Well, this will change the weather for sure.

AP:

Britain’s last coal-fired power plant is closing on Monday, ending 142 years of coal-generated electricity in the nation that sparked the Industrial Revolution.

The Ratcliffe-on-Soar station in central England is finishing its final shift at midnight after more than half a century of turning coal into power. The U.K. government hailed the closure as a milestone in efforts to generate all of Britain’s energy from renewable sources by 2030.

Plant manager Peter O’Grady said it was “an emotional day.”

“When I started my career 36 years ago, none of us imaged a future without coal generation in our lifetimes,” he said.

The shutdown makes Britain the first country from the Group of Seven major economies to phase out coal — though some other European nations, including Sweden and Belgium, got there sooner.

Owner Uniper says many of the 170 remaining employees will stay on during a two-year decommissioning process.

Energy Minister Michael Shanks said the plant’s closure “marks the end of an era and coal workers can be rightly proud of their work powering our country for over 140 years. We owe generations a debt of gratitude as a country.”

“The era of coal might be ending, but a new age of good energy jobs for our country is just beginning,” he said.

The new age looks very grim so far

The world’s first coal-fired electricity plant, Thomas Edison’s Edison Electric Light Station, opened in London in 1882.

Ratcliffe-on-Soar, which opened in 1967, is a landmark whose eight concrete cooling towers and 199-meter (650-foot) chimney are seen by millions of people a year as they drive past on the M1 highway or speed by on trains.

In 1990 coal provided about 80% of Britain’s electricity. By 2012 it had fallen to 39%, and by 2023 it stood at just 1%, according to figures from the National Grid. More than half of Britain’s electricity now comes from renewable sources such as wind and solar power, and the rest from natural gas and nuclear energy.

“Ten years ago, coal was the leading source of this country’s power — generating a third of our electricity,” said Dhara Vyas, deputy chief executive of trade body Energy U.K.

“So, to get to this point just a decade later, with coal’s contribution replaced by clean and low carbon sources, is an incredible achievement,” Vyas said. “As we aim for further ambitious targets in the energy transition, it’s worth remembering that few back then thought such a change at such a pace was possible.”

Coal has fueled civil strife as well as powering the country. Tens of thousands of miners walked out in 1984 over plans by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative government to close more than 20 coal pits. The strike lasted a year, divided communities and saw widespread violence as police clashed with pickets. The miners’ eventual defeat helped break the power of Britain’s trade unions and hasten the end of the mining industry and the communities that relied on it.

Coal remains a combustible issue. Plans to open Britain’s first new coal mine in 30 years in northwest England divided residents, with some welcoming the promise of well-paid jobs and others opposing the pollution and carbon emissions it would bring. On Sept. 13 the High Court struck down planning permission for the mine that had been granted by the previous Conservative government in 2022.

Another chapter in Britain’s carbon-burning industrial heritage ends Monday with the closure of the last blast furnace at one of the world’s biggest steelworks, in Port Talbot, Wales.

Almost 2,000 jobs are being lost with the shutdown at the plant, owned by India’s Tata Steel. Tata plans to replace the blast furnace, which runs on the coal derivative coke, with a cleaner electric furnace that will emit less carbon and require fewer workers.

Stupid like a fox.

Women in the Ukraine Now Mining Coal as “There Just aren’t Enough Men Left” https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/07/07/women-in-the-ukraine-now-mining-coal-as-there-just-arent-enough-men-left/ Sun, 07 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000

You stupid ass cunt!

Maybe you shouldn’t have told your men to go fight for the dominion over some province you’ve never been too and would never go to!

Enjoy the mines!

CUNT!

The Guardian:

Standing in front of a Soviet-era industrial elevator, ready to descend 2,000ft for a gruelling six-hour shift at a coalmine in eastern Ukraine, Ludmyla Vashkatova looked unfazed.

The last thing she saw before stepping into the metal cage and plunging into darkness with dozens of other miners was a towering sign urging workers to take care. “You are awaited at home,” it read, a stark reminder of the perils working at a frontline mine in the heavily shelled city of Pokrovsk.

