British television viewers are fuming after the UK’s Channel Five edited crucial scenes of the classic Aussie film, Crocodile Dundee, for a Boxing Day broadcast.

The film, released in 1986, follows Paul Hogan as Northern Territory crocodile hunter Mick Dundee as he is introduced to life in New York City by journalist Sue Charlton, played by Linda Kozlowski, who would go on to marry Hogan.

The movie’s tagline at the time was “From the Outback of Australia to urban jungle of New York, there’s no wilderness he can’t tame!”

The film was aired at 5.15pm, a family friendly time, with several scenes cut from the movie, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Among those scenes are a sequence in which Mick meets transgender woman Gwendoline in a New York bar, approaches her and grabs her groin area.

Also cut from the broadcast was a scene in which Mick asks limousine driver Gus about his heritage.

However, perhaps one of the biggest disappointments was the decision to cut the iconic scene in which a man pulls a knife on Mick and Sue, to which the Aussie responds: ‘That’s not a knife, this is a knife.’

I bet they removed this scene because of racism against knives

Viewers fumed on X, following the screening of the film.

“Just watching Crocodile Dundee on Channel 5. What on earth is going on at all??? Half the script has changed coz of this woke world we live in!!!” one exploded.

“Channel 5 Oh Dear! Why bother showing Crocodile Dundee in this country so woke that the lefty snowflakes get offended and triggered by a classic film!!!” another fumed.

“Channel 5 have so far cut out 20 per cent of the film so not to offend people. What’s the point of showing it at all. Ruined it. #woke,” yet another wrote.

The screening comes just weeks after one of the movie’s stars, Burt, the crocodile who was featured in the film died.

Very disrespectful to Burt to mutilate one of his most famous works.

Nothing is allowed to be fun anymore.

Looks like a mix-up in the world of British Jewtainment.

According to a report in the Financial Times, Haim Saban, who owns investment firm Saban Capital, is preparing to bid for the channel and explore a possible merger with Channel 4.

Egyptian-born Mr Saban, whose firm owns Spanish broadcaster Univision, created the Power Rangers franchise.

Channel 5 owner Richard Desmond resigned from the channel’s operating company last year.

He is said to be looking to sell for around £700 million.

Initial bids will be submitted on Thursday.

US media conglomerate Discovery Communications are reportedly in joint-bid talks with BSkyB to buy to channel.

KATIE Hopkins was at the centre of a number of heated debates about border controls on The Big British Immigration Row: Live this evening.

The opinionated columnist said that hard working Britons have “had enough” of the immigration issue and Britain tackles the topic with a “soft touch”.

The ex-Apprentice star said the country’s schools and hospitals are “full” and that the UK should only let in “tier one” individuals who are skilled.

Talking about the issue on the Channel 5 programme, Mrs Hopkins said: “Nobody is standing up for the people at home who have had enough of immigration.

“Of queuing for school places, at doctors. Frankly, if you need an interpreter to get a doctor’s appointment you shouldn’t be using our NHS.

“If you need an interpreter then you need a travel agent and should get packing.

“Hard working people in this country have had enough.”

Mrs Hopkins also came to blows with fellow former Apprentice star Luisa Zissman who is in favour of immigration.

Miss Zissman was giving her reasons for why she was in favour of immigration when Mrs Hopkins abruptly interrupted her to say she disagreed.

Miss Zissman said: “I think British people don’t work hard enough. British people always say immigrants are coming in and taking our jobs – they’re not. Some of the jobs immigrants are doing are the ones British people won’t do.

“Every economy needs jobs that are low wage.”

Then Mrs Hopkins cut in: “Wiffle piffle. There are plenty of people who aren’t getting off their a**** and doing work.

“We need to get lazy British people out to work.”
