Bolsonaro’s people are in the streets and they’re fighting.

A man was arrested in Brazil after driving his car through a crowd of supporters of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, injuring nine people.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon on the Washington Luis Highway, according to national media. A group of people protesting the incumbent president’s election defeat were demonstrating in the middle of the road.

The driver, who was later identified by state military police as a 28-year-old man, asked the crowd to let him pass through the blockade, but was denied. He then took off and drove through the crowd, carrying a number of protesters on the hood, footage of the incident shows.

The vehicle stopped shortly thereafter, and officers had to protect the driver from angry demonstrators who attempted to retaliate. He was arrested, and his 74-year-old mother, who was also in the car, was let go.

On Wednesday, Bolsonaro asked his supporters not to block federal highways, stating that by doing so, they were only undermining the legitimacy of their movement. He urged them instead to gather in squares and other proper places for rallies.

Well, that’s fine.

But they need to be in the streets.

It’s possible that unlike American Republicans, the Brazilians won’t allow their election to be stolen.

This crisis is certainly going to be ongoing when the midterms happen in America. Joe Biden has already said he is planning on hoaxing our election, and has implied he will arrest people who complain about it.

Americans should have done what Brazilians are doing now in 2020. The people have a right to protest.

Pre-dawn skirmishes have erupted between police and supporters of Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, as rightwing activists tried to force their way towards congress before major pro-government rallies that have put Latin America’s biggest democracy on edge.

Footage published by the Brasilia-based news website Metrópoles showed military police using pepper spray to repel a crowd of cheering Bolsonaristas in the early hours of Tuesday.

Officers can be seen wrestling with one demonstrator as the group attempted to break through a police blockade on the avenue leading to congress using lorries draped with Brazil’s yellow and green flag.

Other footage shows a police officer drawing his gun in an attempt to deter the mob and Bolsonaro supporters vowing to storm the supreme court. In one video a Bolsonaro supporter can be heard berating the police for blocking the protesters’ path. “God will make you pay for this. You communists!” she shouts.

Tuesday’s Independence Day protests – called by Brazil’s embattled leader in an apparent attempt to project strength at the worst moment of his presidency since it began in January 2019 – have sent shockwaves through Brazilian society.

Many citizens fear violence as hardline Bolsonaro supporters take to the streets to champion a leader whose ratings have plunged as a result of corruption scandals involving his allies and relatives and his handling of a Covid outbreak that has killed more than 580,000 people.

Others worry that with support of the military Bolsonaro could be poised to attempt a self-coup, by which he would grab dictatorial powers by closing Brazil’s democratic institutions.

Bolsonaro’s supporters were publicly calling for him to do just that on Monday as they gathered in the capital, Brasília, where the president was expected to address supporters.

On the esplanade of ministries – the heart of Brazilian politics – one demonstrator had parked a truck decorated with a photograph of Bolsonaro making gun signs with his hands and a banner that read: “Bolsonaro call in the armed forces”.

Further down the road, near the foreign ministry, another of the far-right president’s devotees carried a flag calling for the dissolution of the supreme court and congress.

On Saturday, Bolsonaro, who is notorious for his admiration of authoritarian leaders and Brazil’s 1964-85 dictatorship, warned a political “rupture” was on the cards.

As well as Tuesday morning’s rally in Brasília, a second mass gathering is being held in Brazil’s economic capital, São Paulo, on Tuesday afternoon. Smaller demonstrations are being held in other towns and cities, while some opposition groups are also planning to march, fuelling fears of clashes between the two sides.

President Jair Bolsonaro has urged Brazilians to come out in force on Tuesday to show their support for his government. It’s shaping up to be an all-or-nothing gauge of his chances of re-election that has Brazil bracing for potential clashes.

Brazil’s banking and industry groups have issued calls for calm, as Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Lewandowski wrote a newspaper article pointing out that any action against the constitutional order by armed groups, civilian or military, constitutes a crime. The Senate president canceled his attendance at an event in Austria to monitor the demonstrations.

Bolsonaro sees Sept. 7 — Brazil’s Independence Day — as an opportunity to rally his base and demonstrate that he retains the backing of large numbers of voters, according to four people who have access to the president and his sons. It’s a chance to show that he’s not alone in tackling the country’s greatest challenges, the people said.

One of Bolsonaro’s family aides says the president’s goal is to prevent the further erosion of his base. Even as his approval rating hit a low of 20%, the Bolsonaro family believes he still has the core support that would allow him to make it through to a runoff against Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the former president who leads the polls for the 2022 ballot.

The Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, and his allies could be preparing to mount a military coup in Brazil, according to an influential group of former presidents, prime ministers and leading public figures on the left.

An open letter claims rallies that Bolsonaro followers are staging on Tuesday represent a danger to democracy and amount to an insurrection modelled on Donald Trump supporters’ attack on the US Capitol on 6 January.

They assert the nationwide marches by Bolsonaro supporters against the supreme court and Congress, involving white supremacist groups, military police, and public officials at every level of government, are “stoking fears of a coup in the world’s third largest democracy”.

Signatories include José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Spanish former prime minister, Yanis Varoufakis, the former Greek finance minister, Jeremy Corbyn, the former UK Labour leader, Fernando Lugo, the former Paraguayan president, Caroline Lucas, the British Green MP, and Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, the Argentine Nobel laureate and human rights activist.

They point out that on 10 August, Bolsonaro “directed an unprecedented military parade through the capital city of Brasília, as his allies in Congress pushed sweeping reforms to the country’s electoral system that he says are critical before the presidential elections next year”.

The president himself said on 21 August that the marches were preparation for a “necessary countercoup” against Congress and the supreme court. His message claimed that Brazil’s “communist constitution” had taken away his power, and accused “the judiciary, the left, and a whole apparatus of hidden interests” of conspiring against him.

He’d better be planning a coup. Just imagine leading a country and saying “oh, okay, I will transfer power to the hordes of degenerates that will do the gay anal and the child tranny thing now if that’s the will of the sacred ballots.”

If people don’t want to receive WhatsApp messages from some number, they can just block it. That option has been there from the start. If you don’t want to receive any more messages from someone, you block them.

There is no need for WhatsApp, the company, to get involved and decide what numbers to block.

Bolsonaro has to ban Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and everything owned by Zuckerberg as a start.

But at least until Brazil develops its own social media platform, cutting a deal to use Weibo would be way better than continuing to feed the Jew social-engineering machinery.

He could also go to the Russians to see if they can set up a VK version for him. Literally anything but the Jews would be an improvement.

Globo TV showed images of Bolsonaro in the midst of a crowd in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais state, when he was stabbed.