“At first, going underground was scary, but you soon get used to it,” said Vashkatova, 49, as bare-chested workers emerging from the night shift, their faces darkened by coal dust and their bodies drenched in sweat, passed by her.

Vladimir Putin’s invasion, which saw hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men serve at the front, has pushed women like Vashkatova down into the mines, taking up traditionally male jobs to keep the country’s economy going.

Nearly three-quarters of Ukrainian employers have complained of workforce shortages, according to a recent study, and in Kyiv intervals between metro trains have increased due to a worker shortage, with up to 10% of the workforce mobilised. Nationwide, there is a 30% deficiency in bus drivers.

A former village school teacher in the eastern Donetsk region, Vashkatova lost her job last year when relentless Russian shelling forced her pupils to turn to online schooling.

While scrolling online, she saw an ad on Facebook from Ukraine’s largest steelmaker, Metinvest, for a job at the Pokrovsk mine, seeking workers to operate machines underground.

“The pay is good and stable,” she said, “which is quite rare these days.”

“I was a teacher but now I am a student again. It is an interesting process,” Vashkatova said, adding that she had a few weeks left of training before she could operate the machinery unsupervised.

To enable women to work underground, the Ukrainian government lifted a law that had previously prohibited women from working in “harmful or dangerous” conditions.

Some have taken the opportunity with open hands as jobs in the battle-ravished region dried up.

Amid the rumble of rail carts and hum of machinery in the dark and dusty labyrinthine network of tunnels, Marina Vykhrevna, 50, stood alongside a group of male workers inside the mine.

Having spent three decades working at a mine above ground sorting dry coal, she welcomed the opportunity the war gave her to train as a quality control inspector underground.

Her salary had doubled to 19,000 (£360), and with the influx of women, a bond of camaraderie had formed. “I think it’s great more women join. The girls are supporting each other,” Vykhrevna said.

…

Violetta Loevska, 21, who recently started working at the mine measuring methane levels, said she saw it as her “duty” to keep it operating, especially since her uncle who worked at the mine had been sent to the front.

“Everyone understands that there just aren’t enough men left. If we don’t work here, who will?” she said as she walked down a tunnel.

Yeah, all the men are dead.

Violetta Loevska, 21.

Now you work the mines.

Ask me how much I care about your problems, whore?

Seriously, ask me how much I care.

ASK ME.

Like it or not, this is what peak revolution looks like.

New York Post:

Climate activist Greta Thunberg joined an estimated 6,000 protesters in Germany who marched through rain and mud to voice their opposition against the expansion of a coal mine on Saturday.

The demonstrators walked to the village of Luetzerath, about 90 minutes outside Dusseldorf.

The village is slated to be destroyed to make way for the coal mine — a move activists say symbolizes Berlin’s failing climate policy.

“This is a betrayal of present and future generations… Germany is one of the biggest polluters in the world and needs to be held accountable,” Thunberg said on a podium, after she was seen marching with a cardboard sign boasting the German phrase “Luetzi stays,” which is a shorthand name for the village.

Local media has reported clashes between the police and demonstrators, who have occupied the village in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia for two years in an attempt to stop the expansion by energy firm RWE.

Taking orders from a mentally retarded teenage girl is probably even worse than taking orders from Bill Gates.

There is something deeply wrong with our society.

Right now, the only person standing in this bitch’s way is Jordan Peterson.

If Greta believes that the world is going to end because of carbon, why won’t she come out and condemn this war on Russia?

Is she weak and cowardly? Or is she literally mentally retarded?

Is she an agitated disabled person with no clear perception of reality?

Germany Starts Reconnecting Coal Power Plants to Electricity Grid https://www.anglinarchive.com/2022/08/04/germany-starts-reconnecting-coal-power-plants-to-electricity-grid/ Thu, 04 Aug 2022 00:00:00 +0000

I hate to be the one to have to ask this, but was Greta Thunberg consulted on this decision? If not – and I seriously doubt she was – then Germany is in for some very serious antipathy from the most important person on earth.

