New research claims that exposure to outdoor light at night may increase the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease, especially in people under the age of 65.

The researchers who conducted the study, funded by a National Institutes of Health grant and published in the journal Frontiers in Neuroscience on Friday, said they have found correlations between areas of the US with excessive exposure to artificial light at night and the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease.

Actually, maybe this is relevant.

Andrew Anglin has talked a lot about the risks of artificial light, particularly the new forms of really shitty light.

You know, an old fashioned lightbulb was basically like a candle. Now with fluorescent light, LED light, and whatever else they have, you’re basking in a chemical glow.

Obviously this causes health problems.

How could it not?

In the US, at least 19 states have legislation in place aimed at reducing light pollution, but the authors of the study say that despite this, the “levels of light at night remain high in many parts of the country”.

While “streetlights, roadway lighting, and illuminated signs can deter crime, make roads safer, and enhance landscaping”, undisrupted light, however, “comes with ecological, behavioral, and health consequences”, the authors said.

Behavioral.

Note that.

For this study, the researchers evaluated Alzheimer’s disease prevalence by looking at the average nighttime light intensity by state and county in the US from 2012 to 2018, using satellite-acquired light pollution data and Medicare data reports of Alzheimer’s prevalence. They also incorporated medical data about variables known or believed to be risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease into their analysis, they said.

While conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and others were associated more strongly with Alzheimer’s disease prevalence than nighttime light intensity, the authors said that nighttime light was more strongly associated with Alzheimer’s disease prevalence than “alcohol abuse, chronic kidney disease, depression, heart failure, and obesity”.

Wow, really?

Firstly, alcohol abuse is totally safe.

But it’s worse than obesity?

You have to wonder about these studies. Personally, I would not be surprised if fake light causes obesity. Or rather, contributes to it.

For people under 65, nighttime light exposure was more strongly associated with Alzheimer’s prevalence than any other disease factor examined in the study.

“This could suggest that younger people may be particularly sensitive to the effects of light exposure at night,” the researchers said.

Samuel Gandy, an Alzheimer’s researcher at Mount Sinai in New York, said the general findings of the new study made sense, as “light controls circadian rhythm and that controls sleep”, he said, adding that for Alzheimer’s, “bad sleep increases the risk”.

Living in an area with more intense outdoor light at night is associated with shorter sleep duration, increased daytime sleepiness and dissatisfaction with sleep quality, the study states.

This is not a small problem.

This is yet another reason why it is much better to live in a rural area than in an urban hellscape.

A healthy diet earlier in life could help keep you mentally sharp into your 70s, and even ward off dementia, according to research that followed thousands of Britons for seven decades.

While most studies on diet and cognitive ability have focused on people already in or reaching old age, the new review was the first to track people throughout their life – from the age of four to 70 – and suggests the links may start much earlier than previously recognised.

The research adds to a growing body of evidence that a healthy diet could reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and slow age-related cognitive decline. The findings were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition.

“These initial findings generally support current public health guidance that it is important to establish healthy dietary patterns early in life in order to support and maintain health throughout life,” said Kelly Cara, of Tufts University in Massachusetts.

Researchers analysed participants’ diet at five time points in relation to their cognitive ability at seven time points. Dietary quality was closely linked with trends in cognitive ability, they found.

For example, only 8% of people with low-quality diets sustained high cognitive ability and only 7% of those with high-quality diets sustained low cognitive ability over time compared with their peers.

While most people saw steady improvements in their diet throughout adulthood, the researchers noted that slight differences in diet quality in childhood seemed to set the tone for later life dietary patterns, for better or worse.

“This suggests that early life dietary intakes may influence our dietary decisions later in life, and the cumulative effects of diet over time are linked with the progression of our global cognitive abilities,” Cara said.

Being a fat slob is, regrettably, associated with southern whites. And it’s not totally untrue.

President Biden referred to himself as “vice president” Thursday while lamenting his inability to buy an electric Corvette — in the latest mixup of his job title from the commander in chief.

“I’m not going to be able to do it because I can’t drive a vehicle while I’m vice president,” Biden said during a virtual meeting with General Motors CEO Mary Barra.

Biden, who already owns a 1967 Corvette Stingray, quickly corrected himself, adding, “while I’m president.”

GM plans to release a Corvette Hybrid as early as 2023 followed by a fully electric model, according to US News & World Report.

Biden, 79, was vice president from 2009-2017.

The president has mixed up his job title on various prior occasions.

Biden in May referred to himself as the nation’s first US senator from Delaware, when he meant to say president.

Biden also has referred to “President” Kamala Harris on at least four occasions — most recently in January — giving his vice president a titular promotion to his own job.

This whole “who is who though?” question has come up a lot, as he does appear to believe he is the Vice-President and Kamala is the President.

But I’m sure it’s just because he is used to saying he’s “Vice-President.” From when he was Vice-President. He slips up.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “increasingly erratic behavior” could be caused by ‘roid rage or a brain disorder such as dementia, according to a new report.

People close to the Kremlin and high-up Western intelligence sources told the Mail on Sunday they think there is a medical condition to explain the Russian despot’s reckless invasion of Ukraine and his bizarre other behavior.

