The man convicted of killing a Twin Cities police officer nearly 40 years ago walked out of prison Tuesday.

The state released Isaac Brown to a halfway house.

Brown served 37 years behind bars for shooting Minneapolis police officer Richard Miller in 1981.

Miller was just months shy of retirement when he died in the line of duty. The officer’s widow did not want Brown freed.

Clarence Rodney Harris, 57, of Ramseur, faces one count each of resisting a public officer, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on Hwy. 49 North near Ramseur after somebody called 911.

Deputies said the suspect assaulted the 911 caller and was inside a home on Crestwick Road when they arrived.

Deputies tried to speak to the suspect and the suspect pulled out a “edged weapon” and cut and stabbed Lieutenant Kevin Walton, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

Detective Joshua Santiago was also injured by Harris, but did not require medical treatment, according to deputies.

This shooting happened back in November of 2017.

Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of a man accused of shooting a Pennsylvania state trooper during a dramatic shootout last November.

Daniel Clary, 22, is charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly shot Pennsylvania State Police Corp. Seth Kelly during a routine traffic stop in the Lehigh Valley.

Kelly and Trooper Ryan Seiple pulled over Clary, who they suspected was driving under the influence. Video showed Clary breaking away from Seiple and reaching into his car before opening fire on the two officers, according to Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli.

Kelly was three times, leaving bullet wounds in his neck, shoulder area and leg.

Clary also suffered wounds during the shootout. He was arraigned from his hospital bed last November and charged with two accounts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, two counts of criminal homicide, and aggravated assault, among other offenses.

Seiple was not injured during the shootout.

Kelly was treated for his wounds and was released from St. Luke’s University Hospital in December. A tourniquet he applied to his leg at the traffic stop likely saved his life. Kelly retains no memory of the shooting due to a medically induced coma.

Diante Yarber, a 26-year-old father of three, was behind the wheel of a black Ford Mustang when Barstow police officers fired more than 30 rounds into the vehicle earlier this month.

Little’s anguish comes as video emerged showing officers repeatedly firing into the vehicle on April 5. They responded to a call “regarding a suspicious vehicle” after a car was reported stolen earlier, according to the Barstow Police Department.

When the officers arrived to perform a traffic arrest at the store’s parking lot, officers exited their cars and “commanded the driver to exit his vehicle,” according to a Barstow Police Department release.

Police say Yarber — who was in the vehicle with three passengers, all of whom survived — “accelerated forward toward the officers, and then accelerated in reverse towards officers and striking another patrol vehicle,” according to the release.

This might make NYPD cops think twice about cutting someone a break.

A teen slugged a Brooklyn police officer in the face, but the cop took it easy on her and decided not to haul her in on a felony charge, law enforcement sources said.

Diamond Forrest, 17, repaid the kindness by gloating about it on social media — and admitting to The Post that she hates cops.

The unidentified housing officer was among several cops who responded to an apartment in East New York, where the 5-foot-4, 170-pound teen was “acting in a violent and threatening manner,” the sources said.

Forrest allegedly punched the cop, and then said, “I’m sorry I hit you, officer.”

He decided not to arrest her because he wasn’t injured during the incident shortly before midnight Tuesday, sources said.

Forrest was slapped with a summons for disorderly conduct, a violation punishable by a maximum 15 days in jail, instead of a more serious offense like second-degree assault on a police officer.

News that cop-killer Herman Bell has been granted parole was met with outrage in New York on Wednesday, with a senior law enforcement official calling it a “disgrace.”

“Bell has never expressed sincere remorse for these premeditated assassinations of two cops,” the official fumed.

“He has also never genuinely admitted that what he did was illegal and immoral when he shot (NYPD Officer Joseph) Piagentini 22 times.”

Bell, now 70, finally admitted in 2012 that he was one of a three Black Revolutionary Army members who lured Piagentini and Officer Waverly Jones into an ambush with a bogus 911 call in 1971 and opened fire.

As the wounded Piagentini begged for his life, Bell finished him off with the cop’s own gun.

A garda was bitten by a man infected with HIV after he responded to a complaint of a domestic incident, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has heard.

Garda Gary Dillane was attacked by 29-year-old Cedrick Chitsime after he was called out to the home of the man’s partner.

The court heard the woman had rung gardaí to assist her in getting Chitsime to leave the apartment, Dublin Live reports.

Garda Dillane was later treated for bruising and cuts to his face as well as the bite to his thumb following the attack.

He then learned that Chitsime was infected with the HIV virus after the man agreed to provide a blood sample for testing.

Garda Dillane said he had to attend the infection disease clinic as a precaution and was also prescribed HIV medication for a month before he was informed he had not contracted the disease.

That cop should probably get tested.

Not just for rabies, but AIDS as well. You never know with those naggers.

A man accused of biting off part of an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper’s ear has been found currently not competent to stand trial.

A judge in Lorain County this week ordered mental-health treatment for 44-year-old Cornelius Carey Jr. and set a September hearing to reassess his competency for trial.

Carey has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to charges including assault and resisting arrest. A message was left for Carey’s attorney Friday.

They seem to be upping the cop-killing, don’t they?

One Clinton police officer was killed and two other officers were injured Tuesday night in a shooting.

Christopher Ryan Morton, who was known by his middle name, made the ultimate sacrifice. He was just 30 years old when he was killed.

Officer Nathan Bettencourt is in stable condition, recovering from gunshot wounds and surgery at a Kansas City-area hospital. Officer Nicholas Kasper was also treated for gunshot wounds and was released from the hospital earlier Wednesday.

Police believe 37-year-old James E. Waters, from Clinton, killed Morton. Authorities on Wednesday released a mug shot of Waters from a November 2017 arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

It was a routine call – the type that the 31-year veteran had undoubtedly handled hundreds of times in his career. But this one would turn tragic in an instant.

Bauer, commander of the Near North District, spotted a man matching the description of the suspect and gave chase across Clark Street, where a confrontation ensued at the top of a dingy stairwell outside the Thompson Center. As bystanders watched, the two tumbled down the stairs. Seconds later, there was a volley of seven gunshots, authorities said.

The details of Bauer’s last moments were revealed Wednesday as police announced charges of first-degree murder and armed violence against Shomari Legghette, a four-time felon who allegedly shot Bauer at point-blank range using a gun with an extended-capacity magazine.

Legghette, 44, has a criminal history stretching back more than two decades, court records show. He picked up new charges while out on bond, on parole and serving probation, making him the kind of repeat offender whom Bauer recently urged authorities to keep off the street.

Legghette, wearing body armor under a black coat with fur trim, had heroin, marijuana and crack cocaine on him in addition to the gun, according to police. More than a decade ago, he was arrested while allegedly in possession of body armor, court records show.