Breitbart:

In a demonstration of the failure of Germany’s pursuit of so-called “green energy” and its policy of relying on Russian gas in the meantime, a coal-fired power plant will be reconnected to the nation’s electricity grid.

While the economic powerhouse of Europe — so called — scrambles to secure energy sources before the winter months, the previously shuttered Mehrum coal power plant in Lower Saxony will become the first to once again be connected to Germany’s grid.

On Monday, the manager of the Czech-owned EGH operating company, Kathrin Voelkner said: “We have declared the return to the electricity market. We assume that we will return to the grid in the short term,” according to the Frankfurter Neue Presse newspaper.

The move was preceded by the federal government implementing an emergency ordinance to allow mothballed oil and coal-powered plants to open back up until April of next year, as the country faces a shortfall in its energy amid the conflict in Ukraine.

Economy Minister Robert Habeck, a leading member of the German Greens, has described the decision to turn back on coal plants as “bitter” but a necessary evil.

While the government has allowed for the return to coal power, the socialist SPD-led traffic light coalition government has so far refused to abandon its decision to shut its remaining nuclear power plants by the end of the year, a move that followed years of anti-nuclear policies from former Chancellor Angela Merkel following the Fukushima meltdown in Japan.

The co-leader of The Greens, Ricarda Lang has said that a return to nuclear power “will not happen, on our watch at least.”

This is Ricarda Lang, the German parliament’s first bisexual member:

Gotta give her some credit – looking like that at 28 isn’t something most people can do.

Lang said that there was a “lack of seriousness” in the debate surrounding nuclear, which she described as a “highly risky technology,” despite nuclear power being one of the safest major energy sources in the world.

“But we need answers that actually suit the problem,” the Green politician continued. “We have a warmth problem, not an electricity problem,” she claimed, despite gas still being used for energy production.

Such a deep thinker.

It’s about warmth. No one really needs electricity. The only thing they need is to not die from freezing to death.

This is pretty out there at this point though, isn’t it?

These people have already said that it would be better to die than to change the weather with carbon dioxide. I don’t know why they said that, but they said that. It’s definitely better for Russia to win in the Ukraine, by their standards, than it is for the weather to change.

According to their own goofy horseshit, coal is double worse than natural gas. Germany is willing to double the warming crisis in order to try vainly to hurt Russian people.

Why is Arnold Such a Fag Now? https://www.anglinarchive.com/2018/06/02/why-is-arnold-such-a-fag-now/ Sat, 02 Jun 2018 00:00:00 +0000 Andrew Anglin
Daily Stormer
June 2, 2018

Arnold was a hero of mine as a kid, as he pretty much was for every kid in the 80s and 90s who was not a fag.

What 10-year-old boy could not be a fan of this man, back then?

He was the epitome of masculinity.

Like a hero from Greek mythology.

But now, Arnold is the fag.

The ultimo-fag, in fact.

He’s going around doing fag shit with global warming and attacking Trump.

This week, after Trump made a move to reinvigorate the coal industry, Arnold tweeted a joke.

That’s a funny joke, I think. I didn’t lol, but I let air out of my nose in a short gust.

Obviously, it was written by some professional who is hired to do such things.

But it isn’t really a point.

Unlike the obsolete things he lists, coal is not obsolete. It is just as useful as it ever was. And it is a whole lot cleaner than it ever was before. Unlike in bygone times, the only actual thing that the plants release is carbon dioxide. Which is only a problem if you are in the global warming cult that believes in the fantasy that carbon dioxide cause the world to get hotter – a politicized theory that was disproved years ago through ice core samples that showed that an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere trails a warming period, rather than the other way around.

The only people who still promote the carbon warming hoax are liars, retards and, most prominently, signally faggots.

Like Arnold.

Furthermore, unlike fax machines and pagers – the makers of which moved into other industries – the attack on the coal industry put an entire class of people in this country out of work pretty much completely. They go try to compete with the Mexicans at Walmart or McDonald’s, we’re told.

