The Black gang member is also wanted for violent rape and a dozen car-jackings.

An armed robbery spree that spanned three counties and lasted more than six hours came to an end Wednesday afternoon after police arrested a man considered to be a dangerous gang member.

Two other suspects are still on the loose.

A mother of two, who did not want to be identified, told Channel 2’s Liz Artz she came face to face with Brian Kennedy when he pistol whipped her and robbed outside of a Suntrust bank branch in East Point.

She told Artz she thought he was going to kill her.

“‘I’m about to die,’ and that’s what I thought,” the woman said.

The woman said she was still shaken up and emotional after being robbed of her purse and struck across the face with the gun. She told Artz she literally looked down the barrel of a gun.

“It’s a scary feeling to think that just for $15 you might not see the rest of your family,” the woman said.

Police think the man who put that fear in her is Kennedy. He was taken into custody by U.S. marshals Thursday.

Brian Kennedy is a member of the ’30 Deep’ gang.

Police told Channel 2 Action News Wednesday that Kennedy went on a day-long crime spree with two other men, including robbing three people at gunpoint, after stealing a silver BMW from a DeKalb County gas station.

Patricia Carter lives in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of southwest Atlanta. She spotted the stolen BMW around 2:30 Wednesday.

“It was not right at all, something had to be wrong, so the first thing I thought to do (was) call 911,” Carter said.

Thursday morning the U.S. marshals arrested Kennedy, who they say is a dangerous gang member suspected of rape, nearly a dozen carjackings, as many as six armed robberies. He’s also believed to have been part of a shootout in the Marietta Boulevard area.

Police hope his arrest will lead to the identity of the other two suspects from Wednesday’s crime spree.

“It’s eye opening. It happens in a split second. You just never know what’s going to happen,” Carter said.

There is a Crime Stoppers reward for the arrest and conviction of the other two suspects. If you have information about their whereabouts, you’re asked to call 404-577-8477.

Police say you can remain anonymous.

UK: Black Thug Gets Third Life Sentence After Being Released Twice Before Only to Offend Again https://www.anglinarchive.com/2014/03/23/uk-black-thug-gets-third-life-sentence-after-being-released-twice-before-only-to-offend-again/ Sun, 23 Mar 2014 00:00:00 +0000 Daily Mail

Derek Rossi, the career armed robber who shot two policemen in a series of horrifying raids, who has now been given a third life sentence.

An armed robber has received an astonishing third life sentence after twice being freed to strike again.

The lenience of the criminal justice system was highlighted yet again as a judge yesterday apologised to career criminal Derek Rossi’s two latest victims for the fact that he had been at liberty to attack them.

Rossi, 58, was then given his third ‘life’ sentence – but only with an order that he serves 12 years.
Critics said that the case showed the phrase ‘life sentence’ was now just a ‘meaningless lie to reassure the public’.

The thug, who once almost severed a policeman’s arm with a point-blank pistol blast, was caught on this latest occasion after bursting into a bookmakers.

He was traced after he twice fired his shotgun, then dropped it and removed his balaclava to pick it up – which meant he was seen by dozens of witnesses.

But that was little comfort to the two female employees when he demanded money from the safe.

For he was only free to threaten their lives because the parole board first released him after he was jailed for life in 1984 for shooting at policemen, then again after he was jailed for life for holding up a post office in 2000.

Giving Rossi his third life sentence, Judge Peter Clarke said yesterday at Blackfriars Crown Court in London that the staff at the bookmaker, Ann Fairbrass and Hannah Bjorkvall-Green, deserved an apology.

Judge Clarke said: ‘Mrs Fairbrass and Mrs Bjorkvall-Green will be sitting in the public gallery wondering how it is that Rossi could have entered the betting shop where they worked when he was the subject of not one, but two sentences of life imprisonment for attempting to murder police officers and  members of the public while committing robberies.

‘The victims deserve an explanation about why a man who had previous life sentences for robbery was given his liberty. I wish to apologise to them on behalf of the criminal justice system for placing them in that position.’

Three people have been arrested in Georgia for a November 2013 bank robbery in Bala Cynwyd .

On Nov. 4th around 11:16 a.m., three men entered the Wells Fargo Bank on Levering Mill Road in Bala Cynwyd wearing ski masks. At least one man was armed with a handgun.

The three suspects then announced a robbery and ordered everyone to lay on the ground while two of the suspects jumped over the customer counter into the teller area.

One of the males, who was armed with the gun, ran around the bank pointing the weapon at customers and employees and threatening to shoot them.

After obtaining cash, the men fled the scene.

Following an investigation conducted by Lower Merion Police and assisted by the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department, two of the men were identified. Police also determined that one of the bank employees working at the time of the robbery had actually conspired with the three suspects. The third bank robber was not identified.

On Jan. 27, 2014, the two male robbers and the female bank employee were located in Atlanta, Georgia where they were arrested.

The male suspects who were arrested were identified as Marquis Wilson, 22, and Malcolm Moore, 20, both of Philadelphia. The bank employee, Calia Kane, 19, is also from Philadelphia.

Police continue to search for the third robbery suspect.
