Luca Meixner, a soccer player who played in Germany for SSV Reutlingen 05, has died, the club announced on Saturday. He was 22.

The club issued a statement on its Instagram account. The club said Meixner died “unexpectedly.”

“This past weekend we received the terrible news that our player Luca Meixner passed away on Friday 12/27. died unexpectedly at the age of 22,” SSV Reutlingen said.

“The entire SSV family is deeply disturbed and stunned. His teammates, all boards and staff mourn Lucas’ survivors and our thoughts are with his family, friends and companions.”

Meixner’s cause of death wasn’t immediately revealed.

Hakaraia Wilson, a mixed martial arts fighter from New Zealand, has died at age 26, according to numerous news outlets.

No cause of death has been listed or reported for Wilson.

Te Ao News reports that police say that the death which occurred in Gisborne, New Zealand was not suspicious and the death inquiry was referred to the coroner

Wilson was in Gisborne to attend the Rhythm and Vines Festival, which took place from Dec. 29 to Dec. 31.

Of course there is nothing suspicious. Sports players die suddenly all the time.

If you want to stay healthy, keep your heartrate very low at all times. Do not run, exercise, or get worked up and definitely do not ever play sports.

Former Newcastle defender Michael Newberry has died suddenly at the age of just 27, his club Cliftonville have confirmed.

Newberry only joined the Belfast-based club in the summer and his passing has rocked the country’s football leagues. He previously featured for Linfield in a successful three-year spell, winning two Irish Premiership titles.

Cliftonville and Linfield have both announced their games against Dungannon Swifts and Larne have been postponed respectively.

A Cliftonville statement read: “Our condolences are extended to Michael’s family and friends, as well as the many team-mates he played with during his career, and fans who will be shaken and saddened by this heartbreaking news. Rest in peace, Newbs.”

Football is a terrible and cruel sport, which requires the players to destroy their health with exercise.

A teenage football prodigy related to a former Liverpool star has died on the pitch after collapsing mid-game.

Kaylen Dennis, 17, was playing for Walthamstow Football Club on Wednesday when he died suddenly in the middle of the match.

The youngster, who was cousins with Sheffield United player Rhian Brewster, was described by coaches as an ‘incredible talent’.

In a statement, the semi-pro club confirmed his death and said: ‘We are devastated to learn of the passing away of one of our U23 players, Kaylen Dennis during a game.

‘We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates and everyone that knew him.’

His cause of death remains unknown.

Brewster paid tribute to his fallen cousin during a game against Millwall last night, pointing his finger up to the sky in a moving tribute after scoring the first goal of the game.

He later told BBC Radio Sheffield: ‘I want to dedicate that goal to my younger cousin.

‘He passed away earlier today before the game, so that’s one for him and the family.

‘It’s a very tough time for the family, but I played for him today, and I was very happy to come away with a goal, and that’s for him.’

Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove is in a medically induced coma after collapsing on the field during his team’s Serie A match at home to Inter Milan on Sunday, with the game abandoned shortly afterward.

Bove’s teammates immediately called for medical help and both sets of players surrounded the 22-year-old while he was being treated before he was swiftly stretchered off to an ambulance near the pitch and taken to Careggi Hospital in Florence.

“Fiorentina and the Careggi University Hospital announce that the footballer Edoardo Bove … is currently under pharmacological sedation and hospitalized in intensive care,” Fiorentina said in a statement. “The first cardiological and neurological tests performed have ruled out acute damage to the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system. Edoardo Bove will be re-evaluated in the next 24 hours.”

Sky Italia reported that the player regained consciousness while he was in the ambulance and was managing to breathe on his own.

Bove’s parents and his girlfriend have arrived at the hospital along with Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino and most of his teammates, as well as club directors and the city’s mayor.

It is the second incident this year of a player collapsing during a Serie A match. It happened to Roma defender Evan Ndicka during his team’s match at Udinese in April.

A footballer in a lower league collapsed on the same day as Ndicka and actually died.

A 17-year-old hockey player collapsed during a charity game in New York and later died, authorities said.

