A fourth charge against Robert Long’s accused killer alleges abuse of a corpse.

In a Feb. 20 filing with Scott County Court, assistant county prosecutor Amy Devine formally accused Charlie Gary III of first-degree murder, robbery and burglary, as well as sexual abuse of a corpse.

The charge was not made in the days after Gary, 19, was arrested Jan. 8 after Davenport Police found Long’s body at 5:43 p.m. Jan. 7 inside his home in the 1500 block of LeClaire Street.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a police news release, Gary admitted he broke into Long’s residence between Jan 3 and Jan. 5, intending to steal the victim’s car. Police say he then admitted he strangled Long and stole items from the property.

Police say Gary left with the victim’s property and car. Gary was driving the victim’s car when he was arrested.

In the updated charge, Gary is accused of abusing Long’s corpse “on or around Jan. 3” in violation of Sect. 709.18 of the Iowa Code. The crime, defined as committing a sex act with a corpse, is considered a Class D felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison.

It takes a certain kind of person to break into a 74-year-old’s home and strangle him to death in cold blood.

That kind of person is the North American pavement ape.

A man suspected of killing a 74-year-old Davenport resident was driving the resident’s car when police spotted and then arrested him, court records say.

Charlie Gary III, of Davenport, is charged with murder, robbery and burglary. Scott County court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for him. He was arrested Wednesday. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 17.

A criminal complaint says Gary, 19, admitted breaking into the home of Robert Long, intending to steal Long’s car. Gary told investigators that he strangled Long and then drove away in the car.

Davenport police say a 15-year-old Davenport West High School student is facing charges after assaulting another student in the cafeteria.

In a statement released on Tuesday, police said at 10:59 a.m. on Monday, a school resource officer assigned to the high school responded to a disturbance inside the cafeteria.

Police say their investigation revealed one student assaulted another, resulting in serious injuries.

The boy, who police and school officials have not identified, suffered a brain bleed during the assault over the lunch hour on Monday, his mother said. According to the victim’s mother her son had to undergo surgery and is currently responding to doctors.

Davenport Police and Davenport school officials would not provide details of the assault except to say it happened. The victim’s mother said she is told the assault was the result of a picture taken by her son.

Four other coloreds were also involved with the murder, and all of them have either received or will receive similar sentences.

So for this one crime alone, the white taxpayer is facing a bill of at least $5,000,000 to keep these chimps housed and fed in prison.

I’m sure our ancestors had a quicker and more economical way of dealing with coonvicts…

One of five suspects in the shooting death of a Davenport man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Darell Allen Williams Jr., of East Moline, Illinois, was sentenced Friday for his role in the robbery and shooting death of Brady Tumlinson, whose girlfriend was seriously injured in the September 2017 attack.

The Quad-City Times reported Williams pleaded guilty in July to first-degree burglary. As part of the plea deal, charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony were dropped.

Two other suspects were sentenced to life in prison without parole and a third was sentenced to up to 35 years in prison.

The fifth suspect is awaiting a verdict after having a bench trial in July.

At least the victim managed to shoot one of the invading coons before going down.

The fact that he was able to do so despite having been asleep moments earlier just goes to show how incompetent and uncoordinated these upright chimps really are.

Another man has been charged in a robbery and shooting that left 20-year-old Brady Tumlinson dead and his girlfriend seriously injured in September 2017.

Darrell Allen Williams Jr., 18, of East Moline, faces charges of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony.

The murder charge carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted. The burglary charge is a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison, while the conspiracy charge is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Williams and co-defendants Tristin Alderman, 23; D’marithe Culbreath, 22; Nakita Wiseman, 22; and Christopher Dixon, 35, conspired to rob Tumlinson at his home in the 1300 block of South Nevada Avenue in Davenport.

Tumlinson and his girlfriend, Jacey Grubbs, were asleep in their bedroom on the morning of Sept. 22, 2017, when the shooting began. Tumlinson shot back in self-defense and struck Culbreath in the forehead, according to prosecutors.

Tumlinson was pronounced dead at the scene later that morning. Grubbs suffered life-threatening injuries but survived the shooting.