This really ruined a lot of lives, and led to a decline in life expectancy in coal towns, along with a rise in opioid use.

Destroying people’s lives like that over some goofy science fiction hoax is not right or good at all.

But the Point I was Making

Arnold: used to be ultra-macho-man, now a complete fag, hanging out with the faggot French.

This guy was the son of a member of the Nazi party. Dude was Austrian and signed up to join the SA BEFORE the annexation.

Got an Iron Cross for an injury in Russia.

And Arnold posed for Nazi photo-ops and refused to denounce his father for a long time.

When he was at his body building peak, he used to just scream “nigger” at niggers.

After Charlottesville, he did hard hard hard signaling against racism. His father wept in his grave.

Point being: I think use – or I should say overuse – of anabolic steroids can lead to hormonal disorders later in life that can basically make you a fag.

Steve Sailer has written quite a bit about the lack of writing on the long term effects of steroids on the endocrine system, and suggested that Bruce Jenner becoming a tranny might be related to his own steroid usage.

From his 2015 article “The Republican Drug“:

For example, in 2015 we are supposed to take seriously 1970s decathlete Bruce Jenner’s assertion that he’s taking female hormones now because he always felt like a Caitlyn on the inside. We are assured by august authorities that Jenner’s Kardashian spin-off reality show raises serious questions about outmoded ideas of gender distinctions.

A much less popular theory is that all the artificial male hormones Jenner likely took to improve from tenth in the 1972 Olympic decathlon to gold in 1976 may have permanently damaged his endocrine system and altered how he remembers his own past. But we don’t have legal proof that he did what practically all the successful 1970s weight-throwing field stars did. So nobody wants to think about it.

It’s possible that the ascension of transgenderism to the cause célèbre of the 2010s isn’t simply due to progressives not having anything else to do after gay marriage. It may be in part an aftereffect of the abuse of artificial hormones over recent decades. We are told to believe that transsexuals were born that way, intermediate in gender. Yet a striking fraction of the most publicized cases in recent years have been men who were quite masculine in their 20s. (It’s been noted that Jenner and several other famous transsexuals are Republicans or Libertarians.)

Perhaps some of them used chemical assistance to be more masculine when they were young, and are now experiencing a kind of hormonal blowback?

Bruce definitely never seemed very faggy – let alone like a woman who God accidentally (or as some kind of sick joke) trapped inside of a man’s body.

Charlie Sheen was also a big steroid guy – who was also pretty right-wing and masculine in his youth – who has also become a total cuck AND got HIV from so-called “gay sex” (sodomy).

Eminem also went nuts on steroids for a while then went from fag-basher to complete fag.

(nb4 “that could be natural,” here’s a picture a couple years from like two years earlier. And he was also using a bunch of hard drugs during that period.)

In a partially related phenomenon that is also observable but studied, people who get really jacked on steroids seem to be prone to homosexuality. Anyone who’s been to Thailand knows that the tranny phenomenon there exists almost exclusively for roided-out guys. That is definitely a separate thing, but also speaks to the idea that these drugs can have an effect on masculine identity – and not the one that is generally intended – even in the short term.

Look, I’m Not Saying

I know a lot of readers use or have used steroids.

I’m not condemning that, and I’ve in fact encouraged it for people with chronic obesity who can’t manage another solution.

Furthermore, there are people who used steroids in their youth that are not homosexuals or Arnold-tier libshit fags.

Sly Stallone is still holding it down.

But it’s notable that the only action star from the 80s who was natural – Bruce Willis – seems to have done the best at keeping his life together.

He is also still right-wing.

So honestly, I think steroids should probably be avoided unless you really have no other options. The endocrine system is very delicate, and it is very easy to screw up. People in the 70s and 80s didn’t really understand that, and anabolics just seemed like magic.

So, I’m not your dad – you can do what you want to do. But do understand that your thoughts and emotions are molded by your hormones, and you’re in some ways playing a game with your soul by messing with that system.

If you’re going to use them, be very smart about it. Know what you’re doing. And be as conservative as possible.