Connor Kasin, a senior at Massapequa High School on Long Island, lost consciousness during a game Saturday night benefiting a foundation that was set up by the parents of another area teen, 19-year-old Sabrina Navaretta, who died in an April 2023 car crash.

The Nassau County Police Department said in a news release that people at the skating rink in Bethpage, New York, were performing CPR when officers and medics arrived.

Kasin was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A police spokesperson said Monday that no information on his cause of death was available.

It’s very simple: he died of suddenly, which is the leading cause of death among people who do too much exercise.

You have to keep your heartrate low if you want to survive.

Classes were canceled Wednesday at the University of Mobile after one of its basketball players collapsed and died on campus.

Kaiden Francis, 18, a 6-foot-2 freshman guard from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, collapsed Tuesday morning. He was found unresponsive shortly after he finished his weekly skills workout with the university’s coaching staff and trainers, said Kathy Dean, a spokesperson for the private, Christian-based university located in Mobile.

“Despite the quick and heroic efforts of students and medical professionals, Kaiden never recovered and passed away,” University of Mobile President Dr. Charles Smith said in a statement. “Our hearts are heavy as we process this tragedy.”

A cause of death has not been released. Dean said Francis recently passed “a battery of health screenings, including heart and lung evaluations.”

“None of these tests indicated health concerns,” she said. “Out of respect for the family, we have no plans to comment further at this time.”

A 15-year-old boy has died after collapsing during a school football match in Manchester.

The schoolboy had been playing in a game at Ashton on Mersey School for Sale High School on Tuesday evening when he collapsed.

A note from the school confirmed that the boy later died ‘despite all efforts of the staff and the emergency services.’

The boy who died is yet to be named, but was a year 11 pupil at Sale High School, a note sent to parents by bosses at Ashton on Mersey School confirmed.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but media reports in Morocco claim he suffered a heart attack.

Barrada retired from football in 2021 having made 26 international appearances for his country, including playing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He scored four goals, with his last one in 2015.

The Moroccan Football Federation paid tribute on social media, describing his passing as “a great loss”.

France started doing Covid vaccinations in 2020, and this guy retired in 2021, when he was 32, younger than most football players usually do.

Six former employees for the Bay Area Rapid Transit agency who lost their jobs when they did not get Covid vaccines for religious reasons have been awarded more than $1 million each, according to court documents related to a lawsuit the California workers filed.

A federal jury awarded the six ex-BART workers between $1.1 million and more than $1.5 million each, court records show.

The judgments were awarded Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

The Pacific Justice Institute law firm, which represents the plaintiffs, said in a Thursday statement that BART failed to prove an “undue hardship in denying any accommodations to the employees” who sought them based on religious reasons.

Los Angeles removed its Covid vax mandate for employees just a few months ago. Lots of places still have them, even today.

Kevin Snider, who served as lead attorney, said the workers didn’t compromise their religious convictions for their jobs.

“The rail employees chose to lose their livelihood rather than deny their faith,” he said in a statement. “That in itself shows the sincerity and depth of their convictions.”

One of the plaintiffs had worked for BART for more than 30 years, including a decade-long stretch with perfect attendance, their legal team said.

A representative of BART declined to comment Friday afternoon.

A class-action lawsuit filed in October 2022 said BART granted the vaccine religious exemption for some, but denied accommodations in every instance. Failing to provide accommodations, according to the lawsuit, violated California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act.

On October 14, 2021, BART issued a policy requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid as a condition of employment, the suit said.

Between then and February 2022, about 179 employees submitted requests for religious exemptions, and 70 were approved, the suit said. But none of the 70 who received an exemption were granted an accommodation, the suit said.

However, one in three BART employees seeking medical exemptions were granted an accommodation, according to the suit.

The system of needing an exemption was bizarre and ridiculous. It’s totally Jewish legalism to say “well, the Constitution says you have freedom of religion so if your religion says you can’t be vaccinated that may be a valid reason.”

Anyone should have been able to say, “no, actually, I’m not interested in that injection.”

Forcing people to take this fake vaccine was simply the government dancing on the grave of America. No serious people would ever allow the government to inject things into their body against their will.
