It’s fine, it’s fine.

We just gotta get this gay marriage thing in the Donbass, and then everything is fine.

The counteroffensive is going great and so on; we just need more drones or whatever.

Just relax.

Reuters:

European savers are pulling more of their money from banks, looking for a better deal as lenders resist paying up to hold on to deposits some feel they can currently live without.

The trend emerged as some of the region’s biggest lenders outlined a profitable start to the year in results that also offered a glimpse of a phenomenon dubbed a “bank walk” – a slow but notable outflow of customer cash.

Lenders wasted little time in charging more for loans when interest rates rapidly rose from an almost 15-year slumber around zero last year, but most have dragged their feet on boosting deposit rates paid to millions of their customers.

That has boosted profits at many major banks beyond many analysts’ expectations but left savers disgruntled, raising fresh questions over the longer-term stability of the sector.

“Traditional banks need to decide whether to maximise their return by keeping rates on deposits as low as possible, or to prioritise their liquidity and stability by increasing rates and retaining customers’ funds,” Nicola Marinelli, assistant professor of finance at Regent’s University London, said.

…

Most banks boast liquidity and capital levels above regulatory requirements but the demise of U.S. lender Silicon Valley Bank and Switzerland’s Credit Suisse are cautionary tales of what can happen when customers desert lenders at greater pace.

…

In Britain, NatWest (NWG.L) customers withdrew 11.1 billion pounds in the first three months of the year, HSBC’s deposits excluding one-off inflows dropped by $10 billion to $1.6 trillion, while Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group recorded falls of 5 billion and 2.2 billion pounds respectively.

In Germany, Bundesbank data showed households’ deposits dropped nearly 8% from a year earlier, with Deutsche Bank, the country’s largest bank, partly attributing its own 4.7% fall in the first quarter to contagion fears from the banking crisis in the United States and Switzerland.

Chief Financial Officer James von Moltke conceded, however, that more competition with “some price-sensitive deposits leaving the bank”, and some clients shifting to higher-yielding alternatives like money market funds, also played a role.

France’s BNP Paribas also reported a modest dip in first quarter deposits, while Spain’s Santander was the only European heavyweight to report a rise, of 6%, over the same period.

No, no.

Don’t worry.

It’s all fine.

Citibank Memo Says China “A Relative Safe Haven” During Economic Collapse https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/03/27/citibank-memo-says-china-a-relative-safe-haven-during-economic-collapse/ Mon, 27 Mar 2023 00:00:00 +0000

If you’re running the Western banking system into the ground, the last thing you want to see is one of the biggest banks admitting that China is the best place for people to put their money.

RT:

The unfolding banking crisis in the US and Europe, which has shattered investor confidence in the Western financial system, could highlight China as a “relative safe haven,” economists at Citi said in a note seen by CNBC.

The Chinese economy could see accelerated expansion this year, giving the country a “hedge” for growth while economies in the US and Europe face heightened risk of financial disruption, according to the note.

“We have long been discussing our view that China can be a major growth hedge this year – if anything, recent global banking stresses perhaps have strengthened this thesis,” a team led by Citi’s Chief China economist Xiangrong Yu reportedly stated.

“China could at least be a relative ‘safe haven’ given its growth premium, financial soundness, policy discipline and the new political economy cycle,” the economists argued.

They pointed to the recent decision by the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) to cut its reserve requirement ratio (RRR), saying the move showed “reassurance of policy support amid global volatilities.”

The regulator reduced the ratio for almost all banks by 25 basis points last week, with the move widely viewed as an attempt of ensuring liquidity in the banking system.

“Perhaps taking lessons from what the US has been going through in recent years, the PBoC has been prudent in easing even during the pandemic era and may quickly switch to a wait-and-see mode once growth is back on track,” the analysts wrote.

They also noted the Chinese government’s restructuring earlier this month as part of the effort to ease financial risks.

This is all just obviously true.

The West is taking ridiculous, deranged steps to collapse the economy, apparently on purpose. Anyone with any basic common sense is going to see that China is not doing that, and move their money there.

It is truly fascinating that while the entire media is saying “China is going to collapse any day now,” the people with the most money are saying “China is the only stable place in the world.”

When you look at the strategies of banks, you get the truth of the matter, which exists outside of the moronic political rhetoric that the goyim gobble up.

If China was going to collapse and the West was secure and stable, it would be Chinese bankers moving their money to the West. Instead you get the opposite. If you can’t understand anything else about what is going on in the world, surely you can understand that.

Who is going to collapse any day now, I wonder?

Fifty More US Banks on the Verge of Failing https://www.anglinarchive.com/2023/03/22/fifty-more-us-banks-on-the-verge-of-failing/ Wed, 22 Mar 2023 00:00:00 +0000

The banking crisis is clearly real, and it’s now just a matter how long it’s going to take for it to speed up.

RT:

The banking crisis could swallow another 50 regional lenders in the US if the country’s authorities don’t take appropriate steps to resolve structural issues, former vice-president at Lehman Brothers Lawrence McDonald has said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Policy-makers will most likely be forced to introduce a much larger withholding to maintain outflows of deposits from bank accounts that significantly exceed $250,000,” he said.

The collapse of Lehman Brothers, which caused funding markets to seize up and made it hard for global lenders to get a hold of US dollars, marked the beginning of the global financial crisis in 2008.

According to McDonald, the current problems challenging the US banking sector are very similar to those preceding the infamous collapse of the financial giant.

The former executive added that US regional banks are expected to lose “hundreds of billions of dollars” with these funds inevitably moving to larger lenders, and then to treasury bonds.

The thing about this is: this could all be fixed by backing off the rate hikes that aren’t doing anything to stop inflation anyway.

Also, inflation is not really even a serious problem, especially in comparison to the collapse of the global banking system.

If they don’t move quickly to fire Powell and take interest rates back to 2022 levels, you’ll know they’re doing this to you on purpose.

It makes me sick that all those conservative talk show hosts supported this lunacy, claiming the inflation is some kind of existential crisis. If you own any assets at all, inflation doesn’t do anything but reduce your debt burden. You could actually argue that inflation is good, if you were using the kids of econ 101 arguments that are being used to justify rate hikes.
