Where are people supposed to get quality Peruvian cuisine now?

Women are so ridiculous.

They wanted all this “equalism” gibberish.

Now they’re going to have to pay full price for drinks.

New York Post:

A popular restaurant in California’s Bay Area is shutting its doors after settling a costly discrimination lawsuit — over its ‘Ladies Night’ promotion.

Lima Restaurant — a family-run Peruvian eatery in Concord, Calif., about 20 miles outside of Oakland — told patrons it will serve its final meal on New Year’s Eve because of the gender discrimination lawsuit.

Chef/owner John Marquez said the lawsuit, filed last year, has cost his restaurant tens of thousands of dollars — putting a major dent in the business’ cash flow.

“We haven’t fully recovered from the recent discrimination lawsuit related to our ladies’ night discount” as well as the escalating operating costs of the business, Marquez told KRON-TV .

The restaurant

The restaurant, which has been open for nearly a decade, held a once-a-week “Ladies Night” promotion — offering drinks and wine at half price for three hours to its female patrons — for the past several years.

Marquez said he believes that the people behind the lawsuit aren’t local residents, but “ambulance-chasing lawyers” looking to cash in the state’s law.

A bit antisemitic maybe there, Pedro?

“It’s a frivolous lawsuit that took us down” Marquez told ABC7News.

The news of Lima Restaurant’s impending closure did not go down well with patrons.

…

Earlier this year, the Fresno Grizzlies, a minor league baseball team which serves as the Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, was hit with a similar discrimination lawsuit after they allowed free admission for women as part of a “ladies night” promotion last year.

The Grizzlies were sued for $5 million, according to The Fresno Bee.

The plaintiffs in the Fresno Grizzlies case are represented by a San Diego-based lawyer who reached an agreement on a $500,000 settlement from the Oakland Athletics in 2016 after he filed a class-action lawsuit against the baseball team over a Mother’s Day giveaway of free plaid reversible bucket hats.

The attorney, Alfred Rava, claimed in the lawsuit that he was the victim of sex discrimination by the A’s because he did not receive a free plaid reversible bucket hat during a promotion at an A’s game on May 8, 2004.

In 1985, the California Supreme Court ruled that similar “ladies’ day” promotions at businesses such as car washes and nightclubs violated the Unruh Civil Rights Act of 1959.

…

California isn’t the only state where the courts have ruled that “ladies night” promotions could constitute illegal discrimination.

Courts in New York, New Jersey, Minnesota, Iowa, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wisconsin have ruled on cases where gender-based promotions were deemed illegal.

It’s funny and I don’t care.

I guess maybe these Mexicans are old and didn’t know that this sort of thing is illegal now.

But women get paid more than men, and frankly, they should have to pay extra for drinks.

Outrage After UC Berkeley Professor Advises Student to Look for a Girlfriend Outside Bay Area https://www.anglinarchive.com/2024/03/24/outrage-after-uc-berkeley-professor-advises-student-to-look-for-a-girlfriend-outside-bay-area/ Sun, 24 Mar 2024 00:00:00 +0000

Professor Shewchuk and his wife.

Autistic nerd with sweet Asian wife? This is like another Holocaust.

New York Post:

A California professor is under fire for allegedly telling a student not to have a girlfriend from around campus because of the “stark differences” between women in and out of the Bay Area.

Jonathan Shewchuk, a computer science professor at UC Berkeley, made the shocking comments on an online discussion board in response to one of his students looking for advice on dating in the area and finding work in the field, the Daily Cal reported.

“If you want a girlfriend, get out of the Bay Area. Almost everywhere else on the planet is better for that. I’m not kidding at all,” Shewchuk reportedly said, according to screenshots of the comment posted to social media.

“You’ll be shocked by the stark differences in behavior of women in places where women are plentiful versus their behavior within artillery distance of San Jose and San Francisco.”

Several students immediately called out the CS 189 discussion thread, an introductory course, that had turned into an informal dating advice chat.

“With all due respect, I don’t think this is very appropriate for a classroom discussion board (let alone at all.)” one student replied.

“This conversation is entirely inappropriate for a forum intended for learning and has tones of misogyny. As a woman taking this class I’m shocked by this thread as well as the professor’s engagement.”

“Hard agree, as a TA, if I said this, I would be (rightfully) fired.”

The chairs of the university’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments met with the educator seemingly prompting him to apologize, according to SF Gate.

