The Ukraine is on a path of total cultural genocide of the Russian population of the country. They are in the process of systematically erasing them, which is the reason so many in the Ukraine supported the Russian invasion.

The Zelensky junta has already made it effectively impossible to print books in the Russian language, or import Russian language books, so the logical next step was to start destroying the existing books.

Book burning was something that as recently as the 2000s, public schools in America were teaching was very bad. That narrative has totally been reversed now, so this isn’t something that is in opposition to “our values” as they now stand.

Ukraine has removed millions of copies of Russian-language books from its public libraries, Yevgeniya Kravchuk, a senior member of the country’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, said on Monday.

She stated that the Culture Ministry had provided recommendations on what titles should be taken off the shelves.

This comes amid an initiative declared by the Ukrainian government to “overcome the consequences of Russification,” which in practice means purging schools of certain literature, renaming streets, and dismantling monuments to Russian historical figures.

According to Kravchuk, the deputy chair of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, 19 million copies of books had been removed as of November, including 11 million in Russian.

“Some Ukrainian-language books from the Soviet times are being removed as well,” Kravchuk said. The MP noted that there was not enough literature available in the Ukrainian language.

“The ratio of books in the Russian and Ukrainian languages in our libraries is very disheartening. We are talking about the need to update the stocks more quickly and procure books in the Ukrainian language.”

Of course, some supporters of Russia are going to compare this to the Nazis.

A network of Francophone schools in Ontario has paused a project to burn or otherwise destroy over 4,700 books for misrepresentation of native people after the project’s adviser resigned amid claims she is not actually indigenous.

Ther Providence Catholic School Board has suspended the book-burning project – titled “Redonnons a la terre,” or “Give back to the earth,” and designed as a “gesture of openness and reconciliation” toward Canada’s indigenous population – after the practice was exposed by Radio Canada. Meanwhile, doubts have also been raised about the ethnic background of the controversial project’s main indigenous adviser. She subsequently resigned from her position in the Indigenous Peoples’ Commission of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party.

As part of the project, which started in 2019, a total of 4,716 books from several dozen schools were removed from library shelves. About 30 were burned, and it’s unclear how many others were already “recycled” or set for destruction by other means as board members reportedly feared outcry from parents and teachers.

The ashes of the burned books were used as fertilizer for trees planted by students, Lyne Cossette, the spokesperson for the board, told the National Post on Tuesday.

The practice was carried out under the guidance of indigenous “knowledge-keepers,” such as Suzy Kies, the co-chair of the Indigenous Peoples’ Commission.

The indigenous advisers were deeply involved in the project, Cossette explained to the Post, noting that the board had “formed a committee” and consulted with “many aboriginal knowledge-keepers and elders” at various stages of the process – “from the conceptualization to the evaluation of the books, to the tree-planting initiative.”

While defending the board’s methods, Cossette nonetheless acknowledged that some might have found the burning ritual disturbing. She lamented that school officials “did not intervene to ensure a more appropriate plan for the commemorative ceremony and that it was offensive to some members of the community.”

Kies, for her part, has justified casting books into the void for a variety of reasons, including an ‘offensive’ title alone. A 2011 book called ‘Cowboys and Indians’ was dumped for its “atrocious” name. Other books, including comics, novels and encyclopedias, were deemed to be “Eurocentric,” while some failed to differentiate between aboriginal cultures. Childrens’ comic books like ‘Asterix and the Indians’ and ‘Tintin in America’ have also been discarded. Some works were trashed for perpetuating unflattering stereotypes for native characters, who were portrayed as drunk or otherwise behaving badly, while others were tossed because indigenous people appeared shirtless in cover illustrations – considered a “false representation” of aboriginal culture.

A book might even fall into disfavor merely because the author does not hail from the same ethnic group that the book aims to describe. ‘Les Indiens’, published in 2000, was reportedly chucked because it had been written in France about Canadian aboriginals without any input from that community. And even when an author has aboriginal background, that does not ensure their books will escape the furnace, as Algonquin ethnologist and author Michel Noel’s book ‘Winter Indian’ was disposed of for supposedly racist language and “misinformation.”

So burning books because the author isn’t “from the same ethnic group that the book aims to describe” is okay now?

Because if it is, I can think of a lot of books written by fellow white people that should be turned to ashes ASAP.

The book-burning story took an unexpected twist on Wednesday, with Radio Canada reporting that Kies might have not had the aboriginal roots she claimed to have. While Kies claimed that one of her parents was of aboriginal origin and one of European origin, the outlet cited civil status records suggesting that her father was born in Luxembourg and her mother was French.

Dominique Ritchot, a genealogical researcher cited by Radio Canada, concluded the “knowledge keeper” had “no aboriginal ancestors for at least seven generations.”

The revelation might have saved some 200 books that were still “under evaluation” in the burning initiative, with Cossette telling Radio Canada that the whole “Give back to the earth” project was halted.

“We are deeply troubled and worried… We were confident that Suzy Kies was of aboriginal descent… We had relied on her word,” Cossette said in an email.

There isn’t really a bad reason for banning Harry Potter.

First of all, it’s pleb-tier. So fuck that shit.

Second of all, it’s plagiarized to hell and back.

Fourth of all, she keeps retroactively making her characters black and gay.

Fifth of all, Poland has The Witcher series so if the kids want magic and fun, they can read something more patriotic.

Sixth of all, Harry Potter is a faggy main character and doesn’t instill masculine virtues in young kids.

But this is actually a really fake and gay PR stunt that is going to have a negative effect.

A Swedish council has admitted that local libraries have been throwing out copies of a popular children’s book because it contains racist expressions, with one local journalist even claiming the books are being burnt.

Older versions of the Pippi Langstrumpf [Pippi Longstocking] book entitled ‘Pippi in the South Seas,’ have been discarded by libraries in the Botkyrka municipality.

The Botkyrka council has denied claims by Swedish investigative journalist Janne Josefsson that libraries are specifically targeting Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Langstrumpf books, explaining that getting rid of books is a necessary process ‘in order for the space in the shelves to be sufficient.’

They stated that they get rid of books which are ‘worn out,’ ‘outdated’ or ‘have not been borrowed for a long time,’ but admitted to disposing of the Pippi Langstrumpf copies due to ‘racist’ content and replacing them with newer editions without the ‘racial’ phrases.

The new edition of the book has replaced the phrase ‘king of the Negroes’ or ‘Negro king’ – in reference to Pippi’s father, who Pippi and her friends find in the Canny Canny Islands after his mysterious disappearance – with ‘king of the South Seas’ or ‘South Sea king.’

The Pippi Langstrumpf series has also been condemned in the past as using ‘colonial racist stereotypes’ by a German theologian, who described one scene in ‘Pippi in the South Seas’ where black children throw themselves into the sand in front of white children.

“The culled specimens of ‘Pippi in the South Seas’ have been discarded and handled according to the same routines as all other obsolete books”, said the local authority.
