U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump in an order Monday morning over the manner in which special counsel Jack Smith was appointed.

“The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” wrote Judge Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by the former president.

Special counsel Jack Smith had contested this argument, and other federal courts had upheld the constitutionality of special counsels.

“None of the statutes cited as legal authority for the appointment…gives the Attorney General broad inferior-officer appointing power or bestows upon him the right to appoint a federal officer with the kind of prosecutorial power wielded by Special Counsel Smith,” Cannon wrote. “Nor do the Special Counsel’s strained statutory arguments, appeals to inconsistent history, or reliance on out-of-circuit authority persuade otherwise.”

But hey – the path is now wide open.

The FBI searched President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday and located additional documents with classified markings and also took possession of some of his handwritten notes, the president’s lawyer said Saturday.

The president voluntarily allowed the FBI into his home, but the lack of a search warrant did not dim the extraordinary nature of the search. It compounded the embarrassment to Biden that started with the disclosure Jan. 12 that the president’s attorneys had found a “small number” of classified records at a former office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington shortly before the midterm elections. Since then, attorneys found six classified documents in Biden’s Wilmington home library from his time as vice president.

Though Biden has maintained “ there’s no there there,” the discoveries have become a political liability as he prepares to launch a reelection bid, and they undercut his efforts to portray an image of propriety to the American public after the tumultuous presidency of his predecessor, Donald Trump.

During Friday’s search, which lasted nearly 13 hours, the FBI took six items that contained documents with classified markings, said Bob Bauer, the president’s personal lawyer. The items spanned Biden’s time in the Senate and the vice presidency, while the notes dated to his time as vice president, he said. The level of classification, and whether the documents removed by the FBI remained classified, was not immediately clear as the Justice Department reviews the records.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick confirmed Saturday that the FBI had executed “a planned, consensual search” of the president’s residence in Wilmington.

The president and first lady Jill Biden were not at the home when it was searched. They were spending the weekend at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Speaking to reporters during a trip to California on Thursday, Biden said he was “fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly.”

It will be quickly resolved when you agree not to run in 2024.

“We found a handful of documents were filed in the wrong place,” Biden said. “We immediately turned them over to the Archives and the Justice Department.”

It remained to be seen whether additional searches by federal officials of other locations might be conducted. Biden’s personal attorneys previously conducted a search of the Rehoboth Beach residence and said they did not find any official documents or classified records.

Brandon doesn’t even seem to understand what is happening to him, but it doesn’t really matter.

If you see him, it’s clear he doesn’t enjoy the experience of being president. He is always agitated. He’s going to enjoy spending time with his dogs.

The US Department of Justice is reportedly investigating the discovery of classified materials at a Washington DC think tank closely linked to President Joe Biden. Last August, the FBI raided the Florida home of former president Donald Trump, claiming he was improperly storing classified government documents there.

The discovery was made in early November at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, an organization affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, CBS News reported on Monday.

The “roughly 10” documents, reportedly stored in a box alongside non-classified materials, date back to the Barack Obama administration and originate from Biden’s time as vice president, according to CBS.

Biden’s attorneys found the papers and informed the National Archives, with the agency taking possession of them the following morning, sources told the news outlet. US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois John Lausch has been assigned to conduct a preliminary investigation into the issue.

So they were held illegally.

I was expressly told this is a totally unforgivable form of treason.

These War Thunder people don’t mess around.

A fan of the popular military video game War Thunder reportedly leaked classified Chinese tank schematics in an effort to win an online argument.

Task and Purpose reports that fans of the popular online free-to-play military video game War Thunder have become so passionate about the game and military history that they’ve begun sharing classified schematics of real-life military vehicles during online arguments.

This has now happened on three separate occasions, with users leaking classified military documents in an effort to ensure that War Thunder is as accurate to real life as possible. The game features land, air, and sea craft, and has a player base of roughly 50,000 players. The latest incident involves information on the penetrator section of a Chinese tank cannon shell leaked in a post in Mandarin Chinese which includes a technical diagram.

Many of the original images have been removed but they essentially provide the schematics for a Chinese tank munition. This was seemingly revealed so that War Thunder could more accurately simulate what would happen if a Chinese tank met another country’s tank in combat.

In July 2021, someone who it seems may have been a commander in the Royal Tank Regiment of the United Kingdom uploaded documents to the War Thunder forums containing the technical specifications of Britain’s Challenger 2 tank in an effort to prove that the game had gotten certain details about the vehicle wrong.

The company behind the game has addressed this situation, with a message board moderator writing in 2021: “We have written confirmation from [the Ministry of Defence] that this document remains classified. By continuing to disseminate it you are in violation of the Official Secrets Act as stated by the warning on the cover of the document, an offense which can carry up to a 14-year prison sentence if prosecuted. Of this you are already aware, as a service person you have signed a declaration that you understand the act and what actions it compels you to take.”

The thing I find most shocking about this is that people who drive tanks in real life feel the need to do it in a video game in their spare time.

I mean, how do these people not get bored?

Can you imagine jumping on mushrooms all day, every day, then going home and playing Mario?

It makes no sense.

This is a 2012 game from the same company. People say it sucked, but I liked it.
