals flies in the face of everything America stood for.

Just once, I’d like to see a White business owner who’s accused of racism saying THAS RITE to the journalist interviewing him, then unbuttoning his shirt to reveal a Derek Vinyard-style swastika tattoo across his chest.

He’d probably be unemployed for the next 10 years, but at least it would be funny.

A second person has been charged in a homicide investigation in Des Moines.

Keyon Harrison, 17, of Des Moines, was charged Friday with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

Harrison was arrested in November for possession of marijuana. He was released and arrested again for unrelated charges, so he already in custody when officials filed the charges Friday.

Harrison made his first court appearance Saturday morning. A preliminary hearing is set for May 12 at 8 a.m. at the Polk County Courthouse.

Police were called about a shooting victim in a driveway at 2605 Hickman Lane on November 7.

The victim was identified as Aaron Michael McHenry, 24, of Rockford, Illinois.

On Nov. 8, 17-year-old Keith Meco Collins, of Des Moines, was charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Police said the investigation suggests the murder was committed in relation to narcotics.

The case remains under investigation.

The attorney for a 19-year-old accused of fatally beating a 97-year-old Des Moines man says his client will use an insanity defense.

Trial is scheduled to begin April 13 for Ngor Makuey, who has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges.

Makuey is accused of entering the home of Rupert and Harriet Anderson on July 2 and attacking the couple. Rupert Anderson died of his injuries. Ninety-four-year-old Harriet Anderson survived.

The Des Moines Register reports that defense attorney Darren Page filed a notice last week that he’ll employ an insanity defense for.

Police said that Wednesday wasn’t the first time a Des Moines man fought with his former apartment manager. He is now charged with first-degree murder in her death.

Police said the apartment manager, 58-year-old Rebecca Darlene Crook, is dead, after 74-year-old Norman Wadsworth came into the office and started stabbing her on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police reports, last November Wadsworth threatened Crook with a knife when she entered his apartment with pest control. Wadsworth was evicted from River Hills Apartments.

“That likely had some play in the murder. Other than the relationship he had with the tenant, there was no other connection with the two. If it had been a random act, if he was randomly trying to kill someone it’s not likely he would have gone back to seek out her,” said Des Moines police spokesman Sgt. Jason Halifax.

Wadsworth was released from jail in April after serving five months for harassment.

Police said crook had a restraining order against him.

“When push comes to shove it’s a piece of paper filed in a computer somewhere. It’s not going to, it can’t protect you 24 hours a day. It won’t create this barrier between you and someone else who is intent on doing you harm,” said Halifax.

Security expert Tom Conley said it’s important for property managers to be trained to recognize a threat.

“Threat assessment process is where you look at the person, their background, the specific threat they’re making and the circumstances surrounding the relationship,” said Conley.

If there is a threat, it’s important to be able to protect yourself.

“Do you need to have someone with you in the office with you in work? Then you should take steps to do that. If you’re comfy arming yourself, everyone should do that depending on your background and if you have a permit,” said Conley.

Wadsworth remains in the Polk County Jail.  The case remains under investigation.