Yeah, I’m sure he apologized. No one wants to be hunted and destroyed by these people. It’s just that no one really understands where the line is, and especially if you have some kind of autism, you can’t understand the subtlety.

Most men would not imagine that a piece of very obvious dating advice would be framed as “hatred for women.” It’s very obvious that in light of his own wife, “go outside the Bay Area” is being interpreted as “go to Thailand or the Philippines.” White women despise Asian women for being willing to marry and have children at a reasonable age with “beta males” who want a traditional situation.

Ask a white woman if there should be laws against men going to other countries for sex, and they will almost universally say “yes, of course.”

Woman Doctor from California Wants Abortion Boat to Kill Babies in the South https://www.anglinarchive.com/2022/07/12/woman-doctor-from-california-wants-abortion-boat-to-kill-babies-in-the-south/ Tue, 12 Jul 2022 00:00:00 +0000

“Oh my God, I’m like, pregnant again! I can’t deal with this!”

“Arrggggh, it’s time to take to the high seas, lassie! All aboard the Abortion Express!”

POV: You’re a Texas slut with a baby that needs to be whacked

Innovation in infanticide is an amazing thing to watch.

New York Post:

A California doctor is trying to raise at least $20 million to open a floating abortion clinic in the Gulf of Mexico to help women in states where abortions are banned.

Obstetrician Dr. Meg Autry, a professor at the University of California San Francisco, believes that having the clinic aboard a ship in federal waters will put it out of reach of state laws that restrict the procedure.

The exact location — which has not been finalized — would give access to women in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, where abortions have already been banned since Roe v. Wade was overturned last month.

It would be “a safe haven for individuals in states where their rights are severely impacted,” her fundraising site said.

The floating clinic would offer its services at a low cost, if not free, she told CBS Bay Area.

Meg Autry

“People that care deeply about access to reproductive rights know that we have to be innovative and creative in order for patients to be able to continue to have access,” she said.

“We know internationally that when access is limited or abortion is illegal, patients die,” said Autry, who told NBC Bay Area that being “a lifelong career abortion advocate” and provider was her “life’s work.”

The project is currently only in the fundraising stage, through the nonprofit PRROWESS — short for Protecting Reproductive Rights Of Women Endangered by State Statutes.

Autry conceded that it would likely cost more than $20 million and would take at least a year to get ready.

“The challenges are countless,” she told the local CBS outlet, listing operational and legal hurdles.

Her team is still trying to work out many of the details, including where the boat will launch and how women would get to the ship.

“We have to create options and be thoughtful and creative to help people in restrictive states get the health care they deserve,” she said.

Seriously, how do people who don’t believe in Satan explain what is going on here with these people obsessively trying to kill babies?

This is not “safe and rare.” These people are unapologetically pro-abortion. When did this even start? Did it just start a couple months ago? The whole argument from the time I can remember was “of course abortion is a tragedy, but we have to allow it because of certain kinds of situations and it ensures that women have freedom and equal rights.”

Now it’s literally like, a Misfits song about how killing is good.

David Ruenzel was found shot dead in a park.

A man who was fatally shot at a park in the Oakland hills on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as David Ruenzel of Oakland, East Bay Regional Park District police said Wednesday.

Police didn’t disclose Ruenzel’s exact age but said he was in his early 60s. In a news release, police said Ruenzel was a regular hiker at the park and described him as “an upstanding citizen.”

They said they are investigating robbery as a possible motive for the crime.

Ruenzel’s son in a statement said his dad was a loving father, grandfather and best friend. He also described Ruenzel as a brilliant writer and educator who touched the lives of many.

Park district police said they received a report from a witness who heard gunshots fired at about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of the Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve. The park is on Skyline Boulevard, just south of Elverton Drive.

Police released these two sketches of the most likely murderers.

The witness then found Ruenzel suffering from gunshot wounds, Lt. Gretchen Rose said.

Oakland police and park district officers responded to the scene and found Ruenzel lying down on a trail south of a staging area, she said. Paramedics also responded to the trail and pronounced him dead at the scene, according to Rose.

Witnesses who were in the area said they heard three gunshots at the same time, Rose said.

Witnesses told police that they saw two men on the trail just before they heard the gunshots.

Police said one of the suspects is described as a man who is black or possibly of mixed race and in his late 20s or early 30s with dreadlocks, a medium complexion, high cheek bones, a narrow face, a thin build and was wearing dark clothing.