“There has been an identifiable change in his decision-making over the past five years or so,” an unnamed security source told the Mail.

“Those around him see a marked change in the cogency and clarity of what he says and how he perceives the world around him,” the source said, adding that Putin is “simply not being briefed” now on the Russian army’s failures.

The sources speculated that Putin, 69, could have dementia, Parkinson’s disease or “roid rage” from potential cancer treatment that involves heavy steroid use. They also cited his recent bloated appearance as evidence he may be ill.

So it isn’t an issue of NATO expansionism that he’s been warning about for 15 years.

The question I have is: if his actions are due to a botched cancer treatment, then is he still metaphysically evil?

Also, if he’s gone completely insane, how is he so lucid and able to speak unscripted directly into a camera for hours?

Also, if he’s gone completely insane due to a serious medical condition, does it still make sense to continue to threaten and bully him as he is openly mobilizing nuclear weapons?

The doctor who developed bizarre ‘suicide pods’ has grabbed the public’s attention once more, this time with a body implant for people who might develop dementia that would administer lethal poison if they forgot to turn it off.

Dr. Philip Nitschke, an Australian assisted suicide advocate who administered the first voluntary lethal injection in 1996, has proposed a body implant that would include a button people need to press “regularly,” possibly every day, in order to prevent poison from being released into their bloodstream. It has not been determined what exact kind of poison would be released by the implant.

Nitschke, dubbed ‘Dr. Death’ by the media, previously found himself embroiled in controversy after introducing ‘suicide pods’ that kill the user by filling the small space with nitrogen.

The pods could be ready for operation in Switzerland by next year, the creator revealed earlier this month. The practice of assisted suicide is legal in the country.

The concern about the body implants, besides larger debates about the legality and morality of assisted suicide, is the fact that users could simply forget to press their button, even if they don’t have dementia.

Don’t worry, the doctor said he’ll make the implants beep for a day or two before killing the person, and we can trust The Science to only ever use these implants in people who ask for them.

Besides, if the implants didn’t emit any kind of sound, that’d only make the game more interesting.

Exposure to air pollution is linked to an increased severity of mental illness, according to the most comprehensive study of its kind.

The research, involving 13,000 people in London, found that a relatively small increase in exposure to nitrogen dioxide led to a 32% increase in the risk of needing community-based treatment and an 18% increase in the risk of being admitted to hospital.

The researchers said the findings were likely to apply to most cities in developed nations, and cutting air pollution could benefit millions of people.

Recent research has shown that small increases in air pollution are linked to significant rises in depression and anxiety. It has also linked dirty air to increased suicides and indicated that growing up in polluted places increases the risk of mental disorders. Other research has found that air pollution causes a “huge” reduction in intelligence and is linked to dementia. A global review in 2019 concluded that air pollution may be damaging every organ in the human body.

The new study, published in the British Journal of Psychiatry, tracked patients in south London from their first contact with mental health services and used high-resolution estimates of air pollution at their homes.

The link was strongest for NO2, which is largely emitted by diesel vehicles, but was also significant for small particle pollution, which is produced by burning all fossil fuels. The small particle levels varied from 9 to 25 µg/m³ and an increased exposure of 3 units increased hospital admission risk by 11% and outpatient treatment risk by 7%.

Well, even aside from global warming, overcrowding and air pollution is a problem.

The UK could become the next country to issue gender neutral passports if an activist trying to force the government to overturn its policy wins a court appeal on Tuesday.

Christie Elan-Cane has argued the UK’s current passport process is “unacceptable,” and breaches international human rights law. They are pushing the Home Office to allow an “X” gender option, alongside male and female.

Elan-Cane’s original legal challenge was rejected last year by London’s High Court, but their appeal is being heard on Tuesday.

The lengths ugly women will go to to make society call them anything other than what they are are really something.

A handful of countries, including Germany, Australia and Canada, already offer a third option, other than male or female, on their passports.

Elan-Cane argues that the government’s current policy breaks the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) because it breaches the right to respect for private life and the right not to be discriminated against on the basis of gender or sex.

“Legitimate identity is a fundamental human right, but non-gendered people are treated as though we have no rights,” Elan-Cane said in a statement ahead of the case.

“It is unacceptable that someone who defines as neither male nor female is forced to declare an inappropriate gender in order to obtain a passport,” Elan-Cane added.

“X” is accepted as a gender entry on machine-readable travel documents, alongside “M” and “F,” under standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Every mental illness you can think of is a (((human right))).

And you’re a Nazi if you say otherwise.

But the British government has resisted calls from activists to change its processes.

A government lawyer argued that the current policy is needed to maintain an “administratively coherent system,” to maintain security at national borders and to combat identity theft.

All of these arguments are just pretexts based on mindless hatred for the color of the lack of gender.

Or something like that – anyway, it’s just hatred.

Elan-Cane has protested gender-neutral issues for several years, and has also called for the government to include a third gender option on their next population-wide census in 2021.

Tens of millions of people died so that Jews can use money they steal from us to subsidize every demented maggot’s dreams of recognition.
